Influence of recrystallization on tungsten divertor monoblock under high heat flux

Extremely high heat flux reaching 20 MW·m^(−2) can be foreseen for the future fusion *** high heat flux would induce recrystallization of tungsten(W)material,leading to significant strength loss of tungsten material and increment of ductility at high temperature,in particular when the temperature is much higher than its ductile-to-brittle transition temperature(DBTT).In this paper,an International Thermonuclear Experimental Reactor(ITER)-like tungsten divertor monoblock is modeled,and benchmark has been done first to get consistent results with ***,the monoblock structure has been optimized in order to get a lowest possible temperature and stress during heating and cooling phase separately compared to the baseline *** analysis of two kinds of states:stress-relieved tungsten and recrystallized tungsten using finite element method has been performed,aiming at finding out the recrystallization impact on the mechanical behavior of tungsten in divertor monoblock under cyclic high heat *** due to progressive deformation and time-independent fatigue lifetime of these two states of tungsten have been assessed and compared according to criteria The Structural Design Criteria for ITER In-vessel ***,the impact of different material recrystallization temperature on mechanical behavior has been explored under stationary heat *** result shows that after recrystallization,thermal stress of tungsten material can be released by the larger plastic deformation compared to the stress-relieved ***,it is easier for recrystallized tungsten to get damaged due to progressive deformation as well as fatigue under 20 MW·m^(−2) cyclic heat flux than stress-relieved tungsten because of its relatively lower yield strength and larger plastic strain,which would cause low-cycle strain ***,tungsten with lower recrystallization temperature distorts more seriously,and therefore,it can be predicted the cracks would

Increasing the toughness while reducing the viscosity of carbon nanotube/ polyether imide/polyether ether ketone nanocomposites

Polyether ether ketone(PEEK)has good mechanical ***,its high viscosity when molten limits its use because it is hard to *** nanocomposites containing both carbon nanotubes(CNTs)and polyether imide(PEI)were pre-pared by a direct wet powder blending method using a vertical injection molding *** addition of an optimum amount of PEI lowered the viscosity of the molten PEEK by approximately 50%while producing an increase in the toughness of the nanocom-posites,whose strain to failure increased by 129%,and fracture energy increased by 97%.The uniformly dispersed CNT/PEI powder reduced the processing difficulty of PEEK nanocomposites without affecting the thermal *** improvement of the strength and viscosity of PEEK facilitate its use in the preparation of thermoplastic composites.

Recent research and development of thick CVD tungsten coatings for fusion application

As the interface closest to the edge plasma of a fusion reactor reacting deuterium(D)and tritium(T),plasma-facing material(PFM)need to withstand extreme service conditions with the high particle flux,high heat load,and neutrons with energy up to 14.1 ***(W)is the primary candidate of PFMs in future fusion reactors due to its high melting point,good thermal conductivity,excellent irradiation resistance,and low hydrogen/helium *** far,powder metallurgy is a leading route for the preparation of W-based *** alternative approach could be the coating technique,which has advantages on fabricating W PFMs and plasma-facing component(PFC)*** the past several years,inspiring results were achieved in the preparation process and performance evaluation of the W coating with high purity,excellent thermal conductivity,and thickness at the millimeter level by atmospheric pressure chemical vapor deposition(APCVD).No obvious grain growth and hardness decrease were observed when the annealing temperature was lower than 1500°C,indicating its good thermal *** as-deposited coating exhibited a comparable thermal shock resistance with the conventional W *** the polished sample showed a high crack threshold(0.33-0.44 GW·m^(−2))when exposed to edge localized mode like transient at room temperature,compared to the unpolished *** performance of the chemical vapor deposition(CVD)-W exposed to deuterium(D)plasma and fission neutron were also ***,the practicality of preparation of large-scale W-based PFM by this technique is also *** paper gives a short overview on the recent research and development status of the thick W coating prepared by APCVD at Xiamen Tungsten Co.,Ltd and Southwestern Institute of Physics for using as PFM and PFC in fusion devices.

The formation control of multiple unmanned aerial vehicles(multi-UAVs)has always been a research *** on the straight line trajectory,a multi-UAVs target point assignment algorithm based on the assignment probability is proposed to achieve the shortest overall formation path of multi-UAVs with low complexity and reduce the energy *** order to avoid the collision between UAVs in the formation process,the concept of safety ball is introduced,and the collision detection based on continuous motion of two time slots and the lane occupation detection after motion is proposed to avoid collision between *** on the idea of game theory,a method of UAV motion form setting based on the maximization of interests is proposed,including the maximization of self-interest and the maximization of formation interest is proposed,so that multi-UAVs can complete the formation task quickly and reasonably with the linear trajectory assigned in ***,through simulation verification,the multi-UAVs target assignment algorithm based on the assignment probability proposed in this paper can effectively reduce the total path length,and the UAV motion selection method based on the maximization interests can effectively complete the task formation.

Samples of ultra-high-purity tungsten prepared using chemical vapour deposition(CVD)technique were irradiated with neutrons at temperatures T_(irr)=373-483 K(stage Ⅱ of defect recovery)and T_(irr)=573-673 K(stage Ⅲ)up to 0.15 displacements per atom(dpa)in the Belgian reactor(BR2).The study of the microstructure of neutron-damaged samples using transmission electron microscopy(TEM)revealed visible defects with a predominance of dislocation *** an increase in the neutron irradiation temperature,the spatial distribution of the loops acquired pronounced inhomogeneity,and their average size moderately *** and voids were not ***-induced hardening was found and a linear correlation was obtained between Vickers microhardness and nanohardness for undamaged and neutron-irradiated CVD-W *** of tungsten with neutrons led to a significant increase in the retention of deuterium,which accumulated mainly in vacancy-type ***,the influence of the columnar grain structure in low-dose neutron-irradiated tungsten seemed to be non-trivial upon deuterium retention.

