BACKGROUND Intractable postherpetic neuralgia(PHN)can be difficult to manage even with aggressive multimodal *** who experience uncontrolled refractory cranial PHN despite conservative treatment may benefit from an intrathecal drug delivery system(IDDS).For craniofacial neuropathic pain,the traditional approach has been to place the intrathecal catheter tip below the level of the cranial nerve root entry zones,which may lead to insufficient *** SUMMARY We describe a 69-year-old man with a 1-year history of PHN after developing a vesicular rash in the ophthalmic division of cranial nerve V(trigeminal nerve)*** pain was rated 7-8 at rest and 9-10 at breakthrough pain(BTP)on a numeric rating *** receiving aggressive multimodal therapies including large doses of oral analgesics(gabapentin 150 mg q12 h,oxycodone 5 mg/acetaminophen 325 mg q6 h,and lidocaine 5%patch 700 mg q12 h)and sphenopalatine ganglion block,there was no relief of ***,the patient elected to have an implantable IDDS with the catheter tip placed at the interpeduncular *** frequency of BTP episodes *** patient’s continuous daily dose was adjusted to 0.032 mg/d after 3 mo of follow-up and stopped 5 mo *** did not report pain or other discomfort at outpatient follow-up 6 mo and 1 year after stopping intracisternal *** The use of interpeduncular cistern intrathecal infusion with low-dose hydromorphone by IDDS may be effective for severe craniofacial PHN.

OBJECTIVE: To explore the material basis of the difference of efficacy of Dahuang(Radix Et Rhizoma Rhei Palmati)-Taoren(Semen Persicae)(DT) drugs with different proportions. METHODS: Samples of different ratios of Dahuang(Radix et Rhizoma Rhei Palnati, DH) to Taoren(Semen Persicae, TR)(Group A 1∶1, B 2∶3, C 3∶2) were analyzed based on gas chromatography time-of-flight mass spectrometry untargeted metabolomics technique. RESULTS: A total of 240 primary metabolites were detected. Forty-one differential metabolites involved nine differential metabolic pathways, of which four were closely related to the efficacy of DT in the treatment of heat and blood stasis syndrome. These pathways included the biosynthesis of amino acid(phenylalanine tyrosine and tryptophan), flavonoids, unsaturated fatty acids, and the glycolysis/glycogenesis pathway. CONCLUSION: There are significant differences in the efficacy of different ratios of DT drugs, and their optimal ratio for the treatment of heat and blood stasis syndrome should be 1∶1.

A significant obstacle in intelligent transportation systems(ITS)is the capacity to predict traffic *** advancements in deep neural networks have enabled the development of models to represent traffic flow ***,accurately predicting traffic flow at the individual road level is extremely difficult due to the complex interplay of spatial and temporal *** paper proposes a technique for predicting short-term traffic flow data using an architecture that utilizes convolutional bidirectional long short-term memory(Conv-BiLSTM)with attention *** studies neglected to include data pertaining to factors such as holidays,weather conditions,and vehicle types,which are interconnected and significantly impact the accuracy of forecast *** addition,this research incorporates recurring monthly periodic pattern data that significantly enhances the accuracy of forecast *** experimental findings demonstrate a performance improvement of 21.68%when incorporating the vehicle type feature.

In the process of photocatalytic water cracking,the migration rate and utilization rate of photogenerated charges determine the hydrogen evolution performance of the *** this paper,a carbon isotope superconducting material graphdiyne(GDY)is prepared by mechanical ball milling and introduced into the S-scheme heterojunction Zn_(0.5)Co_(0.5)S/MoS_(2)inorganic *** terms of hydrogen evolution kinetics,GDY acts as an electron bridge,not only accelerating the migration of photogenerated carriers but also improving the utilization of photogenerated ***,the large twodimensional layer provides more loading and anchoring points for Zn_(0.5)Co_(0.5)S/MoS_(2),which increases the number of active *** ternary composite catalyst 20%GDY/Zn_(0.5)Co_(0.5)S/MoS_(2)(20-GCSM)generates 69.94μmol of hydrogen(5 h)in triethanolamine *** is 2.97 and1.80 times higher than Zn_(0.5)Co_(0.5)S and Zn_(0.5)Co_(0.5)S/MoS_(2),*** the cyclic experiment,it still has stable hydrogen evolution performance after standing for24 h(under dark conditions).In addition,the potential mechanism of photocatalytic hydrogen evolution is demonstrated through in-situ X-ray photoelectron *** work provides a reference for further research in the field of introducing carbon materials into photocatalytic systems and improving the utilization of photogenerated charges.

The interpenetrating polymer network(IPN) silicone hydrogels with improved oxygen permeability and mechanical strength were prepared by UV-initiated polymerization of monomers including methacryloxypropyl tris(trimethylsiloxy)silane(TRIS),2-hydroxyethylmethacrylate(HEMA) and N-vinyl pyrrolidone(NVP) in the presence of free radical photoinitiator and cationic *** polymerization mechanism was investigated by the formation of gel *** structure of IPN hydrogels was characterized by Fourier transform infrared spectroscopy(FTIR), differential scanning calorimetry(DSC) and transmission electron microscopy(TEM).The results showed that the IPN hydrogels exhibited a heterogeneous *** mechanical properties,surface wettability and oxygen permeability were examined by using a tensile tester,a contact angle goniometer and an oxygen transmission tester,*** equilibrium water content of the hydrogels was measured by the gravimetric *** results revealed that the IPN hydrogels possessed hydrophilic surface and high water *** exhibited improved oxygen permeability and mechanical strength because of the incorporation of TRIS.

Analog spatiotemporal feature extraction for cognitive radio-frequency sensing with integrated photonics

Analog feature extraction(AFE)is an appealing strategy for low-latency and efficient cognitive sensing systems since key features are much sparser than the Nyquist-sampled ***,applying AFE to broadband radio-frequency(RF)scenarios is challenging due to the bandwidth and programmability bottlenecks of analog electronic ***,we introduce a photonics-based scheme that extracts spatiotemporal features from broadband RF signals in the analog *** feature extractor structure inspired by convolutional neural networks is implemented on integrated photonic circuits to process RF signals from multiple antennas,extracting valid features from both temporal and spatial *** of the tunability of the photonic devices,the photonic spatiotemporal feature extractor is trainable,which enhances the validity of the extracted ***,a digital-analog-hybrid transfer learning method is proposed for the effective and low-cost training of the photonic feature *** validate our scheme,we demonstrate a radar target recognition task with a 4-GHz instantaneous *** results indicate that the photonic analog feature extractor tackles broadband RF signals and reduces the sampling rate of analog-to-digital converters to 1/4 of the Nyquist sampling while maintaining a high target recognition accuracy of 97.5%.Our scheme offers a promising path for exploiting the AFE strategy in the realm of cognitive RF sensing,with the potential to contribute to the efficient signal processing involved in applications such as autonomous driving,robotics,and smart factories.
