A Study on Clinical Characteristics and Magnetic Resonance Imaging Manifestations on Systemic Rosai-Dorfman Disease

Background： Rosai-Dorfman disease （RDD） is typically characterized by painless bilateral and symmetrical cervical lymphadenopathy, with associated fever and leukocytosis. The aim of the current study was to summarize the clinical features and imaging characteristics of RDD, in an effort to improve its diagnostic accuracy. Methods： The study was analyzed from 32 patients between January 2011 and December 2017; of these, 16 patients had pathologically diagnosed RDD, eight had pathologically diagnosed meningioma, and eight pathologically diagnosed lymphoma. All patients underwent computed tomography and magnetic resonance imaging （MRI）. Clinical features and imaging characteristics of RDD were analyzed retrospectively. The mean apparent diffusion coefficient （ADC） values of lesions at different sites were measured, and one-way analysis of variance and the least significant difference t-test were used to compare the differences between groups and draw receiver operating characteristic curves. The tumors were excised for biopsy and analyzed using immunohistochemistry. Results： The mean ADCs were （0.81 ± 0.10） × 10^-3mm^2/s for intercranial RDD, （0.73 ± 0.05） × 10^-3mm^2/s for nasopharyngeal RDD, （0.74 ± 0.11） × 10^-3mm2/s for bone RDD, and （0.71 ± 0.04） × 10^-3mm2/s for soft-tissue RDD. The optimum ADC to distinguish intracranial RDD from lymphoma was 0.79 × 10^-3mm2/s （62.5% sensitivity and 100% specificity） and to distinguish meningioma from intracranial RDD was 0.92 × 10^-3mm^2/s （62.5% sensitivity and 100% specificity）. Levels of C-reactive protein, erythrocyte sediment rate and D-dimer were significantly elevated （81%, 87%, and 75%, respectively）. On immunohistochemistry, RDD was positive for both S-100 and CD68 proteins but negative for CD1a. Conclusions： Conventional MRI, combined with diffusion-weighted imaging and ADC mapping, is an important diagnostic tool in evaluating RDD patients. Magnetic emission intensity enhancement for amorphous alloys by constructing a multi-phase structure withα-Fe nanocrystals

The perturbation in the magnetic field generated by the rotation or oscillation of magnetic domains in magnetic materials can emit low-frequency electromagnetic waves,which are expected to be used in low-frequency ***,the magnetic emission intensity,defined by the perturbation ability,of current commercially applied amorphous alloys,such as Metglas,cannot meet the application requirements for low-frequency antennas due to the domain motion energy ***,a multi-phase Metglas amorphous alloy was constructed by incorporatingα-Fe nanocrystals using rapid annealing to manipulate the domain *** was found that 3.89 times higher magnetic emission intensity is obtained compared to the pristine due to the synergism of the deformation and displacement ***,the low-frequency magnetic emission performance verification was carried out by preparing magnetoelectric composites as the antenna vibrator by assembling the alloy and macro piezoelectric fiber composites(MFC).Enhancements of magnetic emission intensity are found at 93.3%and 49.2%at the first and second harmonic frequencies compared with the unmodified alloy ***,the approach leads to the development of high-performance communication with a novel standard for evaluation.

The topological pumping has been instrumental in advancing our understanding of topological phase transitions in various physical systems,which can be extended to uncover intriguing higher-order topological phases in the lower-dimensional ***,we propose a theoretical exploration of topological dipole pumping on an acoustic square superlattice by cyclically modulating intracell couplings,which shares the topological nature of an extended three-dimensional system with chiral hinge *** the multipole chiral numbers,we characterize the higher-order topological phases that arise during the *** evolution of topological phase transitions is verified by numerical simulations and shows corner states are transferred across the *** findings can inspire the construction of chiral hinge states in artificial crystals,opening up new possibilities for the design of devices allowing the unidirectional propagation of sound.

Reconfigurable intelligent surfaces(RISs)have aroused extensive attentions from academic and wireless communication communities due to their abilities to customize the electromagnetic(EM)characteristics of the propagation channels flexibly and *** advances in theoretical innovations and prototype systems have demonstrated the advantages of RISs in terms of low cost,low power consumption,and easy ***,the optically transparent RISs are demanded in some application *** this paper,we propose a 2-bit metalmesh-based RIS with high *** analyzing the surface current distributions on the element,we employ the metalmesh-grid patterns and metalmesh-stripe patterns on the top and ground layers *** metalmesh patterns can help improve the optical transparency of RISs,while maintaining similar microwave *** RIS can reach the optical transparency of 79%,and the reflection amplitude is greater than3.2 dB within the operating ***,to verify the capability of the proposed RIS in wavefront controls,the far-field scattering patterns of the RIS with different coding sequences are investigated and the simulation results are in good agreement with the theoretical results.

