The seasonal and diurnal variations of cloud systems are profoundly affected by the large-scale and local *** this study,a one-year-long simulation was conducted using a two-dimensional cloud-resolving model over the Eastern Tibetan Plateau(ETP)and two subregions of Eastern China:Southern East China and Central East *** convective clouds(DCCs)rarely occur in the cold season over ETP,whereas DCCs appear in Eastern China throughout the year,and the ETP DCCs are approximately 20%−30%shallower than those over Eastern *** strong rainfall events(precipitation intensity,PI>2.5 mm h−1)in Eastern China are related to warm-season DCCs with ice cloud *** of the high elevation of the ETP,the warm-season freezing level is lower than in Eastern China,providing favorable conditions for ice cloud *** are responsible for the diurnal variations of warm-season rainfall in all three ***-season DCCs over the ETP have the greatest total cloud water content and frequency in the afternoon,resulting in an afternoon rainfall *** addition,rainfall events in the ETP also exhibit a nocturnal peak in spring,summer,and autumn due to *** surface heat fluxes around noon can trigger or promote DCCs in spring,summer,and autumn over the ETP but produce only cumulus clouds in winter due to the cold and dry environment.

Exosomal miRNAs,as potential biomarkers in liquid biopsy for cancer early diagnosis,have aroused widespread ***,an electrochemical biosensor based on DNA“nano-bridge”was designed and applied to detect exosomal microRNA-21(miR-21)derived from breast cancer *** brief,the target miR-21 can specifically open the hairpin probe 1(HP1)labeled on the gold electrode(GE)surface through strand displacement *** the exposed loop region of HP1 can act as an initiator sequence to activate the hybridization chain reaction(HCR)between two kinetically trapped hairpin probes:HP2 immobilized on the GE surface and biotin labeled HP3 in *** HCR leads to the formation of DNA“nano-bridge”tethered to the GE surface with a great deal of“piers”.Upon addition of avidin-modified horseradish peroxidase(HRP),numerous HRP were bound to the formed“nano-bridge”through biotin-avidin interaction to arouse tremendous current *** theory,only a single miR-21 is able to trigger the continuous HCR between HP2 and HP3 until all of the HP2 are *** the proposed biosensor achieved ultrahigh sensitivity toward miR-21 with the detection limit down to 168 amol/L,as well as little cross-hybridization even at the single-base-mismatched *** attempts were also made in the detection of exosomal miR-21 obtained from the MCF-7 of breast cancer cell *** our knowledge,this is the first attempt to built horizontal DNA nano-structure on the electrode surface for exosomal miRNAs *** a word,the high sensitivity,selectivity,low cost make the proposed method hold great potential application for early point-of-care(POC)diagnostics of cancer.

The Sichuan-Xizang Railway is an important part of the railway network in China, and geological disasters, such as mountain floods and landslides, frequently occur in this region. Precipitation is an important cause of these disasters;therefore,accurate simulation of the precipitation in this region is highly important. In this study, the descriptions for uncertain processes in the cloud microphysics scheme are improved;these processes include cloud droplet activation, cloud-rain autoconversion, rain accretion by cloud droplets, and the entrainment-mixing process. In the default scheme, the cloud water content of different sizes corresponds to the same cloud droplet concentration, which is inconsistent with the actual content;this results in excessive cloud droplet size, unreasonable related conversion rates of microphysical process(such as cloud-rain autoconversion), and an overestimation of precipitation. Our new scheme overcomes the problem of excessive cloud droplet size. The processes of cloudrain autoconversion and rain accretion by cloud droplets are similar to the stochastic collection equation, and the mixing mechanism of cloud droplets is more consistent with that occurred during the actual physical process in the cloud. Based on the new and old schemes, multiple precipitation processes in the flood season of 2021 along the Sichuan-Xizang Railway are simulated, and the results are evaluated using ground observations and satellite data. Compared to the default scheme, the new scheme is more suitable for the simulation of cloud physics, reducing the simulation deviation of the liquid water path and droplet radius from 2 times to less than 1 time and significantly alleviating the overestimation of precipitation intensity and range of precipitation center. The average root-mean-square error is reduced by 22%. Our results can provide a scientific reference for improving precipitation forecasting and disaster prevention in this region.

