Overlapping infections of Mycobacterium canariasense and Nocardia farcinica in an immunocompetent patient:A case report

The rice stem borer(RSB),Chilo suppressalis,a notorious rice pest in China,has evolved a high resistance level to commonly used ***,a new anthranilic diamide insecticide,effectively controls multiple pests,including ***,the potential resistance risk of RSB to tetraniliprole is still *** this study,the tetraniliprole-selection(Tet-R)strain was obtained through 10 continuous generations of selection with tetraniliprole 30%lethal concentration(LC_(30)).The realized heritability(h^(2))of the Tet-R strain was 0.387,indicating that resistance of RSB to tetraniliprole developed rapidly under the continuous selection of *** Tet-R strain had a high fitness cost(relative fitness=0.53).We established the susceptibility baseline of RSB to tetraniliprole(lethal concentration at LC_(50)=0.727 mg/L)and investigated the resistance level of 6 field populations to *** tested strains that had resistance to chlorantraniliprole exhibited moderate-to high-level resistance to tetraniliprole(resistance ratio=27.7-806.8).Detection of ryanodine receptor(RyR)mutations showed that the Y4667C,Y4667D,I4758M,and Y4891F mutations were present in tested RSB field *** mutations were responsible for the cross-resistance between tetraniliprole and ***,the clustered regularly interspaced palindromic repeats(CRISPR)/CRISPR-associated protein 9-mediated genome-modified flies were used to study the contribution of RyR mutations to tetraniliprole *** order of contribution of a single RyR mutation to tetraniliprole resistance was Y4667D>G4915E>Y4667C~~I4758M>*** addition,the I4758M and Y4667C double mutations conferred higher tetraniliprole resistance than single Y4667C *** results can guide resistance management practices for diamides in RSB and other arthropods.

Axial load-share ratio testing to assess the healing of open tibial fractures treated with the Taylor Spatial Frame

Background:The Taylor Spatial Frame(TSF)has gained popularity among orthopedic surgeons for treating open ***,a key challenge is the timely and safe removal of the *** study assessed the efficacy and safety of axial load-share ratio(ALSR)testing to evaluate callus healing strength after TSF treatment of open tibial ***:A retrospective case-control study was conducted,analyzing 180 adult patients with open tibial fractures treated at Tianjin Hospital’s Orthopedic Limb Correction Unit between August 2019 and August *** patients underwent TSF external fixation surgery,and were divided into two groups based on ALSR *** I(92 patients)underwent ALSR testing,with frame removal if the test value fell below 5%.Traditional methods were used for fixator removal guidance in Group II(88 patients).Clinical outcomes,including fixation duration,complications after fixator removal,and Johner-Wruhs functional scores,were compared between the two ***:The groups showed no statistically significant differences(P>0.05)in sex,age,injury side,body mass index,surgery timing,or fracture *** I had a significantly shorter fixation duration(25.85±5.57 weeks)compared to Group II(31.82±6.98 weeks)(P0.05).Conclusion:Regular postoperative ALSR testing could safely and effectively guide TSF removal following open tibial fracture *** method significantly reduced fixation duration compared to traditional guidance methods while maintaining efficacy and safety.

A novel interpretable multilevel wavelet decomposition deep network for actual heartbeat classification

Arrhythmias may lead to sudden cardiac death if not detected and treated in time.A supraventricular premature beat(SPB)and premature ventricular contraction(PVC)are important categories of arrhythmia ***,deep learning methods have been applied to the PVC/SPB heartbeats ***,most researchers have focused on time-domain information of the electrocardiogram and there has been a lack of exploration of the interpretability of the *** this study,we design an interpretable and accurate PVC/SPB recognition algorithm,called the interpretable multilevel wavelet decomposition deep network(IMWDDN).Wavelet decomposition is introduced into the deep network and the squeeze and excitation(SE)-Residual block is designed for extracting time-domain and frequency-domain ***,inspired by the idea of residual learning,we construct a novel loss function for the constant updating of the multilevel wavelet decomposition ***,the IMWDDN is evaluated on the Third China Physiological Signal Challenge Dataset and the MIT-BIH Arrhythmia *** comparison results show IMWDDN has better detection performance with 98.51%accuracy and a 93.75%F1-macro on average,and its areas of concern are similar to those of an expert diagnosis to a certain ***,the IMWDDN has good application value in the clinical screening of PVC/SPB heartbeats.

Liver transplantation(LT)has become the most efficient treatment for pediatric and adult end-stage liver disease and the survival time after transplantation is becoming longer due to the development of surgical techniques and perioperative ***,long-term side-effects of immunosuppressants,like infection,metabolic disorders and malignant tumor are gaining more *** tolerance is the status in which LT recipients no longer need to take any immunosuppressants,but the liver function and intrahepatic histology maintain *** approaches to achieve immune tolerance after transplantation include spontaneous,operational and induced *** first two means require no specific intervention but withdrawing immunosuppressant gradually during *** clinical factors or biomarkers so far could accurately predict who are suitable for immunosuppressant withdraw after *** the understanding to the underlying mechanisms of immune tolerance,many strategies have been developed to induce tolerance in LT *** strategy is one of the most promising methods for immune tolerance induction,including chimerism induced by hematopoietic stem cells and adoptive transfer of regulatory immune *** safety and efficacy of various cell products have been evaluated by prospective preclinical and clinical trials,while obstacles still exist before translating into clinical ***,we will summarize the latest perspectives and concerns on the clinical application of cellular strategies in LT recipients.

