High-resolution imaging through randomly dynamic scattered fields and highly scattered walls is an extensively sought-after capability with potential applications in various fields such as underwater imaging, biomedical imaging, and seeing through fog. Numerous methods have been proposed to unscramble object information from degraded scattered images, resulting in considerable improvements in image contrast in degraded scenarios [1].

We investigate Hoeffding's inequality for both discrete-time Markov chains and continuous-time Markov processes on a general state space. Our results relax the usual aperiodicity restriction in the literature, and the explicit upper bounds in the inequalities are obtained via the solution of Poisson's equation. The results are further illustrated with applications to queueing theory and reective diffusion processes.

BaTiO3/epoxy composites consisting of two three-dimensionally interpenetrating networks of BaTiO3 and epoxy phases were prepared using a new approach. The BaTiO3/epoxy composites exhibit a colossal dielectric constant, low dielectric loss and high flexural strength. In the BaTiO3 networks, chemically bonded grain boundaries between neighboring BaTiO3 grains were established, and they are responsible for the colossal dielectric constant and high flexural strength of the BaTiO3/epoxy composites. Furthermore, unlike the conventional ceramic/polymer composites, this approach also makes high loadings of BaTiO3 contents possible for the BaTiO3/epoxy composites without compromising their high flexural strength.

Evolutionary analysis of allotetraploid hybrids of red crucian carp×common carp,based on ISSR,AFLP molecular markers and cloning of cyclins genes

The allotetraploid hybrids of red crucian carp × common carp are the first reported artificially cultured polyploid fish with bisexual fertility and stable inheritance in vertebrate. Using ISSR and AFLP markers and the cyclins genes, the genomes and cyclin gene sequence changes were analyzed between the allotetraploid hybrids and their parents. The results indicated that the allotetraploids inherited many genetic characteristics from their parents and the genetic characteristics were stable after 15 generations. However, the allotetraploids had a closer genetic relationship with their original female parents and represented a bias toward the maternal progenitor. DNA fingerprinting analysis showed that the allotetraploids had undergone sequences deletion from their original parents and that the deleted sequences were mostly from the male parent's genome. Some non-parental bands were found in the allotetraploid hybrids. Sequences analysis of the cyclin A1 and B1 genes showed nonsynonymous substitutions of single nucleotides in codons that were different from their original parents, leading to non-parental amino acid loci. We speculate that the non-additivity in the allotetraploids, compared with their progenitors, could be an adjustment to the genomic shock from heterozygosity and polyploidy, allowing maintenance of genetic stability.

Ten nitrated polycyclic aromatic hydrocarbons(nPAHs)and 4 oxygenated polycyclic aromatic hydrocarbons(oPAHs)in fine particulate matter(PM2.5)samples from Mount Tai were analyzed during summer(June to August),*** the observation campaign,themean concentration of total nPAHs and oPAHs was 31.62 pg/m^(3)and 0.15 ng/m^(3),*** of the monitored compounds,namely 9-nitro-anthracene(9N-ANT)(6.86 pg/m^(3))and 9-fluorenone(9FO)(0.05 ng/m^(3))were the predominant compounds of nPAHs and oPAHs,*** potential source and long-range transportation of nPAHs and oPAHs were investigated by the positive matrix factorization(PMF)method and the potential source contribution function(PSCF)*** results revealed that biomass/coal burning,gasoline vehicle emission,diesel vehicle emission and secondary formation were the dominant sources of nPAHs and oPAHs,which were mainly from Henan province and Beijing-Tianjin-Hebei region and Bohai *** incremental life cancer risk(ILCR)values were calculated to evaluate the exposure risk of nPAHs and oPAHs for three group people(infant,children and adult),and the values of ILCR were 7.02×10^(−10),3.49×10^(−9)and 1.41×10^(−8)for infant,children and adults,*** these values were lower than the standard of EPA(Environmental Protection Agency)(<10−6),indicating acceptable health risk of nPAHs and oPAHs.

Achieving an excellent energy storage performance,together with high cycling reliability,is desirable for expanding technological applications of ferroelectric ***,in well-crystallized ferroelectric materials,the concomitant high polarizability and low polarization saturation field have led to a square-shaped polarization–electric field loop,fatally impairing both recoverable energy density(W_(rec))and efficiency(η).Nanocrystalline ferroelectric films with a macroscopically amorphous structure have shown an improved W_(rec) andη,but their much lower polarizability demands an extremely high electric field to achieve such performances,which is undesirable from an economic ***,we propose a strategy to boost the energy storage performances and stability of ferroelectric capacitors simultaneously by constructing a tri-layer film in which a well-crystallized ferroelectric layer was sandwiched by two pseudo-linear dielectric layers with a dominant amorphous *** sol–gel-derived BaTiO_(3)/(Pb,La,Ca)TiO_(3)/BaTiO_(3)(BTO/PLCT/BTO)tri-layer films,we show that the above design is realized via rapid thermal annealing which fully crystallized the middle PLCT layer while left the top/bottom BTO cap layers in a poor crystallization *** sandwiched structure is endowed with an enhanced maximum polarization while a small remnant one and a much-delayed polarization saturation,which corresponds to large W_(rec)≈80 J/cm^(3) and highη≈86%.Furthermore,the film showed an outstanding cycling stability:its W_(rec) andηremain essentially unchanged after 10^(9) electric cycles(DW/W<4%,Dη/η<2%).These good energy storage characteristics have proved the effectiveness of our proposed strategy,paving a way for the utilization of sandwiched films in applications of electric power systems and advanced pulsed-discharge devices.

