Modeling phase equilibria of semiclathrate hydrates of CH_4,CO_2 and N_2 in aqueous solution of tetra-n-butyl ammonium bromide

semiclathrate hydrates of tetra-n-butyl ammonium bromide （TBAB） offer potential solution for gas storage, transportation, separation of flue gases and CO2 sequestration. Models for phase equilibria for these systems have not yet been developed in open literatures and thus require urgent attention. In this work, the first attempt has been made to model phase equilibria of semiclathrate hydrates of CH4, CO2 and N2 in aqueous solution of TBAB. A thermodynamic model for gas hydrate system as proposed by Chen and Guo has been extended for semiclathrate hydrates of gases in aqueous solution of TBAB. A correlation for the activity of water relating to the system temperature, concentration of TBAB in the system and the nature of guest gas molecule has been proposed. The model results have been validated against available experimental data on phase equilibria of semiclathrate hydrate systems of aqueous TBAB with different gases as guest molecule. The extended Chen and Guo＇s model is found to be suitable to explain the promotion effect of TBAB for the studied gaseous system such as, methane, carbon dioxide and nitrogen as a guest molecule. Additionally, a correlation for the increase in equilibrium formation temperature （hydrate promotion temperature, ATp） of semiclathrate hydrate system with respect to pure gas hydrate system has been developed and applied to semiclathrate hydrate of TBAB with several gases as guest molecules. The developed correlation is found to predict the promotion effect satisfactorily for the system studied.

Imidazolium-Based Ionic Liquids as an Anticorrosive Agent for Completion Fluid Design

Most of the onshore and offshore oil and gas reservoirs are facing operational challenges due to high temperature and high salinity, thus requiring advanced techniques for realizing the ex- pected oil recovery with the use of specially designed chemicals. During oil and gas well development, completion fluids, which are solids-free liquids, are used to complete an oil or gas well. Completion flu- ids consisting of brines are primarily used for oil and gas well stabilization and are corrosive in nature. There is a need to develop additives to be added with completion fluids to address the corrosive nature. The present investigation involved the usage of two imidazolium ionic liquids （ILs） as corrosion inhibi- tors for mild steel in various completion brine （CaCI2, HCOOCs and ZnBr2） fluids. The study was per- formed using various techniques, such as, potentiodynamic polarization, weight loss measurements and exposure studies. All the above techniques showed promising results which indicated that the ILs as corrosion inhibitors used were of the mixed-type following both physisorption and chemisorption over the mild steel surface. Among the two inhibitors studied here, l-octyl-3-methyl imidazolium chlo- ride （[OMIM]^＋[CI]^-） with longer alkyl chain exhibited better inhibition efficiency and much lesser cor- rosion rate than 1-butyl-3-methyl imidazolium chloride （[BMIM]^＋[Ci]^-） with a shorter alkyl chain. The results obtained from various methodologies indicate that ionic liquids can be explored to develop anti-corrosive completion fluids suitable for oil and gas reservoirs.

Performance analysis of a complete adiabatic logic system driven by the proposed power clock generator

We analyze the energy performance of a complete adiabatic circuit/system including the Power Clock Generator （PCG） at the 90 nm CMOs technology node. The energy performance in terms of the conversion efficiency of the PCG is extensively carried out under the variations of supply voltage, process comer and the driver transistor＇s width. We propose an energy-efficient singe cycle control circuit based on the two-stage comparator for the synchronous charge recovery sinusoidal power clock generator （PCG）. The proposed PCG is used to drive the 4-bit adiabatic Ripple Carry Adder （RCA） and their simulation results are compared with the adiabatic RCA driven by the reported PCG. We have also simulated the logically equivalent static CMOs RCA circuit to compare the energy saving of adiabatic and non-adiabatic logic circuits. In the clock frequency range from 25 MHz to 1GHz, the proposed PCG gives a maximum conversion efficiency of 56.48%. This research work shows how the design of an efficient PCG increases the energy saving of adiabatic logic.

