High-throughput volumetric adaptive optical imaging using compressed time-reversal matrix

Deep-tissue optical imaging suffers from the reduction of resolving power due to tissue-induced optical aberrations and multiple scattering *** matrix approaches recording the maps of backscattered waves for all the possible orthogonal input channels have provided formidable solutions for removing severe aberrations and recovering the ideal diffraction-limited spatial resolution without relying on fluorescence labeling and guide ***,measuring the full input–output response of the tissue specimen is time-consuming,making the real-time image acquisition ***,we present the use of a time-reversal matrix,instead of the reflection matrix,for fast high-resolution volumetric imaging of a mouse *** time-reversal matrix reduces two-way problem to one-way problem,which effectively relieves the requirement for the coverage of input *** a newly developed aberration correction algorithm designed for the time-reversal matrix,we demonstrated the correction of complex aberrations using as small as 2%of the complete basis while maintaining the image reconstruction fidelity comparable to the fully sampled reflection *** to nearly 100-fold reduction in the matrix recording time,we could achieve real-time aberration-correction imaging for a field of view of 40×40µm^(2)(176×176 pixels)at a frame rate of 80 ***,we demonstrated high-throughput volumetric adaptive optical imaging of a mouse brain by recording a volume of 128×128×125µm^(3)(568×568×125 voxels)in 3.58 s,correcting tissue aberrations at each and every 1µm depth section,and visualizing myelinated axons with a lateral resolution of 0.45µm and an axial resolution of 2µm.

An analytical solution in physical variable space is presented for transient gas flows during constant-rate production from a vertically-fractured well in an infinite homogeneous reservoir with finite fracture *** solution is based on the short-time asymptotic solution and a new approximate transient elliptical flow solution,which covers transient flows from the bilinear flow regime to the pseudo-radial flow *** solution covers the well-known asymptotic solutions in both short-and long-time limits of bilinear and pseudo-radial *** analytical model provides a practical and reliable engineering tool to evaluate the fractured reservoir properties,which can be programmed using a spreadsheet.

High efficiency and flexible inverted organic solar cells have been fabricated using solution-processed silver nanowire/zinc oxide composite transparent electrodes. The transparent electrodes showed a low sheet resistance of -13 ff）.sq-1 and high transmittance of -93% as well as superior mechanical flexibility. Power conversion efficiencies of -7.57% and -7.21% were achieved for devices fabricated on glass and plastic substrate, respectively. Moreover, the flexible devices did not show any degradation in their performance even after being folded with a radius of-480 μm.

A novel coumarin-based "turn-on" fluorescent probe SS-1 was developed for selective detection of SO_2 derivatives in 100% water solution among reactive sulfur species(RSS). The detection limit of the method was 91.7 nM. Moreover, the probe exhibited low cytotoxicity and was successfully applied in the imaging of endogenously generated SO_2 in HeLa cells.

Recent research has demonstrated the impact of physical activity on the prognosis of glioma patients,with evidence suggesting exercise may reduce mortality risks and aid neural *** role of the small ubiquitin-like modifier(SUMO)protein,especially post-exercise,in cancer progression,is gaining attention,as are the potential anti-cancer effects of *** used machine learning to create the exercise and SUMO-related gene signature(ESLRS).This signature shows how physical activity might help improve the outlook for low-grade glioma and other *** demonstrated the prognostic and immunotherapeutic significance of ESLRS markers,specifically highlighting how murine double minute 2(MDM2),a component of the ESLRS,can be targeted by *** underscores the intricate relationship between natural compounds such as nutlin-3 and immune *** comprehensive CRISPR screening,we validated the effects of specific ESLRS genes on low-grade glioma *** also revealed insights into the effectiveness of Nutlin-3a as a potent MDM2 inhibitor through molecular docking and dynamic ***-3a inhibited glioma cell proliferation and activated the p53 *** efficacy decreased with MDM2 overexpression,and this was reversed by Nutlin-3a or *** using a low-grade glioma mouse model highlighted the effect of physical activity on oxidative stress and molecular pathway ***,both physical exercise and Nutlin-3a administration improved physical function in mice bearing tumors derived from MDM2-overexpressing *** results suggest the potential for Nutlin-3a,an MDM2 inhibitor,with physical exercise as a therapeutic approach for glioma *** research also supports the use of natural products for therapy and sheds light on the interaction of exercise,natural products,and immune regulation in cancer treatment.

Long-term outcomes of focal laser photocoagulation for the treatment of polypoidal choroidal vasculopathy

AIM:To evaluate the long-term effect and safety of focal laser photocoagulation treatment in eyes with polypoidal choroidal vasculopathy(PCV).METHODS:Medical records of 13 eyes of 13 patients with PCV were followed-up for more than 2 y after focal laser photocoagulation *** patients were diagnosed with PCV using indocyanine green angiography,and eyes with other comorbid ocular diseases were *** measurement outcomes of the study were the post-treatment regression and recurrence of polyps,complications,and changes in visual *** t-test was performed to compare visual outcome before and after the ***:The mean age of the 13 patients was 70.2±5.5 y,and the follow-up period was 72.3±31.0(range,25-118)*** eyes had juxtafoveal polyps and 10 eyes had extrafoveal *** the 13 eyes,9 eyes(69.2%)had regression of polyps 1.7±1.2(range,0.9-4)mo after focal laser *** eyes(55.6%)showed recurrence of polyps during the follow-up periods,and the recurrence period was 12.8±18.9(range,1.9-48)*** subretinal hemorrhage occurred in two eyes(15.4%)27 and 72 d after laser treatment,*** were no statistically significant differences in visual acuities at baseline;1,2,3 y post-treatment(all P>0.05);and last follow-up(0.63±0.5,0.73±0.70,0.67±0.57,0.75±0.7,and 0.95±0.8 log MAR,respectively).CONCLUSION:Focal laser photocoagulation is beneficial for early regression of polyps in eyes with PCV and does not result in significant submacular hemorrhage during the long-term ***,it can be primarily considered in eyes with PCV with extrafoveal or juxtafoveal polyps to regress risky polyps as well as to maintain visual acuity without serious hemorrhagic complications.

