High-precision magnetic field measurement system based on a coherent population trapping magnetometer onboard the SATech-01 satellite

On July 27, 2022, a high-precision system for measuring the magnetic field based on a coherent population trapping magnetometer（referred to as the CPT system） was launched onboard the Space Advanced Technology demonstration satellite（SATech-01） by a ZK-1A rocket. The payload comprises a scalar coherent population trapping magnetometer（CPTM）, triaxial anisotropic magnetoresistance magnetometer（AMRM）, and nano star tracker mounted on a non-magnetic telescopic tubular mast. This configuration enables synchronized measurement of scalar and vector geomagnetic fields, as well as the attitude,making the payload with its compact sensors suitable for applications on miniature satellite platforms. On november 7, 2022,the novel telescopic tubular mast was deployed in orbit, extending to a length of 5.28 m. The CPTM, an absolute scalar magnetometer with an omnidirectional sensor, is the first China-developed quantum/atomic magnetometer successfully operating in space. In orbit, the CPTM has sensitivity of ～10 pT/Hz1/2and can automatically operate under complex magnetic field variations. The difference between the scalar fields obtained using the CPTM and CHAOS model has a mean deviation of–3.73 n T and a standard deviation of 26.11 nT（1σ）, without on-orbit calibration or correction. The miniaturized AMRM has a sensitivity of ～0.3 n T/Hz1/2and maintains stable and reliable operation in orbit. The low-power and miniaturized nano star tracker has a measurement uncertainty of 14.23″（1σ） in orbit. The mission has realized the on-orbit technical verification of the integrated and synchronized detection of the vector magnetic field and attitude and fully validated the system's performance,automation level, and reliability.

A patatin-like protein synergistically regulated by jasmonate and ethylene signaling pathways plays a negative role in nicotiana attenuata resistance to Alternaria alternata

Although patatin was initially identified as a major storage protein in potato tubers, patatin-like proteins(PLPs) have been recently reported to be widely present in many plant species and shown to be involved in plant-pathogen interactions. However, it is not clear whether PLPs are involved in nicotiana attenuata resistance against the necrotrophic fungal pathogen, Alternaria alternata. In this study we identified a naPLP gene, whose expression was highly elicited by A. alternata inoculation. Silencing naPLP enhanced n. attenuata resistance to A. alternata, which was associated with higher induction levels of JA and ethylene biosynthetic genes, naACS1, naACO1 and naLOX3. The induction of naPLP expression by the fungus was abolished in JA-deficient plants and significantly reduced in ethylene-insensitive plants. In addition, naPLP transcripts were highly induced by exogenous treatment with either methyl jasmonate(MeJA) or ethephon. Co-treatment with MeJA and ethephon led to a much higher induction level of naPLP transcripts, and this synergistic induction was largely dependent on endogenous JA and ethylene signaling pathways. Thus, we conclude that the naPLP gene is elicited by A. alternata via JA and ethylene signaling pathways in a synergistic way; however, unlike other JA-and ethylene-induced defense genes,naPLP negatively affects plant resistance to the fungus likely by suppressing JA and ethylene biosynthetic gene expression.

Photocatalytic Activities of TiO_2 Coated on Different Semiconductive SiC Foam Supports

Different semiconductive SiC foam supports were prepared by vary.ng the sintering temperature and atmosphere, and with or without alkaline solution treatment and high temperature oxidation following a macromolecule pyrogenation combined with reaction bonding method. nano-TiO2 particles were immobilized onto these SiC foam supports by a composite sol-gel method. The phase, surface morphology, the type of conduction and the photocatalytic activity of the TiO2-SiC composite photocatalysts were studied. The TiO2 coated on p-type Si-free SiC support showed the highest photocatalytic efficiency in degradation of 4- aminobenzenesulfonic acid （4-ABS） in aqueous solution as compared to that coated on n-type SiC support and p-type SiC supports with residual Si or Si02 on the surface. The result showed that the TiO2 coatings immobilized on p-type semiconductive SiC foam supports exhibited obviously higher photocatalytic activity in comparison to that coated on n-type SiC foam support. The p-n heterojunctions formed between the p-type SiC supports and n-type TiO2 coatings might be able to account for the better charge separation and transfer as well as the photocatalytic activity of the TiO2-SiC composite photocatalyst.

