Fiber-shaped dye-sensitized solar cells(FDSSCs)represent promising futuristic flexible or wearable power sources,owing to their simple fabrication process,light weight,weavability,and *** with strategies on changing the properties of semiconductor materials,the effects of incorporating silver-embedded SiO_(2) nanoparticles(Ag@SiO_(2)NPs)on the photoanodes of solid-state FDSSCs(SS-FDSSCs)are *** power conversion efficiency(PCE)of SS-FDSSCs with Ag@SiO_(2) NPs reaches 5.38%,which is comparable to the reference(3.98%).The PCEs remain at 95%between-16.9 and 91.7℃,indicating the operational stability of SS-FDSSCs within this temperature *** fabricated SS-FDSSCs,whose radii were 2 mm,maintains more than 90%of their efficiency over 500 bending cycles and 10 washing cycles.

Salivary gland-specific transcriptomes of nine heteropteran insects with distinct feeding strategies (predaceous, hematophagous, and phytophagous) were analyzed and annotated to compare and identify the venom components as well as their expression profiles. The transcriptional abundance of venom genes was verified via quantitative real-time PCR. Hierarchical clustering of 30 representative differentially expressed venom genes from the nine heteropteran species revealed unique groups of salivary gland-specific genes depending on their feeding strategy. The commonly transcribed genes included a paralytic neurotoxin (arginine kinase), digestive enzymes (cathepsin and serine protease), an anti-inflammatory protein (cystatin), hexamerin, and an odorant binding protein. Both predaceous and hematophagous (bed bug) heteropteran species showed relatively higher transcription levels of genes encoding proteins involved in proteolysis and cytolysis, whereas phytophagous heteropterans exhibited little or no expression of these genes, but had a high expression of vitellogenin, a multifunctional allergen. Saliva proteomes from four representative species were also analyzed. All venom proteins identified via saliva proteome analysis were annotated using salivary gland transcriptome data. The proteomic expression profiles of venom proteins were in good agreement with the salivary gland-specific transcriptomic profiles. Our results indicate that profiling of the salivary gland transcriptome provides important information on the composition and evolutionary features of venoms depending on their feeding strategy.

We evaluated whether the prostate-specific antigen (PSA)mass or free PSA (fPSA)mass (i.e.,absolute amount of total circulating PSA or fPSA protein,respectively),versus serum PSA or fPSA concentration,improves the accuracy of predicting the total prostate volume (TPV)in relation to *** men whose multicore (≥12)transrectal prostate biopsy was negative,586 who had a PSA of <10 ng ml^-1 and underwent the fPSA test prior to biopsy were *** PSA mass or fPSA mass (pg)was calculated by multiplying the serum level by plasma *** each TPV cut-off point (30 ml,40 ml,and 50 ml),the areas under the receiver operating characteristics curve (AUCs)of each variable were compared in obesity-based *** of fPSA and fPSA mass for predicting TPV were significantly larger than those for PSA and PSA mass by 8.7%-12.1%at all cut-off points. Subgroup analyses based on obesity showed that,although PSA mass and fPSA mass enhanced accuracy by 4%(P =0.031)and 1.8%(P =0.003),respectively,for determining TPVs of ≥30 ml and ≥50 ml in obese and overweight men,they did not improve the accuracy in most other combinations of the degrees of obesity with TPV cut-off ***,compared with serum PSA or fPSA,the absolute amount of PSA or fPSA protein mass improved the accuracy of predicting TPV in obese men very minimally and only for certain TPV cut-off ***,these indicators may not provide clinically meaningful improvement in predicting TPV in obese men.

