lipids and glucose exert many essential physiological functions,such as providing raw materials or energy for cellular biosynthesis,regulating cell signal transduction,and maintaining a constant body *** of lipid and glucose metabolism can lead to glucolipid metabolic disorders linked to various metabolic diseases,such as obesity,diabetes,and cardiovascular ***,intervention in glucolipid metabolism is a key therapeutic strategy for the treatment of metabolic *** transcription factor 3(ATF3)is a transcription factor that acts as a hub of the cellular adaptive-response network and plays a pivotal role in the regulation of inflammation,apoptosis,DNA repair,and *** evidence has illustrated the vital roles of ATF3 in glucolipid ***3 inhibits intestinal lipid absorption,enhances hepatic triglyceride hydrolysis and fatty acid oxidation,promotes macrophage reverse cholesterol transport,and attenuates the progression of western diet-induced nonalcoholic fatty liver disease and *** addition to its role in lipid metabolism,ATF3 has also been identified as an important regulator of glucose ***,we summarize the recent advances in the understanding of ATF3,mainly focusing on its role in glucose and lipid metabolism and potential therapeutic implications.

Carbon cathode with heteroatom doping and ultrahigh surface area enabling enhanced capacitive behavior for potassium-ion hybrid capacitors

Potassium-ion hybrid capacitors(PIHCs)are widely regarded as highly promising energy storage devices,due to their exceptional energy density,impressive power density,and abundant potassium ***,restricted by the inherent capacitive storage mechanism,the carbon cathodes possess a much lower specific capacity than battery-type ***,designing high-performance carbon cathodes is extremely urgent for the development of ***,N,O codoped porous carbon(NOPC)was fabricated through the NaCl hard template method and combined KOH/melamine chemical activation technique,displaying the characteristics of abundant N/O content(4.7 at%/16.9 at%),ultrahigh specific surface area(3092 m^(2)g^(-1))and hierarchical pore *** designed NOPC cathode delivers a high specific capacity(164.4 mAh.g^(-1)at 0.05 A.g^(-1))and superior cyclability(95.1%retention ratio at 2 A·g^(-1)over 2500 cycles).Notably,the adjustable ratio of micropores to mesopores facilitates the achievement of the optimal bal-ance between capacity and rate ***,the pseudocapacitance can be further augmented through the incorporation of N/O functional *** expected,the graphite//NOPC based PIHC possesses a high energy density of 113 Wh·kg-at 747 W·kg^(-1)and excellent capacity retention of 84.4% fter 400 cycles at 1.0 A·g^(-1).This work introduces a novel strategy for designing carbon cathodes that enhances the electrochemical performance of PIHCs.

In situ tumor vaccine with optimized nanoadjuvants and lymph node targeting capacity to treat ovarian cancer and metastases

Tumor vaccine,a promising modality of tumor immunotherapy,needs to go through the process of tumor antigen generation and loading,antigen drainage to lymph nodes(LNs),antigen internalization by dendritic cells(DCs),DC maturation,and antigen cross-presentation to activate ***,tumor vaccines are often unable to satisfy all the steps,leading to the limitation of their application and ***,based on a smart nanogel system,an in situ nano-vaccine(CpG@Man-P/Tra/Gel)targeting LNs was constructed to induce potent anti-tumor immune effects and inhibit the recurrence and metastasis of ovarian *** CpG@Man-P/Tra/Gel exhibited MMP-2-sensitive release of trametinib(Tra)and nano-adjuvant CPG@Man-P,which generated abundant in situ depot of whole-cell tumor antigens and formed in situ nano-vaccines with CpG@*** from mannose(Man)modification,the nano-vaccines targeted to LNs,promoted the uptake of antigens by DCs,further inducing the maturation of DCs and activation of T ***,CpG@Man-P with different particle sizes were prepared and the effective size was selected to evaluate the antitumor effect and immune response in ***,combined with PD-1 blocking,the vaccine effectively inhibited primary tumor growth and induced tumor-specific immune response against tumor recurrence and metastasis of ovarian cancer.

