A charged particle array named MATE-PA,which serves as an auxiliary detector system for a Multi-purpose Active-target Time projection chamber used in nuclear astrophysical and exotic beam Experiments(MATE),was *** array comprised of 20 single-sided strip-silicon detectors covering approximately 10%of the solid *** detectors facilitated the detection of reaction-induced charged particles that penetrate the active volume of the *** performance of MATE-PA has been experimentally studied using an alpha source and a 36-MeV 14 N beam injected into the MATE chamber on the radioactive ion beam line in Lanzhou(RIBLL).The chamber was filled with a gas mixture of 95%4 He and 5%CO_2 at a pressure of 500 *** results indicated good separation of light-charged particles using the forward double-layer silicon detectors of *** energy resolution of the Si detectors was deduced to be approximately 1%(σ)for an energy loss of approximately 10 MeV caused by theα*** inclusion of MATE-PA improves particle identification and increases the dynamic range of the kinetic energy of charged particles,particularly that of theαparticles,up to approximately 15 MeV.

Lambda polarization at the Electron-ion collider in China

Lambda polarization can be measured through its self-analyzing weak decay, making it an ideal candidate for studying spin effects in high-energy scattering. In lepton-nucleon deep inelastic scattering(DIS), Lambda polarization measurements can probe polarized parton distribution functions(PDFs) and polarized fragmentation functions(FFs). One of the most promising facilities for high-energy nuclear physics research is the proposed Electron-ion collider in China(EicC). As a next-generation facility, EicC is set to advance our understanding of nuclear physics to new heights. In this article, we study the Lambda production in electron-proton collisions at the EicC energy, in particular the reconstruction of Lambda based on the performance of the designed EicC detector. In addition, taking spontaneous transverse polarization as an example, we provide a theoretical prediction with a statistical projection based on one month of EicC data, offering valuable insights into future research prospects.

Microstructure of Bi-containing zirconium alloys

The effect of Bi addition(0.05 wt%-0.50 wt%)on the microstructure of zirconium alloys,including T5(Zr-0.7 S n-1.0 Nb-0.3 Fe-0.1 Cr),S5(Zr-0.8 Sn-0.35 Nb-0.4 Fe-0.1 Cr),Zr-4(Zr-1.5 Sn-0.2 Fe-0.1 Cr) and Zr-1 Nb,was investigated by transmission electron microscopy(TEM),energy-dispersive spectroscopy(EDS) and selected area electron diffraction(SAED).Results show that with the increase in Bi content,h-Zr(Fe,Cr,Nb)2,o-Zr(Fe,Sn,Bi)_(2) and Zr-Fe-Cr-Nb-Sn-Bi second-phase particles(SPPs) precipitate successively in the T5+xBi and S5+xBi alloys;in the Zr-4+xBi alloys,h-Zr(Fe,Cr)2,o-Zr(Fe,Sn,Bi)2,Zr-Fe-Cr-Sn-Bi and Zr-Fe-Cr-Bi SPPs are detected *** as for Zr-1 Nb+xBi alloys,Bi-free SPPs *** addition of Bi promotes the precipitation of SPPs with Sn in the *** concentration of Bi dissolved in α-Zr matrix increases with the decrease in Sn content in the *** reasonable Bi has little influence on the solid solution content of Nb in α-Zr matrix.

Effects of Surface Roughness on Interface Bonding Performance for 316H Stainless Steel in Hot-Compression Bonding

The metallurgical bonding quality of bonding joints is affected by the substrate surface state in hot-compression bonding(HCB),and the surface roughness is a core indicator of the surface ***,the effects of surface roughness on interface bonding performance(IBP)in the HCB process are unclear for substrates with refractory oxide *** study presents the effects of surface roughness on IBP for 316H stainless steel joints fabricated by HCB.A set of HCB parameters for interface bonding critical state of 316H stainless steel joints was *** HCB experiments were carried out under parameters of interface bonding critical state to amplify the effect of surface *** interface morphologies,element distribution,and tensile properties were used to characterize the *** a result,the formation mechanisms of the interface pits were revealed and the variation trend of pit number with the roughness was ***,the mapping relation between surface roughness and IBP was *** results show that the degree of rotational dynamic recrystallization becomes weaker with the decrease in the surface roughness and the interface bonding mechanism is completely transformed into discontinuous dynamic recrystallization when the roughness is lower than 0.020μm *** number of interfacial pits decreases as the roughness decreases owing to the weakening of oxide scale aggregation and abrasive inclusion *** elongation of the tensile specimen cannot increase significantly while the roughness is lower than 0.698μm Sa.

