BACKGROUND Microvascular invasion(MVI)is a critical prognostic factor for postoperative hepatocellular carcinoma recurrence,but the reliability of its current pathological diagnosis remains *** To evaluate the accuracy of current 7-point sampling methods and propose an optimal pathological protocol using whole-mount slide imaging(WSI)for better MVI *** We utilized 40 New Zealand white rabbits to establish VX2 liver tumor *** entire tumor-containing liver lobe was subsequently obtained,following which five different sampling protocols(A-E)were employed to evaluate the detection rate,accuracy,quantity,and distribution of MVI,with the aim of identifying the optimal sampling *** VX2 liver tumor models were successfully established in 37 rabbits,with an incidence of MVI of 81.1%(30/37).The detection rates[27%(10/37),43%(16/37),62%(23/37),68%(25/37),and 93%(14/15)]and quantity(15,36,107,125,and 395)of MVI increased significantly from protocols A to *** distribution of MVI showed fewer MVIs farther away from the tumor,but the percentage of MVI detected quantity gradually increased from 6.7%to 48.3%in the distant nonneoplastic liver tissue from protocols A to *** C was identified as the optimal sampling method by comparing them in *** sampling protocol of three consecutive interval WSIs at the tumor center(WSI3)was further screened to determine the optimal number of *** A(7-point sampling method)exhibited only 46%accuracy and a high false-negative rate of 67%.Notably,the WSI3 protocol improved the accuracy to 78%and decreased the false-negative rate to 27%.CONCLUSION The current 7-point sampling method has a high false-negative rate in MVI *** contrast,the WSI3 protocol provides a practical and effective approach to improve MVI diagnostic accuracy,which is crucial for hepatocellular carcinoma diagnosis and treatment planning.

Three-dimensional simulations of RF wave propagation and power coupling in cold magnetized plasma near an ICRF antenna

The electromagnetic wave propagations and their coupling characteristics in magnetized plasma near the antenna of ion cyclotron range of frequencies(ICRF)is studied based on self-developed 3DFEM-IA *** code effectively resolves the three-dimensional(3D)geometry and the electromagnetic field using the finite element *** findings reveal that the distributions of electromagnetic fields and energy flow density significantly depend on the antenna phases,surface current density on the antenna straps,and background plasma ***,the non-uniform surface current density on the antenna straps,resulting from the presence of induced currents,contributes to a reduction in coupling power within the edge ***,the calculated coupling impedance increases with plasma density,corroborating well with experimental measurements.

Attribution analysis of trends in reference crop evapotranspiration in China

Reference crop evapotranspiration(ET_(0)) is essential for determining crop water requirements and developing irrigation *** this study,ET_(0) was calculated via the FAO-56 Penman-Monteith model,and the spatiotemporal variations in ET_(0) over China from 1960 to 2019 were *** then quantified the contributions of five driving factors(air temperature,wind speed,relative humidity,sunshine hours,and CO_(2) concentration)to the ET_(0) trends via a detrending *** results revealed that nationwide ET_(0) showed no significant(p>0.05)decreasing trend from 1960 to 2019,with a trend of−8.56×10^(−2)mm a^(−2).The average temperature and wind speed were identified as the dominant factors affecting ET_(0)trends at the national *** contributions of the driving factors to the ET_(0) trends were ranked in the following order:average temperature(21.3%)>wind speed(−15.63%)>sunshine hours(−11.99%)>CO_(2) concentration(6.36%)>relative humidity(3.58%).Spatially,the dominant factors influencing the ET_(0) trends varied *** the southeastern region,average temperature and sunshine hours dominated the trends of ET_(0),whereas wind speed and average temperature were the dominant factors in the northwestern *** findings provide valuable insights into the dominant factors affecting ET_(0)trends in China and highlight the importance of considering different driving factors in calculating crop water requirements.