Performance of Cobalt-Based Fischer-Tropsch Synthesis Catalysts Using Dielectric-Barrier Discharge Plasma as an Alternative to Thermal Calcination

Co-based catalysts were prepared by using dielectric-barrier discharge （DBD） plasma as an alternative method to conventional thermal calcination. The characterization results of N2-physisorption, temperature programmed reduction （TPR）, transmission electron microscope （TEM）, and X-ray diffraction （XRD） indicated that the catalysts prepared by DBD plasma had a higher specific surface area, lower reduction temperature, smaller particle size and higher cobalt dispersion as compared to calcined catalysts. The DBD plasma method can prevent the sintering and aggregation of active particles on the support due to the decreased treatment time （0.5 h） at lower temperature compared to the longer thermal calcination at higher temperature （at 500~C for 5 h）. As a result, the catalytic performance of the Fischer-Tropsch synthesis on DBD plasma treated Co/Si02 catalyst showed an enhanced activity, C5＋ selectivity and catalytic stability as compared to the conventional thermal calcined Co/SiO2 catalyst.

In the present study,Ti-Zr-Cu-Ni amorphous filler metal was used to braze MgAl_(2)O_(4)ceramic and Ti-6Al-4V(TC4)at 875,900,925,950,975 and 1000℃for 10 *** effects of brazing temperature on interfacial microstructure and mechanical properties of the joints were *** results showed that typical microstructure of the TC4/MgAl_(2)O_(4)joint was solid solution(SS)α-Ti,acicularα-Ti+(Ti,Zr)_(2)(Ni,Cu)layer,metallic glasses and *** the increase in brazing temperature,(Ti,Zr)_(2)(Ni,Cu)layer gradually dispersed at bonding interface,a continuous layer of TiO appears near MgAl_(2)O_(4)*** the increase in brazing temperature,the hard and brittle(Ti,Zr)_(2)(Ni,Cu)layer gradually dispersed,resulting in the maximum shear strength of 39.5 *** high-resolution TEM revealed the presence of amorphous structure,which is composed of Ti,Zr,Cu,Ni and *** values ofδandΔH_(mix)are calculated to be about 8%and−39.82 kJ/mol for the amorphous phase.

lime and Phosphate Could Reduce Cadmium Uptake by Five Vegetables Commonly Grown in South China

A pot experiment was conducted in artificially Cd-contaminated （5 mg Cd kg 1） soils to investigate the feasibility of using lime （3 g kg-1） or phosphate （80 mg P kg-1） to mitigate uptake of Cd by vegetables. Five common vegetables in South China, including lettuce （Lactuca sativa L. var. ramosa Hort.）, Chinese cabbage [Brassica rapa L. subsp. Chinensis （L.） var. parachinensis （L. H. Bailey） Hanect], Chinese broccoli （Brassica oleracea L. vat. albiflora Kuntze）, white amaranth （Amaranthus tricolor L.） and purslane （Amaranthus viridis L.）, were grown in the soils and harvested after 60 d. The results showed that liming significantly reduced Cd uptake by most vegetables by 40%-50% （or a maximum of 70%）, mainly due to immobilization of soil Cd. Increased availability of Ca in the soil might also contribute to the Cd uptake reduction as a result of absorption competition between Ca and Cd. liming caused biomass reduction in white amaranth and purslane, but did not influence growth of the other vegetables. Phosphate decreased Cd uptake by vegetables by 12% 23%. Compared with lime, phosphate decreased, to a smaller extent, the bioavailability of Cd in most cases. Phosphate markedly promoted growth of vegetables. Changes in soil chemistry by adding lime or phosphate did not markedly influence nutrient uptake of vegetables except that lime increased Ca content and phosphate increased P content in shoots of the vegetables. The results suggested that a proper application of lime could be effective in reducing Cd uptake of vegetables, and phosphate could promote growth of the vegetables as well as alleviate the toxicity of Cd.

An accurate period is important to recover the pulse profile from a recorded photon event series of an X-ray pulsar and to estimate the pulse time of arrival,which is the measurement of X-ray pulsar *** folding is a classical period estimation method in the time domain;however,its computational complexity grows as the number of trail periods *** order to reduce the computational complexity,this paper improves the fast folding algorithm through segment correlation and amplitude accumulation,which is based on the post-order traversal of a binary *** with epoch folding,the improved fast folding algorithm can achieve a similar accuracy at the cost of a lower computational *** with the original fast folding algorithm,the improved algorithm can be applied to detectors with a much smaller effective *** performance of the method is investigated by simulation data and observation data from the Neutron star Interior Composition Explorer(NICER).