Unmanned and aerial systems as interactors among different system components for communications,have opened up great opportunities for truth data discovery in Mobile Crowd Sensing(MCS)which has not been properly solved in the *** this paper,an Unmanned Aerial Vehicles-supported Intelligent Truth Discovery(UAV-ITD)scheme is proposed to obtain truth data at low-cost communications for *** main innovations of the UAV-ITD scheme are as follows:(1)UAV-ITD scheme takes the first step in employ.ng UAV joint Deep Matrix Factorization(DMF)to discover truth data based on the trust mechanism for an Information Elicitation Without Verification(IEWV)problem in MCS.(2)This paper introduces a truth data discovery scheme for the first time that only.needs to collect a part of n data samples to infer the data of the entire network with high accuracy,which saves more communication costs than most previous data collection schemes,where they collect n or kn data ***,we conducted extensive experiments to evaluate the UAV-ITD *** results show that compared with previous schemes,our scheme can reduce estimated truth error by 52.25%–96.09%,increase the accuracy of workers’trust evaluation by 0.68–61.82 times,and save recruitment costs by 24.08%–54.15%in truth data discovery.

Seasonal dynamics of foliar δ^(13)C and nutrient concentration of Chinese chastetree and spine jujube in foothill rock outcrop habitat of the southern Taihang Mountains, Central China

In this study, in situ investigation was conducted on Chinese chastetree(Vitex negundo var. heterophylla)and spine jujube(Ziziphus jujuba var. spinosa) during early, developed, and closing succession stages. Monthly data were recorded for foliar δ^(13)C values and foliar n, P,and K concentrations from May to October. Foliar δ^(13)C values declined with time and differences by succession stage varied by species. Older spine jujube displayed higher foliar n concentration while foliar P concentration was inversely related with n. Chinese chastetree had lower foliar K concentration than spine jujube. Foliar C/n ratio declined during the dry season and increased in the wet season. Foliar n/P ratio increased during the dry season and declined to its initial level until October, when it increased again. Foliar δ^(13)C value was positively correlated with foliar n concentration. Foliar P and K concentrations were positively correlated to each other. In conclusion, the two shrubs had contrasting strategies of water use efficiency during their succession, but water use efficiency of both species was promoted by.n availability and limited by P availability.

Dynamic alarm prediction for critical alarms using a probabilistic model

Alarm systems play important roles for the safe and efficient operation of modern industrial plants. Critical alarms are configured with a higher priority and are safety related among many other alarms. If critical alarms can be predicted in advance, the operator will have more time to prevent them from happening. In this paper,we present a dynamic alarm prediction algorithm, which is a probabilistic model that utilizes alarm data from distributed control system, to calculate the occurrence probability of critical alarms. It accounts for the local interdependences among the alarms using the n-gram model, which occur because of the nonlinear relationships between variables. Finally, the dynamic alarm prediction algorithm is applied to an industrial case study.

This work presents a simple effective strategy to synthesize n-doped and shell-controlled carbon nanocages through a package baking approach.A green approach to synthesize core-shell ZIF-8@PTZ nanoparticles involves zinc contained ZIF-8 core wrapped by a n-enriched polytriazine(PTZ).Synthesized core-shell ZIF-8@PTZ nanoparticles are calcinated to further sublime zinc through PTZ shell and washed by HC1,leaving a porous carbon *** the meantime,hollow cavities were introduced into n-doped carbon polyhedrons via the sacrifice of ZIF-8 template(noted as ZIF-8@C/n-x).The electrochemical performance of the ZIF-8@C/n-x as supercapacitor electrode has demonstrated high energy density and specific capacitance,as well as a long-term cycleability showing 92%capacitance retention after 10000 *** is a systematic correlation between micro-/meso-porosity of ZIF-8@C/n-x and their electrochemical performances.

