Effects of magnesium and copper additions on tensile properties of Al-Si-Cr die casting alloy under as-cast and T5 conditions

Aluminum high pressure die casting(HPDC)technology has evolved in the past decades,enabling stronger and larger one-piece casting with significant part *** also offers a higher design freedom for more mass-efficient thin-walled body *** body structures that require excellent ductility and fracture toughness to be joined with steel sheet via self-piercing riveting(for instance,shock towers and hinge pillars,etc.),a costly T7 heat treatment comprising a solution heat treatment at elevated temperatures(450℃-500℃)followed by an over-ageing heat treatment is needed to optimize microstructure for meeting product *** enable cost-efficient mass production of HPDC body structures,it is important to eliminate the expensive T7 heat treatment without sacrificing mechanical *** die cast alloy chemistry is a potential solution to improve fracture toughness and ductility of the HPDC *** present study intends to tailor the Mg and Cu additions for a new Al-Si-Cr type die casting alloy(registered as A379 with The Aluminum Association,USA)to achieve the desired tensile properties without using T7 heat *** was found that Cu addition should be avoided,as it is not effective in enhancing strength while degrades tensile *** addition is very effective in improving strength and has minor impact on tensile *** investigated Al-Si-Cr alloy with a nominal composition of Al-8.5wt.%Si-0.3wt.%Cr-0.2wt.%Fe shows comparable tensile properties with the T7 treated AlSi10MnMg alloy which is currently used for manufacturing shock towers and hinge pillars.

The COVID-19 pandemic has caused severe health problems worldwide and unprecedented decimation of the global ***,after more than 2 years,many populations are still under pressure of ***,a broader perspective in developing antiviral strategies is still of great *** by the observed multiple benefits of heparin in the treatment of thrombosis,the potential of low molecular weight heparin(LMWH)for the treatment of COVID-19 have been *** applications found that LMWH decreased the level of inflammatory cytokines in COVID-19 patients,accordingly reducing ***,several in vitro studies have demonstrated the important roles of heparan sulfate in SARS-CoV-2 infection and the inhibitory effects of heparin and heparin mimetics in viral *** clinical observations and designed studies argue for the potential to develop heparin mimetics as anti-SARS-CoV-2 drug *** this review,we summarize the properties of heparin as an anticoagulant and the pharmaceutical possibilities for the treatment of virus infection,focusing on the perspectives of developing heparin mimetics via chemical synthesis,chemoenzymatic synthesis,and bioengineered production by microbial cell *** ultimate goal is to pave the eminent need for exploring novel compounds to treat coronavirus infection-caused diseases.

AIM:To detect the concentrations of reactive oxygen species(ROS),transient receptor potential mucin-1(TRPML1),and autophagy-related(Atg)proteins(LC3-Ⅰ,LC3-Ⅱ,and Beclin1)in vitreous humor of patients with simple rhegmatogenous retinal detachment(RRD).METHODS:RRD patients enrolled as the RRD group,and patients with idiopathic macular hole(IMH)and idiopathic macular epiretinal membrane(IMEM)were enrolled as control *** levels of ROS,TRPML1,LC3-Ⅰ,LC3-Ⅱ,and Beclin1 in vitreous humor of patients in the RRD and control groups were detected by enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay(EliSA).RESULTS:The RRD group included 28 eyes 28 patients and had a higher concentration of ROS in vitreous humor(631.86±18.05 vs 436.34±108.22 IU/m L,Plin1 significantly decreased in RRD(P<0.05),but there were no correlations with the RD time,RD extent,or macular ***:In eyes with RRD,the concentration of ROS in vitreous humor increases and the expression levels of Atg proteins decrease,reflecting possibly that autophagy is inhibited.

Background:Radiofrequency ablation(RFA)is one of the effective therapeutic modalities in patients with hepatocellular carcinoma(HCC).However,there is no proper method to evaluate the HCC response to *** study aimed to establish and validate a clinical prediction model based on dual-energy com-puted tomography(DECT)quantitative-imaging parameters,clinical variables,and CT texture ***:We enrolled 63 patients with small *** to four weeks after RFA,we performed DECT scanning to obtain DECT-quantitative parameters and to record the patients’clinical baseline *** images were manually segmented,and 56 CT texture features were *** used LASSO al-gorithm for feature selection and data dimensionality reduction;logistic regression analysis was used to build a clinical model with clinical variables and DECT-quantitative parameters;we then added texture features to build a clinical-texture model based on clinical ***:A total of six optimal CT texture analysis(CTTA)features were selected,which were statis-tically different between patients with or without tumor progression(Plinical vari-ables and DECT-quantitative parameters were included,the clinical models showed that albumin-bilirubin grade(ALBI)[odds ratio(OR)=2.77,95%confidence interval(CI):1.35-6.65,P=0.010],λAP(40-100 keV)(OR=3.21,95%CI:3.16-5.65,P=0.045)and IC AP(OR=1.25,95%CI:1.01-1.62,P=0.028)were asso-ciated with tumor progression,while the clinical-texture models showed that ALBI(OR=2.40,95%CI:1.19-5.68,P=0.024),λAP(40-100 keV)(OR=1.43,95%CI:1.10-2.07,P=0.019),and CTTA-score(OR=2.98,95%CI:1.68-6.66,P=0.001)were independent risk factors for tumor *** clinical model,clinical-texture model,and CTTA-score all performed well in predicting tumor progression within 12 months after RFA(AUC=0.917,0.962,and 0.906,respectively),and the C-indexes of the clinical and clinical-texture models were 0.917 and 0.957,***:DECT-quantitative

Influence of pressure disturbance wave on dynamic response characteristics of liquid film seal for multiphase pump

Slug flow or high GVF(Gas Volume Fraction) conditions can cause pressure disturbance waves and alternating loads at the boundary of mechanical seals for multiphase pumps, endangering the safety of multiphase pump units. The mechanical seal model is simplified by using periodic boundary conditions and numerical calculations are carried out based on the Zwart-Gerber-Belamri cavitation model. UDF(User Define Function) programs such as structural dynamics equations, alternating load equations, and pressure disturbance equations are embedded in numerical calculations, and the dynamic response characteristics of mechanical seal are studied using layered dynamic mesh technology. The results show that when the pressure disturbance occurs at the inlet, as the amplitude and period of the disturbance increase, the film thickness gradually decreases. And the fundamental reason for the hysteresis of the film thickness change is that the pressure in the high-pressure area cannot be restored in a timely manner. The maximum value of leakage and the minimum value of axial velocity are independent of the disturbance period and determined by the disturbance amplitude. The mutual interference between enhanced waves does not have a significant impact on the film thickness, while the front wave in the attenuated wave has a promoting effect on the subsequent film thickness changes, and the fluctuation of the liquid film cavitation rate and axial velocity under the attenuated wave condition deviates from the initial values. Compared with pressure disturbance conditions, alternating load conditions have a more significant impact on film thickness and leakage. During actual operation, it is necessary to avoid alternating load conditions in multiphase pump mechanical seals.