Alreration of nuclear matrix-intermediate filament system and differential expression of nuclear matrix proteins during human hepatocarcinoma cell differentiation

AIM： To investigate the association between the configurational and compositional changes of nuclear matrix and the differentiation of carcinoma cells. METHODS： Cells cultured with or without 5 × 10^-3 mmol/L of hexamethylene bisacetamide （HMBA） on Nickel grids were treated by selective extraction and prepared for whole mount observation under electron microscopy. The samples were examined under transmission electron microscope. Nuclear matrix proteins were selectively extracted and subjected to subcellular proteomics study. The protein expression patterns were analyzed by PDQuest software. Spots of differentially expressed nuclear matrix proteins were excised and subjected to in situ digestion with trypsin. The peptides were analyzed by matrix-assisted laser- desorption/ionization time of flight mass spectrometry （MALDI-TOF-MS）. Data were submitted for database searching using Mascot tool （***）. RESULTS： The nuclear matrix （NM） and intermediate filament （IF） in SMMC-7721 hepatocarcinoma cells were found relatively sparse and arranged irregularly. The nuclear lamina was non-uniform, and two kinds of filaments were not tightly connected. After induction for differentiation by HMBA, the NM-IF filaments were concentrated and distributed uniformly. The heterogeneous population of filaments, including highly branched utrathin filaments could also be seen in the regular meshwork. The connection between the two kinds of filaments and the relatively thin, condensed and sharply demarcated lamina composed of intermediate- sized filaments was relatively fastened. Meanwhile, 21 NM proteins changed remarkably during SMMC-7721 cell differentiation. Four proteins, i.e. mutant Pystl, hypothetical protein, nucleophosminl, and LBP were downregulated, whereas four other proteins, eIF6, p44 subunit, 13-tubulin, and SIN3B were upregulated with the last one, SR2/ASF found only in the differentiated SMMC-7721 cells. Recharge processes limit the resource elements of Qarhan Salt Lake in western China and analogues in the evaporite basins

The Qarhan Salt Lake(QSL)in western China is K-Sr-li-B-Br-Rb multi-resource coexisting Quaternary brine *** research efforts have been directed to the origin of K-li resources and evolutionary history of the ***,the study on the different sources,recharge processes,and differential distribution patterns for these resource elements in brine deposits is still ***,we measured li-B concentrations and H-O-Sr-B isotopic compositions of different waters(river,spring,and brine)from the QSL,combined with the reported K-Sr contents and multiple isotopes of waters,to discuss the recharge,source of K-Sr-li-B and their spatial distributions,by analogy with other evaporite basins in the *** results show that:(1)the K-li-B-Sr elemental concentrations of brines and their spatial distribution in the QSL are diverse;(2)high K and Sr values are distributed in Dabuxun and Qarhan sections,respectively,which are controlled by Ca-Cl springs in the northern QSL;on the contrary,li and B values are enriched in the Bieletan section and are charged by thermal springs in the Kunlun Mountains;(3)the formation and evolution of Ca-Cl and thermal springs constrain fundamentally on the recharge processes of K-Sr and li-B elements in the terminal salt lakes of the Qaidam Basin(QB);(4)some analogues of recharge processes limit the resource elements of the QSL and other salt lakes(Da Qaidam,Lop Nur,Zhabuye,Atacama,and Guayatayoc)in the world provides a reference for the resource exploration in deep formation waters in the evaporite basins.

Adult neural stem cell dysfunction in the subventricular zone of the lateral ventricle leads to diabetic olfactory defects

Sensitive smell discrimination is based on structural plasticity of the olfactory bulb,which depends on migration and integration of newborn neurons from the subventricular *** this study,we examined the relationship between neural stem cell status in the subventricular zone and olfactory function in rats with diabetes *** was injected through the femoral vein to induce type 1 diabetes mellitus in Sprague-Dawley *** months after injection,olfactory sensitivity was decreased in diabetic ***,the number of Brd U-positive and Brd U＋/DCX＋double-labeled cells was lower in the subventricular zone of diabetic rats compared with agematched normal *** blot results revealed downregulated expression of insulin receptorβ,phosphorylated glycogen synthase kinase 3β,and β-catenin in the subventricular zone of diabetic ***,these results indicate that diabetes mellitus causes insulin deficiency,which negatively regulates glycogen synthase kinase 3β and enhances β-catenin degradation,with these changes inhibiting neural stem cell ***,these signaling pathways affect proliferation and differentiation of neural stem cells in the subventricular *** of subventricular zone neural stem cells causes a decline in olfactory bulb structural plasticity and impairs olfactory sensitivity in diabetic rats.
