Segment Anything for Comprehensive Analysis of Grapevine Cluster Architecture and Berry Properties

Grape cluster architecture and compactness are complex traits influencing disease susceptibility,fruit quality,and *** methods for these traits include visual scoring,manual methodologies,and computer vision,with the latter being the most scalable *** of the existing computer vision approaches for processing cluster images often rely on conventional segmentation or machine learning with extensive training and limited *** Segment Anything Model(SAM),a novel foundation model trained on a massive image dataset,enables automated object segmentation without additional *** study demonstrates out-of-the-box SAM's high accuracy in identifying individual berries in 2-dimensional(2D)cluster *** this model,we managed to segment approximately 3,500 cluster images,generating over 150,000 berry masks,each linked with spatial coordinates within their *** correlation between human-identified berries and SAM predictions was very strong(Pearson's r^(2)=0.96).Although the visible berry count in images typically underestimates the actual cluster berry count due to visibility issues,we demonstrated that this discrepancy could be adjusted using a linear regression model(adjusted R^(2)=0.87).We emphasized the critical importance of the angle at which the cluster is imaged,noting its substantial effect on berry counts and *** proposed different approaches in which berry location information facilitated the calculation of complex features related to cluster architecture and ***,we discussed SAM's potential integration into currently available pipelines for image generation and processing in vineyard conditions.

The purpose of this research is to perform an analysis of the relationship between the influence of the WOM and the attitude of the consumers,in the buying decision process within a platform like We Chat.A detailed theoretical review and a valuable methodological contribution are presented through quantitative research using an ordinal and nominal scale of discrete variation,and evaluated through a survey designed to obtain perceptions that allow us to know the relation that Exists between the influence of the WOM and the attitude of the consumers and the purchase *** results of the correlations between the variables allowed to evidence with a high level of significance that attitudes can determine a purchase ***,barriers,trust,relationships and similarities are learned predispositions and draw particular attitudes that definitely affect a buying ***,it was verified that WOM evidently plays an important role and is an influential factor in the purchase *** addition,the results allowed us to have a corresponding approach on the motivations and barriers of a consumer / person to talk or share information about a brand or product on We Chat.

Impact of socioeconomic and health-related factors on consumption of homeopathic and natural remedies in Spain in 2006, 2011 and 2017

Objective: Complementary and alternative medicine use and type of use may be influenced by sociodemographic and economic determinants through which we could identify characteristics of patients with greater trend to use it. This paper aims to describe the changes in the consumption of homeopathic and natural remedies in Spain for three time points in order to discern changes in rate of consumption, associated factors and whether their use has been affected by a period of economic ***: This study utilized 2006, 2011 and 2017 cross-sectional data from the Spanish National Health Survey, a nationally representative survey of the population aged more than 15 years old and resident in Spain. Independent bivariate and multivariate descriptive analyses for each of the 3 years studied were ***: The rate of consumption of both homeopathic and natural remedies has decreased over the periods studied. In spite of this decrease, the consumer profile appears to remain stable over the three periods. The sociodemographic factors associated with their consumption were being female, being 30–64 years old, being separated/divorced, having higher education qualifications, being employed and belonging to a higher social class. Psychiatric morbidity, chronic health problems such as pain, mental health problems or malignant tumors, and absence of major cardiovascular events were the clinical factors ***: It can be concluded that beyond the economic situation, the use of homeopathic and natural remedies obeys to the needs of the patients related to their state of health and the response they receive from the health system. It may be that women have different needs and expectations of the healthcare system and, given this breach of expectations, seek remedy to alleviate their needs outside the system and conventional medicine.

Habitat use and demography of Mus musculus in a rural landscape of Argentina

The main goal of the paper was to determine the habitat distribution of the house mouse(Mus musculus)within a rural landscape of Buenos Aires province,*** also studied the seasonal variation in abundance and reproductive *** habitats studied were poultry farms,human houses in a small village,cropfields,pastures,cropfield and pasture edges,riparian habitats(streams),railway embankments and *** captured 817 *** and 690 individuals of 5 native rodent *** was captured in poultry farms,houses,riparian habitats,cropfield and borders,but it showed a significantly higher abundance in poultry farms compared to the other *** presence outside poultry farms was significantly related to the distance to streams and poultry *** mean trapping success index of *** did not show significant variations between periods,but the proportion of active males was significantly higher in the spring-summer period than in the autumn-winter *** captures of *** in cropfields,borders and riparian habitats occurred in the spring-summer *** capture of *** in many types of habitats suggests that it can disperse outside poultry farms,and streams may be used as corridors.