Exploration on electrical resistance tomography in characterizing the slurry spatial distribution in cemented granular materials

This study investigated the application of electrical resistance tomography(ERT)in characterizing the slurry spatial distribution in cemented granular materials(CGMs).For CGM formed by self-flow grouting,the voids in the accumulation are only partially filled and the bond strength is often limited,which results in difficulty in obtaining in situ samples for quality ***,it is usually infeasible to evaluate the grouting effect or monitor the slurry spatial distribution by a mechanical *** this research,the process of grouting cement paste into high alumina ceramic beads(HACB)accumulation is reliably monitored with *** shows that ERT results can be used to calculate the cement paste volume in the HACB accumulation,based on calibrating the saturation exponent n in Archie’s *** results support the feasibility of ERT as an imaging tool in CGM characterization and may provide guidance for engineering applications in the future.

Interface Design Strategy for GNS/AZ91 Composites with Semi-Coherent Structure

The interfacial structure plays an important role in the mechanical properties of magnesium matrix composite(MMCs)reinforced with graphene nanosheet(GNS)due to their poor wettability with the Mg *** interface design strategy was proposed to form the semi-coherent interfacial structure with superior bonding *** lattice mismatch and interfacial bonding strength between Mg/rare earth oxide/carbon were utilized as key characteristics to evaluate the interfacial *** oxide(La2O3)was selected as the intermediate candidate due to its low lattice mismatch and high interfacial bonding *** identify the interfacial structure of Mg/La2O3/graphene,first-principles calculations were conducted to calculate the ideal work of separation and electronic structure of the *** demonstrated the presence of strong ionic and covalent interactions at the interface,which theoretically verified the strong interfacial bonding strength among Mg/La2O3/graphene *** experimentally validate the interface strength,MMCs with the interface structure of Mg/La2O3/GNS were *** formation of in-situ La2O3 led to the successful attainment of semi-coherent structures between Mg/La2O3 and La2O3/GNS,resulting in high strength and good ductility of the ***,this work proposes a new approach to interface design in MMCs with an enhancement of mechanical properties.

Dynamic access task scheduling of LEO constellation based on space-based distributed computing

A dynamic multi-beam resource allocation algorithm for large low Earth orbit(LEO)constellation based on on-board distributed computing is proposed in this *** allocation is a combinatorial optimization process under a series of complex constraints,which is important for enhancing the matching between resources and requirements.A complex algorithm is not available because that the LEO on-board resources is *** proposed genetic algorithm(GA)based on two-dimen-sional individual model and uncorrelated single paternal inheri-tance method is designed to support distributed computation to enhance the feasibility of on-board application.A distributed system composed of eight embedded devices is built to verify the algorithm.A typical scenario is built in the system to evalu-ate the resource allocation process,algorithm mathematical model,trigger strategy,and distributed computation *** to the simulation and measurement results,the proposed algorithm can provide an allocation result for more than 1500 tasks in 14 s and the success rate is more than 91%in a typical *** response time is decreased by 40%com-pared with the conditional GA.

Compact flame-holders for afterburners are an increasing requirement for modern aero ***,flame-holder design is non-trivial since high inlet temperatures,velocities,and elaborate structures induce complex turbulence,combustion,and spray coupling in modern *** this work,the LES-pdf and stochastic fields-Lagrangian particle spray methods are used to investigate methane and aviation kerosene combustion structures formed by new-type concave *** flow pattern,combustion mode,and flame structure of gaseous and liquid fuel around a concave flame-holder are analyzed,discussed,and compared with experimental *** reveal that the flame stability of a concave flame-holder is better than that of the non-concave ***,when using liquid fuel,the concave flame-holder forms a stable and compact *** results suggest concave flame-holders are a promising design for compact afterburners.

Investigation of the block toppling evolution of a layered model slope by centrifuge test and discrete element modeling

Primary toppling usually occurs in layered rock slopes with large anti-dip *** this paper,the block toppling evolution was explored using a large-scale centrifuge *** block column in the layered model slope was made of cement *** artificial cracks perpendicular to the block column were *** gages,displacement gages,and high-speed camera measurements were employed to monitor the deformation and failure processes of the model *** centrifuge test results show that the block toppling evolution can be divided into seven stages,*** compression,formation of major tensile crack,reverse bending of the block column,closure of major tensile crack,strong bending of the block column,formation of failure zone,and complete *** toppling is characterized by sudden large deformation and occurs in *** wedge-shaped cracks in the model incline towards the *** observations show that block toppling is mainly caused by bending failure rather than by shear *** tensile strength also plays a key factor in the evolution of block *** simulation results from discrete element method(DEM)is in line with the testing *** stress exists at the backside of rock column during toppling *** concentration results in the fragmented rock column and its degree is the most significant at the slope toe.
