Concurrent hetero-/homo-geneous electrocatalysts to bi-phasically mediate sulfur species for lithium-sulfur batteries

Expediting redox kinetics of sulfur species on conductive scaffolds with limited charge accessible surface is considered as an imperative approach to realize energy-dense and power-intensive lithium-sulfur(Li-S)*** this work,the concept of concurrent hetero-/homo-geneous electrocatalysts is proposed to simultaneously mediate liquid-solid conversion of lithium polysulfides(LiPSs)and solid lithium disulfide/sulfide(Li_(2)S_(2)/Li_(2)S)propagation,the latter of which suffers from sluggish reduction kinetics due to buried conductive scaffold surface by extensive deposition of Li_(2)S_(2)/Li_(2)*** selected model material to verify this concept is a two-in-one catalyst:carbon nanotube(CNT)scaffold supported iron-cobalt(Fe-Co)alloy nanoparticles and partially carbonized selenium(C-Se)*** Fe-Co alloy serves as a heterogeneous electrocatalyst to seed Li_(2)S_(2)/Li_(2)S through sulphifilic active sites,while the C-Se sustainably releases soluble lithium polyselenides and functions as a homogeneous electrocatalyst to propagate Li_(2)S_(2)/Li_(2)S via solution *** bi-phasic mediation of the sulfur species benefits reduction kinetics of LiPS conversion,especially for the massive Li_(2)S_(2)/Li_(2)S growth scenario by affording an additional solution directed route in case of conductive surface being largely *** strategy endows the Li-S batteries with improved cycling stability(836 mA h g^(-1)after 180 cycles),rate capability(547 mA h g^(-1)at 4 C)and high sulfur loading superiority(2.96 mA h cm^(-2)at 2.4 mg cm^(-2)).This work hopes to enlighten the employment of bi-phasic electrocatalysts to dictate liquid-solid transformation of intermediates for conversion chemistry batteries.

Despite being a leading candidate to meet stringent energy targets,lithium(Li) metal batteries(LMBs)face severe challenges at low temperatures such as dramatic increase in impedance,capacity loss and dendrite *** fingerprinting rate-limited factors of low-temperature LMBs would encourage targeted approaches to promote ***,the charge transfer impedance across solid electrolyte interphase(SEI) is identified to restrict battery operation under low temperature,and we propose a facile approach on the basis of ambiently fostering SEI(af-SEI) to facilitate charge *** concept of af-SEI stems from kinetic benefits and structural merits to construct SEI at ambient temperature over low temperature developed SEI that is temporally consuming to achieve steady state and that is structurally defective to incur dendrite *** af-SEI allows ionically conductive and morphologically uniform layer on the anode surface,which exhibits a lower resistance and induces an even deposition of Li in the subsequent low temperature battery *** with af-SEI,the LMBs deliver the improved rate performance and prolonged cycle life when subjected to low temperature *** work unveils the underlying causes that limit low temperature LMB performances,and enlightens the facile test protocols to build up favorable SEI,beyond scope of material and morphology design.

Dynamic Analysis of A Deepwater Drilling Riser with A New Hang-off System

The safety of risers in hang-off states is a vital challenge in offshore oil and gas engineering.A new hang-off system installed on top of risers is proposed for improving the security of *** approach leads to a challenging problem:coupling the dynamics of risers with a new hang-off system combined with multiple structures and complex *** accurately analyze the dynamic responses of the coupled system,a coupled dynamic model is established based on the Euler-Bernoulli beam-column theory and penalty function method.A comprehensive analysis method is proposed for coupled dynamic analysis by combining the finite element method and the Newmarkβ*** analysis program is also developed in MATLAB for dynamic *** simulation results show that the dynamic performances of the risers at the top part are significantly improved by the new hang-off system,especially the novel design,which includes the centralizer and articulation *** bending moment and lateral deformation of the risers at the top part decrease,while the hang-off joint experiences a great bending moment at the bottom of the lateral restraint area which requires particular attention in design and *** platform navigation speed range under the safety limits of risers expands with the new hang-off system in use.

ATP6AP2,a regulator of LRP6/β-catenin protein trafficking,promotes Wnt/β-catenin signaling and bone formation in a cell type dependent manner

Wnt/β-catenin signaling is critical for various cellular processes in multiple cell types,including osteoblast(OB)differentiation and *** how Wnt/β-catenin signaling is regulated in OBs remain ***6AP2,an accessory subunit of V-ATPase,plays important roles in multiple cell types/organs and multiple signaling ***,little is known whether and how ATP6AP2 in OBs regulates Wnt/β-catenin signaling and bone *** we provide evidence for ATP6AP2 in the OB-lineage cells to promote OB-mediated bone formation and bone homeostasis selectively in the trabecular bone *** knocking out(CKO)ATP6AP2 in the OB-lineage cells(Atp6ap2^(Ocn-Cre))reduced trabecular,but not cortical,bone formation and bone *** and cellular biochemical studies revealed that LRP6 and N-cadherin were reduced in ATP6AP2-KO BMSCs and OBs,but not *** in vitro and in vivo studies revealed impairedβ-catenin signaling in ATP6AP2-KO BMSCs and OBs,but not osteocytes,under both basal and Wnt stimulated conditions,although LRP5 was decreased in ATP6AP2-KO osteocytes,but not *** cell biological studies uncovered that osteoblastic ATP6AP2 is not required for Wnt3a suppression ofβ-catenin phosphorylation,but necessary for LRP6/β-catenin and N-cadherin/β-catenin protein complex distribution at the cell membrane,thus preventing their *** of activeβ-catenin diminished the OB differentiation deficit in ATP6AP2-KO *** together,these results support the view for ATP6AP2 as a critical regulator of both LRP6 and N-cadherin protein trafficking and stability,and thus regulatingβ-catenin levels,demonstrating an un-recognized function of osteoblastic ATP6AP2 in promoting Wnt/LRP6/β-catenin signaling and trabecular bone formation.

