The study of the polaron of an open quantum system plays an important role in verifying the effectiveness of an approximate many-body theory and predicting novel quantum phenomena in open quantum systems. In a pioneering work, Piazza et al.(2021) proposed a Fermi-polaron scheme with a lossy impurity, which exhibits a novel long-lived attractive polaron branch in the quantum Zeno limit. However, we have encountered a counterpart problem in which an impurity interacting with an open quantum bath scatters exciting polarons, which is what we focus on. In this work, we determine through analytical research the molecular state under the two limits of vanishingly small and infinitely large dissipation intensities as well as the reason why the dissipation range leads to a decrease in the gap between the molecular state and the molecule-hole continuum in the former case.The spectrum functions of molecular and polaron states with different dissipation ranges and loss rates are investigated. We find the spectral signals of molecular and polaron states will first diffuse and then revive as the dissipation increases. Moreover, we show that the attractive and repulsive polarons respond differently to an increasing dissipation range in our model. Finally, we exhibit the polaron energy, residue, effective mass, and two-body decay for mass-balanced and imbalanced systems. Our results might be useful for cold-atom experiments on open quantum systems.

The significant wave height(SWH)is one of the main parameters that describe wave characteristics and is widely used in wave research fields.Wave parameters measured by radar are influenced by the offshore distance and sea state.Validation and calibration are of great significance for radar data applications.The nadir beam of surface wave investigation and monitoring(SWIM)detects the global-ocean-surface SWH.To determine the product quality of SWIM SWH,this paper carried out time-space matching between SWIM and buoy data.The data qualities were evaluated under different offshore distances and sea states.An improved calibration method was proposed based on sea state segmentation,which considered the distribution of the point collocation numbers in various sea states.The results indicate that(1)the SWIM SWH accuracy at offshore distances greater than 50 km is higher than that at distances less than 50 km,with an root mean squared error(RMSE)of 0.2444 m,scatter index(SI)of 0.1156 and relative error(RE)of 9.97%at distances greater than 50 km and those of 0.4460 m,0.2230 and18.66%at distances less than 50 km.(2)SWIM SWH qualities are better in moderate and rough sea states with RMSEs of 0.2848 m and 0.3169 m but are worse in slight and very rough sea states.(3)The effect of the improved calibration method is superior to the traditional method in each sea state and overall data,and the RMSE of SWIM SWH is reduced from the raw 0.3135 m to 0.2859 m by the traditional method and 0.1982 m by the improved method.The influence of spatiotemporal window selection on data quality evaluation was analyzed in this paper.This paper provides references for SWIM SWH product applications.

Alzheimer’s disease(AD)is the most common type of dementia.Almost two-thirds of patients with AD are female.The reason for the higher susceptibility to AD onset in women is unclear.However,hormone changes during the menopausal transition are known to be associated with AD.Most recently,we reported that follicle-stimulating hormone(FSH)promotes AD pathology and enhances cognitive dysfunctions via activating the CCAAT-enhancer-binding protein(C/EBPβ)/asparagine endopeptidase(AEP)pathway.This review summarizes our current understanding of the crucial role of the C/EBPβ/AEP pathway in driving AD pathogenesis by cleaving multiple critical AD players,including APP and Tau,explaining the roles and the mechanisms of FSH in increasing the susceptibility to AD in postmenopausal females.The FSH-C/EBPβ/AEP pathway may serve as a novel therapeutic target for the treatment of AD.

Two-dimensional Modeling of the Tearing-mode-governed Magnetic Reconnection in the Large-scale Current Sheet above the Two-ribbon Flare

We attempt to model magnetic reconnection during the two-ribbon flare in a gravitationally stratified solar atmosphere with the Lundquist number of S=10~6 using 2 D simulations.We found that the tearing mode instability leads to inhomogeneous turbulence inside the reconnecting current sheet(CS)and invokes the fast phase of reconnection.Fast reconnection brings an extra dissipation of magnetic field which enhances the reconnection rate in an apparent way.The energy spectrum in the CS shows a power law pattern and the dynamics of plasmoids govern the associated spectral index.We noticed that the energy dissipation occurs at a scale l_(ko)of 100-200 km,and the associated CS thickness ranges from 1500 to 2500 km,which follows the Taylor scale l_(T)=l_(ko)S_(1/6).The termination shock(TS)appears in the turbulent region above flare loops,which is an important contributor to heating flare loops.Substantial magnetic energy is converted into both kinetic and thermal energies via TS,and the cumulative heating rate is greater than the rate of the kinetic energy transfer.In addition,the turbulence is somehow amplified by TS,in which the amplitude is related to the local geometry of the TS.

Arsenic biotransformation in industrial wastewater treatment residue: Effect of co-existing Shewanella sp.ANA-3 and MR-1

Shewanella sp. ANA-3 with the respiratory arsenate reductase(ArrAB) and MR-1 with ferric reduction ability always coexist in the presence of high arsenic(As)-containing waste residue. However, their synergistic impacts on As transformation and mobility remain unclear. To identify which bacterium, ANA-3 or MR-1, dominates As mobility in the coexisting environment, we explored the As biotransformation in the industrial waste residue in the presence of Shewanella sp. ANA-3 and MR-1. The incubation results show that As(Ⅲ)was the main soluble species, and strain ANA-3 dominated As mobilization. The impact of ANA-3 was weakened by MR-1, probably due to the survival competition between these two bacteria. The results of micro X-ray fluorescence and X-ray photoelectron spectroscopy analyses further reveal the pathway for ANA-3 to enhance As mobility. Strain ANA-3 almost reduced 100% surface-bound Fe(Ⅲ), and consequently led to As(V) release. The dissolved As(V) was then reduced to As(Ⅲ) by ANA-3. The results of this study help to understand the fate of arsenic in the subsurface and highlight the importance of the safe disposal of high As-containing industrial waste.