The coronavirus disease 2019(COVID-19)pandemic has led to worldwide efforts to understand the biological traits of the newly identified human coronavirus(HCoV-19)*** this mass spectrometry(MS)-based study,we reveal that out of 21 possible glycosites in the HCoV-19 spike protein(S protein),20 are completely occupied by N-glycans,predominantly of the oligomannose *** seven glycosylation sites in human angiotensin I converting enzyme 2(hACE2)were found to be completely occupied,mainly by complex ***,glycosylation did not directly contribute to the binding affinity between HCoV-19 S protein and *** post-translational modification(PTM)was identified,including multiple methylated sites in both proteins and multiple sites with hydroxylproline in *** structural models of HCoV-19 S protein and hACE2 were built by adding N-glycan and PTMs to recently published cryogenic electron microscopy *** PTM and glycan maps of HCoV-19 S protein and hACE2 provide additional structural details for studying the mechanisms underlying host attachment and the immune response of HCoV-19,as well as knowledge for developing desperately needed remedies and vaccines.

In this paper,we consider a Riesz space-fractional reaction-dispersion equation (RSFRDE).The RSFRDE is obtained from the classical reaction-dispersion equation by replacing the second-order space derivative with a Riesz derivative of orderβ∈(1,2]. Redox-responsive biocompatible nanocarriers based on novel heparosan polysaccharides for intracellular anticancer drug delivery

Heparosan is a natural precursor of heparin biosynthesis in mammals. It is stable in blood circulation but can be degraded in lysosomes, showing good biocompatibility and long circulation features. So heparosan can be designed as anticancer drug carriers to increase tumor selectivity and improve the therapeutic effect. A novel redox-sensitive heparosancystamine-vitamin E succinate(KSV) micelle system was constructed for intracellular delivery of doxorubicin(DOX). Simultaneously, the redox-insensitive heparosan-adipic acid dihydrazide-vitamin E succinate copolymer(KV) was synthesized as control. DOX-loaded micelles(DOX/KSV) with an average particle size of 90–120 nm had good serum stability and redox-triggered depolymerization. In vitro drug release test showed that DOX/KSV micelles presented obvious redox-triggered release behavior compared with DOX/KV. Cytotoxicity and cell uptake were investigated using MGC80-3 tumor cells and COS7 fibroblast-like cells. The cell survival rate of blank micelles was more than 90%, and the cytotoxicity of DOX/KSV in MGC80-3 cells was higher than in COS7 cells, indicating that the carrier has better biocompatibility and less toxicity side effect. The cytotoxicity of DOX/KSV against MGC80-3 cells was significantly greater than that of free DOX and DOX/KV. Furthermore, compared with DOX/KV in MGC80-3 cells, DOX/KSV micelles uptook more anticancer drugs and then released DOX faster into the cell nucleus. The micelles were endocytosed by multiple pathways, but clathrin-mediated endocytosis was the main pathway. Therefore, heparosan polysaccharide could be a potential option as anticancer carrier for enhancing efficacy and mitigating toxicity.

A significant portion of emerging adults do not achieve recommended levels of physical activity (PA). Previous studies observedassociations between features of emerging adulthood and PA levels, while the potential psychological mechanisms that mightexplain this phenomenon are not fully understood. In this context, there is some evidence that situated decisions towardphysical activity (SDPA) and exercise-intensity tolerance might influence PA level. To provide empirical support for thisassumption, the current study investigated whether (i) features of emerging adulthood are linked to SDPA, which, in turn,might affect PA engagement;(ii) exercise-intensity tolerance moderate the relationship between SDPA and PA level;and (iii)SDPA is a mediator of the relationship between features of emerging adulthood and PA levels under the prerequisite thatexercise-intensity tolerance moderates the link between SDPA and PA engagement. In this study a group of 1,706 Chinesecollege students was recruited and asked to complete a set of questionnaires assessing their SDPA, PA levels, exercise-intensitytolerance, and features associated with emerging adulthood, namely Self-exploration, Instability, and Possibility. Our resultsindicated that SDPA positively predicted PA levels and this relationship became stronger when exercise-intensity tolerance wasused as a moderator. Furthermore, it was observed that individuals with a higher level of Instability and a lower level ofPossibility during emerging adulthood exhibited a lower level of SDPA. Taken together, the results of our study providefurther insights on a potential psychological mechanism linking features of emerging adulthood and physical activity.