Ex vivo liver resection and auto-transplantation as an alternative for the treatment of liver malignancies: Progress and challenges

High-order Soliton Matrix for the Third-order Flow Equation of the Gerdjikov-Ivanov Hierarchy Through the Riemann-Hilbert Method

The Gerdjikov-Ivanov(GI)hierarchy is derived via recursion operator,in this article,we mainly investigate the third-order flow GI *** the framework of the Riemann-Hilbert method,the soliton matrices of the third-order flow GI equation with simple zeros and elementary high-order zeros of Riemann-Hilbert problem are constructed through the standard dressing *** advantage of this result,some properties and asymptotic analysis of single soliton solution and two soliton solution are discussed,and the simple elastic interaction of two soliton are *** with soliton solution of the classical second-order flow,we find that the higher-order dispersion term affects the propagation velocity,propagation direction and amplitude of the ***,by means of a certain limit technique,the high-order soliton solution matrix for the third-order flow GI equation is derived.

Towards full demonstration of high areal loading sulfur cathode in lithium–sulfur batteries

Lithium–sulfur(Li–S)batteries have been recognized as promising substitutes for current energy-storage technologies owing to their exceptional advantages in very high-energy density and excellent material *** cathode with high sulfur areal loading is vital for the practical applications of Li–S batteries with very high energy ***,the high sulfur loading in an electrode results in poor rate and cycling performances of batteries in most ***,we used diameters of 5.0(D5)and 13.0(D13)mm to probe the effect of electrodes with different sizes on the rate and cycling performances under a high sulfur loading(4.5 mg cm^-2).The cell with D5 sulfur cathode exhibits better rate and cycling performances comparing with a large(D13)*** the high concentration of lithium polysulfides and corrosion of lithium metal anode impede rapid kinetics of sulfur redox reactions,which results in inferior battery performance of the Li–S cell with large diameter *** work highlights the importance of rational matching of the large sulfur cathode with a high areal sulfur loading,carbon modified separators,organic electrolyte,and Li metal anode in a pouch cell,wherein the sulfur redox kinetics and lithium metal protection should be carefully considered under the flooded lithium polysulfide conditions in a working Li–S battery.

Cone-beam computed tomography noise reduction method based on U-Net with convolutional block attention module in proton therapy

Cone-beam computed tomography(CBCT)is mostly used for position verification during thetreatrment ***,severe image artifacts in CBCT hinder its direct use in dosecalculation and adaptive radiation therapy re-planning for proton *** this study,animproved U-Net neural network named CBAM-U-Net was proposed for CBCT noise reductioninproton therapy which is a GBCT denoised U-Net network with convolutional block *** datasets contained 20 groups of head and neck *** CT images wereregistered to CBCT images as ground *** original CBCT denoised U-Net network,sCTU-Net,was trained for model performance *** synthetic CT(SCT)images generated byCBAM-U-Net and the original sCTU-Net are called CBAM-SCT and U-Net-SCT images,*** HU accuracies of the CT,GBCT,and SCT images were compared using fourmetrics:mean absolute error(MAE),root mean square error(RMSE),peak signal-to-noise ratio(PSNR),and structure simila rity index measure(SSIM).The mean values of the MAE,RMSE,PSNR,and SSIM of CBAM-SCT images were 23.80 HU,64.63 HU,52.27 dB,and 09919,respectively,which were superior to those of the U-Net-SCT *** evaluate dosimetricaccuracy,the range accuracy was compared for a single-energy proton *** r-index passrates ofa 4 cm X 4 cm scanned field and simple plan were calculated to compare the effects of thenoise reduction capabilities of the original U-Net and CBAM-U-Net on the dose ***-U-Net reduced noise more effectively than sCTU-Net,particularly in *** proposed a CBAM-U-Net model for CBCT noise reduction in proton *** tothe excellent noise reduction capabilities of CBAM-U-Net,the proposed model provided relativelyexplicit information rega rding patient ***,it maybe be used in dose calculation andadaptive treatment planning in the future.

In this article,we construct free centroid hom-associative algebras and free centroid hom-Lie *** also construct some other relatively free centroid hom-associative algebras by applying the Gr?bner-Shirshov basis theory for(unital)centroid hom-associative ***,we prove that the"Poincaré-Birkhoff-Witt theorem"holds for certain type of centroid hom-Lie algebras over a field of characteristic 0,namely,every centroid hom-Lie algebra such that the eigenvectors of the mapβlinearly generates the whole algebra can be embedded into its universal enveloping centroid hom-associative algebra,and the linear basis of the universal enveloping algebra does not depend on the multiplication table of the centroid hom-Lie algebra under consideration.
