Biological sources, paleoenvironment, and organic matter enrichment in source rocks of the Ordovician Majiagou Formation, Ordos Basin, China:Evidence from biomarkers,microfossils, and inorganic geochemical analyses

Carbonate deposits in the Ordovivian Majiagou Formation are significant source rocks for natural gas generation in the Ordos Basin, northwestern China. Previous studies mainly focused on the organic matter enrichment mechanism of shales rather than carbonate rocks. The biological sources and paleoenvironment of carbonate source rocks, and the main controlling factors of organic matter enrichment in the carbonate source rocks were studied in this paper in combination with evidence from biomarkers, microfossils and inorganic geochemistry analysis. The results show that four types of microfacies were identified in the Majiagou Formation, respectively as: mud flat microfacies, mud-dolomite flat microfacies, dolomite flat microfacies, and open marine microfacies. The biological sources of organic matter are chiefly planktonic algae, followed by bacteria. The mud flat and mud-dolomite flat contain a high abundance of terrigenous detrital inputs, as indicated by the high content of Al_(2)O_(3), TiO_(2), Th, and Zr. The low Sr/Cu and high Rb/Sr values reveal warm and humid paleoclimate conditions in the mud flat and mud-dolomite flat, whereas the dolomite flat and open marine were likely formed in hot and arid paleoclimate conditions. The mud flat and mud-dolomite flat deposits were characterized by high paleoproductivity of the Majiagou Formation. Low Sr/Ba values were found in the mud flat samples, indicating fresh to brackish water condition, whereas samples of other facies have a relatively high degree of salinity. Based on U_(auth), Mo_(auth), Cr_(auth), Co_(auth), δCe, and δEu values, the mud flat microfacies was formed in a suboxic and anoxic environment, whereas the mud-dolomite flat, dolomite flat and open marine microfacies were within dysoxic to oxic conditions. A model of organic matter enrichment in the Majiagou Formation is thus established. Background To investigate the effects of lighting conditions and accommodation on the three-dimensional position of Visian implantable collamer lens(ICL V4c).Methods This observational study recruited 62 eyes of 31 myopia patients underwent ICL V4c *** segment optical coherence tomography(AS-OCT)assessed the anterior chamber depth(ACD),ACD-ICL(distance from the corneal endothelium to anterior surface of the ICL V4c),vault(distance between the posterior ICL V4c surface and anterior crystalline lens surface),and crystalline lens tilt under various lighting conditions and accommodation relative to the corneal topographic axis at one year after ICL V4c *** was defined as the scotopic condition,which was also the non-accommodative stimulus *** ICL V4c tilt was analyzed using *** significance level was set at Phe ACD-ICL values were similar under various lighting conditions(P=0.978)but decreased during accommodation(Phe vault was significantly smaller under mesopic and photopic conditions than the baseline(P=0.044 and Phe inferotemporal proportion of ICL V4c(88.7%,55 eyes)and crystalline lens(74.2%,46 eyes)tilts were not significantly different(P=0.063).Crystalline lens under various lighting conditions and accommodation exhibited similar *** vertical tilt of ICL V4c was significantly larger under photopic conditions than the baseline(P=0.038).The horizontal and total tilts were significantly decreased during accommodation(P=0.043 and 0.013,respectively).Conclusions The axial position of ICL V4c in the anterior chamber was stable under various lighting *** conditions and accommodation may influence vertical,horizontal and total tilts of ICL V4c.

An unexpected approach to enhance specific surface area and mesopore amount of polyaniline by Zn doping

Poly-p-anisidine could be easily fabricated via the oxidative polymerization reaction of p-anisidine using H2O2as the green oxidant. It was unexpectedly found that zinc doping could significantly improve the adsorption ability of the material versus heavy metals such as Pb, Cu,Pd, Ag and Hg. Results of nitrogen adsorption–desorption experiments demonstrated that Zn doping could enhance the specific surface area and mesopore amount of the prepared material, which might facilitate its absorption to metals. This work not only provides a novel material for the treatment of heavy metal-polluted water but also leads to a nice mesoporous catalyst support for environment protection and organic synthesis, i.e. the Zn-doped poly-panisidine can be employed as the catalyst support to prepare Cu@PANI-OMe/Zn or Pd@PANI-OMe/Zn for the oxidative degradation reaction of phenol or Suzuki–Miyaura coupling reactions, respectively. It discloses a new strategy for fabricating the mesoporous polyaniline materials with profound application potential.

Inflammasomes are large protein complexes that play a major role in sensing inflammatory signals and triggering the innate immune *** inflammasome complex has three major components:an upstream sensor molecule that is connected to a downstream effector protein such as caspase-1 through the adapter protein *** formation typically occurs in response to infectious agents or cellular *** active inflammasome then triggers caspase-1 activation,followed by the secretion of pro-inflammatory cytokines and pyroptotic cell *** inflammasome activation and activity contribute to the development of diabetes,cancer,and several cardiovascular and neurodegenerative *** a result,recent research has increasingly focused on investigating the mechanisms that regulate inflammasome assembly and activation,as well as the potential of targeting inflammasomes to treat various *** clinical trials are currently underway to evaluate the therapeutic potential of several distinct inflammasome-targeting ***,understanding how different inflammasomes contribute to disease pathology may have significant implications for developing novel therapeutic *** this article,we provide a summary of the biological and pathological roles of inflammasomes in health and *** also highlight key evidence that suggests targeting inflammasomes could be a novel strategy for developing new disease-modifying therapies that may be effective in several conditions.

