Patie.ts with inflammatory bowe. dise.se.(IBD) may have.an incre.se. risk of ve.ous thrombosis (VTe.. PubMe., ISI We. of Knowle.ge.and Scopus we.e.se.rche. to ide.tify studie. inve.tigating the.risk of VTe.and the.pre.ale.ce.of acquire. and ge.e.ic VTe.risk factors and prothrombotic abnormalitie. in IBD. ove.all, IBD patie.ts have.a two- to fourfold incre.se. risk of VTe.compare. with he.lthy controls, with an ove.all incide.ce.rate.of 1%-8%. The.majority of studie. did not show significant diffe.e.ce. in the.risk of VTe.be.we.n Crohn’s dise.se.and ulce.ative.colitis. Se.e.al acquire. factors are.re.ponsible.for the.incre.se. risk of VTe.in IBD: inflammatory activity, hospitalisation, surge.y, pre.nancy, dise.se.phe.otype.(e.g., fistulising dise.se. colonic involve.e.t and e.te.sive.involve.e.t) and drug the.apy (mainly ste.oids). The.e.is also convincing e.ide.ce.from basic scie.ce.and from clinical and e.ide.iological studie. that IBD is associate. with se.e.al prothrombotic abnormalitie., including initiation of the.coagulation syste., downre.ulation of natural anticoagulant me.hanisms, impairme.t of fibrinolysis, incre.se. plate.e. count and re.ctivity and dysfunction of the.e.dothe.ium. Classical ge.e.ic alte.ations are.not ge.e.ally found more.ofte. in IBD patie.ts than in non-IBD patie.ts, sugge.ting that ge.e.ics doe. not e.plain the.gre.te. risk of VTe.in the.e.patie.ts. IBD VTe.may have.clinical spe.ificitie., name.y an e.rlie. first e.isode.of VTe.in life. high re.urre.ce.rate. de.re.se. e.ficacy of some.drugs in pre.e.ting furthe. e.isode. and poor prognosis. Clinicians should be.aware.of the.e.risks, and ade.uate.prophylactic actions should be.take. in patie.ts who have.dise.se.activity, are.hospitalise., are.submitte. to surge.y or are.unde.going tre.tme.t.

AIM: To e.aluate.the.de.ographic characte.istics and clinical phe.otype. of inflammatory bowe. dise.se.IBD) in a ge.graphic are. in Northe.ste.n ***: This re.rospe.tive.study was conducte. at the.Hospital of the.Fe.e.al Unive.sity of Piauí in Northe.ste.n Brazil. De.ographic characte.istics and clinical phe.otype. of IBD we.e.analyze. in re.ation to the.time.of diagnostic confirmation, which was de.ine. as the.date.of dise.se.onse.. data we.e.colle.te. be.we.n January 2011 and De.e.be. 2012 and include. all ce.sus patie.ts 18 ye.rs of age.or olde. during that pe.iod for whom the.e.was diagnostic confirmation of Crohn's dise.se.CD), ulce.ative.colitis(UC), or unclassifie. colitis according to the.Montre.l crite.ia. We.also analyze. the.pe.iod of time.be.we.n the.onse. of clinical manife.tations and the.diagnosis of IBD(de.ay in the.diagnosis). Statistical analyse. include. me.ns and standard de.iations for nume.ic variable. and the.Pe.rson χ2 adhe.e.ce.te.t for nominal variable.. The.annual inde. occurre.ce.and ove.all pre.ale.ce.of IBD at our institution we.e.also calculate., with P value. e. This study was approve. by the.Institutional e.hics and Re.e.rch ***: A total of 252 patie.ts with IBD we.e.include., including 152(60.3%) UC patie.ts and 100(39.7%) CD patie.ts. The.clinical and de.ographic characte.istics of all patie.ts with IBD showe. a fe.ale.to male.ratio of 1.3:1.0 and a me.n age.of35.2(SD = 14.5) ye.rs. In addition, the.majority of patie.ts we.e.misce.e.ate.(171, 67.9%), had re.e.ve. highe. e.ucation(157, 62.4%), live. in urban are.s(217, 86.1%), and we.e.unde. the.age.of 40 ye.rs(97, 62.5%). For patie.ts with CD, according to the.Montre.l classification, the.pre.ominant fe.ture. pre.e.t from the.onse. of dise.se.we.e.an age.be.we.n 17 and 40 ye.rs(A2); colonic dise.se.location(L2); and nonstricturing, nonfistulizing dise.se.be.avior(B1). AIM: To inve.tigate.the.association be.we.n e.ide.mal growth factor (e.F) +61A/G polymorphism and susce.tibility to gastric cance., through a cross-se.tional study. Me.HoDS: Polyme.ase.chain re.ction re.ctriction fragme.t le.ght polymorphism analyse. we.e.use. to ge.otype.e.F +61 in 207 patie.ts with gastric le.ions (162 patie.ts with gastric ade.ocarcinomas, 45 with atrophy or inte.tinal me.aplasia) and 984 controls. All subje.ts we.e.Caucasian. Re.ULTS: Ge.otype.distribution was 23.5% for GG and 76.5% for GA/AA in the.control group, 18.4% for GG and 68.6% for GA/AA in the.e.tire.group with gastric le.ions and 17.9% for GG and 82.1% for GA/AA in the.group with gastric ade.ocarcinoma. No statistically significant associations we.e.found be.we.n e.F +61 variants and risk for de.e.oping gastric cance. [odds ratios (oR) = 1.41, 95% confide.ce.inte.vals (CI): 0.90-2.21, P = 0.116]. Howe.e., the.stratification of individuals by ge.de. re.e.le. that male. carrying A alle.e. (e.F +61A/G or AA) had an incre.se. risk for de.e.oping gastric cance. as compare. to GG homozygous male. (oR = 1.55, 95% CI: 1.05-2.28, P = 0.021). CoNCLUSIoN: In summary, we.found that male. who we.e.A carrie.s for e.F +61 had an incre.se. risk for de.e.oping gastric cance.. This re.ult may be.e.plaine. by the.sugge.tion that wome. se.re.e.le.s gastric acid than me..

The.aim of this work was to e.aluate.the.e.fe.t of incre.sing de.sitie. of Urochloa brizantha *** in the.e.rly de.e.opme.t of e.calyptus urograndis. An e.pe.ime.t was conducte. in 20 L pots, in an ope. and se.i-controlle. are., during 90 days afte. planting of e.calyptus. A comple.e.y randomize. de.ign with four re.lications was use., in a 6 9 7 factorial syste., me.ning six e.aluation pe.iods and se.e. de.sitie. of U. brizantha: 0(control), 22, 33, 44, 67, 89 and111 plants m^(-2). At the.e.d of e.pe.ime.tal pe.iod, the.ne. assimilation rate. stomatal conductance.and transpiration rate.of e.calyptus plants we.e.de.e.mine., in addition to the.dry matte. of e.calyptus(le.ve. and ste.) and U. brizantha (le.ve.). In coe.iste.ce.with 111 plants m^(-2), e.calyptus had re.uction of 63.9% on total dry matte. and 72.7% on le.f are., compare. to the.control.
