A cross-layer optimized query routing mismatch alleviation （QRMA） architecture is proposed to mitigate the problem of query routing mismatch （QRM） phenomenon between the structured peer to peer （P2P） overlay and the routing layer in mobile Ad-hoc networks （MANETs）, which is an important issue that results in the inefficiency of lookup process in the system. Explicated with the representative Chord protocol, the proposal exploits the information of topologic neighbors in the routing layer of MANETs to find if there is any optimized alternative next hop in P2P overlay during conventional lookup progress. Once an alternative next hop is detected, it will take the shortcut to accelerate the query procedure and therefore alleviate the QRM problem in scalable MANETs without any assistance of affiliation equipments such as GPS device. The probability of finding out such an alternative node is formulated and the factors that could increase the chance are discussed. The simulation results show that the proposed architecture can effectively alleviate the QRM problem and significantly improve the system performance compared with the conventional mechanism.

Pentaerythritol triacrylate （PETA） was successfully grafted onto the plasma-treated isotactic polypropylene （iPP） via the in situ melt processing. The X-ray photoelectron spectroscopy （XPS） results showed that the hydroxyl and carbonyl groups, and peroxides could be generated via plasma treatment. The content of free radical in plasma-treated iPP （PiPP） was measured by 2,2-diphenyl-1- picrylhydrazyl （DPPH）. It was found that the resulting peroxides induced the grafting copolymerization of PETA onto iPP, and the grafted PETA promoted the formation of β-crystal in PiPP, which was evidenced by Fourier transform infrared spectroscopy （FTIR）, differential scanning calorimetry （DSC） and wide-angle X-ray diffraction （WAXD） measurements, respectively.

AIM： To evaluate the effect of preoperative transcatheter arterial chemoembolization （TACE） on proliferation of hepatocellular carcinoma （HCC） cells. METHODS： A total of 136 patients with HCC underwent liver resection. Of 136 patients, 79 patients received 1 to 5 courses of TACE prior to liver resection （TACE group）, who were further subdivided into four groups： Group A （n = 11） who received i to 4 courses of chemotherapy alone; Group B （n = 33） who received i to 5 courses of chemotherapy combined with iodized oil; Group C （n = 23） who received i to 3 courses of chemotherapy combined with iodized oil and gelatin sponge; and Group D （n = 12） who received 1 to 3 courses of chemotherapy combined with iodized oil, ethanol and gelatin sponge. The other 57 patients only received liver resection （non- TACE group）. The expressions of Ki-67 and proliferating cell nuclear antigen （PCNA） protein were detected in the liver cancer tissues by immunohistochemical method. RESULTS： The Ki-67 protein expression was significantly lower in Groups C and D as compared with non-TACE group （31.35% ± 10.85% vs 44.43% ± 20.70%, 30.93% ± 18.10% vs 44.43% ± 20.70%, respectively, P 〈 0.05）. The PCNA protein expression was significantly lower in Groups C and D as compared with non-TACE group （49.61% ± 15.11% vs 62.92% ± 17.21%, 41.16% ± 11.83% vs 62.92% ± 17.21%, respectively, P 〈 0.05）. The Ki-67 protein expression was significantly higher in Group A as compared with non-TACE group （55.44% ± 13.72% vs 44.43% ± 20.70%, P 〈 0.05）. The PCNA protein expression was significantly higher in Groups A and B as compared with non-TACE group （72.22% ± 8.71% vs 62.92% ± 17.21%, 69.91% ± 13.38% vs 62.92% ± 17.21%, respectively, P 〈0.05）. CONCLUSION： Preoperative multi-material TACE suppresses the proliferation of HCC cells, while a single material embolization and chemotherapy alone enhance the proliferation of HCC cells.

