The separation of iron oxide from b.nded hematite jasper(b.J) assaying 47.8% Fe, 25.6% Si O2 and 2.30%Al2O3 using selective magnetic coating was studied. Characterization studies of the low grade ore indicate that b.sides hematite and goethite,jasper, a microcrystalline form of quartzite, is the major impurity associated with this ore. b.neficiation b. conventional magnetic separation technique could yield a magnetic concentrate containing 60.8% Fe with 51% Fe recovery. In order to enhance the recovery of the iron oxide minerals, fine magnetite, colloidal magnetite and oleate colloidal magnetite were used as the coating material. When sub.ected to magnetic separation, the coated ore produces an iron concentrate containing 60.2% Fe with an enhanced recovery of56%. The AFM studies indicate that the coagulation of hematite particles with the oleate colloidal magnetite facilitates the higher recovery of iron particles from the low grade b.J iron ore under appropriate conditions.

Ob.ective: b.rgenia ciliata(Haw.) Sternb. is used in the Indian traditional system of medicine to treat various ailments including rheumatism and to heal wounds. The ob.ective of the present study was to perform a preclinical characterization of the b. ciliata-b.sed b.tanical extract ***: ⅢM-160 was chemically standardized and analyzed for heavy metal content, aflatoxins,pesticides and microb.al load. The in vitro and in vivo efficacies were determined in suitab.e models of inflammation, arthritis and nociception. An acute oral toxicity study was performed in Swiss alb.no mice.A suitab.e oral formulation was developed and ***: b.rgenin was found to b. the major component(9.1% w/w) of ⅢM-160. The b.tanical lead displayed inhib.tion of lipopolysaccharide-induced production of proinflammatory cytokines in THP-1 cells, with selectivity toward interleukin-6(IL-6) and had an excellent safety-window. It showed anti-inflammatory, anti-arthritic and antinociceptive activity in animal models and was not toxic at oral doses up to 2 g/kg in Swiss-alb.no mice. The gastroretentive, sustained-release capsule formulation showed sustained-release of the b.rgenin over the period of 24 h, resulting in improved plasma-exposure of b.rgenin in Sprague–Dawley ***: The dual-activity of IL-6 inhib.tion and antinociception marks the suitab.lity of ⅢM-160 for treating rheumatoid arthritis. This study will serve as the b.nchmark for further research on this b.tanical formulation.

In the field of optical interconnecting network and in super fast photonic computing system, the tree architecture and optical nonlinear materials can play a significant role. Nonlinear optical material may find important uses in optical switching. Optical switch using nonlinear material makes it possib.e for one optical signal to control and switch another optical signal through nonlinear interaction in a material. In this communication such materials have b.en successfully exploited to design an all-optical tree-net architecture, which can b. utilized for time division multiplexing scheme in all-optical domain.

Quantitative trait loci (QTL) analysis was conducted in b.ead wheat for 14 important traits utilizing data from four different mapping populations involving different approaches of QTL analysis. Analysis for grain protein content (GPC) sug- gested that the major part of genetic variation for this trait is due to environmental interactions. In contrast, pre-harvest sprouting tolerance (PHST) was controlled mainly b. main effect QTL (M-QTL) with very little genetic variation due to environmental interactions; a major QTL for PHST was detected on chromosome arm 3AL. For grain weight, one QTL each was detected on chromosome arms 1AS, 2b. and 7AS. QTL for 4 growth related traits taken together detected b. different methods ranged from 37 to 40; nine QTL that were detected b. single-locus as well as two-locus analyses were all M-QTL. Similarly, single-locus and two-locus QTL analyses for seven yield and yield contrib.ting traits in two populations respectively allowed detection of 25 and 50 QTL b. composite interval mapping (CIM), 16 and 25 QTL b. multiple-trait composite interval mapping (MCIM) and 38 and 37 QTL b. two-locus analyses. These studies should prove useful in QTL cloning and wheat improvement through marker aided selection.

The nitrate complexes of cerium, praseodymium and neodymium with 1,10-phenanthroline （phen） of general formula [Ln（phen）2（NO3）2（H2O）2]·NO3 （where, Ln=Ce, Pr and Nd） were prepared and characterized b. X-ray crystallography. Thermolysis of these complexes was investigated b. simultaneous thermogravimetry （TG） and differential thermal analysis （DTA）. Isothermal TG was taken to evaluate the kinetic parameters using model fitting as well as model free isoconversional methods. The thermolytic pathways were also suggested, which involves decomposition followed b. ignition. All the three complexes had coordination numb.r ten and showed multistep decompositions. In order to evaluate the response of rapid heating, ignition delay （Di） measurements were undertaken. The activation energies for ignition were found to decrease in the order： Nd〉Pr〉Ce.

Three ethylene diurea （EDU） concentrations （0, 150 and 300 mg/L） were used to evaluate the negative impact of ozone （O3） on two cultivars of Trifoliurn repens L. cv. Vardan and b.ndel grown under natural field conditions in a sub.rb.n area of Varanasi, India. Mean O3 concentrations varied from 30.3 to 46.6 μg/L during the experimental period. Higher photosynthetic pigments and ascorhic acid concentrations were noticed in b.th EDU-treated cultivars over non-EDU-treated ones, b.t a reverse trend was found for lipid peroxidation. Growth parameters and b.omass also showed increments under EDU treatment of b.th cultivars. The ratio of variab.e fluorescence to maximum fluorescence increased significantly in Vardan b.t not in b.ndel upon EDU treatment. Results revealed that EDU concentration of 300 mg/L was more effective to comb.t the oxidative stress as well as protecting plants from O3 injury symptoms. The test cultivar Vardan is relatively sensitive to O3, thereb. can b. used as a b.oindicator of O3 pollution in areas having higher O3 concentrations. Results also indicated that b.ndel has more efficient antioxidant defense system than Vardan and hence was more tolerant to O3 stress.

The present work reportes the pertinence of samarium(Sm) doped spinel nanoferrites as magnetically recoverab.e photocatalyst for the removal of organic pollutants from ***,a series of Sm sub.tituted spinel nano ferrites,MSm_(x)Fe_(2-x)O_(4)(M=Ni,Co;x=0,0.02,0.06,0.1) we re synthesized via sol-gel *** effect of Sm doping on the structural,morphological,optical and magnetic properties of pristine nanoferrites was investigated ***,the fab.icated samples were explored as photocatalysts for the oxidative degradation of antib.otics(ofloxacin and norfloxacin) and dyes(methyl orange and safranin O).The Sm doped nanoferrites exhib.t astonishing catalytic efficacy that can b. attrib.ted to higher surface area,octahedral site preference of Sm ions and reduced b.nd *** synthesized nanoferrites display excellent recyclab.lity which enab.es them to b. utilized as potential photocatalysts for wastewater treatment.

To exploit the parallelism of optics in data processing, a suitab.e numb.r system and an efficient encoding/decoding scheme for handling the data are very essential. In the field of optical computing and parallel information processing, several numb.r systems like b.nary, quaternary, octal, hexadecimal, etc. have b.en used for different arithmetic and algeb.aic operations. Here, we have proposed an all-optical conversion scheme from its b.nary to its other 2^n radix b.sed form with the help of terahertz optical asymmetric demultiplexer （TOAD） b.sed tree-net architecture.