Ecological security pattern-based simulation for land use structure change:a case study in Ezhou City,China

The ecological environment quality is an important constraint and an optimization objective for land resource allocation.Integrating ecological service value(ESV)accounting and ecological security pattern(ESP)delineation,and combining with the land use structure of 2004/2010/2016 in Ezhou City,this research laid out the urban ESP based on ESV with Net Primary Productivity(NPP),and made it as the main influence factor to simulate land use structure in 2022.The results indicated that:1)The water body has the biggest contribution to ESV,while the construction land has the minimum;2)91 ecological corridors are extracted,of which 28 were important ecological corridors;there were 36 ecological nodes extracted,including 17 important nodes;3)According to ESV,Ezhou City was divided into four security zones.The area of ecological restoration zone was the largest,and human activity core zone area was the smallest;4)In the no ESP protection scenarios and ESP protection scenarios separately,the net increase area of construction land is from 868.5 hm^(2) to 52.74 hm^(2) in the ecological core protection area;the construction land in the human activity core area has been increased by 2342.31 hm^(2) in protected scene,766.23 hm^(2) more than that of the unprotected scene.The results show that the division of security zones promoted the relocation of construction land from ecological protection core zone to human activity core zone,which can protect the ecological environment effectively,and the ESP-based simulation can provide the decision-making reference to coordinate the relationship of regional land resource allocation and the ecological environment protection.

OBJECTIVE:To evaluate the effect of needling Baihui(GV20),Neiguan(PC6),Shenmen(HT7) and Taichong(LR3) on cerebral cortical blood oxygen level in rats with insomnia identified as liver-Qi stagnation pattern in terms of Traditional Chinese Medicine.METHODS:Sixty Wistar rats were randomly divided into blank group(n = 10),the rest of the rats were clamped tail as stimulation combined with injected intraperitoneally p-chlorophenylalanine(PCPA) to establish sleep deprivation model.After the successful replication of the model,they were randomly divided into model group,grabbing group,Western Medicine group,acupuncture group and sham acupuncture group,with 10 rats in each group.The model group was given normal saline;The grasping group was grasped in the same way as the two treatment groups;Western medicine group was given estazolam solution;The acupuncture group was treated with the acupuncture method of "soothing the liver Qi and regulating mind" needling Baihui(GV20),Neiguan(PC6),Shenmen(HT7) and Taichong(LR3);The sham acupuncture group were needled with four nonacupoint sites.After 7 d of treatment of rats in each group,sodium pentobarbital sleep experiment was used to evaluate the sleep latency(SL) and sleep time(ST).The percentage of rats entering the open arm(OE%) and the percentage of time entering the open arm(OT%) in each group were monitored by elevated cross maze,and the vertical score,horizontal crossing times,central grid score and modification times were monitored by open field test,functional near infrared spectroscopy(f NIRs) was used to monitor the changes of oxygenated hemoglobin(Oxy-Hb),deoxyhemoglobin(Deoxy-Hb) and total hemoglobin(Total-Hb) in the cerebral cortex of rats in each group under light stimulation and dark stimulation,the statistically significant channel combinations were selected from 8 light sources and 12 detectors(S-D).According to the position of the light source detector covering the cerebral cortex,Preliminarily determine the key brain areas of insomnia(the preliminary experiment

Accurate Reliability Analysis Methods for Approximate Computing Circuits

In recent years,Approximate Computing Circuits(ACCs)have been widely used in applications with intrinsic tolerance to errors.With the increased availability of approximate computing circuit approaches,reliability analysis methods for assessing their fault vulnerability have become highly necessary.In this study,two accurate reliability evaluation methods for approximate computing circuits are proposed.The reliability of approximate computing circuits is calculated on the basis of the iterative Probabilistic Transfer Matrix(PTM)model.During the calculation,the correlation coefficients are derived and combined to deal with the correlation problem caused by fanout reconvergence.The accuracy and scalability of the two methods are verified using three sets of approximate computing circuit instances and more circuits in Evo Approx8 b,which is an approximate computing circuit open source library.Experimental results show that relative to the Monte Carlo simulation,the two methods achieve average error rates of 0.46%and 1.29%and time overheads of 0.002%and 0.1%.Different from the existing approaches to reliability estimation for approximate computing circuits based on the original PTM model,the proposed methods reduce the space overheads by nearly 50%and achieve time overheads of 1.78%and 2.19%.

Background:Changes in white matter(WM)underlie the neurocognitive damages induced by a human immunodeficiency virus(HIV)infection.This study aimed to examine using a bundle-associated fixel-based analysis(FBA)pipeline for investigating the microstructural and macrostructural alterations in the WM of the brain of HIV patients.Methods:This study collected 93 HIV infected patients and 45 age/education/handedness matched healthy controls(HCs)at the Beijing Youan Hospital between January 1,2016 and December 30,2016.All HIV patients underwent neurocognitive evaluation and laboratory testing followed by magnetic resonance imaging(MRI)scanning.In order to detect the bundle-wise WM abnormalities accurately,a specific WM bundle template with 56 tracts of interest was firstly generated by an automated fiber clustering method using a subset of subjects.Fixel-based analysis was used to investigate bundle-wise differences between HIV patients and HCs in three perspectives:fiber density(FD),fiber cross-section(FC),and fiber density and cross-section(FDC).The between-group differences were detected by a two-sample t-test with the false discovery rate(FDR)correction(Pyed decreased FD and increased FC covarying patterns
