3D‑Printed Carbon‑Based Conformal Electromagnetic Interference Shielding Module for Integrated Electronics

Electromagnetic interference shielding(EMI SE)modules are the core com-ponent of modern electronics.However,the tra-ditional metal-based SE modules always take up indispensable three-dimensional space inside electronics,posing a major obstacle to the integra-tion of electronics.The innovation of integrating 3D-printed conformal shielding(c-SE)modules with packaging materials onto core electronics offers infinite possibilities to satisfy ideal SE func-tion without occupying additional space.Herein,the 3D printable carbon-based inks with various proportions of graphene and carbon nanotube nanoparticles are well-formulated by manipulating their rheological peculiarity.Accordingly,the free-constructed architectures with arbitrarily-customized structure and multifunctionality are created via 3D printing.In particular,the SE performance of 3D-printed frame is up to 61.4 dB,simultaneously accompanied with an ultralight architecture of 0.076 g cm^(-3) and a superhigh specific shielding of 802.4 dB cm3 g^(-1).Moreover,as a proof-of-concept,the 3D-printed c-SE module is in situ integrated into core electronics,successfully replacing the traditional metal-based module to afford multiple functions for electromagnetic compatibility and thermal dissipa-tion.Thus,this scientific innovation completely makes up the blank for assembling carbon-based c-SE modules and sheds a brilliant light on developing the next generation of high-performance shielding materials with arbitrarily-customized structure for integrated electronics.

Tumor vaccine is a promising strategy for cancer immunotherapy by introducing tumor antigens into the body to activate specific anti-tumor immune responses.Along with the technological breakthroughs in genetic engineering and delivery systems,messenger ribonucleic acid(mRNA)technology has achieved unprecedented development and application over the last few years,especially the emergency use authorizations of two mRNA vaccines during the COVID-19 pandemic,which has saved countless lives and makes the world witness the powerful efficacy of mRNA technology in vaccines.However,unlike infectious disease vaccines,which mainly induce humoral immunity,tumor vaccines also need to activate potent cellular immunity to control tumor growth,which creates a higher demand for mRNA delivery to the lymphatic organs and antigen-presenting cells(APCs).Here we review the existing bottlenecks of mRNA tumor vaccines and advanced nano-based strategies to overcome those challenges,as well as future considerations of mRNA tumor vaccines and their delivery systems.

Preparation and performance of novel magnetic phase-change-microcapsule-supported Bi_(2)WO_(6)catalyst

The design and synthesis of novel photocatalyst with self-temperature control function is an important topic in the field of advanced environmental functional materials.In this work,submicron-sized magnetic phase change microcapsules composed of paraffin core and Fe_(3)O_(4)-loaded silica shell are prepared,on which the Bi_(2)WO_(6)crystals is grown in situ through hydrothermal reaction to obtain novel magnetic phase-change-microcapsule-supported Bi_(2)WO_(6)catalyst(MP@FS/BWO).The MP@FS/BWO has a paraffin encapsulation ratio of 57.1%,and the phase change enthalpy of 105.1 J/g in a temperature range of 50–60℃,which endows the MP@FS/BWO with a certain self-temperature regulation ability.MP@FS/BWO shows excellent catalytic performance in the decomposition of rhodamine B under the simulated sunlight irradiation.After the light source is turned off,it still has good catalytic ability by maintaining high temperature due to its temperature control function based on the phase transition process.The MP@FS/BWO can be easily recycled by magnetic separation and shows good structural stability and reusability.This work provides a new idea for the development of long-effect and energy-saving outdoor photocatalysts.

Drought-triggered repression of miR166 promotes drought tolerance in soybean

Drought stress limits agricultural productivity worldwide.Identifying and characterizing genetic components of drought stress-tolerance networks may improve crop resistance to drought stress.We show that the regulatory module formed by miR166 and its target gene,ATHB14-LIKE,functions in the regulation of drought tolerance in soybean(Glycine max).Drought stress represses the accumulation of miR166,leading to upregulation of its target genes.Optimal knockdown of miR166 in the stable transgenic line GmSTTM166 conferred drought tolerance without affecting yield.Expression of ABA signaling pathway genes was regulated by the miR166-mediated regulatory pathway,and ATHB14-LIKE directly activates some of these genes.There is a feedback regulation between ATHB14-LIKE and MIR166 genes,and ATHB14-LIKE inhibits MIR166 expression.These findings reveal that drought-triggered regulation of the miR166-mediated regulatory pathway increases plants drought resistance,providing new insights into drought stress regulatory network in soybean.