In optics,the refractive index of a material and its spatial distribution determine the characteristics of light ***,exploring both low-and high-index materials/structures is an important consideration in this *** cavities,which are defined as low-index bases,exhibit a variety of unusual or even unexplored optical characteristics and are used in numerous functionalities including diffraction gratings,localised optical antennas and low-loss *** this report,we discuss the fabrication of hollow cavities of various sizes(O.2-5μm in diameter)that are supported by conformal dielectric/metal shells,as well as their specific applications in the ultraviolet(photodetectors),visible(light-emitting diodes,solar cells and metalenses),near-infrared(thermophotovoltaics)and mid-infrared(radiative coolers)*** findings demonstrate that hollow cavities tailored to specific spectra and applications can serve as versatile optical platforms to address the limitations of current optoelectronic ***,hollow cavity embedded structures are highly elastic and can minimise the thermal stress caused by high *** such,future applications will likely include high-temperature devices such as thermophotovoltaics and concentrator photovoltaics.

As a nonlinear,strong coupling and multi-variable system,the drive performance of bearingless switched reluctance motor(BLSRM)is always limited by its complicated electromagnetic ***,conventional PID methods are used to achieve the basic control requirement in wide industrial applications,however its inherent operating principle limits its use on suspending control of *** this paper,the suspending force system,which is separately controlled from torque system,is built based on an adaptive fuzzy PID controller to limit the rotor eccentric displacement with proper generation of radial *** compared with a system adopted using conventional PID method for suspending force control,the proposed adaptive fuzzy PID method has superior performance in shortening the response time,reducing the maximum eccentric displacement error and higher speed range of operation due to its online self-turning of controller *** in simulation and experimental cases,comparison of results of the above two methods validates the effectiveness of the adaptive fuzzy PID controller for BLSRM drive system.

Basalt fibers(BFs)have emerged as a promising thermal insulation material for various applications,such as fireproof clothes/walls and protective equipment in military and civil *** have many desirable characteristics,such as low thermal conductivity,excellent flame resistance,exceptional mechanical strength,facile manipulability,environmental friendliness,and ***,the low intrinsic interfacial properties of BFs due to their chemical inertness and macro-scaled sizes have been a challenge for high performance of BFs-reinforced polymeric composites(BFRPs).Since the mechanical properties of BFRPs significantly depend on the interfacial interaction between the fibers and the matrix,it is critical to understand how incorporating BFs influences the properties of the *** this end,the aim of this review is to report on recent research progress with emphasis on the interfacial behavior in *** relationships between the fiber–matrix interfacial adhesion and the mechanical properties of the BFRPs are briefly described with systematic and up-to-date surface modification techniques summarized into two categories:surface modifications(“wet”and“dry”)and multi-scaled ***,several strategies for increasing the interfacial adhesion of BFs within the polymeric matrix to provide new ideas and insight for future research on the BFRPs are discussed.

Risk of ischaemic stroke in patients with transient global amnesia: a propensity-matched cohort study

Background The exact pathophysiological mechanism of transient global amnesia(TGA)is *** is debatable whether TGA is a risk factor for ***,here we investigated the possibility of TGA as a risk factor for stroke in a real-world setting using large-scale nationwide health claims *** We used health claims data from the Korean National Health Insurance Service(NHIS).Patients diagnosed with TGA between 2007 and 2013 were *** initially extracted patients without TGA who were preferentially matched for age and sex with the patients with TGA at a ratio of 10:1 from the whole ***,we performed 1:2 propensity score matching analysis to balance the baseline characteristics between the two *** the propensity score-matched dataset,we performed multivariable Cox regression analysis to investigate the association between TGA and stroke type,including ischaemic,haemorrhagic and all stroke *** Patients with TGA(n=14673)were selected from the NHIS *** extracting from the whole database(n=140486)and propensity score matching their data at a 1:2 ratio,a total of 10448 and 20442 patients were finally assigned to the TGA and control groups,*** multivariable Cox regression analysis demonstrated that the TGA group had a higher risk of ischaemic stroke and all types of stroke(adjusted HR=1.194;95%CI:1.043 to 1.368;and HR=1.197;95%CI:1.056 to 1.357,respectively).Conclusions Analysis of the nationwide claims database showed that TGA could be an important risk factor for stroke,especially for ischaemic stroke.
