The gauged linear sigma model （GLSM for short） is a 2d quantum field theory introduced by Witten twenty years ago. Since then, it has been investigated extensively in physics by Hori and others. Recently, an algebro-geometric theory （for both abelian and nonabelian GLSMs） was developed by the author and his collaborators so that he can start to rigorously compute its invariants and check against physical predications. The abelian GLSM was relatively better understood and is the focus of current mathematical investigation. In this article, the author would like to look over the horizon and consider the nonabelian GLSM. The nonabelian case possesses some new features unavailable to the ahelian GLSM. To aid the future mathematical development, the author surveys some of the key problems inspired by physics in the nonabelian GLSM.

A kind of ruthenium oxide with smaller particles and higher porosity was prepared by a sol-gel process with RuCl3·xH2O and NaHCO3 solution. Several details concerning this new material, including crystal structure, particle size as functions of the temperature, and electrochemical properties were also reported. The optimal annealing temperature was 210 ℃ and the powder annealed at this temperature had a rate capacitance of 541 F/g. In addition, the rate capacitance of the composite electrode reached 802 F/g after 10% carbon black was added, much higher than any previously reported value. High energy density supercapacitors were built with the newly discovered electrode material. Energy densities as high as 67 J/g were obtained based on the RuO2·xH2O alone. By introducing the highly porous carbon black into the electrode, energy densities great than 100 J/g could be achieved. The power density of the capacitor was enhanced significantly.

The efficacy of intraperitoneal GY Y4137 therapy and intratesticular GY Y4137 therapy in an experimental rat model was *** groups were set up as the sham-operation group,torsion/detorsion(T/D)group,T/D plus intraperitoneal GY Y4137(G-IP)group,and T/D plus intratesticular GY Y4137(G-IT)*** order to establish a testicular T/D model,the left testis was opcrated and the rotation reached 720°clockwise which lasted 1 h before *** G-IP group accepted 100 umol/kg of GY Y4137 intraperitoneally 30 min after testicular rotation,while the G-IT group was treated with the same dose by intratesticular *** h after detorsion,the testis was collcted and subsequently *** T/D group showed signifcant changes in histology and an enhancement in the level of oxidative stress and apoptosis compared to the sham-operation *** expression of Caspase-3 and Bax turmed out to be strengthened by T/D and relatively decreased with GY Y4137 treatment in both the G-IP and G-IT ***,the Bcl-2 expression was inhibited in the T/D group,and promoted by GYY4137 in the G-IP and G-IT ***4137,moderating these observed changes,displayed a more protective cffect with G-IT therapy than G-IP *** study indicated that the efficacy of intratesticular therapy with GYY4137 is better than that of intraperitoneal therapy,which may provide a more valuable approach for testicular torsion therapy.

The effects of temperature on chalcocite/pyrite oxidation and the microbial population in the bioleaching columns of a low-grade chalcocite ore were investigated in this study. Raffinate from the industrial bioleaching heap was used as an irrigation solution for columns operated at 20, 30, 45, and 60℃. The dissolution of copper and iron were investigated during the bioleaching processes, and the microbial community was revealed by using a high-throughput sequencing method. The genera of Ferroplasma, Acidithiobacillus, Leptospirillum, Acidiplasma, and Sulfobacillus dominated the microbial community, and the column at a higher temperature favored the growth of moderate thermophiles. Even though microbial abundance and activity were highest at 30℃, the column at a higher temperature achieved a much higher Cu leaching efficiency and recovery, which suggested that the promotion of chemical oxidation by elevated temperature dominated the dissolution of Cu. The highest pyrite oxidation percentage was detected at 45℃. Higher temperature resulted in precipitation of jarosite in columns, especially at 60℃. The results gave implications to the optimization of heap bioleaching of secondary copper sulfide in both enhanced chalcocite leaching and acid/iron balance, from the perspective of leaching temperature and affected microbial community and activity.

Three dimensional velocity structure and accurate earthquake location in Changning–Gongxian area of southeast Sichuan

In order to understand the crustal structure and tectonic background of the Changning–Gongxiang area, southeastern Sichuan Province, where a series of moderate-to-strong earthquakes occurred in recent years, we utilized the seismic phase data both from a local dense array and from the regional seismic networks;we used the tomoDD program to invert for the high-resolution three-dimensional velocity structure within the depth range of 0–10 km and for accurate hypocentral locations in this area. We analyzed the seismogenic structures for the events of Xingwen M5.7 in 2018 and Gongxian M5.3 and Changning M6.0 in 2019. The results show that:(1) widespread lateral inhomogeneity exists in the velocity structure of the study area, and the location of the velocity anomaly is largely consistent with known structures. In the range of distinguishable depth, the inhomogeneity decreases with increasing depth, and the velocity structure anomalies in some areas are continuous in depth;(2) earthquakes occurred in clusters, showing the characteristics of zonal folding trends in the NW-SE and NE-SW directions;the focal depth in the area is generally shallow in both the sedimentary cap and the crystalline basement. The seismogenic structures of small earthquake clusters are different in size and occurrence in different sections, and the clusters occurred mostly in regions with high P-or S-wave velocities;(3) synthesis of a variety of data suggests that the seismogenic structures of the Xingwen M5.7 and Changning M6.0 earthquakes are associated with slip faults that trend NW-SE in, respectively, the south wing and the axis of the Changning–Shuanghe anticline, while that of the Gongxian M5.3 earthquake is associated with thrust faults that trend N-S in the Jianwu syncline region. The dynamic sources of the three earthquakes are all from the SE pushing of the Qinghai–Tibet block on the Sichuan basin;(4) the risk of future strong earthquakes in this area must be reevaluated in light of the