The Oblique Alfvén Ion Beam Instability in the Earth’s Ion Foreshock

How ions evolve in the Earth’s ion foreshock is a basic problem in the heliosphere community,and the ion beam instability is usually proposed to be one major mechanism affecting the ion dynamics *** work will perform comprehensive analyses of the oblique ion beam instability in the Earth’s ion *** show that in addition to two well-known parallel instabilities (i.e.,the parallel fast-magnetosonic whistler instability and the parallel Alfvén ion cyclotron instability),the oblique Alfvén ion beam (OA/IB) instability can also be triggered by free energy relating to the relative drift d V between the solar wind proton and reflected proton *** slow d V (e.g.,d V■2.2V_(A),where VAdenotes the Alfvén speed),it only triggers the OA/IB *** d V■2.2V_(A),the growth rate in the OA/IB instability can be about 0.6 times the maximum growth rate in parallel ***,this work finds the existence of two types of OA/IB *** first one appears at slow d V and in the small wavenumber region at fast d V,and this instability can be described by the cold fluid *** second one arises in large wavenumber regions at fast d V,and this instability only appears in warm ***,through the energy transfer rate method,we propose that the OA/IB instability is driven by the competition among the Landau and cyclotron wave-particle interactions of beam protons,the cyclotron wave-particle interaction of core protons,and the Landau wave-particle interaction of *** oblique waves can experience significant damping,the importance of the OA/IB instability may be the effective heating of ions in the Earth’s foreshock.

naPDR1 and naPDR1-like are essential for the resistance of nicotiana attenuata against fungal pathogen Alternaria alternata

Pleiotropic drug resistance(PDR) transporters are widely distributed membrane proteins catalyzing the export or import of a diverse array of molecules, and are involved in many plant responses to biotic and abiotic stresses. However, it is unclear whether PDRs are involved in nicotiana attenuata resistance to the necrotic fungal pathogen Alternaria alternata. In this study, transcriptional levels of both naPDR1 and naPDR1-like were highly induced in n. attenuata leaves after A. alternata inoculation. Interestingly,silencing naPDR1 or naPDR1-like individually had little effect on n. attenuata resistance to A. alternata;however, when both genes were co-silenced plants became highly susceptible to the fungus, which was associated with elevated JA and ethylene responses. neither naPDR1 nor naPDR1-like was significantly elicited by exogenous treatment with methyl jasmonate(MeJA), whereas both were highly induced by ethylene. The elicitation levels of both genes by A. alternata were significantly reduced in plants with impaired JA or ethylene signaling pathways. Thus, we conclude that both naPDR1 and naPDR1-like function redundantly to confer resistance against A. alternata in n. attenuata, and the elicitation of the transcripts of both genes by the fungus is partially dependent on ethylene and jasmonate signaling.

Multicolor Luminescent Carbon nanoparticles： Synthesis, Supramolecular Assembly with Porphyrin, Intrinsic Peroxidase-Like Catalytic Activity and Applications

Luminescent carbon nanoparticles （CnPs） are newcomers to the world of nanomaterials and have shown great impact in health and environmental applications as well as being promising building blocks for future nanodevices because of their fascinating photoluminescence and potential to serve as nontoxic replacements for traditional heavy-metals-based quantum dots. Herein, fluorescent CnPs have been prepared from candle soot by re fluxing with HnO3 and subsequently separated by a single centrifugation. The CnPs can be represented by the empirical formula C1Ho.677Oo.586no.o15nao.069, and have a size of 20-100 nm, height of 3.0 nm, lifetime of 7.31 ns ＋ 0.06 ns and quantum yield of -1.7%. Further studies demonstrate that：（1）the as-prepared CnPs exhibit excellent stability in biological media and their luminescence intensity does not change with ionic strength or pH in the physiological and pathological range of pH 4.5-8.8; （2） CnPs can act as electron donors and transporters and porphyrin can assemble onto CnPs through electrostatic and ^-stacking interactions to form porphyrin-CnPs supramolecular composites; （3）CnPs have strong intrinsic peroxidase-like activity. Based on this intrinsic peroxidase activity, a simple, cheap, and highly selective and sensitive colorimetric and quantitative assay has been developed for the detection of glucose levels. This assay has been used to analyze real samples, such as diluted blood and fruit juice.