Advancing electrochemical drilling process via coupling of flow field and electric field in pulsating state generated by a novel tube tool

This paper introduces an improvement to electrochemical drilling process by coupling flow field and electric field in pulsating state. A novel tube with half-wedged shape at the end(HW-tube) is prepared, with both sidewall and wedged part of the HW-tube insulated. Only the flat part is utilized to provide electric field for electrochemical drilling. By rotating the HW-tube, both flow field and electric field in pulsating state are generated, alternating in different positions within the inter-electrode gap(IEG). The pulsating flow field enhances the mass transfer process, while pulsating electric field disperses material dissolution process and distribution of electrolytic byproducts. Both pulsating fields are coupled at the same frequency, further enhancing the electrochemical drilling process. Simulation results indicate that both flow field and electric field in pulsating state are generated. Compared to the traditional tube, the HW-tube significantly reduces the number of residual particles in IEG, and this number is further reduced by increasing the rotation speed. Experimental results reveal that the surface quality and dimensional uniformity of small hole are improved with HW-tube. With feed rate of 2.22 mm/min, a small hole with diameter of 1.52± 0.017 mm is drilled, resulting in a surface roughness of 0.331 μm.

Multimorbidity and mortality among older patients with coronary heart disease in Shenzhen,China

BACKGROUND The current understanding of the magnitude and consequences of multimorbidity in Chinese older adults with coronary heart disease(CHD)is *** aimed to assess the association and population-attributable fractions(PAFs)between multimorbidity and mortality among hospitalized older patients who were diagnosed with CHD in Shenzhen,*** We conducted a retrospective cohort study of older Chinese patients(aged≥65 years)who were diagnosed with *** proportional hazards models were used to estimate the associations between multimorbidity and all-cause and cardiovascular disease(CVD)*** also calculated the *** The study comprised 76,455 older hospitalized patients who were diagnosed with CHD between January 1,2016,and August 31,*** them,70,217(91.9%)had multimorbidity,defined as the presence of at least one of the predefined 14 chronic *** with cancer,hemorrhagic stroke and chronic liver disease had the worst overall death risk,with adjusted HRs(95%CIs)of 4.05(3.77,4.38),2.22(1.94,2.53),and 1.85(1.63,2.11),*** CVD mortality,the highest risk was observed for hemorrhagic stroke,ischemic stroke,and chronic kidney disease;the corresponding adjusted HRs(95%CIs)were 3.24(2.77,3.79),1.91(1.79,2.04),and 1.81(1.64,1.99),***-cause mortality was mostly attributable to cancer,heart failure and ischemic stroke,with PAFs of 11.8,10.2,and 9.1,*** for CVD mortality,the leading PAFs were heart failure,ischemic stroke and diabetes;the corresponding PAFs were 18.0,15.7,and 6.1,*** Multimorbidity was common and had a significant impact on mortality among older patients with CHD in Shenzhen,***,heart failure,ischemic stroke and diabetes are the primary contributors to ***,prioritizing improved treatment and management of these comorbidities is essential for the survival prognosis of CHD patients from a holistic public health perspective.

Thermally conductive polymer nanocomposites integrated with lightweight,excellent flexural strength,and high fracture toughness(KIc)would be of great use in many ***,achieving all of these properties simultaneously remains a great *** by natural nacre,here we demonstrate a lightweight,strong,tough,and thermally conductive boron nitride nanosheet/epoxy layered(BNNEL)*** of the layered structure and enhancing the interfacial interactions through hydrogen bonding and Si–O–B covalent bonding,the resulting nacre-inspired BNNEL nanocomposites show high fracture toughness of~4.22 MPa·m^(1/2),which is 7 folds as high as pure ***,the BNNEL nanocomposites demonstrate sufficient flexural strength(~168.90 MPa,comparable to epoxy resin),while also being lightweight(~1.23 g/cm^(3)).Additionally,the BNNEL nanocomposites display a thermal conductivity(κ)of~0.47 W/(m·K)at low boron nitride nanosheet loading of 2.08 vol.%,which is 2.7 times higher than that of pure epoxy *** developed nacre-inspired strategy of layered structure design and interfacial enhancement provides an avenue for fabricating high mechanical properties and thermally conductive polymer nanocomposites.