Helicobacter pylori-induced inflammation and epigenetic changes during gastric carcinogenesis

The sequence of events associated with the development of gastric cancer has been described as "the gastric precancerous cascade". This cascade is a dynamic process that includes lesions, such as atrophic gastritis, intestinal metaplasia and dysplasia. According to this model, Helicobacter pylori(H. pylori) infection targets the normal gastric mucosa causing non-atrophic gastritis, an initiating lesion that can be cured by clearing H. pylori with antibiotics or that may then linger in the case of chronic infection and progress to atrophic gastritis. The presence of virulence factors in the infecting H. pylori drives the carcinogenesis process. Independent epidemiological and animal studies have confirmed the sequential progression of these precancerous lesions. Particularly long-term follow-up studies estimated a risk of 0.1% for atrophic gastritis/intestinal metaplasia and 6% in case of dysplasia for the long-term development of gastric cancer. With this in mind, a better understanding of the genetic and epigenetic changes associated with progression of the cascade is critical in determining the risk of gastric cancer associated with H. pylori infection. In this review, we will summarize some of the mostrelevant mechanisms and focus predominantly but not exclusively on the discussion of gene promoter methylation and mi RNAs in this context.

Fabrication of UV responsive micelles-containing multilayers and their influence on cell adhesion

Multilayers incorporated with stimuli-responsive substances by means of layer-by-layer(LbL) self-assembly are much attractive due to their advantages of stimuli-responsiveness and potential applications in different fields. In this study, pyrenemethyl acrylate(PA) was synthesized, and was copolymerized with acrylic acid(AA) to obtain the amphiphilic and photodegradable P(PA-co-AA)polymers with a PA:AA molar ratio of 1.3:3, and an average molecular weight of 6.9 kDa and polydispersity index of 1.04. They formed micelles spontaneously when dispersed in aqueous solution with a size of 27.5 nm in a dry state and 136.6 nm in a wet state. The micelles were readily decomposed to form aggregates as a result of the cleavage of the pyrenemethyl ester bonds under UV-irradiation. UV-responsive micelles-containing multilayers were prepared by LbL self-assembly of the UV-responsive micelles and polyallylamine hydrochloride(PAH). UV-irradiation of the multilayers resulted in the decomposition of micelles, leading to larger surface roughness, and enhanced swelling ratio and wettability of the multilayers. In vitro culture of A549, HepG2 and endothelial cells showed significantly better adhesion at 4 h on the UV-illuminated multilayers, whereas the cell proliferation was not affected significantly until 5 d.

During the 20th century,there has been an ongoing agricultural expansion and global warming,two of the main determinants influencing biodiversity changes in *** red hocicudo mouse(Oxymycterus rufus)inhabits subtropical grasslands and riparian habitats and has increased its abundance in recent years in central Argentina *** paper describes the long-term temporal changes in *** abundance in Exaltación de la Cruz department,Buenos Aires province,Argentina,in relation to weatherfluctuations and landscape features,as well as analyzes the spatio-temporal structure of captures of *** used generalized liner models,semi-variograms,the Mantel test,and autocorrelation functions for the analysis of rodent data obtained from trappings conducted between 1984 and *** showed an increase in abundance across the years of study,with its distribution depending on landscape features,such as habitat types and the distance *** rates showed a spatio-temporal aggregation,suggesting expansion from previously occupied *** was more abundant at lower minimum temperatures in summer,higher precipitation in spring and summer,and lower precip-itations in *** conditions affected *** abundance,but there was local variation that differed from global patterns of climate change.

