Thermogravimetric characteristics of corn straw and bituminous coal copyrolysis based the ilmenite oxygen carriers

Herein,the co-pyrolysis reaction characteristics of corn straw(CS)and bituminous coal in the presence of ilmenite oxygen carriers(OCs)are investigated via thermogravimetry coupled with mass spectrometry.The results reveal that the participation of OCs weakens the devolatilization intensity of co-pyrolysis.When the CS blending ratio is<50%,the mixed fuel exhibits positive synergistic effects.The fitting results according to the Coats-Redfern integral method show that the solidesolid interaction between OCs and coke changes the reaction kinetics,enhancing the co-pyrolysis reactivity at the high-temperature zone(750e950C).The synergistic effect is most prominent at a 30%CS blending ratio,with copyrolysis activation energy in the range of 26.35-40.57 kJ·mol^(-1).

For large-scale in-service electric vehicles(EVs)that undergo potential maintenance,second-hand transactions,and retirement,it is crucial to rapidly evaluate the health status of their battery packs.However,existing methods often rely on lengthy battery charging/discharging data or extensive training samples,which hinders their implementation in practical scenarios.To address this issue,a rapid health estimation method based on short-time charging data and limited labels for in-service battery packs is proposed in this paper.First,a digital twin of battery pack is established to emulate its dynamic behavior across various aging levels and inconsistency degrees.Then,increment capacity sequences(△Q)within a short voltage span are extracted from charging process to indicate battery health.Furthermore,data-driven models based on deep convolutional neural network(DCNN)are constructed to estimate battery state of health(SOH),where the synthetic data is employed to pre-train the models,and transfer learning strategies by using fine-tuning and domain adaptation are utilized to enhance the model adaptability.Finally,field data of 10 EVs exhibiting different SOHs are used to verify the proposed methods.By using the△Q with 100 m V voltage change,the SOH of battery packs can be accurately estimated with an error around 3.2%.

Constructing the magnesium alloy with fine grains,low density of dislocations,and weak crystal orientation is of crucial importance to enhance its comprehensive performance as the anode for Mg-air battery.However,this unique microstructure can hardly be achieved with conventional plastic deformation such as rolling or extrusion.Herein,we tailor the microstructure of Mg-Al-Sn-RE alloy by using the friction stir processing,which obviously refines the grains without increasing dislocation density or strengthening crystal orientation.The Mg-air battery with the processed Mg-Al-Sn-RE alloy as the anode exhibits higher discharge voltages and capacities than that employing the untreated anode.Furthermore,the impact of friction stir processing on the electrochemical discharge behaviour of Mg-Al-Sn-RE anode and the corresponding mechanism are also analysed according to microstructure characterization and electrochemical response.

The coupling dynamic problems,such as the vehicle-bridge interaction problem,are difficult to be analyzed.In this paper,the generalized multi-symplectic approach is employed to investigate the coupling dynamic behaviors in the vehicle-bridge interaction system.A simply-supported damping beam model carrying a moving mass is considered and the generalized multi-symplectic form with the dynamical symmetry breaking factors is deduced firstly.And then,Preissmann’s scheme is employed to discretize the generalized multi-symplectic form,and the discrete structure-preserving condition for the numerical scheme is presented.According to the discrete structure-preserving condition,the permitted moving speed of the mass with different damping factors and different time step lengths is obtained to ensure the structure-preserving properties of the numerical scheme.Finally,the effects of the damping factor of the beam and the moving speed of the mass on the vibration of the beam are investigated by Preissmann’s scheme.The main contribution of this work is to provide a structure-preserving analysis approach for the vehicle-bridge interaction problem.

Aqueous rechargeable batteries are the promising energy storge technology due to their safety,low cost,and environmental friendliness.Ammonium ion(NH_(4)^(+))is an ideal charge carrier for such batteries because of its small hydration radius and low molar mass.In this study,VO_(2)·xH_(2)O with rich oxygen defects(d-HVO)is designed and synthesized,and it exhibits unique nanoarray structure and good electrochemical performances for NH_(4)^(+)storge.Experimental and calculation results indicate that oxygen defects in d-HVO can enhance the conductivity and diffusion rate of NH_(4)^(+),leading to improved electrochemical performances.The most significant improvement is observed in d-HVO with 2 mmol thiourea(d-HVO-2)(220 mAh·g^(-1) at 0.1 A·g^(-1)),which has a moderate defect content.A full cell is assembled using d-HVO-2 as the anode and polyaniline(PANI)as the cathode,which shows excellent cycling stability with a capacity retention rate of 80%after 1000 cycles and outstanding power density up to 4540 W·kg^(-1).Moreover,the flexible d-HVO-2||PANI battery,based on quasi-solid electrolyte,shows excellent flexibility under different bending conditions.This study provides a new approach for designing and developing high-performance NH_(4)^(+)storage electrode materials.

