Kinetic model of vibration screening for granular materials based on biological neural network

The kinetic model is the theoretical basis for optimizing the structure and operation performance of vibration screening devices.In this paper,a biological neurodynamic equation and neural connections were established according to the motion and interaction properties of the material under vibration excitation.The material feeding to the screen and the material passing through apertures were considered as excitatory and inhibitory inputs,respectively,and the generated stable neural activity landscape was used to describe the material distribution on the 2D screen surface.The dynamic process of material vibration screening was simulated using discrete element method(DEM).By comparing the similarity between the material distribution established using biological neural network(BNN)and that obtained using DEM simulation,the optimum coefficients of BNN model under a certain screening parameter were determined,that is,one relationship between the BNN model coefficients and the screening operation parameters was established.Different screening parameters were randomly selected,and the corresponding relationships were established as a database.Then,with straw/grain ratio,aperture diameter,inclination angle,vibration strength in normal and tangential directions as inputs,five independent adaptive neuro-fuzzy inference systems(ANFIS)were established to predict the optimum BNN model coefficients,respectively.The training results indicated that ANFIS models had good stability and accuracy.The flexibility and adaptability of the proposed BNN method was demonstrated by modeling material distribution under complex feeding conditions such as multiple regions and non-uniform rate.

Haploinsufficiency of Lipin3 leads to hypertriglyceridemia and obesity by disrupting the expression and nucleocytoplasmic localization of Lipin1

Lipin proteins including Lipin 1–3 act as transcriptional co-activators and phosphatidic acid phosphohydrolase enzymes,which play crucial roles in lipid metabolism.However,little is known about the function of Lipin3 in triglyceride(TG)metabolism.Here,we identified a novel mutation(NM_001301860:p.1835A>T/p.D612V)of Lipin3 in a large family with hypertriglyceridemia(HTG)and obesity through whole-exome sequencing and Sanger sequencing.Functional studies revealed that the novel variant altered the half-life and stability of the Lipin3 protein.Hence,we generated Lipin3 heterozygous knockout(Lipin3-heKO)mice and cultured primary hepatocytes to explore the pathophysiological roles of Lipin3 in TG metabolism.We found that Lipin3-heKO mice exhibited obvious obesity,HTG,and non-alcoholic fatty liver disorder.Mechanistic study demonstrated that the haploinsufficiency of Lipin3 in primary hepatocytes may induce the overexpression and abnormal distribution of Lipin1 in cytosol and nucleoplasm.The increased expression of Lipin1 in cytosol may contribute to TG anabolism,and the decreased Lipin1 in nucleoplasm can reduce PGC1α,further leading to mitochondrial dysfunction and reduced TG catabolism.Our study suggested that Lipin3 was a novel disease-causing gene inducing obesity and HTG.We also established a relationship between Lipin3 and mitochondrial dysfunction.

Re-delocalization of localized d-electrons in VO2（R）-VS4 hetero-structure enables high performance of rechargeable Mg-ion batteries

Rechargeable Mg-ion batteries（MIBs） have attracted much more attentions by virtue of the high capacity from the two electrons chemistry.However, the reversible Mg2+diffusion in cathode materials is restricted by the strong interactions between the high-polarized bivalent Mg2+ions and anionic lattice. Herein, we design and propose a hetero-structural VO2（R）-VS4cathode, in which the re-delocalized d-electrons can effectively shield the polarity of Mg2+ions. Theoretically, the electrons should spontaneously transfer from VS4to VO2（R） through the interfaces of hetero-structure due to the lower work function value of VS4. Furthermore, the internal electrons transfer lead to the electronic injection into VO2（R） from VS4and the partially broken V-V dimers, indicating the presence of lone pair electrons and charge re-delocalization. Benefiting from the shield effect of re-delocalized electrons, and the weakened attraction between cations and O/S anions enables more S2--S22-redox groups to participate the electrochemical reactions and compensate the double charge of Mg2+ions. Accordingly,VO2（R）-VS4hetero-structure exhibits a high specific capacity of 554 mA h g-1at 50 mA g-1. It is believed that the charge re-delocalization of cathode extremely boost the Mg2+ions migration for the high-capacity of MIBs.

A class of Sturm-Liouville problems with discontinuity is studied in this paper.The oscillation properties of eigenfunctions for Sturm-Liouville problems with interface conditions are obtained.The main method used in this paper is based on Prufer transformation,which is different from the classical ones.Moreover,we give two examples to verify our main results.

Successful management of severe hypoglycemia induced by total parenteral nutrition in patients with hepatocellular injury: Three cases reports

BACKGROUND Glucose imbalance is common in total parenteral nutrition(TPN).Hypoglycemia seems to be less frequent than hyperglycemia,but it influences the clinical outcome to a greater extent.Therefore,it should be effectively prevented and treated.However,there is no relevant report on how to treat hypoglycemia caused by TPN in patients with liver cell injury.CASE SUMMARY We present three patients with liver cell injury who developed severe hypo-glycemia during or after TPN infusion.The causes of severe hypoglycemia and glucose-raising strategies were discussed.According to the physiological charac-teristics of the hepatocellular injury,the ratio of nutrition components prescribed in TPN was appropriately adjusted for the three cases.We simultaneously reduced the dose of insulin and fat emulsion,and increased the dose of glucose in TPN.The blood glucose level was restored to normal range and clinical symptoms were eliminated.CONCLUSION When hypoglycemia occurs during or after TPN in patients with hepatocellular injury,physicians need to simultaneously reduce insulin and fat emulsion,and increase glucose,and correct severe hypoglycemia in time to reduce its adverse consequences.

