Alpine wetland is one of the typical underlying surfaces on the Qinghai–Tibet *** plays a crucial role in runoff *** on the mechanisms of water and heat exchanges are necessary to understand the land surface processes over the alpine *** study explores the characteristics of hydro-meteorological factors with in situ observations and uses the Community Land Model 5 to identify the main factors controlling water and heat *** heat flux and thermal roughness length were found to be greater in the warm season(June–August)than in the cold season(December–February),with a frozen depth of 20–40 cm over the alpine *** transfers of heat fluxes were mainly controlled by longwave radiation and air temperature and affected by root *** pressure and stomatal conductance were also important to latent heat flux,and soil solid water content was important to sensible heat *** temperature was dominated by longwave radiation and air temperature,with crucial surface parameters of initial soil liquid water content and total water *** atmospheric control factors transitioned to precipitation and air temperature for soil moisture,especially at the shallow layer(5 cm).Meanwhile,the more influential surface parameters were root distribution and stomatal conductance in the warm season and initial soil liquid water content and total water content in the cold *** work contributes to the research on the land surface processes over the alpine wetland and is helpful to wetland protection.

An adpA homologue in Streptomyces avermitilis is involved in regulation of morphogenesis and melanogenesis

In Streptomyces griseus, AdpA, the key transcriptional activator in the A-factor regulatory cascade, switches on the transcription of multiple genes required for secondary metabolism and morphological differentiation. Streptomyces avermitilis also contains an ortholog of adpA, which is named adpA-a. To clarify the in vivo function of adpA-a, an adpA-a-disrupted strain was constructed by double crossover recombination. No difference in avermectin production was found between the adpA-a-disruptant and the wild-type strain. However, this disruptant neither formed spores nor produced melanin and its phenotype was restored to the original wild-type by a single copy of the adpA-a gene integrated into the chromosome. This report shows that adpA-a is involved in regulation of morphological differentiation and melanin production in S. avermitilis.

Little is known about the mechanism of climate-vegetation coverage coupled changes in the Tibetan Plateau(TP)region,which is the most climatically sensitive and ecologically fragile region with the highest terrain in the *** study,using multisource datasets(including satellite data and meteorological observations and reanalysis data)revealed the mutual feedback mechanisms between changes in climate(temperature and precipitation)and vegetation coverage in recent decades in the Hengduan Mountains Area(HMA)of the southeastern TP and their influences on climate in the downstream region,the Sichuan Basin(SCB).There is mutual facilitation between rising air temperature and increasing vegetation coverage in the HMA,which is most significant during winter,and then during spring,but insignificant during summer and *** temperature significantly enhances local vegetation coverage,and vegetation greening in turn heats the atmosphere via enhancing net heat flux from the surface to the *** atmospheric heating anomaly over the HMA thickens the atmospheric column and increases upper air *** high pressure anomaly disperses downstream via the westerly flow,expands across the SCB,and eventually increases the SCB *** effect lasts from winter to the following spring,which may cause the maximum increasing trend of the SCB temperature and vegetation coverage in *** results are helpful for estimating future trends in climate and eco-environmental variations in the HMA and SCB under warming scenarios,as well as seasonal forecasting based on the connection between the HMA eco-environment and SCB climate.

To reveal the characteristics of evapotranspiration and environmental control factors of typical underlying surfaces(alpine wetland and alpine meadow)on the Qinghai-Tibetan Plateau,a comprehensive study was performed via in situ observations and remote sensing data in the growing season and non-growing *** was positively correlated with precipitation,the decoupling coefficient,and the enhanced vegetation index,but was energy-limited and mainly controlled by the vapor pressure deficit and solar radiation at an annual scale and growing season scale,*** with the non-growing season,monthly evapotranspiration,equilibrium evaporation,and decoupling coefficient were greater in the growing season due to lower vegetation resistance and considerable ***,these factors were restricted in the alpine *** decoupling factor was more sensitive to changes of conductance in the alpine *** study is of great significance for understanding hydro-meteorological processes on the Qinghai-Tibetan Plateau.

Two New Supramolecular Hybrids Based on Bi-capped Keggin {PMo12V2O42} Clusters and Transition Metal Mixed-organic-ligand Complexes