Collinear Holography was proposed by OPTWARE Corporation, in which the information and reference beams were aligned co-axially and modulated by the same SLM. With this unique configuration the optical pickup can be designed as small as the DVD ′ s, and can be placed on one side of the recording disc. A 2-dimensional digital page data format was used and the shift-multiplexing method was employed to increased recording density of HVD. As the servo technology is being introduced to control the objective lens to be maintained precisely to the disc in the recording and the reconstructing process, a vibration isolator is no longer necessary. In HVD, the pre-formatted meta-data reflective layer was used for the focus/tracking servo and reading address information, and the dichroic mirror layer was used for detecting holographic recording information without interfering with the preformatted *** and theoretical studies suggest that the holographic material is very effective to increased recording density of the system. HVD will be compatible with existing disc storage systems, like CD and DVD, and enable us to expand its applications into other optical information storage systems.

Due to its lead-free composition and a unique double polarization hysteresis loop with a large maximum polarization(Pmax)and a small remnant polarization(Pr),AgNbO_(3)-based antiferroelectrics(AFEs)have attracted extensive research interest for electric energy storage ***,a low dielectric breakdown field(Eb)limits an energy density and its further *** this work,a highly efficient method was proposed to fabricate high-energy-density Ag(Nb,Ta)O_(3) capacitor films on Si substrates,using a two-step process combining radio frequency(RF)-magnetron sputtering at 450℃and post-deposition rapid thermal annealing(RTA).The RTA process at 700℃led to sufficient crystallization of nanograins in the film,hindering their lateral growth by employing short annealing time of 5 *** obtained Ag(Nb,Ta)O_(3) films showed an average grain size(D)of~14 nm(obtained by Debye-Scherrer formula)and a slender room temperature(RT)polarization-electric field(P-E)loop(Pr≈3.8 mC·cm^(−2) and P_(max)≈38 mC·cm^(−2) under an electric field of~3.3 MV·cm^(−1)),the P-E loop corresponding to a high recoverable energy density(W_(rec))of~46.4 J·cm^(−3) and an energy efficiency(η)of~80.3%.Additionally,by analyzing temperature-dependent dielectric property of the film,a significant downshift of the diffused phase transition temperature(T_(M2-M3))was revealed,which indicated the existence of a stable relaxor-like AFE phase near the *** downshift of the T_(M2-M3) could be attributed to a nanograin size and residual tensile strain of the film,and it led to excellent temperature stability(20-240℃)of the energy storage performance of the *** results indicate that the Ag(Nb,Ta)O_(3) film is a promising candidate for electrical energy storage applications.

Climate transformation to warm-humid and its effect on river runoff in the source region of the Yellow River

The change characteristics and trends of the regional climate in the source region of the Yellow River, and the response of runoff to climate change, are analyzed based on observational data of air temperature, precipitation, and runoff at 10 main hydrological and weather stations in the region. Our results show that a strong signal of climate shift from warm-dry to warm-humid in the western parts of northwestern China （Xinjiang） and the western Hexi Corridor of Gansu Province occurred in the late 1980s, and a same signal of climate change occurred in the mid-2000s in the source region of the Yellow River located in the eastern part of northwestern China. This climate changeover has led to a rapid increase in rainfall and stream runoff in the latter region. In most of the years since 2004 the average annual precipitation in the source region of the Yellow River has been greater than the long-term average annual value, and after 2007 the runoff measured at all of the hydrologic sections on the main channel of the Yellow River in the source region has also consistently exceeded the long-term average annual because of rainfall increase. It is difficult to determine the prospects of future climate change until additional observations and research are conducted on the rate and temporal and spatial extents of climate change in the region. Nevertheless, we predict that the climate shift from warm-dry to warm-humid in the source region of the Yellow River is very likely to be in the decadal time scale, which means a warming and rainy climate in the source region of the Yellow River will continue in the coming decades.

Polarization descattering imaging: a solution for nonuniform polarization characteristics of a target surface

This paper presents a polarization descattering imaging method for underwater detection in which the targets have nonuniform polarization characteristics. The core of this method takes the nonuniform distribution of the polarization information of the target-reflected light into account and expands the application field of underwater polarization *** component analysis was used to separate the target light and backscattered light. Theoretical analysis and proof-of-concept experiments were employed to demonstrate the effectiveness of the proposed method in estimating target information. The proposed method showed superiority in accurately estimating the target information compared with other polarization imaging methods.