Assessment of Diversity, Distribution, Conservation status and Preparation of Management Plan for Medicinal Plants in the Catchment Area of Parbati Hydroelectric Project stage-Ⅲ in Northwestern Himalaya

The developmental activities, particularly the construction of hydroelectric projects are causing a great loss of biodiversity in the Indian Himalayan Region. The Himaehal Pradesh, a part of IHR is well known for the development of hydroelectric projects. The Parbati H.E. Project is amongst the major projects of the state. The different stages of the project are all causing loss of biodiversity of the area. stage Ⅲ of the Parbati H.E. Project is a run of the river scheme on the sainj River downstream of Power House of Parbati H.E. Project stage Ⅱ. The project shall utilize regulated discharge of Parbati H.E. Project stage Ⅱ and inflow of River sainj for power generation, and has been contemplated as a peaking station operating in tandem with stage Ⅱ. The present study has been undertaken to see the impact of hydroelectric project on the biodiversity, particularly on medicinal plants. A total of 104 species of medicinal plants, belonging to different life forms, i.e., trees （23 spp.）, shrubs （22 spp.）, herbs （57 spp.） and ferns （2 spp.） were recorded. The species have been analyzed and studied for their distribution, classification, altitudinal zones, part （s） used, indigenous uses, nativity, endemism and *** parts of these species, such as whole plants, roots （including rhizomes and tubers）, leaves, flowers, fruits, seeds, stems, barks, spikes, nuts and insect galls are used by the inhabitants for curing various diseases and ailments. 3o species are native to the Himalayan region, 9 species native to the Himalayan region and adjacent countries also and 65 species are non-natives. 9 species are near endemics. Considering the whole Himalaya as a biogeographie unit （sensu lato）, the near endemics are endemic to the Himalaya. Among these species, Zanthoxylum armature is categorized as Endangered and Valeriana wallichii as Vulnerable. Alkaline phosphatase as a bio-indicator of phosphorus-eutrophy in freshwater ecosystems: A review

Limnologists have greatly advanced the understanding of indicators of phosphorus(P)-eutrophy in surface waters. Biotic variables such as macro-invertebrates, fish, zooplankton, benthic algae, and diatoms are extensively used for bio-assessment of eutrophy. New concepts highlight the importance of bed-sediment based “response” variables predicting functional shifts during eutrophication. A cross analysis of studies reveals that alkaline phosphatase(ALP), which serves as a proxy of P-deficiency, and also as an indicator of benthic anoxia/hypoxia-driven feedbacks, can be an easy to measure, cost-effective and reliable tool to assess changes in nutrient stoichiometry, trophic status, and ecological functioning at the sediment-water interface. Here, the issues discussed in this paper are highly relevant to explore new domains of research and “response” based ecosystem models for potential eutrophication management decisions. Because ALP is used in molecular cloning and fingerprinting studies, it is suggested that approaches based on the “omics” technologies need to be used to explore more intricate connections to empirically address ALP-P-eutrophy linkages to track eutrophication in freshwater ecosystems.

In this work,we have explored wormhole(WH)solutions in F(R,L_(m))gravity by assuming the Morris-Thorne WH metric and F(R,Lm)=R/2+(1+γR)L_(m),whereγis the free model *** determined the WH solutions by utilizing two newly developed shape functions(sF)that satisfy all basic conditions for a WH’s physical *** also observe that the null energy condition(NEC)behaves ***,for both models,we use the volume integral quantifier(VIQ)and Tolman-Oppenheimer-Volkoff(TOV)equation to determine how much exotic matter is needed near the WH throat and the stability of the *** extensive detailed discussions of the matter components have been done via graphical *** obtained WH geometries meet the physically acceptable conditions for a stable wormhole.