Structural characterization and prebiotic potential of polysaccharides from Polygonatum sibiricum

Polygonatum sibiricum has been widely used due to its excellent biological activities.We prepared a novel polysaccharide from P.sibiricum(PSP)in this study.According a monosaccharide composition analysis,PSP was mainly composed of fructose and glucose with a molar percentage of 93.81:5.12.The main linkage types were identified asα-D-Glcp-1→and→2-β-D-Fruf-1→.The molecular weight of PSP showed no significant change after simulated salivary and gastrointestinal digestion.However,PSP could be broken down by intestinal bacteria.Our findings revealed that PSP administration increased the abundance of probiotics such as Bifidobacterium.Furthermore,the results showed that gut microbes could utilize PSP to produce short-chain fatty acids including acetic acid,propionic acid,and butyric acid.Also,the PSP fermentation broth displayed an excellent scavenging effect on free radicals,including 2,2-diphenyl-1-picrylhydrazyl radical,superoxide radical,and hydroxyl radical.In summary,this study will help to promote the application of PSP as prebiotics in functional food and the medical industry.

The longitudinal wave propagating in an elastic rod with a variable cross-section owns wide engineering background,in which the longitudinal wave dissipation determines some important performances of the slender structure.To reproduce the longitudinal wave dissipation effects on an elastic rod with a variable cross-section,a structure-preserving approach is developed based on the dynamic symmetry breaking theory.For the dynamic model controlling the longitudinal wave propagating in the elastic rod with the variable cross-section,the approximate multi-symplectic form is deduced based on the multi-symplectic method,and the expression of the local energy dissipation for the longitudinal wave propagating in the rod is presented,referring to the dynamic symmetry breaking theory.A structure-preserving method focusing on the residual of the multi-symplectic structure and the local energy dissipation of the dynamic model is constructed by using the midpoint difference discrete method.The longitudinal wave propagating in an elastic rod fixed at one end is simulated,and the local/total energy dissipations of the longitudinal wave are investigated by the constructed structure-preserving scheme in two typical cases in detail.

The key role of myostatin b in somatic growth in fishes derived from distant hybridization

The basic mechanism of heterosis has not been systematically and completely characterized.In previous studies,we obtained three economically important fishes that exhibit rapid growth,WR(WCC♀×RCC♂),WR-Ⅱ(WR♀×WCC♂),and WR-Ⅲ(WR-Ⅱ♀×4nAU♂),through distant hybridization.However,the mechanism underlying this rapid growth remains unclear.In this study,we found that WR,WR-Ⅱ,and WR-Ⅲshowed muscle hypertrophy and higher muscle protein and fat contents compared with their parent species(RCC and WCC).Candidate genes responsible for this rapid growth were then obtained through an analysis of 12 muscle transcriptomes.Notably,the mRNA level of mstnb(myostatin b),which is a negative regulator of myogenesis,was significantly reduced in WR,WR-Ⅱ,and WR-Ⅲcompared with the parent species.To verify the function of mstnb,a mstnb-deficient mutant RCC line was generated using the CRISPR-Cas9 technique.The average body weight of mstnb-deficient RCC at 12 months of age was significantly increased by 29.57%compared with that in wild-type siblings.Moreover,the area and number of muscle fibers were significantly increased in mstnb-deficient RCC,indicating hypertrophy and hyperplasia.Furthermore,the muscle protein and fat contents were significantly increased in mstnb-deficient RCC.The molecular regulatory mechanism of mstnb was then revealed by transcription profiling,which showed that genes related to myogenesis(myod,myog,and myf5),protein synthesis(PI3K-AKT-mTOR),and lipogenesis(pparγand fabp3)were highly activated in hybrid fishes and mstnb-deficient RCC.This study revealed that low expression or deficiency of mstnb regulates somatic growth by promoting myogenesis,protein synthesis,and lipogenesis in hybrid fishes and mstnb-deficient RCC,which provides evidence for the molecular mechanism of heterosis via distant hybridization.

Approaching the theoretical capacity of TiO_(2) anode in a photorechargeable lithium-ion battery

New generation of lithium-ion batteries(LIBs)integrating solar energy conversion and storage is emerging,as they could solve the fluctuation problem in the utilization of solar energy.Photo-rechargeable lithium-ion batteries(PR-LIBs)are ideal devices for such target,in which solar energy is converted into electricity and stored in LIB.In order to achieve the high performance of PR-LIB,it is crucial to develop dual-function electrode materials that can synergistically capture solar energy and store lithium.Herein,we present photo-rechargeable lithium-ion batteries using defective black TiO_(2) as photoanode prepared by lithium reduction.The photoanode exhibits excellent photo response in full solar spectrum with a capacity enhancement of 46.4%under illumination,corresponding to the energy conversion efficiency of 4.4%at the current density of 1 A·g^(-1).When illumination is applied at 20 mA·g^(-1),the battery capacity increases from~230 in dark to~349 mAh·g^(-1) at the first cycle,and then stabilizes at 310 mAh·g^(-1),approaching the theoretical value of 335 mAh·g^(-1) of TiO_(2) electrode material.This finding provides thoughts for breaking the capacity limitations in TiO_(2) and paves the way for powering LIBs by solar illumination.
