Protective effect of oat bran extracts on human dermal fibroblast injury induced by hydrogen peroxide

Oat contains different components that possess antioxidant properties; no study to date has addressed the antioxidant effect of the extract of oat bran on the cellular level. Therefore, the present study focuses on the investi- gation of the protective effect of oat bran extract by enzymatic hydrolysates on human dermal fibroblast injury induced by hydrogen peroxide （H2O2）. Kjeldahl determination, phenol-sulfuric acid method, and high-performance liquid chromatography （HPLC） analysis indicated that the enzymatic products of oat bran contain a protein amount of 71.93%, of which 97.43% are peptides with a molecular range from 438.56 to 1301.01 Da. Assays for 1,1-diphenyl-2-picrylhydrazyl （DPPH） radical scavenging activity indicate that oat peptide-dch extract has a direct and concentration-dependent antioxidant activity. 3-（4,5-Dimethylthiazol-2-yl）-2,5-diphenyl tetrazolium bromide （MTT） colorimetric assay and the TdT-mediated digoxigenin-dUTP nick-end labeling （TUNEL） assay for apoptosis showed that administration of H2O2 in human dermal fibroblasts caused cell damage and apoptosis. Pre-incubation of human dermal fibroblasts with the Oatp for 24 h markedly inhibited human dermal fibroblast injury induced by H2O2, but ap- plication oat peptides with H2O2 at same time did not. Pre-treatment of human dermal fibroblasts with Oatp significantly reversed the H2O2-induced decrease of superoxide dismutase （SOD） and the inhibition of malondialdehyde （MDA）. The results demonstrate that oat peptides possess antioxidant activity and are effective against H2O2-induced human dermal fibroblast injury by the enhanced activity of SOD and decrease in MDA level. Our results suggest that oat bran will have the potential to be further explored as an antioxidant functional food in the prevention of aging-related skin injury.

Highly conductive and stable iodine doped argyrodite electrolyte for all-solid-state lithium batteries

Lithium argyrodites with high ionic conductivity and low cost are considered as one of the most prospective solid electrolytes for all-solid-state lithium ***,the poor chemical stability and compatibility with lithium metal limit their ***,Li_(5.4)PS_(4.4)Cl1.4I0.2solid electrolyte with high ionic conductivity of 11.49 m S ccm^(-1)and improved chemical stability is synthesized by iodine *** ultra-thin Li_(5.4)PS_(4.4)Cl_(1.4)I_(0.2)membrane with thickness of 10μm can be obtained by wet coating process,exhibiting a high ionic conductivity of 2.09 mS ccm^(-1)and low areal resistance of 1.17Ωcm^(-2).Moreover,iodine doping could in-situ form LiI at the lithium/electrolyte interface and improve the critical current density of Li_(5.4)PS_(4.4)Cl_(1.6)from 0.8 to 1.35 mA cm^(-2).The resultant LiCoO_(2)/Li_(5.4)PS_(4.4)Cl_(1.4)I_(0.2)/Li battery shows excellent cycling stability at 1 C,with a reversible specific capacity of 110.1 mA h g^(-1)and a retention of 80.5% after 1000 *** addition,the assembled LiCoO_(2)/Li_(5.4)PS_(4.4)Cl_(1.4)I_(0.2)membrane/Li pouch cell delivers an initial discharge capacity of 110.4 mA h g^(-1)and 80.5% capacity retention after 100 cycles.

A Deep Learning Estimation Method for Temperature-Induced Girder End Displacements of Suspension Bridges

To improve the accuracy of thermal response estimation and overcome the limitations of the linear regression model and Artificial Neural Network(ANN)model,this study introduces a deep learning estimation method specifically based on the Long Short-Term Memory(LSTM)network,to predict temperature-induced girder end displacements of the Dasha Waterway Bridge,a suspension bridge in ***,to enhance data quality and select target sensors,preprocessing based on the sigma rule and nearest neighbor interpolation is applied to the raw ***,to eliminate the high-frequency components from the displacement signal,the wavelet transform is ***,the linear regression model and ANN model are established,whose results do not meet the requirements and fail to address the time lag effect between temperature and *** study proceeds to develop the LSTM network model and determine the optimal parameters through hyperparameter sensitivity ***,the results of the LSTM network model are discussed by a comparative analysis against the linear regression model and ANN model,which indicates a higher accuracy in predicting temperatureinduced girder end displacements and the ability to mitigate the time-lag *** be more specific,in comparison between the linear regression model and LSTM network,the mean square error decreases from 6.5937 to 1.6808 and R2 increases from 0.683 to 0.930,which corresponds to a 74.51%decrease in MSE and a 36.14%improvement in *** to ANN,with an MSE of 4.6371 and an R2 of 0.807,LSTM shows a decrease in MSE of 63.75%and an increase in R2 of 13.23%,demonstrating a significant enhancement in predictive performance.

End-to-end dataflow engineering framework of honey manufacturing from intermediates to process by TAS1R2@AuNPs/SPCE biosensor coupled with quality transfer principle

This study reported an original end-to-end dataflow engineering framework for the quality transfer principle to overcome the quality challenges in real-world honey manufacturing. Firstly, 650 pivotal data points of physical and chemical quality attributes from 65 batches of honey intermediates were characterized through multiple sensors, which included rheological properties, acidity, moisture, and sugars. Furthermore, a hypersensitized TAS1R2@AuNPs/SPCE biosensor was developed to identify biological quality attributes of honey, the powerful affinities between honey intermediates and the TAS1R2 receptor were discovered (KD −8 M), and the abnormal batches of B2, B23 and C23 were diagnosed by TAS1R2@AuNPs/SPCE biosensor and multivariable algorithm. Finally, the end-to-end dataflow containing physical, chemical and biological critical quality attributes was successfully established to interpret the quality transfer principle of honey manufacturing, which revealed that the front-end refining process was relatively unstable and the back-end refining process was a negligible influence on the quality of honey manufacturing. This framework embraces quality management, quality transfer, and biosensor information, which will contribute to discovering the quality transfer principle in industrial innovation for intelligent manufacturing. © 2022

Exosome technology:A novel and effective drug delivery system in the field of cancer therapy

In this article,we revisit an article,which specifically focuses on the utilization of exosomes derived from human bone marrow mesenchymal stem cells(MSCs)for targeted delivery of gemcitabine in pancreatic cancer *** experimental results demonstrated that the exosome-based drug delivery system derived from MSCs significantly augmented apoptosis in pancreatic cancer *** biocompatibility,targeting specificity,and low immunogenicity of exosomes render them as optimal carriers for drug delivery,enabling precise administration of therapeutics to diseased tissues while mitigating adverse effects,thereby achieving targeted treatment of cancer cells and significantly enhancing anti-tumor ***,the clinical application of exosome drug delivery platforms in oncology still presents challenges,necessitating further optimization to ensure their stability and *** study focuses on elucidating the advantages of exosomes as a drug delivery platform,exploring the utilization of MSC-derived exosomes in oncology therapy,and discussing their potential and future directions in cancer treatment.