Geochemical modeling to aid experimental design for multiple isotope tracer studies of coupled dissolution and precipitation reaction kinetics

It is a challenge to make thorough but efficient experimental designs for the coupled mineral dissolution and precipitation studies in a multi-mineral system, because it is difficult to speculate the best experimental duration, optimal sampling schedule, effects of different experimental conditions, and how to maximize the experimental outputs prior to the actual experiments. Geochemical modeling is an efficient and effective tool to assist the experimental design by virtually running all scenarios of interest for the studied system and predicting the experimental outcomes. Here we demonstrated an example of geochemical modeling assisted experimental design of coupled labradorite dissolution and calcite and clayey mineral precipitation using multiple isotope tracers. In this study, labradorite(plagioclase) was chosen as the reactant because it is both a major component and one of the most reactive minerals in basalt. Following our isotope doping studies of single minerals in the last ten years, initial solutions in the simulations were doped withmultiple isotopes(e.g., Ca and Si). Geochemical modeling results show that the use of isotope tracers gives us orders of magnitude more sensitivity than the conventional method based on concentrations and allows us to decouple dissolution and precipitation reactions at near-equilibrium condition. The simulations suggest that the precise unidirectional dissolution rates can inform us which rate laws plagioclase dissolution has followed. Calcite precipitation occurred at near-equilibrium and the multiple isotope tracer experiments would provide near-equilibrium precipitation rates, which was a challenge for the conventional concentration-based experiments. In addition, whether the precipitation of clayey phases is the rate-limiting step in some multi-mineral systems will be revealed. Rockburst proneness considering energy characteristics and sample shape effects

Accurate prediction of rockburst proneness is one of challenges for assessing the rockburst risk and selecting effective control *** study aims to assess rockburst proneness by considering the energy characteristics and qualitative information during rock *** representative rock types in cylindrical and cuboidal sample shapes were tested under uniaxial compression conditions and the failure progress was detected by a high-speed *** far-field ejection mass ratio(FEMR)was determined considering the qualitative failure information of the rock *** peak-strength energy impact index and the residual elastic energy index were used to quantitatively evaluate the rockburst proneness of both cylindrical and cuboidal ***,the performance of these two indices was analyzed by comparing their estimates with the *** results show that the accuracy of the residual elastic energy index is significantly higher than that of the peak-strength energy impact *** residual elastic energy index and the FEMR are in good agreement for both cylindrical and cuboidal rock *** is because these two indices can essentially reflect the common energy release mechanism characterized by the mass,ejection velocity,and ejection distance of rock *** suggests that both the FEMR and the residual elastic energy index can be used to accurately measure the rockburst proneness of cylindrical and cuboidal samples based on uniaxial compression test.

Solid strong base catalysts have received considerable attention in various organic reactions due to their facile separation,neglectable corrosion,and environmental *** great progress has been made in the preparation of solid strong base catalysts,it is still challenging to avoid basic sites aggregation on support and active sites loss in reaction ***,we report a tandem redox strategy to prepare Na single atoms on graphene,producing a new kind of solid strong base catalyst(Na1/G).The base precursor NaNO_(3)was first reduced to Na2O by graphene(400℃)and successively to single atoms Na anchored on the graphene vacancies(800℃).Owing to the atomically dispersed of basicity,the resultant catalyst presents high activity toward the transesterification of methanol and ethylene carbonate to synthesize dimethyl carbonate(turnover frequency(TOF)value:125.7 h^(−1)),which is much better than the conventional counterpart Na2O/G and various reported solid strong bases(TOF:1.0-90.1 h^(−1)).Furthermore,thanks to the basicity anchored on graphene,the Na1/G catalyst shows excellent durability during *** work may provide a new direction for the development of solid strong base catalysts.

Research on high energy efficiency and low bit-width floating-point type data for abnormal object detection of transmission lines

Achieving a balance between accuracy and efficiency in target detection applications is an important research *** detect abnormal targets on power transmission lines at the power edge,this paper proposes an effective method for reducing the data bit width of the network for floating-point *** performing exponent prealignment and mantissa shifting operations,this method avoids the frequent alignment operations of standard floating-point data,thereby further reducing the exponent and mantissa bit width input into the training *** enables training low-data-bit width models with low hardware-resource consumption while maintaining *** tests were conducted on a dataset of real-world images of abnormal targets on transmission *** results indicate that while maintaining accuracy at a basic level,the proposed method can significantly reduce the data bit width compared with single-precision *** suggests that the proposed method has a marked ability to enhance the real-time detection of abnormal targets in transmission ***,a qualitative analysis indicated that the proposed quantization method is particularly suitable for hardware architectures that integrate storage and computation and exhibit good transferability.

Particle agglomeration and inhibition method in the fluidized pyrolysis reaction of waste resin

This work investigated the pyrolysis reaction of waste resin in a fluidized bed *** was found that the pyrolysis-generated ash would adhere to the surface of ceramic particles,causing particle agglomeration and *** kaolin could effectively inhibit the particle agglomeration during the fluidized pyrolysis reaction through physical isolation and chemical *** the one hand,kaolin could form a coating layer on the surface of ceramic particles to prevent the adhesion of organic ash generated by the pyrolysis of *** the other hand,when a sufficient amount of kaolin(-0.2%(mass))was added,the activated kaolin could fully contact with the Na+ ions generated by the pyrolysis of resin and react to form a high-melting aluminosilicate mineral(nepheline),which could reduce the formation of low-melting-point sodium sulfate and thereby avoid the agglomeration of ceramic particles.