Superior compound coatings prepared by low-temperature vanadium-nitrocarburizing duplex treatment

Superior compound coatings were prepared on CK45 steel surface by vanadium-nitrocarburizing duplex treatment in low-temperature salt bath.In this study,the microhardness,the phase constitution and the compositional distribution in the coatings prepared under different conditions were systematically characterized.The results indicated that the reactions among activated vanadium,carbon and nitrogen atoms occurred on the steel surface,leading to the formation of compound coatings composed of outermost and compound layers.The mechanism for the formation of compound layer as well as the growth kinetics of the layer was also discussed.Upon the duplex treatment,the wear and corrosion resistances of steel surface were significantly improved.It was found that the growth kinetics of compound layer obeyed the parabolic law,with the activation energy of 122.82 kJ·mol-1.

A rigorous real-time acoustic positioning method for ocean bottom seismic exploration

The conventional technique for positioning seafloor geophones in ocean bottom seismic exploration encounters several challenges,including the significant impact of outliers on positioning results,underutilization of high-precision observations,and low efficiency in real-time data processing.These issues inevitably affect the quality of seismic exploration outcomes.To address these challenges and enhance the accuracy of geophone positioning,this paper proposes a rigorous real-time acoustic positioning method for geophones based on sequential adjustment and Baarda's outlier detection approach.The proposed method comprises three key steps:grouping the original acoustic observations,constructing the intra-group acoustic positioning model,and synthesizing the positioning results across the different groups.The validity and practicality of this approach are confirmed through a simulation experiment as well as the field experiment conducted in the Bohai Sea,China.The results demonstrate that the proposed method effectively eliminates outliers in the original observations and maximizes the utilization of high-quality observations.Compared to traditional acoustic positioning methods,it significantly reduces positioning errors from meters to decimeters,and in some cases can achieve centimeter-level precision.When the sound velocity profile in the operating sea area is measured,the method can attain the posterior standard deviation at the millimeter level and positioning errors within 10 cm.When the sound velocity profile is unknown,the method can achieve the posterior standard deviation at centimeter-level and positioning errors of approximately 20 cm.

The pharmaceutical industry is now paying increased attention to continuous manufacturing.While the revolution to continuous and automated manufacturing is deepening in most of the top pharma companies in the world,the advancement of automated pharmaceutical continuous manufacturing in China is relatively slow due to some key challenges including the lack of knowledge on the related technologies and shortage of qualified personnels.In this review,emphasis is given to two of the crucial technologies in automated pharmaceutical continuous manufacturing,i.e.,process analytical technology(PAT)and self-optimizing algorithm.Research work published in recent 5 years employing advanced PAT tools and self-optimization algorithms is introduced,which represents the great progress that has been made in automated pharmaceutical continuous manufacturing.

BACKGROUND Laparoscopic colorectal cancer surgery increases the risk of incisional hernia(IH)at the tumor extraction site.AIM To investigate the incidence of IH at extraction sites following laparoscopic colo-rectal cancer surgery and identify the risk factors for IH incidence.METHODS This study retrospectively analyzed the data of 1614 patients who underwent la-paroscopic radical colorectal cancer surgery with tumor extraction through the abdominal wall at our center between January 2017 and December 2022.Diffe-rences in the incidence of postoperative IH at different extraction sites and the risk factors for IH incidence were investigated.RESULTS Among the 1614 patients who underwent laparoscopic radical colorectal cancer surgery,303(18.8%),923(57.2%),171(10.6%),and 217(13.4%)tumors were ex-tracted through supraumbilical midline,infraumbilical midline,umbilical,and off-midline incisions.Of these,52 patients developed IH in the abdominal wall,with an incidence of 3.2%.The incidence of postoperative IH was significantly higher in the off-midline incision group(8.8%)than in the middle incision groups[the supraumbilical midline(2.6%),infraumbilical midline(2.2%),and umbilical incision(2.9%)groups](χ^(2)=24.985;P<0.05).Univariate analysis showed that IH occurrence was associated with age,obesity,sex,chronic cough,incision infection,and combined diabetes,anemia,and hypopro-teinemia(P<0.05).Similarly,multivariate analysis showed that off-midline incision,age,sex(female),obesity,incision infection,combined chronic cough,and hypoproteinemia were independent risk factors for IH at the site of laparoscopic colorectal cancer surgery(P<0.05).CONCLUSION The incidence of postoperative IH differs between extraction sites for laparoscopic colorectal cancer surgery.The infraumbilical midline incision is associated with a lower hernia rate and is thus a suitable tumor extraction site.

As a cornerstone of the central dogma of molecular biology,RNA plays vital roles in living organisms.Over the past few decades,many RNA labeling technologies have been developed to elucidate the biological function of RNA.These technologies have signifi-cantly advanced our understanding of RNA secondary structure,localization,and turnover.Additionally,taking advantage of these innovative RNA labeling approaches,plenty of tool kits have been devised for the regulation of RNA-related biological process,such as gene expression and gene editing.In this review,we primarily focus on an array of intracellular RNA labeling methods,encom-passing chemical probes-based labeling,metabolic labeling,and proximity-dependent labeling.We also provide a brief overview of their applications in the research of RNA biology.Finally,the perspectives of RNA labeling are also discussed.