Novel Cylinder Movement Modeling Method Based on Aerodynamics

The cylinder movement is affected by multiple factors and it is difficult to establish the accurate movement model of the cylinder. In order to improve the reliability of the production line design and to speed up the production line debugging, a novel cylinder movement modeling method based on aerodynamics is proposed. The kinetic theory, thermodynamic theory and kinematics knowledge are applied and integrated various factors which affect the movement characteristics of the cylinder are considered. According to the proposed mathematical model of cylinder movement, thecombined simulation software of cylinder movement based on Visual Studio and Visual Component （3D Create） is developed to calculate thevelocity, accel- eration and movement time of the cylinders during the running of the assembly line. Comparison results of cylinder＇s movement time under different intake air and displacement show that the mathematical model of cylinder movement based on aerodynamic is more accurate and the degree of fittingis 0.9846, which proves the effectiveness of the combined simulation software of cylinder movement. By the cylinder movement modeling method based on aerodynamic, accurate value of takt and the debug parameters can be calculated as a reference for the designers and debuggers of the cylinder-driven assembly lines.

Detection of small hepatocellular carcinoma:Comparison of dynamic enhancement magnetic resonance imaging and multiphase multirow-detector helical CT scanning

AIM: To compare the gadolinium-enhanced multiphase dynamic magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) and multiphase multirow-detector helical CT (MDCT) scanning for detection of small hepatocellular carcinoma (HCC). METHODS: MDCT scanning and baseline MRI with SE T1-WI and T2-WI sequence combined with FMPSPGR sequence were performed in 37 patients with 43 small HCCs. Receiver operating characteristic (ROC) curves were plotted to analyze the results for modality. RESULTS: The areas below ROC curve (Az) were calculated. There was no statistical difference in dynamic enhancement MDCT and MRI. The detection rate of small HCC was 97.5%-97.6% on multiphase MDCT scanning and 90.7%-94.7% on MRI, respectively. The sensitivity of detection for small HCC on MDCT scanning was higher than that on dynamic enhancement MRI. The sensitivity of detection for minute HCC (tumor diameter ≤ 1 cm) was 90.0%-95.0% on MDCT scanning and 70.0%-85.0% on MRI, respectively. CONCLUSION: MDCT scanning should be performed for early detection and effective treatment of small HCC in patients with chronic hepatitis and cirrhosis during follow-up.

There are extensive studies on the applications of extracellular vesicles(EVs)produced in cell culture for therapeutic drug ***,large quantities of EVs are needed for in vivo applications,which requires high production costs and ***,the development of new EV sources is essential to facilitate their ***,plant-derived exosome-like nanovesicles are an emerging alternative for culture-derived *** now,however,few studies have explored their biological functions and ***,it is necessary to elucidate biological activities of plant-derived exosome-like nanovesicles and harness vesicles for biomedical ***,cabbage and red cabbage were used as nanovesicle sources owing to their easy ***,an efficient method for nanovesicle isolation from cabbage(Cabex)and red cabbage(Rabex)was ***,isolated nanovesicles were characterized,and their biological functions were *** Cabex and Rabex promoted mammalian cell proliferation and,interestingly,suppressed inflammation in immune cells and apoptosis in human keratinocytes and ***,therapeutic drugs were encapsulated in Cabex or Rabex and successfully delivered to human cells,demonstrating the potential of these vesicles as alternative drug delivery ***,the current results provide strong evidence for the wide application of Cabex and Rabex as novel therapeutic biomaterials.

A review of China's energy consumption structure and outlook based on a long-range energy alternatives modeling tool

China＇s energy consumption experienced rapid growth over the past three decades, raising great concerns for the future adjustment of China＇s energy consumption structure. This paper first presents the historical evidence on China＇s energy consumption by the fuel types and sectors. Then, by establishing a bottom-up accounting framework and using long-range energy alternatives plan- ning energy modeling tool, the future of China＇s energy consumption structure under three scenarios is forecast. According to the estimates, China＇s total energy con- sumption will increase from 3014 million tonnes oil equivalent （Mtoe） in 2015 to 4470 Mtoe in 2040 under the current policies scenario, 4040 Mtoe in 2040 under the moderate policies scenario and 3320 Mtoe in 2040 under the strong policies scenario, respectively, lower than those of the IEA＇s estimations. In addition, the clean fuels （gas, nuclear and renewables） could be an effective alternative to the conventional fossil fuels （coal and oil） and offer much more potential. Furthermore, the industry sector has much strong reduction potentials than the other sectors. Finally, this paper suggests that the Chinese government should incorporate consideration of adjustment of the energy consumption structure into existing energy policies and measures in the future.
