Boosting bidirectional conversion of polysulfide driven by the built-in electric field of MoS_(2)/MoP Mott–Schottky heterostructures in lithium–sulfur batteries

Heterostructure engineering for sulfur hosts is an effective way to achieve interfacial synergistic effects on suppressing the“shuttle effect”of polysulfides and thus improve electrochemical performance of lithium–sulfur(Li–S)*** selection and design of different components into heterostructures is vital to enhance the synergistic ***,MoS_(2)/MoP Mott–Schottky heterostructure nanoparticles decorated on reduced graphene oxide(MoS_(2)/MoP@rGO)are fabricated and used as sulfur host *** calculation and experiment results reveal that the in-situ introduction of MoP could tune the electronic structure,activate the basal plane of MoS_(2),and achieve the interfacial synergistic effects between adsorption(MoS_(2))and fast conversion(MoP).Such synergistic effects enable MoS_(2)/MoP@rGO to not only remarkably facilitate Li_(2)S deposition during the discharging process but also significantly accelerate the Li_(2)S dissolution during the charging process,demonstrating bidirectional promotion ***,the designed cathode delivers initial capacity of 919.5 mA·h·g^(−1)with capacity of 502.3 mA·h·g^(−1)remaining after 700 cycles at 0.5 *** under higher sulfur loading of 4.31 mg·cm^(−2)and lower electrolyte to sulfur(E/S)ratio of 8.21μL·mg^(−1),the MoS_(2)/MoP@rGO@S cathode could still achieve good capacity and cycle *** work provides a novel and efficient structural design strategy of sulfur hosts for high-performance Li–S energy storage systems.

Optical sensors with in-cell logic and memory capabilities offer new horizons in realizing machine vision beyond von Neumann architectures and have been attempted with two-dimensional materials,memristive oxides,phasechanging materials *** the unparalleled performance of superconductors with both quantum-limited optical sensitivities and ultra-wide spectrum coverage,here we report a superconducting memlogic long-wave infrared sensor based on the bistability in hysteretic superconductor-normal phase *** cooperatively by electrical and optical pulses,the device offers deterministic in-sensor switching between resistive and superconducting(hence dissipationless)states with persistence>105 *** results in a resilient reconfigurable memlogic system applicable for,e.g.,encrypted ***,a high infrared sensitivity at 12.2μm is achieved through its in-situ metamaterial perfect absorber *** work opens the avenue to realize all-in-one superconducting memlogic sensors,surpassing biological retina capabilities in both sensitivity and wavelength,and presents a groundbreaking opportunity to integrate visional perception capabilities into superconductor-based intelligent quantum machines.

Defect engineering can give birth to novel properties for adsorption and photocatalysis in the control of antibiotics and heavy metal combined pollution with photocatalytic ***,the role of defects and the process mechanism are complicated and ***,TiO2/CN/3DC was fabricated and defects were introduced into the tripartite structure with separate O2plasma treatment for the single *** find that defect engineering can improve the photocatalytic activity,attributing to the increase of the contribution from h+and *** contrast to TiO2/CN/3DC with a photocatalytic tetracycline removal rate of 75.2%,the removal rate of TC with D-TiO2/CN/3DC has increased to 88.5%.Moreover,the reactive sites of tetracycline can be increased by adsorbing on the defective *** defect construction on TiO2shows the advantages in tetracycline degradation and Cu2+adsorption,but also suffers significant inhibition for the tetracycline degradation in a tetracycline/Cu2+combined *** contrast,the defect construction on graphene can achieve the cooperative removal of tetracycline and Cu2+.These findings can provide new insights into water treatment strategies with defect engineering.

Energy dissipation mechanism and ballistic characteristic optimization in foam sandwich panels against spherical projectile impact

This study systematically examines the energy dissipation mechanisms and ballistic characteristics of foam sandwich panels(FSP)under high-velocity impact using the explicit non-linear finite element *** on the geometric topology of the FSP system,three FSP configurations with the same areal density are derived,namely multi-layer,gradient core and asymmetric face sheet,and three key structural parameters are identified:core thickness(t_(c)),face sheet thickness(t_(f))and overlap face/core number(n_(o)).The ballistic performance of the FSP system is comprehensively evaluated in terms of the ballistic limit velocity(BLV),deformation modes,energy dissipation mechanism,and specific penetration energy(SPE).The results show that the FSP system exhibits a significant configuration dependence,whose ballistic performance ranking is:asymmetric face sheet>gradient core>*** mass distribution of the top and bottom face sheets plays a critical role in the ballistic resistance of the FSP *** BLV and SPE increase with tf,while the raising tcor noleads to an increase in BLV but a decrease in ***,a face-core synchronous enhancement mechanism is discovered by the energy dissipation analysis,based on which the ballistic optimization procedure is also conducted and a design chart is *** study shed light on the anti-penetration mechanism of the FSP system and might provide a theoretical basis for its engineering application.