The impact of paralog genes:detection of copy number variation in spinal muscle atrophy patients

Spinal muscular atrophy(SMA)is caused by dysfunction of the alpha motor neurons of the spinal *** is an autosomal recessive disease associated to the SMN1 gene,located in the subtelomeric region of 5q13.A paralog SMN2 gene is located at the centromeric region of the same chromosome,which apparently originated by an ancestral inverted duplication occurring only in *** exon sequence differs in two nucleotides in exon 7 and exon 8,which leads to an SMN2 transcript that lacks exon 7 and results in a truncated ***(10%)of the SMN2 transcripts avoids the splicing of exon 7 but most of the copies are *** a disease scenario,the more SMN2 copies the higher possibility to restore at least partly the effects of SMN1 *** therapeutic approaches are being developed to increase the expression of *** determine the number of SMN1 and SMN2 copies,the methodology must distinguish accurately between both *** this work,we present the results obtained using multiplex ligation-dependent probe amplification(MLPA)in 60 SMA suspected patients/carriers derived from different regions of *** 32 of these DNA samples we found alterations in *** these,16 presented a heterozygous deletion(carrier status)and 14 an homozygous deletion(patient status)in exon 7 and 8 of *** one case,exon 7 was found homozygously deleted but exon 8 presented a single copy,and in another case,exon 7 was found heterozygously deleted while exon 8 was *** half of the patients(7/15)presented a normal diploid number of SMN2 while the other half(8/15)presented an increased *** this work we showed how a probe-based methodology such as MLPA was able to distinguish between the paralog genes and determine the amount of copies in DNA samples from suspected patients/carriers of SMA.

Environmental contamination with some metalloids and heavy metals(M/HM)raises concern due to well known adverse effects on *** these pollutants,chromium VI(Cr VI),cadmium(Cd)and arse-nic(As)are frequently present as a result of natural sources or due to industrial *** are able to easily enter the organism and negatively affect many organs and *** vivo(exposure to Cr VI,Cd or As through drinking water)and in vitro experiments(primary pituitary cell cultures)were performed in male Wistar rats to address their actions on hypothalamus-pituitary *** the M/HM accumulated in hypothalamus and pi-tuitary gland and decreased pituitary cell viability and prolactin release mostly by generation of reactive oxygen species,since it was partially prevented by antioxidant *** the pituitary,they increased lipid peroxy-dation and the expression of several oxidative stress *** death was mainly due to caspase-dependent ***(prolactin-secreting cells)were the most affected pituitary ***-driven cell death was also partially calcium-and ***,Cd stimulated the production of low levels of nitric oxide which exerted cytoprotective *** results showed that these M/HM display deleterious actions in hypothalamic-pituitary physiology by altering hormone release and promoting cell death.

Effects of chlorpyrifos on enzymatic systems of Cydia pomonella （Lepidoptera： Tortricidae） adults

The control program of codling moth （Cydia pomonella L.） in the Rio Negro and Neuqu6n Valley is intended to neonate larvae. However, adults may be subjected to sublethal pesticide concentrations generating stress which might enhance both mutation rates and activity of the detoxification system. This study assessed the exposure effects of chlorpyrifos on target enzyme and, both detoxifying and antioxidant systems of surviving adults from both a laboratory susceptible strain （LSS） and a field population （FP）. The results showed that the FP was as susceptible to chlorpyrifos as the LSS and, both exhibited a similar chlorpyrifos-inhibitory concentration 50 （IC50） of acetylcholinesterase （ACHE）. The FP displayed higher carboxylesterase （CarE） and 7-ethoxycoumarine O-deethylase （ECOD） activities than LSS. Both LSS and FP showed an increase on CarE activity after the exposure to low-chlorpyrifos concentrations, followed by enzyme inhibition at higher concentrations. There were no significant differences neither in the activities of glutathione S-transferases （GST）, catalase （CAT） and superoxide dismutase （SOD） nor in the reduced glutathione （GSH） content between LSS and FP. Moreover, these enzymes were unaffected by chlorpyrifos. In conclusion, control adults from the FP exhibited higher CarE and ECOD activities than control adults from the LSS. AChE and CarE activities were the most affected by chlorpyrifos. Control strategies used for C. pomonella, such as rotations of insecticides with different modes of action, will probably delay the evolution of insecticide resistance in FPs from the study area.
