Depositional model of the Member Deng-2 marginal microbial mound-bank complex of the Dengying Formation in the southwestern Sichuan Basin, SW China: Implications for the Ediacaran microbial mound construction and hydrocarbon exploration

Recent advances in hydrocarbon exploration have been made in the Member Deng-2 marginal microbial mound-bank complex reservoirs of the Dengying Formation in the western Sichuan Basin, SW China,where the depositional process is regarded confusing. The microfacies, construction types, and depositional model of the Member Deng-2 marginal microbial mound-bank complex have been investigated using unmanned aerial vehicle photography, outcrop section investigation, thin section identification,and seismic reflections in the southwestern Sichuan Basin. The microbialite lithologic textures in this region include thrombolite, dendrolite, stromatolite, fenestral stromatolite, spongiostromata stone,oncolite, aggregated grainstone, and botryoidal grapestone. Based on the comprehensive analysis of“depositional fabrics-lithology-microfacies”, an association between a fore mound, mound framework,and back mound subfacies has been proposed based on water depth, current direction, energy level and lithologic assemblages. The microfacies of the mound base, mound core, mound flank, mound cap, and mound flat could be recognized among the mound framework subfacies. Two construction types of marginal microbial mound-bank complex have been determined based on deposition location, mound scale, migration direction, and sedimentary facies association. Type jinkouhe microbial mound constructions(TJMMCs) develop along the windward margin owing to their proximity to the seaward subfacies fore mound, with a northeastwardly migrated microbial mound on top of the mud mound,exhibiting the characteristics of large-sized mounds and small-sized banks in the surrounding area. Type E'bian microbial mound constructions(TEMMCs) primarily occur on the leeward margin, resulting from the presence of onshore back mound subfacies, with the smaller southwestward migrated microbial mounds existing on a thicker microbial flat. The Li-Mg-B-H composite(2LiBH_(4)+MgH_(2))has a high capacity of 11.4 wt%as a hydrogen storage ***,the slow kinetics and poor cycling stability severely restrict its practical *** this work,a layered Nb_(2)C MXene was first synthesized and then introduced to tailor the kinetics and cycling stability of the Li-Mg-B-H *** milled 2LiH+MgB_(2)composites were initially hydrogenated to obtain the 2LiBH_(4)+MgH_(2)*** 2LiBH_(4)+MgH_(2)+5wt%Nb_(2)C can release 9.0 wt%H_(2)in 30 min at 400℃,while it is only 2.7 wt%for the undoped 2LiBH_(4)+MgH_(2).The dehydrogenation activation energies of MgH_(2)and LiBH_(4)are 123 and 154 kJ·mol^(-1)respectively for the 5 wt%Nb_(2)C-doped composite,lower than the undoped composite(164 and 165 kJ·mol^(-1)).The 2LiBH_(4)+MgH_(2)+5 wt%Nb_(2)C possesses excellent cycling stability,with the reversible capacity only slightly reduced from 9.4 wt%for the 1st cycle to 9.3 wt%for the 20th ***_(2)C keeps stable in the composite and acts as an efficient catalyst for the Li-Mg-B-H *** is believed that both the layered structure and the active Nb element contribu te to the enhanced hydrogen storage performances of the Li-Mg-B-H *** work confirms that the Nb_(2)C MXene with layered stru cture has a significant enhancing impact on the Li-Mg-B-H hydrogen storage materials,which is different from the bulk NbC.

A Composite Elastomer with Photo-responsive Shape Memory and Programmable Hygroscopic Actuation Functionalities

Developing hydroscopic actuators with simultaneous high elasticity,shape programmability and tunable actuating behaviors are highly desired but still *** this study,we propose an orthogonal composite design to develop such a *** developed composite elastomer comprises carboxyl group-grafted polystyrene-block-poly(ethylene-co-butylene)-block-polystyrene(SEBS-g-COOH)as the elastic substrate,and a synthesized azobenzene derivative as the functional filler(Azo12).By surface treatment using acidic and base solutions,the carboxyl groups on the surface can reversibly transform into carboxylate groups,which render the composite tunable hygroscopic actuating *** another aspect,the added filler undergoes trans-to-cis isomerization when exposed to UV light irradiation,leading to liquefaction of the crystalline aggregates formed by Azo12 *** liquefied Azo12 molecules can autonomously resotre their trans form and reform the crystalline *** reversible change in crystralline structure is utilized to realize the shape memory property,and 5 wt%of Azo12addition is adequate for the composite to exhibit photo-responsive shape memory behavior without compromising much of the *** regualtion of external geometry by shape memory effect is effective in altering the actuating *** proposed method can be extend to designing different composites with the demonstrated functionalities.