The crystalline structures and crystallization behaviors of iPP containing β nucleation agent TMB-5 （iPP/TMB-5） were investigated by synchrotron radiation wide angel X-ray diffraction （SR-WAXD）, differential scanning calorimeter （DSC） and polarized light microscope （PLM）. It was found that α-crystallization lagged behind β-crystallization at normal temperatures, but the discrepancy reduced with increasing temperature. TMB-5 could not induce β-iPP when the nucleation agent is wrapped up with α-crystal that crystallized at high temperatures. The polymorphic composition of iPP/TMB-5 was susceptible to the introductory moment of shear. New crystallization process of β-nucleated iPP was proposed to understand the experimental phenomena which could not be explained by those reported in the literature. It was supposed that polymer crystallization initiated from mesophase, and the formations of iPP crystals involved the organization of helical conformation ordering within rnesophase. It was proposed that the iPP melt contained mesophases with stereocomplex-type ordering of right-handed and left-handed helical chains which could be disturbed by shear or TMB-5, leading to different polymorphic structures.

Isotactic polybutene-1 (iPB-1) is a semi-crystalline polymer with polymorph and puzzled structural transitions. The stable form I of iPB-1 with excellent physical and mechanical properties can hardly be obtained directly from the melt;instead, metastable form II will spontaneously and slowly transform into form I. Bypassing the unstable form II formation is of great significance in polymer processing, which inspires extensive research on seeking the pathways to direct formation of form I. Methods for accelerating form II to I transition are another main focus in terms of practical approach for directly obtaining form I. Taking advantage of the solvent, an ultrafast transition of iPB-1 from form II to I within minutes has been achieved at room temperature. Such an ultrafast transition is detected after treating with dichloromethane (DCM) at 30 ℃, though the framework of isothermally crystalized iPB-1 spherulite morphology could not be fully modified. The ultrafast II-I transition of iPB-1 is attributed to the solvent-induced packed-mesophase and temperature-selected chain conformation *** ultrafast transition would shed light on understanding the mechanisms of polymorphic transitions in iPB-1.

Association between inflammatory mediators and angiographic morphologic features indicating thrombus formation in patients with acute myocardial infarction

Background Inflammatory mechanisms had played an important role in the occurrence and prognosis of acute myocardial infarction, inflammatory mediators was associated with adverse outcomes of acute myocardial infarction. This study tested the hypothesis that in the acute phase of myocardial infarction with ST-segment elevation, neutrophil count and high-sensitivity C-reactive protein are predictive of angiographic morphologic features that indicate thrombus formation in the infarct-related artery. Methods This retrospective study included 182 consecutive patients with acute myocardial infarction and ST-segment elevation. Patients were assigned to a thrombus-formation group （n=77） and a non-thrombus-formation group （n=-106）. All patients had a Killip＇s classification 〈3 and onset 〈12 hours prior to presentation. All the cases were going to undergo coronary angiography, including primary percutaneous coronary intervention, simple coronary angiography, or thrombolysis in a coronary artery （or arteries） or coronary artery bypass graft（s）. Blood samples for measurement of high-sensitivity C-reactive protein and for routine blood laboratory studies were collected prior to coronary angiography. Results The levels of high-sensitivity C-reactive protein, total leukocyte counts, neutrophil counts, and neutrophil/ lymphocyte ratios were substantially higher in the thrombus-formation group than in the non-thrombus-formation group patients （for each, P 〈0.05）. Stepwise Logistic regression analyses identified high-sensitivity C-reactive protein, neutrophil count, and neutrophil/lymphocyte ratio as independent predictors of thrombus formation in the infarct-related artery （for each, P 〈0.05）. Conclusions In patients with acute myocardial infarction levels of high-sensitivity C-reactive protein are predictors to higher neutrophil counts, neutrophil/lymphocyte ratio, and ndicate thrombus formation

