AIm:To evaluate the potential use of colonoscopy and endoluminal ultrasonic biomicroscopy(eUBm)to track the progression of mouse colonic ***:Ten mice were treated with a single azoxy-methane intraperitoneal injection(week 1)followed by seven days of a dextran sulfate sodium treatment in their drinking water(week 2)to induce inflammationassociated colon *** was performed simultaneously with colonoscopy at weeks 13,17-20 and21.A 3.6-f diameter 40 mHz mini-probe catheter was used for eUBm *** ultrasound mini-probe catheter was inserted into the accessory channel of a pediatric flexible bronchofiberscope,allowing simultaneous acquisition of colonoscopic and eUBm *** image acquisition,the mice were anesthetized with isoflurane and kept in a supine position over a stainless steel heated surgical waterbed at 37℃.Both eUBm and colonoscopic images were captured and stored when a lesion was detected by colonoscopy or when the eUBm image revealed a modified colon wall *** the procedure,the colon was irrigated with water that was injected through a flush port on the mini-probe catheter and that acted as the ultrasound coupling medium between the transducer and the colon *** the acquisition of the last eUBm/colonoscopy section for each animal was completed,the colons were fixed,paraffin-embedded,and stained with hematoxylin and *** images acquired at the first time-point for each mouse were compared with subsequent eUBm/colonoscopic images of the same sites obtained in the following acquisitions to evaluate lesion ***:All 10 mice had eUBm and colonoscopic images acquired at week 13(the first time-point).Two animals died immediately after the first imaging acquisition and,consequently,only 8 mice were subjected to the second eUBm/colonoscopy imaging acquisition(at the second time-point).Due to the advanced stage of colonic tumorigenesis,5 animals died after the second time-point image acquisition,and t

In this paper we introduce a method of analysis for the automated ordenng and selection or solutions of a multicriteria shortest path model. The method is based on a reference point approach, where the paths in a specific priority region are ranked by non-decreasing order of a chebyshev metric. In order to list paths according with this objective function a labelling algorithm is proposed. The developed method is applied in a video-traffic routing context. computational results are presented and analysed, for randomly generated networks of significant dimension.

The thin layer activation technique(TLA)is very effective in wear analysis for tribological systems where disassembly is costly or *** its development in the 1970s,TLA has been applied through direct irradiation of solid targets using ionizing particle beams to obtain an activation with a specific *** profile is then used to measure wear in a variety of *** experiments rely heavily on how deep the normalized activation *** of 30μm to 50μm are obtained for constant activation by the standard method,which for many experiments is ***,many others would benefit greatly from a 300μm constant activation layer,such as high-performance engines,softer alloys(brakes),and oil transport *** this aim was the goal of this ***,we needed to find an adequate irradiation line for the TLA ***,another technique/system was developed(the Attenuation Wheel),which would bring the depth of constant activation from 50μm to 300μm.

Water pollution caused by heavy metals ions has been gaining attention in recent years,increasing the interest in the development of methodologies for their efficient removal focusing on the adsorption process for these *** current challenge faced by adsorption processes is the adequate adsorbent immobilization for removal and ***,the present work aimed at producing a faujasite zeolite nanocomposite decorated with cobalt ferrite nanoparticles for Pb^2+ions adsorption in an aqueous medium improving magnetic removal and *** a result,a high surface area(434.4 m^2·g^-1)for the nanocomposite and an 18.93 emu·g^-1 saturation magnetization value were obtained,indicating magnetic removal in a promising material for adsorption *** nanocomposite regeneration capacity evaluated by magnetic recovery after 24 h suspension presented a high Pb^2+ion adsorptive capacity(98.4%)in the first *** 98%of the Pb^2+ions were adsorbed in the second *** this way,the synthesized faujasite:cobalt ferrite nanocomposite reveals itself as a promising alternative in adsorption processes,aiming at a synergic effect of fAU zeolite high adsorptive activity and the cobalt ferrite nanoparticles magnetic activity,allowing for adsorbent recovery from the aqueous medium via magnetic force and successive adsorptive cycles.

Recycled high-strength aluminum alloys have limited use as structural materials due to poor mechanical properties. Spray forming remelting followed by hot extrusion is a promising route for reprocessing 7 xxx alloys. The 7050 alloy machining chips were spray formed, hot extruded, rotary swaged and heat-treated in order to improve mechanical properties. microstructures, tensile properties and fatigue strength results for a 2.7 mm-diameter recycled wire are presented. Secondary phases and precipitates were investigated by XRD, SEm, EBSD, TEm and DSc. As-swaged and heat-treated(solution and aging) conditions were evaluated. mechanical properties of both conditions outperformed AA7050 aerospace specification. Substantial grain refinement resulted from the extensive plastic deformation imposed by rotary swaging. Refined micrometric and sub-micrometric Al grains, as well as coarse and fine intermetallic precipitates were observed. Subsequent solution treatment resulted in a homogeneous, recrystallized and equiaxed microstructure with grain size of 9 μm. Nanoscale gP(I) zones and η′ phase precipitates formed after aging at 120 ℃, imparting higher tensile(586 mPa) and fatigue(198 mPa) strengths.