Optimization study of spherical tuyere based on BP neural network and new evaluation index

The energy consumption of heating,ventilation,and air conditioning(HVAC)systems holds a significant position in building energy usage,accounting for about 65%of the total energy ***,with the advancement of building automation,the energy consumption of ventilation systems continues to *** study focuses on improving the performance of spherical tuyeres in HVAC *** primarily utilizes neural networks and multi-island genetic algorithms(MIGA)for multi-parameter *** employing methods such as structural parameterization,accurate and fast computational fluid dynamics(CFD)simulations,a minimized sample space,and a rational optimization strategy,the time cycle of the optimization process is ***,a new comprehensive evaluation index is proposed in this research to describe the performance of spherical tuyeres,which can be used to more accurately assess spherical tuyeres with different *** results show that by establishing a neural network prediction model and combining it with the multi-island genetic algorithm,a novel spherical tuyere design was successfully *** optimized novel spherical tuyeres achieved a 27.05%reduction in the spherical tuyeres effective index(STEI)compared to the traditional spherical ***,the resistance decreased by 15.68%,and the jet length increased by 7.57%.The experimental results demonstrate that our proposed optimization method exhibits high accuracy,good generalization capability,and excellent agreement at different Reynolds numbers.

Knowledge Distillation via Hierarchical Matching for Small Object Detection

Knowledge distillation is often used for model compression and has achieved a great breakthrough in image classification,but there still remains scope for improvement in object detection,especially for knowledge extraction of small *** main problem is the features of small objects are often polluted by background noise and not prominent due to down-sampling of convolutional neural network(CNN),resulting in the insufficient refinement of small object features during *** this paper,we propose Hierarchical Matching Knowledge Distillation Network(HMKD)that operates on the pyramid level P2 to pyramid level P4 of the feature pyramid network(FPN),aiming to intervene on small object features before *** employ an encoder-decoder network to encapsulate low-resolution,highly semantic information,akin to eliciting insights from profound strata within a teacher network,and then match the encapsulated information with high-resolution feature values of small objects from shallow layers as the *** this period,we use an attention mechanism to measure the relevance of the inquiry to the feature *** in the process of decoding,knowledge is distilled to the *** addition,we introduce a supplementary distillation module to mitigate the effects of background *** show that our method achieves excellent improvements for both one-stage and twostage object ***,applying the proposed method on Faster R-CNN achieves 41.7%mAP on COCO2017(ResNet50 as the backbone),which is 3.8%higher than that of the baseline.

First satellite observation of total column water vapor from the Chinese Environmental Trace Gases Monitoring Instrument

Atmospheric water vapor is a critical component of the Earth's water cycle and has significant impacts on weather,climate, and atmospheric chemistry. However, deficiencies remain in the coverage and accuracy of water vapor monitoring. In this study, we first retrieved the total column water vapor（TCWV） in the visible blue spectral band from two Chinese satellite UV-Vis spectrometers, the Environmental Trace Gases Monitoring Instruments（EMIs）, which are onboard the Chinese GaoFen-5（GF-5, since May 2018） and GaoFen-5B（GF-5B, since September 2021） satellites. Nevertheless, limited by factors such as the relatively lower spectral signal-to-noise ratio and weak absorption of water vapor, the accurate retrieval of TCWV from the EMI spectrum is rather challenging. Therefore, we improved the baseline TCWV retrieval based on the differential optical absorption technique, including the re-calibration of the on-orbit spectra, optimization of the spectral fitting, and bias correction in the fitted result. Sensitivity tests show that the mean retrieval TCWV error of the EMI decreased by 1.47 kg m–2compared to that using uncalibrated spectra. The improved spectral fitting significantly reduced the relative uncertainty of the water vapor slant column densities（SCD） by 13.42%, and increased the number of successful fits by 11.64%. The improved EMI TCWV retrieval results from both the GF-5 and GF-5B satellites show a trend consistent with the TROPOspheric Monitoring Instrument（TROPOMI）satellite observations, with a correlation coefficient（R） of 0.98 and a mean bias of 1.04 kg m–2（6.88%）. Ground-based validations showed that the correlation between the EMI TCWV retrievals from the GF-5B satellite（R=0.91） and sun photometer measurements was significantly higher than that from the GF-5 satellite（R=0.87）, which may have been due to the improved performance of the EMI instrument on the GF-5B satellite. The flotation of complex solid–liquid multiphase systems involve interactions among multiple components,the core problem facing flotation ***,the combined use of multicomponent flotation reagents to improve mineral flotation has become an important issue in studies on the efficient use of refractory mineral ***,studying the flotation of complex solid–liquid systems is extremely difficult,and no systematic theory has been developed to *** addition,the physical mechanism associated with combining reagents to improve the flotation effect has not been unified,which limits the development of flotation theory and the progress of flotation *** this study,we applied theoretical thermodynamics to a solid–liquid flotation system and used changes in the entropy and Gibbs free energy of the reagents adsorbed on the mineral surface to establish thermodynamic equilibrium equations that de-scribe interactions among various material components while also introducing adsorption equilibrium constants for the flotation reagents adsorbed on the mineral *** homogenization effect on the mineral surface in pulp solution was determined using the chemical potentials of the material components of the various mineral surfaces required to maintain *** flotation effect can be improved through synergy among multicomponent flotation reagents;its physical essence is the thermodynamic law that as the number of compon-ents of flotation reagents on the mineral surface increases,the surface adsorption entropy change increases,and the Gibbs free energy change of adsorption *** to the results obtained using flotation thermodynamics theory,we established high-entropy flotation theory and a technical method in which increasing the types of flotation reagents adsorbed on the mineral surface,increasing the adsorption entropy change of the flotation reagents,decreasing the Gibbs free energy change,and improving the adsorption efficiency