Background T-lymphoma and metastasis gene 1 （Tiaml） produces a guanine nucleotide exchange factor （GNEF） that regulates guanosine triphosphatase, which transforms guanosine diphosphate to guanosine triphosphate. Recently published data indicate that Tiaml was associated with gastric cancer. The aim of this study was to investigate biological effects and potential mechanisms of Tiara1 in gastric carcinoma. Methods We analyzed the expression of Tiaml in 114 pair-matched gastric neoplastic and adjacent non-neoplastic tissues by quantitative real-time PCR. We investigated Tiaml expression and its prognostic value for gastric cancer. Furthermore, the functions of Tiaml over-expression were analyzed with stable-expression Tiara1 plasmid in human gastric cancer cell lines. Results Tiaml expression was significantly associated with cell differentiation and lymphatic metastasis; expression of Tiaml mRNA was up-regulated in gastric cancer compared to pair-matched adjacent non-tumor tissues. Analyses of surgical tissue samples and 5-year survival of gastric cancer patients showed that those with strong Tiaml expression had significantly shorter overall survival time than those with negative Tiaml expression. Ectopic expression of Tiaml promoted cell growth, migration and invasion of gastric cancer cells in vitro. Conclusions In gastric cancer cells, Tiaml affects multiple properties associated with acquisition of the metastatic phenotype, and may be a marker of gastric cancer progression and metastasis in a subset of cancer.

Arbuscular mycorrhizal fungi(AMF)provide essential nutrients to crops and are affected by ***-solubilizing bacteria(PSB),nitrogen-fixing bacteria(NFB),and AMF have mutually beneficial relationships with plants,but the effects of their interactions on plant growth by regulating rhizosphere fungal community have not been sufficiently *** this study,a greenhouse pot experiment was conducted to investigate the interactions between AMF and bacteria(PSB and NFB)on the growth of Lotus corniculatus ***,the role of rhizosphere fungal community in the growth of Lotus corniculatus *** explored using Illumina MiSeq high-throughput *** results showed that combined inoculation of AMF with PSB and NFB increased plant biomass,plant height,and fungal colonization *** richness,complexity,and stability of rhizosphere fungal community also increased after combined inoculation of AMF with PSB and/or NFB,particularly with *** addition,combined inoculation of AMF with PSB and NFB enriched the abundance of beneficial microorganisms,with Chaetomium and Humicola showing the greatest *** structural equation model showed that the interactions of AMF with PSB and NFB promoted plant growth by affecting fungal network structure and soil enzyme activities involved in carbon,nitrogen,and phosphorus *** findings provide evidence for the effects of interactions of AMF with PSB and NFB on rhizosphere fungal community and plant growth.

Deformable gel particles(DGPs) possess the capability of deep profile control and flooding. However, the deep migration behavior and plugging mechanism along their path remain unclear. Breakage, an inevitable phenomenon during particle migration, significantly impacts the deep plugging effect. Due to the complexity of the process, few studies have been conducted on this subject. In this paper, we conducted DGP flow experiments using a physical model of a multi-point sandpack under various injection rates and particle sizes. Particle size and concentration tests were performed at each measurement point to investigate the transportation behavior of particles in the deep part of the reservoir. The residual resistance coefficient and concentration changes along the porous media were combined to analyze the plugging performance of DGPs. Furthermore, the particle breakage along their path was revealed by analyzing the changes in particle size along the way. A mathematical model of breakage and concentration changes along the path was established. The results showed that the passage after breakage is a significant migration behavior of particles in porous media. The particles were reduced to less than half of their initial size at the front of the porous media. Breakage is an essential reason for the continuous decreases in particle concentration, size, and residual resistance coefficient. However, the particles can remain in porous media after breakage and play a significant role in deep plugging. Higher injection rates or larger particle sizes resulted in faster breakage along the injection direction, higher degrees of breakage, and faster decreases in residual resistance coefficient along the path. These conditions also led to a weaker deep plugging ability. Smaller particles were more evenly retained along the path, but more particles flowed out of the porous media, resulting in a poor deep plugging effect.
