AIM:To investigate the effect of 0.01%low-concentration atropine(LA)on quantitative contrast sensitivity function(qCSF)in children with ***:This paired case-control study included 90 eyes of 58 children who were sex-,age-,and refractionmatched and equally divided into two groups:the 0.01%LA group had undergone 6mo use of daily 0.01%atropine and control group was naïve to *** ophthalmic examinations and qCSF test without refractive correction were *** groups were compared in monocular and binocular qCSF parameters,including the area under logCSF,CSF acuity,and contrast sensitivity(CS)at 1.0-18.0 cycle per degree(cpd).RESULTS:In the monocular comparison,the CSF acuity of the LA group was significantly higher than that of the control group(7.58±5.51 vs 6.37±4.22 cpd,P<0.05).The subgroup analysis showed that in the 6-9y group,CSF acuity was significantly higher in the LA group than the control group(8.76±6.19 vs 6.54±4.25 cpd,P<0.05),and in the Female group,low refraction sphere group,and high refraction cylinder group,the CS at high spatial frequencies(12.0 and 18.0 cpd)were significantly higher in the LA group than in the control group(all P<0.05).In the binocular test,CSF acuity and CS at 12.0 cpd were significantly higher in the LA group than in the control group(10.95±7.00 vs 8.65±5.12 cpd;0.17±0.33 vs 0.06±0.16,respectively;both P<0.05).CONCLUSION:Use of LA may result in improved CS in children with early onset myopia.

High-throughput screening and evaluation of double-linker metal–organic frameworks for CO_(2)/H_(2)adsorption and separation

The capture of CO_(2)from CO_(2)/H_(2)gas mixtures in syngas is a crucial issue for hydrogen production from steam methane reforming in industry,as the presence of CO_(2)directly affects the purity of H_(2).A combination of a high-throughput screening method and grand canonical Monte Carlo simulation was utilized to evaluate and screen 1725 metal–organic frameworks(MOFs)in detail as a means of determining their adsorption performance for CO_(2)/H_(2)gas *** adsorption and separation performance of double-linker MOFs was comprehensively evaluated using eight evaluation indicators,namely,the largest cavity diameter,accessible surface area,pore occupied accessible volume,porosity,adsorption selectivity,working capacity,adsorbent performance score and percent *** optimal performance frameworks were screened to further study their single-component adsorption and binary competitive adsorption of CO_(2)/H_(2)*** CO_(2)adsorption selectivity at different CO_(2)/H_(2)feed ratios was also evaluated,which indicated their excellent adsorption and separation *** microscopic adsorption mechanisms for CO_(2)and H_(2)at the molecular level were investigated by analyzing the radial distribution function and density *** study may provide directional guidance and reference for subsequent experiments on the adsorption and separation of CO_(2)/H_(2).

Dark energy effects on surface gravitational redshift and Keplerian frequency of neutron stars

Research on the properties of neutron stars with dark energy is a particularly interesting yet unresolved problem in *** analyze the influence of dark energy on the equation of state,the maximum mass,the surface gravitational redshift and the Keplerian frequency for the traditional neutron star and the hyperon star matter within the relativistic mean field theory,using the GM1 and TM1 parameter sets by considering the two flavor symmetries of SU(6)and SU(3)combined with the observations of PSR J1614-2230,PSR J0348+0432,PSR J0030+0451,RX J0720.4-3125,and 1E *** is found that the existence of dark energy leads to the softened equations of the state of the traditional neutron star and the hyperon *** radius of a fixed-mass traditional neutron star(or hyperon star)with dark energy becomes smaller,which leads to increased *** existence of dark energy can also enhance the surface gravitational redshift and the Keplerian frequency of traditional neutron stars and hyperon *** growth of the Keplerian frequency may cause the spin rate to speed up,which may provide a possible way to understand and explain the pulsar glitch ***,we infer that the mass and the surface gravitational redshift of PSR J1748-2446ad without dark energy for the GM1(TM1)parameter set are 1.141 M_(☉)(1.309 M_(☉))and 0.095(0.105),*** corresponding values for the GM1(TM1)parameter set are 0.901 M_(☉)(1.072M_(☉))and 0.079(0.091)if PSR J1748-2446ad contains dark energy withα=*** J1748-2446ad may be a low-mass pulsar with a lower surface gravitational redshift under our selected models.

Chase-and-escape motion,which is a typical behavior between a predator and prey,is an important dynamics in animate *** has been concerned recently in optics aiming for achieving novel light steering and switching ***,this optical counterpart can be realized in only one dimension because of the challenges in maintaining the chase-and-escape ***,we report,both theoretically and experimentally,the optical predator-prey dynamics in two dimensions for the first *** nonreciprocal interaction,two beams can form a localized or oblique spiral chase-and-escape motion,which persists owing to the mutual light *** optical phenomena are observed in these dynamics:the angular momentum is not conserved and the resulting transverse traveling motion can be opposite to the applied initial momentum and enhanced by increasing the internal light *** results can inspire further fundamental studies by exploring analogous animate phenomena in optics that are potentially useful for developing optical intelligence functions.