Prediction of compaction parameters for fine-grained soil: Critical comparison of the deep learning and standalone models

A comparison between deep learning and standalone models in predicting the compaction parameters of soil is presented in this *** hundred and ninety and fifty-three soil samples were randomly picked up from two hundred and forty-three soil samples to create training and validation datasets,*** performance and accuracy of the models were measured by root mean square error(RMsE),coefficient of determination(R2),Pearson product-moment correlation coefficient(r),mean absolute error(MAE),variance accounted for(VAF),mean absolute percentage error(MAPE),weighted mean absolute percentage error(WMAPE),a20-index,index of scatter(IOs),and index of agreement(IOA).Comparisons between standalone models demonstrate that the model MD 29 in Gaussian process regression(GPR)and model MD 101 in support vector machine(sVM)can achieve over 96%of accuracy in predicting the optimum moisture content(OMC)and maximum dry density(MDD)of soil,and outperformed other standalone *** comparison between deep learning models shows that the models MD 46 and MD 146 in long short-term memory(LsTM)predict OMC and MDD with higher accuracy than ANN ***,the LsTM models outperformed the GPR models in predicting the compaction *** sensitivity analysis illustrates that fine content(FC),specific gravity(sG),and liquid limit(LL)highly influence the prediction of compaction parameters.

A new framework for population balance modeling of spray fluidized bed agglomeration

Previous work （Hussain et al. （2013）. Chemical Engineering science, 101, 35） has pointed out that the conventional, one-dimensional population balance equation for aggregation can be expanded to accurately reproduce the results of discrete simulations of spray fluidized bed agglomeration. However, some parameters had to be imported from the discrete simulation （Monte-Carlo）. The present paper shows how the expanded population balance can be run without importing parameters from the Monte-Carlo simulation. The expanded population balance still reproduces the results of Monte-Carlo simulations accurately, taking into account key micro-scale phenomena （sessile droplet drying, efficiency of collisions）, but with much lower computational cost. Required input parameters are just the drying time of sessile droplets （calculated in advance）, and the prefactor of an equation that correlates particle collision frequency with fluidized bed expansion. In this way, the expanded population balance is, apart from autonomous, also （nearly） predictive. Its performance is demonstrated by comparisons with both Monte-Carlo results and experimental data for various operating conditions （binder mass flow rate, gas temperature）. Despite formally being a one-dimensional expression, the expanded population balance captures additional properties, such as the number of wet particles and the number of droplets in the system, which are even difficult to measure in exoeriments.

A Robust Fractional Order Fuzzy P ＋ Fuzzy I ＋ Fuzzy D Controller for Nonlinear and Uncertain system

In this paper, a robust fractional order fuzzy P ＋ fuzzy I ＋ fuzzy D （FOFP ＋ FOFI ＋ FOFD） controller is presented for a nonlinear and uncertain 2-1ink planar rigid manipulator. It is a nonlinear fuzzy controller with variable gains that makes it self- adjustable or adaptive in nature. The fractional order operators further make it more robust by providing additional degrees of freedom to the design engineer. The integer order counterpart, fuzzy P ＋ fuzzy I ＋ fuzzy D （FP ＋ FI ＋ FD） controller, for a comparative study, was realized by taking the integer value for the fractional order operators in FOFP ＋ FOFI ＋ FOFD controller. The performances of both the fuzzy controllers are evaluated for reference trajectory tracking and disturbance rejection with and without model uncertainty and measurement noise. Genetic algorithm was used to optimize the parameters of controller under study for minimum integral of absolute error. simulation results demonstrated that FOFP ＋ FOFI ＋ FOFD controller show much better performance as compared to its counterpart FP ＋ FI ＋ FD controller in servo as well as the regulatory problem and in model uncertainty and noisy environment FOFP ＋ FOFI ＋ FOFD controller demonstrated more robust behavior as compared to the FP ＋ FI ＋ FD controller. For the developed controller bounded-input and bounded-output stability conditions are also developed using small Gain Theorem.