Room-temperature ferrimagnetism and size-modulated electronic structures in two-dimensional cluster-based metal-organic frameworks

Cluster-assembled materials have attracted particular attention for their complex hierarchical structures and unique ***,the majority of cluster-based assemblies developed so far are either non-magnetic or only exhibit magnetic ordering with a relatively low Curie temperature,limiting their applications in ***,two-dimensional(2D)cluster-assembled materials with room-temperature magnetism remain highly *** this purpose,based on first principles calculations,we design a series of thermodynamically stable 2D cluster-based metal-organic frameworks(MOFs)Fe_(n)-(pyz)(n=1-6)by utilizing Fenmetal clusters as nodes and nitrogen-containing pyrazine ligands as organic *** 2D cluster-based MOFs exhibit robust ferrimagnetic ordering due to the strong d-p direct exchange interaction between d-electron spin of Fe_(n)(n=1-6)clusters and charge transfer-induced p-electron spin of pyrazine *** particular,the ferrimagnetic Curie temperatures are well above room temperature(up to 836 K).Additionally,altering the size of Fe_(n)clusters in Fe_(n)-(pyz)(n=1-6)MOFs results in diverse functional spintronic properties,including bipolar magnetic semiconductors,half semiconductors and Dirac half ***,these 2D assembled MOFs possess sizable magnetic anisotropy energies,up to 9.16 me V per formula.

Human epidermal growth factor receptor 2(HER2)-positive breast cancer(BC)has been the most challenging subtype of BC,consisting of 20%of BC with an apparent correlation with poor *** that pyrotinib,a new HER2 inhibitor,has led to dramatic improvements in prognosis,the efficacy of pyrotinib monotherapy remains largely restricted due to its acquired ***,identifying a new potential antitumor drug in combination with pyrotinib to amplify therapeutic efficacy is a pressing ***,we reported a novel combination of pyrotinib with chrysin and explored its antitumor efficacy and the underlying mechanism in HER2-positive *** determined that pyrotinib combined with chrysin yielded a potent synergistic effect to induce more evident cell cycle arrest,inhibit the proliferation of BT-474 and SK-BR-3 BC cells,and repress in vivo tumor growth in xenograft mice *** may be attributed to enhanced autophagy induced by endoplasmic reticulum ***,the combined treatment of pyrotinib and chrysin induced ubiquitination and glucose-6-phosphate dehydrogenase(G6PD)degradation by upregulating zinc finger and BTB/POZ domain-containing family protein 16(ZBTB16)in tumorigenesis of ***,we identified that miR-16-5p was a potential upstream regulator of ZBTB16,and it showed a significant inverse correlation with *** of miR-16-5p overexpression by restoring ZBTB16 significantly potentiated the overall antitumor efficacy of pyrotinib combined with chrysin against HER2-positive ***,these findings demonstrate that the combined treatment of pyrotinib and chrysin enhances autophagy in HER2-positive BC through an unrecognized miR-16-5p/ZBTB16/G6PD axis.

Background Moyamoya disease(MMD)is a cerebrovascular disorder characterized by progressive unilateral or bilateral stenosis of the distal internal carotid *** hemodynamic features in MMD patients alter,the comorbidity of intracranial aneurysm(IA)is sometimes observed *** aim to investigate clinical characteristics and therapeutic strategies for the comorbidity of Moyamoya disease with intracranial aneurysms(MMD-IA).Methods A total of 13 MMD-IA patients were recruited in this study and were manifested to be intracranial *** reviewed the surgical technique notes for all *** According to the locations of an aneurysm,MMD-IA could be divided into several categories:(1)MMD-IA at a circle of Willis—aneurysms usually located at the trunk of Willis circle;(2)MMD-IA at collateral anastomosis—aneurysms located at the distal end of collateral anastomosis;and(3)MMA-IA at basal ganglia *** this report,aneurysms in 10 patients located at Willis circle,2 at the pericallosal artery,and 1 at the basal ganglia *** them,endovascular embolism was performed among 5 *** clipping was conducted among 7 patients.A patient with an aneurysm at the basal ganglia region just accepted revascularization *** the treatments were ***-up studies,ranging from 6 to 24 months,demonstrated all patients received satisfactory curative *** Diverse clinical presentations could be observed among MMD-IA *** neurosurgical treatments should be chosen according to the locations of the aneurysm.