Two supramolecular compounds [Cu（imz）2][Cu（phen）（imz）]2{[Cu（phen）]2[PMo6^VIMo6^VV2^IVO42]}（1） and [Co2（2,2＇-bpy）4（C2O4）][Co（2,2＇-bpy）3][PMo7^VIMo5^VV2^IVO42]（2,2＇-bpy）0.5.H2O（2）（phen=1,10＇-phenanthroline, imz= imidazole, 2,2＇-bpy=2.2＇-bipyridine） have been synthesized hydrothermally and characterized by elemental analyses, infrared spectrum, UV-Vis, X-ray photoelectron spectroscopy（XPS）, electron spin resonance（ESR） spectra, thermogravimetry analyses and single crystal X-ray diffraction analyses. Single-crystal X-ray diffraction analyses revealed that both the compounds represent the examples of compounds based on the bi-capped Keggin polyoxoanion {PMo12V2O42} and transition metal mixed-organic-ligand coordination complexes. Compound 1 consists of bi-capped Keggin polyoxoanion [PMo12V2O42]5 supported copper coordination groups, which are further interconnected with two types of copper complex fragments forming a 3D supramolecular framework via π-π stacking, C-H…O and N-H…-O hydrothermal bonding interactions. Compound 2 is a new hybrid consisted of polyoxoanion [PMo12V2O42]^4-, [Co2（2,2＇-bpy）4（C2O4）]^2＋ and [Co（2,2＇-bpy）3]^2＋. There are no direct interactions in compound 2, but the polyoxoanions together with two different cobalt complex groups construct a 3D supramolecular network through C-H…O hydrogen bonding interactions.

Background:Forest restoration has been considered an effective method to increase soil organic carbon(SOC),whereas it remains unclear whether long-term forest restoration will continuously increase *** large uncertainties may be mainly due to the limited knowledge on how soil microorganisms will contribute to SOC accumulation over ***:We simultaneously documented SOC,total phospholipid fatty acids(PLFAs),and amino sugars(AS)content across a forest restoration gradient with average stand ages of 14,49,70,and>90 years in southern ***:The SOC and AS continuously increased with stand *** ratio of fungal PLFAs to bacterial PLFAs showed no change with stand age,while the ratio of fungal AS to bacterial AS significantly *** total microbial residue-carbon(AS-C)accounted for 0.95-1.66% in SOC across all forest restoration stages,with significantly higher in fungal residue-C(0.68-1.19%)than bacterial residue-C(0.05-0.11%).Furthermore,the contribution of total AS-C to SOC was positively correlated with clay content at 0-10 cm soil layer but negatively related to clay content at 10-20 cm soil ***:These findings highlight the significant contribution of AS-C to SOC accumulation along forest restoration stages,with divergent contributions from fungal residues and bacterial *** clay content with stand age significantly affects the divergent contributions of AS-C to SOC at two different soil layers.

Microplastics(MPs)pollution has become a serious environmental issue of growing global concern due to the increasing plastic production and *** climate warming,the cryosphere,defined as the part of Earth’s layer characterized by the low temperatures and the presence of frozen water,has been experiencing significant *** Arctic cryosphere(e.g.,sea ice,snow cover,Greenland ice sheet,permafrost)can store and release pollutants into environments,making Arctic an important temporal sink and source of ***,we summarized the distributions of MPs in Arctic snow,sea ice,seawater,rivers,and sediments,to illustrate their potential sources,transport pathways,storage and release,and possible effects in this sentinel *** concentrations of MPs in snow and ice varied about 1-6 orders of magnitude in different regions,which were mostly attributed to the different sampling and measurement methods,and potential sources of *** concentrations from Arctic seawater,river/lake water,and sediments also fluctuated largely,ranging from several items of per unit to>40,000 items m^(-3),100 items m^(-3),and 10,000 items kg^(-1) dw,*** land snow cover can be a temporal storage of MPs,with MPs deposition flux of about(4.9-14.26)×10^(8) items km^(-2) yr^(-1).MPs transported by rivers to Arctic ocean was estimated to be approximately 8-48 ton/yr,with discharge flux of MPs at about(1.65-9.35)×10^(8) items/*** storage of MPs in sea ice was estimated to be about 6.1×10^(18) items,with annual release of about 5.1×10^(18) *** transport of MPs from long-distance terrestrial sources contributed significantly to MPs deposition in Arctic land snow cover,sea ice and oceanic surface *** Great Rivers can flow MPs into the Arctic *** ice can temporally store,transport and then release MPs in the surrounded *** currents from the Atlantic brought high concentrations of MPs into the ***,there existed large u

Chiroptical switching of molecular universal joint triggered by complexation/release of a cation: A stepwise synergistic complexation

Pillar[5]arene-based molecular universal joints(MUJs), bearing fused crown ether subring(MUJ1 and MUJ3) or a ring without ether oxygen atom(MUJ2), were synthesized and enantio–differentiated. Significant chiral inversion was observed for the crown ether-fused MUJs upon the addition of equivalent cations Na+, showing an anisotropy(g) factor of 0.014, while alkyl subring-fused MUJ2 showed no CD inversions. Unprecedentedly, sodium ion triggered rolling-in motion of the subring to the pillar[5]arene cavity was verified, and the synergistic noncovalent interaction of cation-π interactions and C–H···π interactions were responsible for the stabilized self-included conformers. The addition of Me OH or competitive hosts 15-crown-5 ether disassembled the complex of MUJ1 and Na+followed by a rolling-out of the subring, which made the sodium-ion triggered chiroptical switching reversible.