The therapeutic efficacy of traditional Chinese medicine has been widely acknowledged due to its extensive history of clinical effectiveness. However, the precise active components underlying each prescription remain incompletely understood. Polysaccharides, as a major constituent of water decoctions —the most common preparation method for Chinese medicinals—may provide a crucial avenue for deepening our understanding of the efficacy principles of Chinese medicine and establishing a framework for its modern development. The structural complexity and diversity of Chinese herbal polysaccharides present significant challenges in their separation and analysis compared to small molecules. This paper aims to explore the potential of Chinese herbal polysaccharides efficiently by briefly summarizing recent advancements in polysaccharide chemical research, focusing on methods of acquisition, structure elucidation, and quality control.

Polypropylene-based blend with enhanced breakdown strength under gamma-ray irradiation for cable insulation

This study focuses on the electrical properties and microstructure of polypropylene(PP)-based blends used for cable insulation in nuclear power plants(NPPs).The PP-based blend,comprising isotactic PP and propylene-based elastomer(PBE)at concentrations ranging from 0 to 50 wt%,underwent a melt blending process and subsequent cobalt-60 gamma-ray irradiation with doses ranging from 0 to 250 *** conductivity,trap distribution,and alternating(AC)breakdown strength were chosen to assess the insulation *** results indicate that the addition of PBE significantly improves the electrical properties of PP under *** PP,the electrical conductivity increased with irradiation,whereas the trap depth and breakdown strength decreased ***,for the blend,these changes initially exhibit opposite *** the irradiation was increased to 250 kGy,the AC breakdown strength of the blend improved by more than 21%compared to that of *** physical and chemical structures of the samples were investigated to explore the improvement *** results offer insights into the design of new cable-insulation materials suitable for NPPs.

Highly conductive and stable iodine doped argyrodite electrolyte for all-solid-state lithium batteries

lithium argyrodites with high ionic conductivity and low cost are considered as one of the most prospective solid electrolytes for all-solid-state lithium ***,the poor chemical stability and compatibility with lithium metal limit their ***,li_(5.4)PS_(4.4)Cl1.4I0.2solid electrolyte with high ionic conductivity of 11.49 m S ccm^(-1)and improved chemical stability is synthesized by iodine *** ultra-thin li_(5.4)PS_(4.4)Cl_(1.4)I_(0.2)membrane with thickness of 10μm can be obtained by wet coating process,exhibiting a high ionic conductivity of 2.09 mS ccm^(-1)and low areal resistance of 1.17Ωcm^(-2).Moreover,iodine doping could in-situ form liI at the lithium/electrolyte interface and improve the critical current density of li_(5.4)PS_(4.4)Cl_(1.6)from 0.8 to 1.35 mA cm^(-2).The resultant liCoO_(2)/li_(5.4)PS_(4.4)Cl_(1.4)I_(0.2)/li battery shows excellent cycling stability at 1 C,with a reversible specific capacity of 110.1 mA h g^(-1)and a retention of 80.5% after 1000 *** addition,the assembled liCoO_(2)/li_(5.4)PS_(4.4)Cl_(1.4)I_(0.2)membrane/li pouch cell delivers an initial discharge capacity of 110.4 mA h g^(-1)and 80.5% capacity retention after 100 cycles.

The effect of rolling schedules on the ridging resistance of ultra-thin ferritic stainless steel(FSS)430 foil was evaluated by studying the microstructure and *** results show that specimens processed with three-pass cold rolling under the reductions of 40%,40%and 31%,respectively,exhibit improved ridging resistance owing to the microstructural refinement and the texture structure optimization.A nearly 40%reduction of ridging height can be achieved using the proposed rolling schedule compared to the other two rolling *** addition,the effect of annealing temperature after cold rolling on the ridging resistance of FSS 430 foil is also found to be crucial,and an optimal annealing temperature of 900℃ is obtained for FSS 430 foil with high ridging ***,the improvement in the ridging resistance of FSS 430 foil can be attributed to the reduction in the fraction of{001}and{114}components by optimization of the rolling and annealing processes.