The Spatiotemporal Distribution Characteristics of Cloud Types and Phases in the Arctic Based on CloudSat and CALIPSO Cloud Classification Products

The cloud type product 2B-CLDCLASS-LIDAR based on CloudSat and CALIPSO from June 2006 to May 2017 is used to examine the temporal and spatial distribution characteristics and interannual variability of eight cloud types(high cloud, altostratus, altocumulus, stratus, stratocumulus, cumulus, nimbostratus, and deep convection) and three phases(ice,mixed, and water) in the Arctic. Possible reasons for the observed interannual variability are also discussed. The main conclusions are as follows:(1) More water clouds occur on the Atlantic side, and more ice clouds occur over continents.(2)The average spatial and seasonal distributions of cloud types show three patterns: high clouds and most cumuliform clouds are concentrated in low-latitude locations and peak in summer;altostratus and nimbostratus are concentrated over and around continents and are less abundant in summer;stratocumulus and stratus are concentrated near the inner Arctic and peak during spring and autumn.(3) Regional averaged interannual frequencies of ice clouds and altostratus clouds significantly decrease, while those of water clouds, altocumulus, and cumulus clouds increase significantly.(4) Significant features of the linear trends of cloud frequencies are mainly located over ocean areas.(5) The monthly water cloud frequency anomalies are positively correlated with air temperature in most of the troposphere, while those for ice clouds are negatively correlated.(6) The decrease in altostratus clouds is associated with the weakening of the Arctic front due to Arctic warming, while increased water vapor transport into the Arctic and higher atmospheric instability lead to more cumulus and altocumulus clouds.

A new isochromanone,cladosporinisochromanone(1),accompanied by 15 known compounds(2–16)were obtained from secondary metabolites produced by marine-derived fungus Cladosporium *** and HRESIMS spectra elucidation determined the planar structure of *** electronic circular dichroism(ECD)experiment assigned the absolute configuration of *** 1,2,4–6,and 10 displayed different degrees of neuroprotective activities on human neuroblastoma cells *** compounds(1,3–5,and 13)emerged resistance to protein tyrosine phosphatase 1B(PTP1B),further kinetic analysis and molecular docking study indicated that the most potent compound 13(IC50value of 10.74±0.61μmol/L)was found as a noncompetitive inhibitor for *** plasmon resonance(SPR)and molecular docking studies also demonstrated the interaction between compound 12 and Niemann-Pick C1 Like 1(NPC1L1),which has been identified as significant therapeutic target for *** addition,compounds 3,6,and 14 showed attractive inhibitory activity against the phytopathogenic fungi:Colletotrichum ***,library of Cladosporium metabolites is enriched and new active uses of known compounds are explored.

Activation of stress-response genes by retrograde signaling-mediated destabilization of nuclear importin IMPα-9 and its interactor TPR2

Stress-induced retrograde signal transmission from the plastids to the nucleus has long puzzled plant *** address this,we performed a suppressor screen of the ceh1 mutant,which contains elevated 2-C-methyl-d-erythritol-2,4-cyclopyrophosphate(MEcPP)levels,and identified the gain-of-function mutant impα-9,which shows reversed dwarfism and suppressed expression of stress-response genes in the ceh1 background despite heightened *** genetic and biochemical analyses established that the accumulation of MEcPP initiates an upsurge in Arabidopsis SKP1-like 1(ASK1)abundance,a pivotal component in the proteasome degradation *** increase in ASK1 prompts the degradation of IMPα-***,we uncovered a protein-protein interaction between IMPα-9 and TPR2,a transcriptional co-suppressor and found that a reduction in IMPα-9 levels coincides with a decrease in TPR2 ***,the interaction between IMPα-9 and TPR2 was disrupted in impα-9 mutants,highlighting the critical role of a single amino acid alteration in maintaining their *** of their interaction results in the reversal of MEcPP-associated *** immunoprecipitation coupled with sequencing analyses revealed that TPR2 binds globally to stress-response genes and suggested that IMPα-9 associates with the *** function together to suppress the expression of stress-response genes under normal conditions,but this suppression is alleviated in response to stress through the degradation of the suppressing *** biological relevance of our discoveries was validated under high light stress,marked by MEcPP accumulation,elevated ASK1 levels,IMPα-9 degredation,reduced TPR2 abundance,and subsequent activation of a network of stress-response *** summary,our study collectively unveils fresh insights into plant adaptive mechanisms,highlighting intricate interactions among retrograde signaling,the proteasome,and nuclear transport machinery.

Review on Lithium-ion Battery PHM from the Perspective of Key PHM Steps

Prognostics and health management(PHM) has gotten considerable attention in the background of Industry *** PHM contributes to the reliable and safe operation of electric devices. Nevertheless, relevant reviews are still continuously updated over time. In this paper, we browsed extensive literature related to battery PHM from 2018to 2023 and summarized advances in battery PHM field, including battery testing and public datasets, fault diagnosis and prediction methods, health status estimation and health management methods. The last topic includes state of health estimation methods, remaining useful life prediction methods and predictive maintenance methods. Each of these categories is introduced and discussed in details. Based on this survey, we accordingly discuss challenges left to battery PHM, and provide future research opportunities. This research systematically reviews recent research about battery PHM from the perspective of key PHM steps and provide some valuable prospects for researchers and practitioners.
