Intrumer:A Multi Module Distributed Explainable IDS/IPS for Securing Cloud Environment

The increasing use of cloud-based devices has reached the critical point of cybersecurity and unwanted network *** environments pose significant challenges in maintaining privacy and *** approaches,such as IDS,have been developed to tackle these ***,most conventional Intrusion Detection System(IDS)models struggle with unseen cyberattacks and complex high-dimensional *** fact,this paper introduces the idea of a novel distributed explainable and heterogeneous transformer-based intrusion detection system,named INTRUMER,which offers balanced accuracy,reliability,and security in cloud settings bymultiplemodulesworking together within *** traffic captured from cloud devices is first passed to the TC&TM module in which the Falcon Optimization Algorithm optimizes the feature selection process,and Naie bayes algorithm performs the classification of *** selected features are classified further and are forwarded to the Heterogeneous Attention Transformer(HAT)*** this module,the contextual interactions of the network traffic are taken into account to classify them as normal or malicious *** classified results are further analyzed by the Explainable Prevention Module(XPM)to ensure trustworthiness by providing interpretable *** the explanations fromthe classifier,emergency alarms are transmitted to nearby IDSmodules,servers,and underlying cloud devices for the enhancement of preventive *** experiments on benchmark IDS datasets CICIDS 2017,Honeypots,and NSL-KDD were conducted to demonstrate the efficiency of the INTRUMER model in detecting network trafficwith high accuracy for different *** outperforms state-of-the-art approaches,ob.aining better performance metrics:98.7%accuracy,97.5%precision,96.3%recall,and 97.8%*** results validate the robustness and effectiveness of INTRUMER in securing diverse cloud environments against sophisticated cyber threats.

Federated Learning’s Role in Next-Gen TV Ad Optimization

In the rapidly evolving landscape of television advertising,optimizing ad schedules to maximize viewer engagement and revenue has become *** methods often operate in silos,limiting the potential insights gained from broader data analysis due to concerns over privacy and data *** article introduces a novel approach that leverages Federated Learning(FL)to enhance TV ad schedule optimization,combining the strengths of local optimization techniques with the power of global Machine Learning(ML)models to uncover actionable insights without compromising data *** combines linear programming for initial ads scheduling optimization with ML—specifically,a K-Nearest Neighbors(KNN)model—for predicting ad spot *** into account the diversity and the difficulty of the ad-scheduling problem,we propose a prescriptivepredictive approach in which first the position of the ads is optimized(using Google’s OR-Tools CP-SAT)and then the scheduled position of all ads will be the result of the optimization ***,this output becomes the target of a predictive task that predicts the position of new entries based on their characteristics ensuring the implementation of the scheduling at large scale(using KNN,Light Gradient boosting Machine and Random Forest).Furthermore,we explore the integration of FL to enhance predictive accuracy and strategic insight across different broadcasting networks while preserving data *** FL approach resulted in 8750 ads being precisely matched to their optimal category placements,showcasing an alignment with the intended diversity ***,there was a minimal deviation observed,with 1133 ads positioned within a one-category variance from their ideal placement in the original dataset.

AN UNSTRUCTURED FINITE-VOLUME ALGORITHM FOR NONLINEAR TWO-DIMENSIOAL SHALLOW WATER EQUATION

An unstructured finite-volume numerical algorithm was presented for solution of the two-dimensional shallow water equations, based on triangular or arbitrary quadrilateral meshes. The Roe type approximate Riemann solver was used to the system. A second-order TVD scheme with the van Leer limiter was used in the space discretization and a two-step Runge-Kutta approach was used in the time discretization. An upwind, as opposed to a pointwise, treatment of the slope source terms was adopted and the semi-implicit treatment was used for the friction source terms. Verification for two-dimension dam-break problems are carried out by comparing the present results with others and very good agreement is shown.

A reduced-order model for fast predicting ionized flows of hypersonic vehicles along flight trajectory

An improved Reduced-Order Model(ROM)is proposed based on a flow-solution preprocessing operation and a fast sampling strategy to efficiently and accurately predict ionized hypersonic *** ROM is generated in low-dimensional space by performing the Proper Orthogonal Decomposition(POD)on snapshots and is coupled with the Radial basis Function(RbF)to achieve fast prediction ***,due to the disparate scales in the ionized flow field,the conventional ROM usually generates spurious negative ***,this issue is addressed by performing flow-solution preprocessing in logarithmic space to improve the conventional ***,extra orthogonal polynomials are introduced in the RbF interpolation to achieve additional improvement of the prediction *** addition,to construct high-efficiency snapshots,a trajectory-constrained adaptive sampling strategy based on convex hull optimization is *** evaluate the performance of the proposed fast prediction method,two hypersonic vehicles with classic configurations,i.e.a wave-rider and a reentry capsule,are used to validate the proposed *** two cases show that the proposed fast prediction method has high accuracy near the vehicle surface and the free-stream region where the flow field is *** with the conventional ROM prediction,the prediction results are significantly improved by the proposed method around the discontinuities,*** shock wave and the ionized *** a result,the proposed fast prediction method reduces the error of the conventional ROM by at least 45%,with a speedup of approximately 2.0×105compared to the Computational Fluid Dynamic(CFD)*** test cases demonstrate that the method developed here is efficient and accurate for predicting ionized hypersonic flows.