Metal vacancy-enriched layered double hydroxide for biomass molecule electrooxidation coupled with hydrogen production

The electrochemical oxidation of biomass molecules coupling with hydrogen production is a promising strategy to obtain both green energy and value-added chemicals;however,this strategy is limited by the competing oxygen evolution reactions and high energy consumption.Herein,we report a hierarchical CoNi layered double hydroxides(LDHs)electrocatalyst with abundant Ni vacancies for the efficient anodic oxidation of 5-hydroxymethylfurfural(HMF)and cathodic hydrogen evolution.The unique hierarchical nanosheet structure and Ni vacancies provide outstanding activity and selectivity toward several biomass molecules because of the finely regulated electronic structure and highly-exposed active sites.In particular,a high faradaic efficiency(FE)at a high current density(99%at 100 mA cm^(-2))is achieved for HMF oxidation,and a two-electrode electrolyzer is assembled based on the Ni vacancies-enriched LDH,which realized a continuous synthesis of highly-pure 2,5-furandicarboxylic acid products with high yields(95%)and FE(90%).

Upper-Bound Limit Analysis of the Multi-Layer Slope Stability and Failure Mode Based on Generalized Horizontal Slice Method

Multi-layer slopes are widely found in clay residue receiving fields.A generalized horizontal slice method(GHSM)for assessing the stability of multi-layer slopes that considers the energy dissipation between adjacent horizontal slices is presented.In view of the upper-bound limit analysis theory,the energy equation is derived and the ultimate failure mode is generated by comparing the sliding surface passing through the slope toe(mode A)with that below(mode B).In addition,the influence of the number of slices on the stability coefficients in the GHSM is studied and the stable value is obtained.Compared to the original method(Chen’s method),the GHSM can acquire more precise results,which takes into account the energy dissipation in the inner sliding soil mass.Moreover,the GHSM,limit equilibrium method(LEM)and numerical simulation method(NSM)are applied to analyze the stability of a multi-layer slope with different slope angles and the results of the safety factor and failure mode are very close in each case.The ultimate failure modes are shown to be mode B when the slope angle is not more than 28°.It illustrates that the determination of the ultimate sliding surface requires comparison of multiple failure modes,not only mode A.

The NADPH oxidase OsRbohA increases salt tolerance by modulating K^(+)homeostasis in rice

Rice(Oryza sativa L.)is a staple cereal for more than two thirds of the world's population.Soil salinity severely limits rice growth,development,and grain yield.It is desirable to elucidate the mechanism of rice's salt-stress response.As the major source of H_(2)O_(2),NADPH oxidase(Rboh)is believed to be involved in salt-stress tolerance.However,the function and mechanism of rice Rboh in salt stress response remain unclear.In this study,we found that the expression of OsRbohA was up-regulated by NaCl treatment in the shoots and roots of rice seedlings.Knockout of OsRbohA reduced the tolerance of rice to salt stress.Knockout of OsRbohA blocked NaCl-induced increases of NADPH activity and H_(2)O_(2) content in roots.OsRboh A knockout inhibited root growth and disrupted K^(+)homeostasis by reducing the expression of K^(+) transporters and channel-associated genes(OsGORK,OsAKT1,OsHAK1,and OsHAK5)in roots under NaCl treatment.Under NaCl treatment,OsRbohA knockout also reduced subcellular K^(+) contents of the plasma membrane and soluble fraction.Overexpression of OsRbohA increased the expression of K^(+) transporters and channel-associated genes and reduced the loss of K^(+) ions in roots.These results indicate that OsRboh A-mediated H_(2)O_(2) accumulation modulates K^(+) homeostasis,thereby increasing salt tolerance in rice.

