Combined analysis of CRMP4 methylation levels and CAPRA-S score predicts metastasis and outcomes in prostate cancer patients

The present study analyzed the predictive value of combined analysis of collapsin response mediator protein 4 （CRMP4） methylation levels and the Cancer of the Prostate Risk Assessment （CAPRA-S） Postsurgical score of patients who required adjuvant hormone therapy （AHT） after radical prostatectomy （RP）, We retrospectively analyzed 305 patients with prostate cancer （PCa） who received RP and subsequent androgen deprivation therapy （ADT）. Two hundred and thirty patients with clinically high-risk PCa underwent immediate ADT, and 75 patients with intermediate risk PCa underwent deferred ADT. CRMP4 methylation levels in biopsies were determined, and CAPRA-S scores were calculated. In the deferred ADT group, the values of the hazard ratios for tumor progression and cancer-specific mortality （CSM） in patients with 〉15% CRMP4 methylation were 6.81 （95% CI, 2.34-19.80） and 12.83 （95% CI. 2.16-26.10）, respectively. Receiver-operating characteristic curve analysis indicated that CRMP4 methylation levels 〉15% served as a significant prognostic marker of tumor progression and CSM. In the immediate ADT group, CAPRA-S scores ：〉6 and CRMP4 methylation levels ：〉15% were independent predictors of these outcomes （uni- and multi-variable Cox regression analyses）. The differences in the 5-year progression-free survival between each combination were statistically significant. Combining CAPRA-S score and CRMP4 methylation levels improved the area under the curve compared with the CRMP4 or CAPRA-S model. Therefore, CRMP4 methylation levels ：〉15% were significantly associated with a poor prognosis and their combination with CAPRA-S score accurately predicted tumor progression and metastasis for patients requiring AHT after RP.

Coexpression of TLR9 and VEGF-C is associated with lymphatic metastasis in prostate cancer

Prostate cancer(PCa)is one of the most frequent cancers in men,and its biomolecular targets have been extensively *** study aimed to analyze the expression of toll-like receptor 9(TLR9)and vascular endothelial growth factor C(VEGF-C)and the clinical value of the coexpression of TLR9 and VEGF-C in *** retrospectively evaluated 55 patients with clinically localized,intermediate-risk,or high-risk PCa who underwent laparoscopic radical prostatectomy(LRP)and extended pelvic lymph node dissection(ePLND)without neoadjuvant hormonal therapy at a single institution from June 2013 to December *** all 55 patients,the median number of lymph nodes(LNs)resected was 23(range:18-31),and a total of 1269 LNs were removed,of which 78 LNs were *** patients had positive LNs,with a positive rate of 30.9%.In addition,the immunohistochemical results in the above patients revealed that high TLR9 expression was correlated with higher Gleason score(GS)(P=0.049),increased LN metastasis(P=0.004),and more perineural invasion(PNI)(P=0.033).Moreover,VEGF-C expression was associated with GS(P=0.040),pathological stage(pT stage)(P=0.022),LN metastasis(P=0.003),and PNI(P=0.001).Furthermore,a significant positive correlation between TLR9 and VEGF-C was found(P<0.001),and the TLR9/VEGF-C phenotype was associated with LN metastasis(P=0.047).Collectively,we propose that TLR9 stimulation may promote LN metastasis in PCa cells through the upregulation of VEGF-C expression,thereby affecting the prognosis of PCa ***,these markers may serve as valuable targets for the treatment of PCa.

^(68)Ga-PSMA ligand PET/CT integrating indocyanine green-guided salvage lymph node dissection for lymph node metastasis after radical prostatectomy

To efficiently remove all recurrent lymph nodes(rLNs)and minimize complications,we developed a combination approach that consisted of ^(68)Gallium prostate-specific membrane antigen(PSMA)ligand positron emission tomography(PET)/computed tomography(CT)and integrated indocyanine green(ICG)-guided salvage lymph node dissection(sLND)for rLNs after radical prostatectomy(RP).Nineteen patients were enrolled to receive such treatment.^(68)Ga-PSMA ligand PET/CT was used to identify rLNs,and 5 mg of ICG was injected into the space between the rectum and bladder before *** laparoscopy was used to perform *** extensive LN dissection was performed at level I,another 5 mg of ICG was injected via the intravenous route to intensify the fluorescent signal,and laparoscopy was introduced to intensively target stained LNs along levels I and II,specifically around suspicious LNs,with ^(68)Ga-PSMA ligand PET/***,both lateral peritonea were exposed longitudinally to facilitate the removal of fluorescently stained LNs at levels III and *** total,pathological analysis confirmed that 42 nodes were *** 145 positive LNs stained with ICG,24 suspicious LNs identified with ^(68)Ga-PSMA ligand PET/CT were *** sensitivity and specificity of ^(68)Ga-PSMA ligand PET/CT for detecting rLNs were 42.9%and 96.6%,*** ICG,the sensitivity was 92.8%and the specificity was 39.1%.At a median follow-up of 15(interquartile range[IQR]:6–31)months,15 patients experienced complete biochemical remission(BR,prostate-specific antigen[PSA]0.2 ng ml−***,^(68)Ga-PSMA ligand PET/CT integrating ICG-guided sLND provides efficient sLND with few complications for patients with rLNs after RP.

L-band tunable erbium doped fiber ring laser using fiber loop mirror filters

We present a novel and efficient L-band wavelength-tunable Er^3＋ doped fiber laser of ring structure. In the cavity two segments of Er^3＋ doped fiber and a fiber Bragg grating are used to improve pump efficiency. Tunable filters based on fiber loop mirrors are also applied inside the cavity to act as both a wavelength selector and a line-width compressor. Using these techniques, a tunable laser with tuning range up to 42 nm, output power larger than 1 mW, power uniformity controlled within 1.75 dB and side mode suppression ratio about 40 dB is achieved.