Oxygen vacancies enriched Ir/WOx catalysts for the directly chem-catalytic conversion of cellulose to ethanol

Tungsten and its oxides are highly versatile catalysts with unique properties that hold great promise for a wide array of applications,including biological pathways and chemical *** chemo-catalysis of cellulose to ethanol presents a promising avenue for ethanol synthesis with the potential for enhanced efficiency compared to conventional methods,offering a sustainable and carbon-neutral alternative to existing petrochemical and biological ***,Ir/WOxcatalysts enriched with oxygen vacancies were meticulously prepared and demonstrated remarkable catalytic performance in converting cellulose to ethanol directly in the presence of tungstic *** catalyst achieved a high ethanol yield of 66.5%under optimal reaction conditions,approaching the theoretical yield limit of traditional ethanol *** results revealed the presence of oxygen defects,Bronsted/Lewis acidity,and Ir nanoclusters on the catalyst surface,working synergistically to facilitate the cascade catalysis of cellulose hydrolysis,sugar retro-aldol condensation reaction,and C2 intermediate hydrodeoxygenation to *** situ Fourier transform infrared spectrometer analysis confirmed the catalyst's ability to enhance the adsorption and activation of ethylene glycol for ethanol *** manipulating subtle structural features,this study offers a fresh perspective on tungsten group catalyst design and underscores the importance of synergistic effects among catalytic sites for the efficient production of ethanol from cellulose.

Effects of Shenqi Xiangyi granules in advanced gastric cancer chemotherapy

BACKGROUND Owing to the absence of specific symptoms in early-stage gastric cancer,most patients are diagnosed at intermediate or advanced *** a result,treatment often shifts from surgery to other therapies,with chemotherapy and targeted therapies being the primary options for advanced gastric cancer treatment.A total of 116 patients with advanced gastric cancer,admitted from January 2021 to December 2023,were selected and divided into two groups of 58 each using the random number table *** control group received FOLFOX4 chemothe-rapy(oxaliplatin+calcium+folinate+5-fluorouracil)combined with intravenous *** observation group received the same treatment as the control group,supplemented by oral administration of Senqi Shiyiwei *** groups underwent treatment cycles of 3 weeks,with a minimum of two *** therapeutic efficacy,immune mechanisms,and treatment-related toxicity and side effects were compared between the *** objective remission rate in the observation group(55.17%)was higher than that of the control group(36.21%)(P0.05).CONCLUSION Adjuvant therapy with Shenqixian granules may enhance the efficacy of simudizumab combined with FOLFOX4 chemotherapy in advanced gastric cancer and the immune function by increasing immune cell counts,making it a valuable option in clinical treatment.

Microstructural evolution during tempering process and mechanical properties of Cr-Ni-Mo-V/Nb high strength steel

High strength steels exhibit superior mechanical properties due to the unique microstructure,which successfully solves the drawback of the inevitable strength-toughness trade-off that occurs in traditional *** we investigated the effect of matrix and precipitates on mechanical properties of Cr-Ni-Mo-V/Nb steel after water quenching and tempering(150-500℃).The results showed that the microstructure of the present steel is noticeably tuned by changing the tempering *** excellent combination of strength(a yield strength of 1308 MPa with a total elongation of 8.2%)and toughness(Charpy V-notch impact toughness of 40.5 J/cm^(2))is obtained upon tempering at 200℃.This is attributed to the lath martensite containing high dislocation density,the martensite-twin substructure,and the strengthening effects of the precipitated needle-likeε-carbides and spherical VC *** acicularε-carbides are replaced by the rod-shaped Fe_(3)C at the tempering temperature of 350℃,resulting in the remarkable deterioration in strength,hardness,and *** carbides formed at a tempering temperature of 500℃ are beneficial to the enhancement of the elongation and toughness,but the strength decreases due to the matrix softening caused by the recovery of dislocation.

Global interest in lithium-sulfur batteries as one of the most promising energy storage technologies has been sparked by their low sulfur cathode cost,high gravimetric,volumetric energy densities,abundant resources,and environmental ***,their practical application is significantly impeded by several serious issues that arise at the cathode-electrolyte interface,such as interface structure degradation including the uneven deposition of Li_(2)S,unstable cathode-electrolyte interphase(CEI)layer and intermediate polysulfide shuttle ***,an optimized cathode-electrolyte interface along with optimized electrodes is required for overall ***,we comprehensively outline the challenges and corresponding strategies,including electrolyte optimization to create a dense CEI layer,regulating the Li_(2)S deposition pattern,and inhibiting the shuttle effect with regard to the solid-liquid-solid pathway,the transformation from solid-liquid-solid to solid-solid pathway,and solid-solid pathway at the cathode-electrolyte *** order to spur more perceptive research and hasten the widespread use of lithium-sulfur batteries,viewpoints on designing a stable interface with a deep comprehension are also put forth.

Although solar steam generation strategy is efficient in desalinating seawater,it is still challenging to achieve continuous solar-thermal desalination of seawater and catalytic degradation of organic ***,dynamic regulations of hydrogen bonding networks and solvation structures are realized by designing an asymmetric bilayer membrane consisting of a bacterial cellulose/carbon nanotube/Co_(2)(OH)_(2)CO_(3)nanorod top layer and a bacterial cellulose/Co_(2)(OH)_(2)CO_(3)nanorod(BCH)bottom ***,the hydrogen bonding networks inside the membrane can be tuned by the rich surface–OH groups of the bacterial cellulose and Co_(2)(OH)_(2)CO_(3)as well as the ions and radicals in situ generated during the catalysis ***,both SO_(4)^(2−)and HSO_(5)−can regulate the solvation structure of Na^(+)and be adsorbed more preferentially on the evaporation surface than Cl^(−),thus hindering the de-solvation of the solvated Na^(+)and subsequent nucleation/growth of ***,the heat generated by the solar-thermal energy conversion can accelerate the reaction kinetics and enhance the catalytic degradation *** work provides a flow-bed water purification system with an asymmetric solar-thermal and catalytic membrane for synergistic solar thermal desalination of seawater/brine and catalytic degradation of organic pollutants.
