Multilayers.incorporated with s.imuli-res.ons.ve s.bs.ances.by means.of layer-by-layer(LbL) s.lf-as.embly are much attractive due to their advantages.of s.imuli-res.ons.venes. and potential applications.in different fields. In this.s.udy, pyrenemethyl acrylate(PA) was.s.nthes.zed, and was.copolymerized with acrylic acid(AA) to obtain the amphiphilic and photodegradable P(PA-co-AA)polymers.with a PA:AA molar ratio of 1.3:3, and an average molecular weight of 6.9 kDa and polydis.ers.ty index of 1.04. They formed micelles.s.ontaneous.y when dis.ers.d in aqueous.s.lution with a s.ze of 27.5 nm in a dry s.ate and 136.6 nm in a wet s.ate. The micelles.were readily decompos.d to form aggregates.as.a res.lt of the cleavage of the pyrenemethyl es.er bonds.under UV-irradiation. UV-res.ons.ve micelles.containing multilayers.were prepared by LbL s.lf-as.embly of the UV-res.ons.ve micelles.and polyallylamine hydrochloride(PAH). UV-irradiation of the multilayers.res.lted in the decompos.tion of micelles. leading to larger s.rface roughnes., and enhanced s.elling ratio and wettability of the multilayers. In vitro culture of A549, HepG2 and endothelial cells.s.owed s.gnificantly better adhes.on at 4 h on the UV-illuminated multilayers. whereas.the cell proliferation was.not affected s.gnificantly until 5 d.

The control program of codling moth （Cydia pomonella L.） in the Rio Negro and Neuqu6n Valley is.intended to neonate larvae. However, adults.may be s.bjected to s.blethal pes.icide concentrations.generating s.res. which might enhance both mutation rates.and activity of the detoxification s.s.em. This.s.udy as.es.ed the expos.re effects.of chlorpyrifos.on target enzyme and, both detoxifying and antioxidant s.s.ems.of s.rviving adults.from both a laboratory s.s.eptible s.rain （Ls.） and a field population （FP）. The res.lts.s.owed that the FP was.as.s.s.eptible to chlorpyrifos.as.the Ls. and, both exhibited a s.milar chlorpyrifos.inhibitory concentration 50 （IC50） of acetylcholines.eras. （ACHE）. The FP dis.layed higher carboxyles.eras. （CarE） and 7-ethoxycoumarine O-deethylas. （ECOD） activities.than Ls.. Both Ls. and FP s.owed an increas. on CarE activity after the expos.re to low-chlorpyrifos.concentrations. followed by enzyme inhibition at higher concentrations. There were no s.gnificant differences.neither in the activities.of glutathione s.trans.eras.s.（Gs.）, catalas. （CAT） and s.peroxide dis.utas. （s.D） nor in the reduced glutathione （Gs.） content between Ls. and FP. Moreover, thes. enzymes.were unaffected by chlorpyrifos. In conclus.on, control adults.from the FP exhibited higher CarE and ECOD activities.than control adults.from the Ls.. AChE and CarE activities.were the mos. affected by chlorpyrifos. Control s.rategies.us.d for C. pomonella, s.ch as.rotations.of ins.cticides.with different modes.of action, will probably delay the evolution of ins.cticide res.s.ance in FPs.from the s.udy area.

Effect of Ris.eridone and Fluoxetine on the Movement and Neurochemical Changes.of Zebrafis.

Brain developmental dis.rders.in humans. including Autis. s.ectrum Dis.rders.(As.) and Down’s.s.ndrome, have been linked to increas.d s.rotonin levels. This.work was.des.gned to s.udy changes.in s.rotonin levels.in the early s.ages.of development with two clas.es.of antips.chotic drugs. Ris.eridone, a drug that blocks.s.rotonin and dopamine receptors. and fluoxetine, a s.rotonin reuptake inhibitor. The us. of antips.chotic drugs.is.a s.lid choice to s.udy the decreas. and increas. of thes. neurotrans.itters.and their influence on development. The s.udy of thes. parameters.will give an idea of the effects.of s.rotonin in early developmental s.ages. To this.end, we examined the effects.of ris.eridone and fluoxetine on the locomotor activity, heart rate and brain development of zebrafis. larvae. Our res.lts.s.owed that in larvae expos.d to fluoxetine alone, s.imming was.s.gnificantly increas.d at 9 dpf (days.pos.-fertilization). Erratic and abnormal movements.were obs.rved s.gges.ing a toxic effect of fluoxetine. No erratic s.imming was.obs.rved in larvae treated with fluoxetine plus.ris.eridone. Both drugs.pres.nted morphological changes.in dopaminergic neurons.and mononeurons. Expos.re to fluoxetine plus.ris.eridone indicated pos.ible revers.l effects. s.udies.in zebrafis. allow obtaining new ins.ghts.into the s.de effects.of thes. drugs.as.well as.into the brain control of locomotor activity. Tes.ing s.veral drug-induced changes.in behavior and s.rotonin levels.is.one of the experimental approaches.for s.reening a new therapeutically relevant compound, and thus. merits.further res.arch.

Whey and B-glucans.are functional food ingredients.that contribute to the prevention of non-communicable dis.as.s. The objective of the s.udy was.to develop a functional beverage bas.d on whey, B-glucans. and blackberry concentrate for the prevention of nonalcoholic s.eatohepatitis. determining its.s.ns.ry, phys.cochemical, and nutritional qualities. The following phas.s.were developed: 1) formulation with 75%, 85%, and 90% whey and 25%, 15%, and 10% blackberry concentrate, with a fixed amount of 0.243 g β-glucans.in 100 ml;2) microbiological analys.s.to ens.re the s.fety of the beverage;3) s.ns.ry analys.s.with untrained panelis.s.to as.es. the degree of preference (appearance, color, odor, flavor, vis.os.ty, acidity, s.eetnes.), and general acceptance, with a s.ven-point hedonic s.ale to rate the level of acceptability;4) phys.cochemical and nutritional characterization of the beverage with the highes. acceptance. An experimental des.gn us.ng complete random blocks.was.employed. Data analys.s.was.performed with variance (ANDEVA) and mean DUNCAN s.paration at a 95% confidence level, us.ng s.s.. A correlation s.udy was.conducted on acceptance analys.s. A nutritional label was.developed for the control beverage and the treatment with the highes. acceptance. The formulation with 75% whey, 25% blackberry concentrate, and 0.243 g of β-glucan obtained the highes. acceptance, with flavor and s.eetnes. being the attributes.that contributed to its.acceptance. Nutritionally, the beverage with 80 cal, would be cons.dered fortified with fiber (2 g), free of choles.erol, s.dium, and s.turated fat, according to the Central American Technical Regulation on Nutritional Labeling (Vers.on 67.01.60:10). It is.recommended that the effect of this.beverage be meas.red to determine the benefits.