Internal solitary waves(ISWs)change the roughness of the sea surface,thus producing dark and bright bands in optical ***,reasons for changes in imaging characteristics with the solar zenith angle remain *** this paper,the optical imaging pattern of ISWs in sunglint under different zenith angles of the light source is investigated by collecting optical images of ISWs through physical *** experiment involves setting 10 zenith angles of the light source,which are divided into area a the optical images of ISWs in the three areas show dark-bright mode,single bright band,and bright-dark mode,which are consistent with those observed by optical remote *** addition,this study analyzed the percentage of the dark and bright areas of the bands and the change in the relative gray difference and found changes in both areas under different zenith angles of the light *** MODIS and ASAR images display a similar brightness-darkness distance of the same ***,the relationship between the brightness-darkness distance and the characteristic half-width of ISWs is determined in accordance with the eKdV theory and the imaging mechanism of ISWs of the SAR ***,the relationship between them in the experiment is almost consistent with the theoretical result.

Optical remote sensing has been widely used to study internal solitary waves(ISWs).Wind speed has an important effect on ISW imaging of optical remote *** light and dark bands of ISWs cannot be observed by optical remote sensing when the wind is too *** relationship between the characteristics of ISWs bands in optical remote sensing images and the wind speed is still *** influence of wind speeds on the characteristics of the ISWs bands is investigated based on the physical simulation experiments with the wind speeds of 1.6,3.1,3.5,3.8,and 3.9 m/*** experimental results show that when the wind speed is 3.9 m/s,the ISWs bands cannot be observed in optical remote sensing images with the stratification of h_(1)∶h_(2)=7∶58,ρ_(1)∶ρ_(2)=1∶*** the wind speeds are 3.1,3.5,and 3.8 m/s,which is lower than 3.9 m/s,the ISWs bands can be obtained in the simulated optical remote sensing *** location of the band’s dark and light extremum and the band’s peak-to-peak spacing are almost not affected by wind ***-significant wind speeds can cause a greater gray difference of the light-dark *** provided a scientific basis for further understanding of ISW optical remote sensing imaging.

Neoadjuvant therapy can yield clinical benefits in earlystage breast cancer with *** indications,treatment regimens,and efficacy of neoadjuvant therapy have been investigated,which have contributed valuable clinical evidence.[1,2]The Chinese Society of Breast Surgery convened a panel of breast disease experts to review and discuss the literature on neoadjuvant therapy for breast cancer and evaluate relevant evidence by referring to the Grading of Recommendations,Assessment,Development,and Evaluations(GRADE)*** into account China’s specific circumstances,the society and participating experts developed the Clinical Practice Guidelines for Neoadjuvant Therapy for Early-stage Breast Cancer(Version 2022)to serve as a reference for breast surgeons in China.

Single Fe atom-anchored manganese dioxide for efficient removal of volatile organic compounds in refrigerator

The efficient and rapid removal of volatile organic compounds(VOCs)holds significant importance for ensuring food quality and human health,particularly within the low-temperature confined spaces in ***,achieving effective VOCs degradation under such conditions poses challenges in terms of activating inert bonds and facilitating mass *** this study,we propose a novel solution by designing a cleaner module that incorporates 1.07%single Fe atom-anchored manganese dioxide catalysts(FeSAs-MnO_(2)).The combination of single Fe atoms and defect-rich MnO_(2) substrate efficiently activates molecular oxygen,leading to enhanced generation of highly reactive oxygen species(ROS).Non-thermal plasma(NTP)and circulating fan are introduced to facilitate the regeneration of catalytic activity and improve mass *** FeSAs-MnO_(2) cleaner module demonstrates exceptional performance in trimethylamine(TMA)removal,achieving a conversion efficiency of 98.9%for 9 ppm within just 9 ***,accelerated aging tests predict an extended service life of up to 45 years for the FeSAs-MnO_(2) cleaner module,surpassing the expected lifespan of refrigerators significantly.

Non-contact gaseous microplasma electrode as anode for electrodeposition of metal and metal alloy in molten salt

Microplasma based on glow discharge could act as a non-contact gaseous electrode and has attracted much attention in both fundamental research and application. herein, with microplasma as the anode,the electrodeposition process of a series of metal and metal alloys in molten salt has been systemically studied. Four metal cations with different valence states, silver(Ag~+), nickel(Ni^(2+)), copper(Cu^(2+)), and iron(Fe^(3+)), could all be reduced on the solid cathode with high current efficiency and the corresponding metal products were of high purity. The electrodeposition of aluminum-lanthanum(Al-Ln) alloy on the aluminum cathode was also successfully carried out with microplasma as the anode, and the same alloy was obtained by using the conventional anode electrode. These results indicated that microplasma anode based on non-contact direct-current(DC) glow discharge is a promising electrode to be applied in molten salt electrolysis.