Neural Dynamics for Cooperative Motion Control of Omnidirectional Mobile Manipulators in the Presence of Noises: A Distributed Approach

This paper presents a distributed scheme with limited communications, aiming to achieve cooperative motion control for multiple omnidirectional mobile manipulators(MOMMs).The proposed scheme extends the existing single-agent motion control to cater to scenarios involving the cooperative operation of MOMMs. Specifically, squeeze-free cooperative load transportation is achieved for the end-effectors of MOMMs by incorporating cooperative repetitive motion planning(CRMP), while guiding each individual to desired poses. Then, the distributed scheme is formulated as a time-varying quadratic programming(QP) and solved online utilizing a noise-tolerant zeroing neural network(NTZNN). Theoretical analysis shows that the NTZNN model converges globally to the optimal solution of QP in the presence of noise. Finally, the effectiveness of the control design is demonstrated by numerical simulations and physical platform experiments.

Close-packed layer spacing as a practical guideline for structure symmetry manipulation of IV-VI/I-V-VI_(2) thermoelectrics

The crystal-structure symmetry in real space can be inherited in the reciprocal space,making high-symmetry materials the top candidates for thermoelectrics due to their potential for significant electronic band degeneracy.A practical indicator that can quantitatively describe structural changes would help facilitate the advanced thermoelectric material *** face-centered cubic structures,the spatial environment of the same crystallographic plane family is isotropic,such that the distances between the close-packed layers can be derived from the atomic distances within the *** by this,the relationship between inter-and intra-layer geometric information can be used to compare crystal structures with their desired cubic *** close-packed layer spacing was found to be a practical guideline of crystal structure symmetry in IV-VI chalcogenides and I-V-VI_(2) ternary semiconductors,both of which are historically important *** continuous structural evolution toward high symmetry can be described by the layer spacing when temperature or/and composition change,which is demonstrated by a series of pristine and alloyed thermoelectric materials in this *** layerspacing-based guideline provides a quantitative pathway for manipulating crystal structures to improve the electrical and thermal properties of thermoelectric materials.

Response of ocean acidification to atmospheric carbon dioxide removal

Artificial CO_(2)removal from the atmosphere(also referred to as negative CO_(2)emissions)has been proposed as a potential means to counteract anthropogenic climate *** we use an Earth system model to examine the response of ocean acidification to idealized atmospheric CO_(2)removal *** our simulations,atmospheric CO_(2)is assumed to increase at a rate of 1%per year to four times its pre-industrial value and then decreases to the pre-industrial level at a rate of 0.5%,1%,2%per year,*** results show that the annual mean state of surface ocean carbonate chemistry fields including hydrogen ion concentration([H^(+)]),pH and aragonite saturation state respond quickly to removal of atmospheric CO_(2).However,the change of seasonal cycle in carbonate chemistry lags behind the decline in atmospheric CO_(2).When CO_(2)returns to the pre-industrial level,over some parts of the ocean,relative to the pre-industrial state,the seasonal amplitude of carbonate chemistry fields is substantially *** results also show that changes in deep ocean carbonate chemistry substantially lag behind atmospheric CO_(2)*** CO_(2)returns to its pre-industrial value,the whole-ocean acidity measured by[H^(+)]is 15%-18%larger than the pre-industrial level,depending on the rate of CO_(2)*** study demonstrates that even if atmospheric CO_(2)can be lowered in the future as a result of net negative CO_(2)emissions,the recovery of some aspects of ocean acidification would take decades to centuries,which would have important implications for the resilience of marine ecosystems.

Effect of annealing temperature on microstructure and mechanical properties of Mg-Zn-Zr-Nd alloy with large final rolling deformation

In this study,the Mg-3Zn-0.5Zr-χNd(χ=0,0.6)alloys were subjected to final rolling treatment with large deformation of 50%.The impact of annealing temperatures on the microstructure and mechanical properties was *** rolled Mg-3Zn-0.5Zr-0.6Nd alloy exhibited an ultimate tensile strength of 386 MPa,a yield strength of 361 MPa,and an elongation of 7.1%.Annealing at different temperatures resulted in reduced strength and obviously increased elongation for both *** mechanical properties for the Mg-3Zn-0.5Zr-0.6Nd alloy were achieved after annealing at 200℃,with an ultimate tensile strength of 287 MPa,a yield strength of 235 MPa,and an elongation of 26.1%.The numerous deformed microstructures,twins,and precipitated phases in the rolled alloy could impede the deformation at room temperature and increase the work hardening *** annealing,a decrease in the work hardening effect and an increase in the dynamic recovery effect were obtained due to the formation of fine equiaxed grains,and the increased volume fraction of precipitated phases,which significantly improved the elongation of the ***,the addition of Nd element could enhance the annealing recrystallization rate,reduce the Schmid factor difference between basal and prismatic slip systems,facilitate multi-system slip initiation and improve the alloy plasticity.