Although solar steam generation strategy is efficient in desalinating seawater,it is still challenging to achieve continuous solar-thermal desalination of seawater and catalytic degradation of organic ***,dynamic regulations of hydrogen bonding networks and solvation structures are realized by designing an asymmetric bilayer membrane consisting of a bacterial cellulose/carbon nanotube/Co_(2)(OH)_(2)CO_(3)nanorod top layer and a bacterial cellulose/Co_(2)(OH)_(2)CO_(3)nanorod(BCH)bottom ***,the hydrogen bonding networks inside the membrane can be tuned by the rich surface–OH groups of the bacterial cellulose and Co_(2)(OH)_(2)CO_(3)as well as the ions and radicals in situ generated during the catalysis ***,both SO_(4)^(2−)and HSO_(5)−can regulate the solvation structure of Na^(+)and be adsorbed more preferentially on the evaporation surface than Cl^(−),thus hindering the de-solvation of the solvated Na^(+)and subsequent nucleation/growth of ***,the heat generated by the solar-thermal energy conversion can accelerate the reaction kinetics and enhance the catalytic degradation *** work provides a flow-bed water purification system with an asymmetric solar-thermal and catalytic membrane for synergistic solar thermal desalination of seawater/brine and catalytic degradation of organic pollutants.

Quantitative reconstruction of salinity and precipitation changes in Central Asia over the past 3200 years using diatom and pollen records of lacustrine sediment in Aibi Lake of SW Junggar Basin

The response of lake environments in arid Central Asia to climate change during the Late Holocene over the centennial to millennial timescales remains contentious. The reason that primarily paleoenvironmental proxies interpreting diverse and the scarcity of accurate quantitative reconstruction records. In this study， we employed diatoms and pollen records from lacustrine sediment in the Aibi Lake of SW Junggar Basin to quantitatively reconstruct salinity and watershed precipitation amounts while exploring the associated forcing mechanism. The results indicate that Aibi Lake salinity varied between 2 g/L and 47 g/L during the Late Holocene period， indicating a generally brackish environment， and corresponding to prevailing Tryblionella granulata diatom in the lake basin. Westerly-dominated annual precipitation varied between 250 mm and 320 mm during the Late Holocene period in the basin， exhibiting a generally semi-arid environment and prevailing desert steppe vegetation. The Aibi Lake has a low salinity of average value of ～15 g/L. It exhibits elevated precipitation (average value of ～280 mm) during the periods of the Roman Warm Period (2900-1990 cal yr BP)， Dark Age Cold Period (1570-1140 cal yr BP)， and Little Ice Age (590-120 cal yr BP). The reconstructed precipitation and salinity exhibit a periodicity of ～200 years， which is consistent with the cycle of phase changes of the North Atlantic Oscillation (NAO) and Total Solar Irradiance (TSI). This correlation suggests that variations in NOA and TSI significantly influence the precipitation and salinity changes in Central Asia over centennial to millennial timescales.

目的:围术期应用华蟾素对食管胃结合部腺癌患者行纳米碳淋巴结示踪根治术预后及HKDC1、ANXA13蛋白表达的影响。方法:选取2018年1月—2020年12月在浙江中医药大学附属江南医院和延安大学附属医院接受食管胃结合部根治术治疗的80例患者,依据治疗手段的不同分为纳米组和蟾蜍素组,每组40例。纳米组患者给予切除术+纳米碳示踪淋巴结清扫术治疗,蟾蜍素组围术期应用华蟾素注射液结合切除术+纳米碳示踪淋巴结清扫术治疗。比较两组患者淋巴结检出数、肿瘤标志物水平、凝血功能、术后病理分期及HKDC1、ANXA13蛋白表达情况。结果:蟾蜍素组患者总淋巴结数、靶区淋巴数、周围淋巴数均低于纳米组(P0.05);蟾蜍素组和纳米组的HKDC1阳性表达率分别为42.5%(19/40)、70.0%(28/40),蟾蜍素组低于纳米组(χ^(2)=4.718,P=0.040);两组ANXA13的阳性表达率无明显差异(P>0.05)。结论:华蟾素可在不影响其他各项手术指标的情况下有效提高食管胃结合部腺癌患者给予纳米碳淋巴结示踪技术联合根治术的淋巴结清扫数,降低肿瘤标志物水平和HKDC1蛋白阳性表达率,改善患者凝血功能,降低分期作用明显,可提高手术质量。

Influences of Alloying Elements on Oxidation Behavior of Steels and Microstructure of Oxide Scales

In order to figure out the oxidation behavior of steels during heating,five micro-alloyed steels were subjected to continuous and isothermal oxidation using the thermo gravimetric analyzer and the Gleeble-3500thermo-mechanical *** microstructure of oxide scales,especially the thickness fractions of Fe2O3,Fe3O4 and FeO layers,was analyzed using the scanning electron microscope（SEM）,electron probe microanalyzer（EPMA）and electron backscattered diffraction（EBSD）*** micro-alloyed steels containing alloying elements（Si,Cr,Ni and Cu）show a higher oxidation resistance compared with the low carbon *** is found that alloying elements accumulated at scale/substrate interface during high temperature *** elements function in two ways in the oxidation of steels：one is enhancing the scale/substrate interface and consequently suppressing the blister of scales;and the other is impeding the outward diffusion of iron cations from substrate to scales,resulting in the decrease of oxidation *** the diffusion of iron cations is impeded,the thickness fractions of Fe2O3 and Fe3O4of micro-alloyed steels are more than those of low carbon steels.
