Microstructure Evolution and Tensile Properties of Pure Ti Subjected to Rapidly Heating and Quenching

The pure α-Ti samples were heated at an extremely high rate （～10^6 K/s） to the temperature of β phase zone followed by a rapidly quenching in an electro-pulsing treatment. After the treatment, micrometer-thick lamellar substructures were generated within the original equiaxed α-Ti coarse grains. Misorientations across adjacent lamellae are of a few degrees. The ultrafine lamellar substructures originated from a non-equilibrium α-β-α’ phase transformation during rapidly heating-quenching process with a short exposure time at high temperatures. Tensile strength was increased by about 100 MPa due to the formation of the ultrafine lamellar substructure while the same tensile plasticity （elongation-to-failure） was maintained relative to the original sample. The strengthening effect could be attributed to the effective blockage of dislocation motions by a high density of sub-boundaries.

IrO_(2)exhibits good stability but limited electrocatalytic activity for oxygen evolution reaction in *** engineering is an effective strategy to improve the intrinsic ability of electrocatalysts by tailoring their electronic ***,we have successfully synthesized IrO_(2)/Ir heterophase with compressive strain and metal vacancies via a simple substitution-etching *** virtue of the solubility of Cr in strong alkali,metal vacancies could be formed at surface after etching Cr-doped IrO_(2)/Ir in alkali,which leaded to modulated electronic ***,the substitution of Cr with smaller atom radius would induce the formation of compressive strain and the relocated atoms made the d-band center *** the regulated electronic structure and tuned d-band center,the obtained electrocatalyst only needed 285 mV to reach 10 mA·cm^(−2)in 0.1 M *** kinetic has been rapidly accelerated as indicated by the smaller Tafel slope and charge transfer *** calculations revealed that the d-band center and charge density distribution have been regulated with the introduction of defects in IrO_(2)/Ir,which significantly decreased the free energy barrier of rate determining *** work provides a valuable reference to design effective and defects-rich electrocatalysts.

Plants produce nutritious,fleshy fruits that attract various animals to facilitate seed dispersal and recruitment ***-specific differential selection of seed size by multiple frugivorous disperser assemblages may affect the subsequent germination of the ingested ***,there is little empirical evidence supporting this *** the present study,we documented conflicting selection pressures exerted on seed size and germination by five frugivorous carnivores on a mammal-dispersed pioneer tree,the date-plum persimmon(Diospyros lotus),in a subtropical *** analyses revealed that these carnivores acted as primary seed dispersers of *** also observed that seed sizes were selected based on body mass and were species-specific,confirming the“gape limitation”hypothesis;three small carnivores(the masked palm civet Paguma larvata,yellow-throated marten Martes flavigula,and Chinese ferret-badger Melogale moschata)significantly preferred to disperse smaller seeds in comparison with control seeds obtained directly from wild plants whereas the largest Asiatic black bears(Ursus thibetanus)ingested larger *** dispersed by medium-sized hog badgers(Arctonyx albogularis)were not significantly different from control ***,regarding the influence of gut passage on seed germination,three arboreal dispersal agents(martens,civets,and bears)enhanced germination success whereas terrestrial species(ferret-badgers and hog badgers)inhibited the germination process compared with undigested control *** conflicting selection pressures on seed size and germination may enhance the heterogeneity of germination dynamics and thus increase species fitness through diversification of the regeneration *** results advance our understanding of seed dispersal mechanisms and have important implications for forest recruitment and ecosystem dynamics.

Co_(3)O_(4) has been widely explored in electrocatalytic 5-hydroxymethyl-furfural(HMF) oxidation. However,the poor intrinsic ability has seriously limited its electrochemical ability. Heteroatom-doping is an efficient method to enhance the electrocatalytic ability of catalyst by regulating electronic structure. Herein,we have modulated the electronic structure of Co_(3)O_(4) by high valance Mo^(6+)-doping. With the introduction of Mo^(6+), the content of Co^(2+) was increased and metal-oxygen bond was strength. Electrochemical results suggested that the electrocatalytic ability of Co_(3)O_(4) towards HMF oxidation has been dramatically improved and reaction kinetics has been fasten. Theoretical calculations demonstrated that the surrounding cobalt sites after Mo^(6+)-doping with assembled electron has a strong adsorption ability towards HMF molecule leading to more favourable oxidation of HMF. Post characterizations demonstrated pristine Co_(3)O_(4) structure was kept after electrolysis cycles and CoOOH active species were formed. This work provides a valuable reference for developing efficient heteroatom-doped electrocatalysts for HMF oxidation.