In-Situ Synchrotron Radiation Infrared Spectroscopic Identification of Reactive Intermediates over Multiphase Electrocatalytic Interfaces

A comprehensive understanding of the microscopic reaction mechanisms at the gas-solid-liquid electrochemical interfaces is urgently required for the development of advanced electrocatalysts applied in burgeoning sustainable energy conversion systems. In-situ synchrotron radiation Fourier transform infrared(SR-FTIR) spectroscopy is one of the most powerful techniques for investigating the evolving dynamics of reactive intermediates during electrocatalytic reactions. In this review, we methodically summarize the recent progress in the research of dynamic mechanisms for valuable electrocatalytic reactions based on in-situ SR-FTIR methodology. Moreover, the merits and drawbacks of SRFTIR spectroscopy, the design principles of infrared beam setups and in-situ cells, as well as the in-situ measurement criteria are also discussed in detail. Lastly, the potential challenges and opportunities in this field are prudently stated. This review is expected to stimulate a broad interest in the material science and electrochemistry communities for exploring the dynamic mechanisms of prominent catalysis at the atomic/molecular level by using SR-based spectroscopy.

OsDMI3-mediated OsUXS3 phosphorylation improves oxidative stress tolerance by modulating OsCATB protein abundance in rice

Calcium(Ca^(2+))/calmodulin(CaM)-dependent protein kinase(CCaMK)is an important positive regulator of antioxidant defenses and tolerance against oxidative stress.However,the underlying molecular mechanisms are largely unknown.Here,we report that the rice(Oryza sativa)CCa MK(OsDMI3)physically interacts with and phosphorylates OsUXS3,a cytosol-localized UDP-xylose synthase.Genetic and biochemical evidence demonstrated that OsUXS3 acts downstream of OsDMI3 to enhance the oxidative stress tolerance conferred by higher catalase(CAT)activity.Indeed,OsUXS3 interacted with CAT isozyme B(OsCATB),and this interaction was required to increase OsCATB protein abundance under oxidative stress conditions.Furthermore,we showed that OsDMI3 phosphorylates OsUXS3 on residue Ser-245,thereby further promoting the interaction between OsUXS3 and OsCATB.Our results indicate that OsDMI3 promotes the association of OsUXS3 with OsCATB to enhance CAT activity under oxidative stress.These findings reveal OsUXS3 as a direct target of OsDMI3 and demonstrate its involvement in antioxidant defense.

Highly active and durable triple conducting composite air electrode for low-temperature protonic ceramic fuel cells

Protonic ceramic fuel cells(PCFCs)are more suitable for operation at low temperatures due to their smaller activation energy(Ea).Unfortunately,the utilization of PCFC technology at reduced temperatures is limited by the lack of durable and high-activity air electrodes.A lot number of cobalt-based oxides have been developed as air electrodes for PCFCs,due to their high oxygen reduction reaction(ORR)activity.However,cobalt-based oxides usually have more significant thermal expansion coefficients(TECs)and poor thermomechanical compatibility with electrolytes.These characteristics can lead to cell delamination and degradation.Herein,we rationally design a novel cobalt-containing composite cathode material with the nominal composition of Sr_(4)Fe_(4)Co_(2)O_(13)+δ(SFC).SFC is composed of tetragonal perovskite phase(Sr_(8)Fe_(8)O_(23)+δ,I4/mmm,81 wt.%)and spinel phase(Co_(3)O_(4),Fd3m,19 wt.%).The SFC composite cathode displays an ultra-high oxygen ionic conductivity(0.053 S·cm^(-1)at 550℃),superior CO_(2)tolerance,and suitable TEC value(17.01×10^(-6)K^(-1)).SFC has both the O_(2)^(-)/e^(-)conduction function,and the triple conducting(H^(+)/O_(2)^(-)/e^(-))capability was achieved by introducing the protonic conduction phase(BaZr_(0.2)Ce_(0.7)Y_(0.1)O_(3-δ),BZCY)to form SFC+BZCY(70 wt.%:30 wt.%).The SFC+BZCY composite electrode exhibits superior ORR activity at a reduced temperature with extremely low area-specific resistance(ASR,0.677Ω·cm^(2)at 550℃),profound peak power density(PPD,535 mW·cm^(-2)and 1.065 V at 550℃),extraordinarily long-term durability(>500 h for symmetrical cell and 350 h for single cell).Moreover,the composite has an ultra-low TEC value(15.96×10^(-6)K^(-1)).This study proves that SFC+BZCY with triple conducting capacity is an excellent cathode for low-temperature PCFCs.