Calib.ation of Discrete Element Heat Transfer Parameters by Central Composite Design

The efficiency and precision of parameter calib.ation in discrete element method （DEM） are not satisfactory, and parameter calib.ation for granular heat transfer is rarely involved. Accordingly, parameter calib.ation for granular heat transfer with the DEM is studied. The heat transfer in granular assemblies is simulated with DEM, and the effective thermal conductivity （ETC） of these granular assemblies is measured with the transient method in simulations. The measurement testbed is designed to test the ETC of the granular assemblies under normal pressure and a vacuum based on the steady method. Central composite design （CCD） is used to simulate the impact of the DEM parameters on the ETC of granular assemblies, and the heat transfer parameters are calib.ated and compared with experimental data. The results show that, within the scope of the considered parameters, the ETC of the granular assemblies increases with an increasing particle thermal conductivity and decreases with an increasing particle shear modulus and particle diameter. The particle thermal conductivity has the greatest impact on the ETC of granular assemblies followed by the particle shear modulus and then the particle diameter. The calib.ation results show good agreement with the experimental results. The error is less than 4%, which is within a reasonable range for the scope of the CCD parameters. The proposed research provides high efficiency and high accuracy parameter calib.ation for granular heat transfer in DEM.

The pressure swing adsorption(PSA)system is widely applied to separate and purify hydrogen from gaseous *** extended Langmuir equation fitted from the extended Langmuir-Freundlich isotherm has been used to predict the adsorption isothermal of hydrogen and methane on the zeolite 5A adsorbent bed.A six-step two-bed PSA model for hydrogen purification is developed and validated by comparing its simulation results with other *** effects of the adsorption pressure,the P/F ratio,the adsorption step time and the pressure equalization time on the performance of the hydrogen purification system are studied.A four-step two-bed PSA model is taken into consideration,and the six-step PSA system shows higher about 13%hydrogen recovery than the four-step PSA *** performance of the vacuum pressure swing adsorption(VPSA)system is compared with that of the PSA system,the VPSA system shows higher hydrogen purity than the PSA *** on the validated PSA model,a dataset has been produced to train the artificial neural network(ANN)*** effects of the number of neurons in the hidden layer and the number of samples used for training ANN model on the predicted performance of ANN model are ***,the well-trained ANN model with 6 neurons in the hidden layer is applied to predict the performance of the PSA system for hydrogen ***-objective optimization of hydrogen purification system is performed based on the trained ANN *** artificial neural network can be considered as a very effective method for predicting and optimizing the performance of the PSA system for hydrogen purification.

Aerodynamic configuration integration design of hypersonic cruise aircraft with inward-turning inlets

In this work, a novel airframe/propulsion integration design method of the wing-body configuration for hypersonic cruise aircraft is proposed, where the configuration is integrated with inward-turning inlets. With the help of this method, the major design concern of balancing the aerodynamic performance against the requirements for efficient propulsion can be well addressed. A novel geometric parametrically modelling method based on a combination of patched class and shape transition（CST） and COONs surface is proposed to represent the configuration, especially a complex configuration with an irregular inlet lip shape. The modelling method enlarges the design space of components on the premise of guaranteeing the configuration integrity via special constraints imposed on the interface across adjacent surfaces. A basic flow inside a cone shaped by a dual-inflection-point generatrix is optimized to generate the inward-turning inlet with improvements of both compression efficiency and flow uniformity. The performance improvement mechanism of this basic flow is the compression velocity variation induced by the variation of the generatrix slope along the flow path. At the design point, numerical simulation results show that the lift-to-drag ratio of the configuration is as high as 5.2 and the inlet works well with a high level of compression efficiency and flow uniformity. The design result also has a good performance on off-design conditions. The achievement of all the design targets turns out that the integration design method proposed in this paper is efficient and practical.

Distance-based formation tracking control of multi-agent systems with double-integrator dynamics

This paper addresses the distance-based formation tracking problem for a double-integrator modeled multi-agent system（MAS） in the presence of a moving leader in d-dimensional space. Under the assumption that the state of leader can be ob.ained over fixed graphs, a distributed distance-based control protocol is designed for each double-integrator follower agent. The protocol consists of three terms： a gradient function term, a velocity consensus term, and a leader tracking *** shape stabilizing functions proposed in the literature can be applied to the gradient function term. The proposed controller allows all agents to both achieve the desired shape and reach the same velocity with moving leader by controlling the distances and velocity. Finally, we analyze the local asymptotic stability of the equilibrium set with center manifold theory. We validate the effectiveness of our approach through two examples.