Ice storms,as important sources of frequent and injurious disturbances,drive forest dynamics in the Northern ***,stand-level differential vulnerability to ice storms and the associated factors that predispose forest stands remain *** is particularly concerning in the subtropics where the frequency of ice storms is predicted to increase with global *** we assessed how the impact on three forest stands(early and late secondary-growth forests,and old-growth forests)differed after an extreme ice storm during 20–21 March 2022,and identified the abiotic and biotic factors that determine the damage intensity in the Shennongjia World Natural Heritage Site,a biodiversity conservation hotspot in central *** found a stand-specific‘middomain effect’where the late secondary-growth forest sustained the most severe damage,the early secondarygrowth forest sustained the least,and the old-growth forest suffered an intermediate amount.‘Crown broken’was the most severe damage type across all three forest stands,although the proportion of‘branch broken’was also high in the old-growth *** played a significant role in determining the vulnerability of the early secondary-growth forest to severe ice storms whereas the forest structure and composition were important factors in explaining the damage rates in the old-growth forest,although they differed among the damage *** contrast,topography,forest structure and composition generally explain the intensity of damage in the late secondary-growth *** results highlight that,in subtropical forests,the intensity of damage caused by severe ice storms and related determining factors are stand-level *** also suggest exploring potential management strategies(e.g.,slow-growing hardwood species that can resist storms should be the main species for reforestation in early secondary-growth forests)to mitigate the risk of future severe ice storms,as well as other wind-related cli

Stimuli-triggered release and alleviating resistance of iridium(Ⅲ)-based drugs at tumor sites remains challengeable for clinical hepatoma ***,a doxorubicin@iridium-transferrin(DOX@Ir-TF)nanovesicle was synthesized by carboxylated-transferrin(TF)and doxorubicin-loaded amphiphilic iridium-amino with quaternary ammonium(QA)groups and disulfide *** QA groups enhanced photophysical properties and broadened production capacity of photoinduced-reactive oxygen species(ROS),while the disulfide-bridged bonds regulated oxidative stress levels through reacting with glutathione(GSH);simultaneously,modification of TF improved recognition and endocytosis of the nanovesicle for tumor *** on in-vitro results,a controlled-release behavior of DOX upon a dualresponsiveness of GSH and near-infrared ray(NIR)irradiation was presented,along with high-efficiency generation of *** an intravenous injection,the nanovesicle was targeted at tumor sites,realizing TF-navigated photoacoustic imaging guidance and synergistic chemotherapy-photodynamic therapy under NIR/GSH ***,newly-synthesized DOX@Ir-TF nanovesicle provided a potential in subcutaneous hepatocellular carcinoma therapy due to integrations of targeting delivery,dual-stimuli responsive release,synergistic therapy strategy,and real-time monitoring.

Objective:The objective is to investigate the effect of five‑animal frolics on anxiety and depression of hospitalized *** and Methods:Totally 50 inpatients from departments of Internal Medicine,Surgery and General Medicine with hospital admission date between January 2019 and July 2020 were *** patients exercise five‑animal frolics under the professional guidance of the nurse in *** Hospital Anxiety and Depression Scale(HADS)was used to assess the conditions of anxiety and depression of patients before and after taking five‑animal frolics ***:The overall score of anxiety patients was significantly lower after five‑animal frolics exercise than before[6.0(5.0,8.0)vs.10.0(8.0,12.0),Z=‑5.466,P<0.001];the overall depression score of patients was significantly lower after five‑animal frolics exercise than before[6.5(4.0,8.0)vs.10.0(8.0,14.0),Z=‑5.175,P<0.001].There were 26(52.0%)very effective cases after exercise,16(32.0%)effective cases,8(16.0%)invalid cases,and the effective rate was 84.0%Conclusion:Taking five‑animal frolics exercise can improve anxiety and depression of inpatients.
