Clinical value of oral contrast-enhanced ultrasonography in diagnosis of gastric tumors

BACKgROUND The incidence of gastric cancer remains high,and it is the sixth most common cancer and the fourth leading cause of cancer deaths *** contrastenhanced ultrasonography is a simple,non-invasive,and painless method for the diagnosis of gastric *** To explore the diagnostic value of oral contrast-enhanced ultrasonography for the detection of gastric *** The screening results based on oral contrast-enhanced ultrasonography and electronic gastroscopy were compared with those of the postoperative pathological *** Among 42 patients with gastric tumors enrolled in the study,the diagnostic accordance rate was 95.2%for oral contrast-enhanced ultrasonography(n=40)and 90.5%for electronic gastroscopy(n=38)compared with postoperative pathological *** Kappa value of consistency test with pathological findings was 0.812 for oral contrast-enhanced ultrasonography and 0.718 for electronic gastroscopy,and there was no significant difference between them(P=0.397).For the TNM staging of gastric tumors,the accuracy rate of oral contrast enhanced ultrasonography was 81.9%for the overall T staging and 50%,77.8%,100%,and 100%for T1,T2,T3,and T4 staging,*** sensitivity and specificity were both 100%for stages T3 and *** diagnostic accuracy rate of oral contrast-enhanced ultrasonography was 93.8%,80%,100%,and 100%for stages N0,N1-N3,M0,and M1,*** The accordance rate of qualitative diagnosis by oral contrast-enhanced ultrasonography is comparable to that of gastroscopy,and it could be used as the preferred method for the early screening of gastric tumors.

Tissue-resident memory T(TRM)cells infiltrating solid tumors could influence tumor progression and the response to immune ***,the proportion and prognostic value of TRM cells in the bone marrow(BM)of patients with acute myeloid leukemia(AML)are *** this study,we used flow cytometry to assay the phenotype of 49 BM samples from patients newly diagnosed with AML(ND-AML).We found that the BM CD8^(+)effector memory(TEM)cells highly expressed CD69(CD8^(+)TRM-like T cells),and their percentage was significantly increased in patients with ND-AML compared with that in healthy individuals(HI).The high percentage of CD8^(+)TRM-like subset was associated with poor overall survival in our ND-AML *** Kaplan–Meier Plotter database verified a significantly reduced survival rate among patients with high expression of CD8^(+)TRM-like T cell characteristic genes(CD8A,CD69,and TOX),especially the M4 and M5 *** analysis revealed that the BM CD8^(+)TRM-like subpopulation exhibited exhausted T cell characteristics,but its high expression of CD27 and CD28 and low expression of CD57 suggested its high proliferative *** single-cell proteogenomic dataset confirmed the existence of TRM-like CD8^(+)T cells in the BM of patients with AML and verified the high expression of immune checkpoints and costimulatory *** conclusion,we found that the accumulation of BM CD8^(+)TRM-like cells could be an immune-related survival prediction marker for patients with AML.

Selenomethionine alleviates chronic heat stress-induced breast muscle injury and poor meat quality in broilers via relieving mitochondrial dysfunction and endoplasmic reticulum stress

In the present study, the chronic heat stress (CHS) broiler model was developed to investigate the potential protection mechanism of organic selenium (selenomethionine, SeMet) on CHS-induced skeletal muscle growth retardation and poor meat quality. Four hundred Arbor Acres male broilers (680 ± 70 g, 21 d old) were grouped into 5 treatments with 8 replicates of 10 broilers per replicate. Broilers in the control group were raised in a thermoneutral environment (22 ± 2 °C) and fed with a basal diet. The other four treatments were exposed to hyperthermic conditions (33 ± 2 °C, 24 h in each day) and fed on the basal diet supplied with SeMet at 0.0, 0.2, 0.4, and 0.6 mg Se/kg, respectively, for 21 d. Results showed that CHS reduced ( P 0.05) the growth performance, decreased ( P 0.05) the breast muscle weight and impaired the meat quality of breast muscle in broilers. CHS induced protein metabolic disorder in breast muscle, which increased ( P 0.05) the expression of caspase 3, caspase 8, caspase 9 and ubiquitin proteasome system related genes, while decreased the protein expression of P-4EBP1. CHS also decreased the antioxidant capacity and induced mitochondrial stress and endoplasmic reticulum (ER) stress in breast muscle, which increased ( P 0.05) the ROS levels, decreased the concentration of ATP, increased the protein expression of HSP60 and CLPX, and increased ( P 0.05) the expression of ER stress biomarkers. Background Leprosy is a chronic infectious disease that can lead to deformities and disabilities. Better detection and early diagnosis of leprosy is a public health priority that requires attention. This study aimed to identify the cluster of leprosy symptoms with a higher risk to provide reference of leprosy *** Leprosy symptomatic surveillance was conducted in ten districts of Shenzhen from 2010 to 2023 to detect suspected leprosy cases at all public medical institutions. Data on socio-demographic characteristics, patient symptoms, and relevant test results were collected. Cluster analysis and logistic regression were *** A total of 3459 leprosy patients were notified in Shenzhen, with the prevalence of 3.87%(134/3459). Eight common symptoms of leprosy and positivity rates were identified:(NO.1) chronic skin diseases that have not been diagnosed or cured for a long time(86.9%, 3007/3459);(NO.2) local dryness or paraesthesia of the skin(12.8%, 444/3459);(NO.3) thinning eyebrows with a drunken face(7.4%,256/3459);(NO.4) swelling or nodules on the face or earlobes(4.2%, 144/3459);(NO.5) edema or nodular erythema lesion(5.4%, 188/3459);(NO.6) coarse, painful or tender nerves(2.0%, 69/3459);(NO.7) painless wounds, sores, or easy burns on the hands or feet(3.1%, 107/3459);(NO.8) the eyes are not closed, the mouth angle is skewed, the palm finger muscle is atrophied or the claw hand, foot and other visible deformities of the face, hands and feet(0.8%, 29/3459). The rate of leprosy positivity found in Cluster 1(NO.2,NO.7 and NO.8), Cluster 2(NO.1 and NO.3), and Cluster3(NO.4,NO.5and NO.6) was 3.24%, 3.93%, and 3.70% respectively. 背景钛夹辅助内镜下组织胶注射治疗胃静脉曲张(gastric varices,gV)是一种新的和简单的技术,但由于缺乏可靠的数据,其在gV治疗中的疗效尚未清楚.目的本文运用Meta分析评价钛夹辅助内镜下组织胶注射治疗gV的疗效.方法检索国内外主要数据库中钛夹辅助内镜下组织胶注射vs内镜下直接组织胶注射治疗gV的研究.主要终点是评估两者之间的再出血性和有效性,次要终点是评价死亡和异位栓塞的发生.结果本Meta共纳入16项回顾性研究,一共1700人,其中报道有分流709(42%)人,钛夹组793人.钛夹组再出血(OR=0.26,95%CI:0.19-0.35,P0.05)无差异性.结论钛夹辅助内镜下组织胶注射是gV伴/不伴分流的一种简单、安全有效的技术.进一步充分有力的随机对照实验需确认这些结果.
