Social determinants of health(SDOH)affect quality of *** investigated SDOH impacts on self-perceived resilience among people with adult congenital heart disease(ACHD).Secondary analysis of data from two com-plementary studies:a survey study conducted may 2021–June 2022 and a qualitative study conducted June 2020–August *** was assessed through CD-RISC10 score(range 0–40,higher scores reﬂect greater self-perceived resilience)and interview *** and SDOH(education,employment,living situa-tion,monetary stability,ﬁnancial dependency,area deprivation index)data were collected by healthcare record review and *** used linear regression with robust standard errors to analyze survey data and performed a thematic analysis of interview *** participants(N=127)mean age was 42±14 years;51%were female,87%*** was moderate(75%)or complex(25%);41%functional class C or ***(mean 30±7)varied by monetary stability:compared to people with difﬁculty paying bills,resilience was 15.0 points higher(95%CI:6.9–23.1,pmoney and 14.2 points higher(95%CI:5.9–22.4,p=0.001)for those reporting just enough *** participants’(N=25)mean age was 32 years(range 22–44);52%were female,72%*** was moderate(56%)or complex(44%);76%functional class C or *** discussed factors affecting resilience aligned with each of the major SDOH,prominently,economic stability and healthcare access and *** stability may be important for supporting self-perceived resi-lience in *** knowledge can inform the development of resilience interventions for this population.

Foraging valor linked with aggression:selection against completely abandoning aggression in the high-elevation ant Tetramorium alpestre?

Aggression has multiple benefits and is often coupled with other behaviors("behavioral syndromes").The level of aggressiveness is influenced by an adaptive benefit-cost ratio suggesting that benefits should outweigh the costs of ***,we assess if several behaviors are coupled in two behaviorally different populations(aggressive,peaceful)of the high-elevation ant Tetramorium *** three weeks,we collected colony fragments and analyzed boldness,exploring,foraging,and risk-taking *** hypothesized that the aggressive population is bolder,more explorative and risk-prone,and forages more food than the peaceful *** test whether(a)the combination of experiments and parameters used yields a good setup,(b)populations differ behaviorally,and(c)populations display behavioral syndromes,we assessed(a)the frequency of repeatable behaviors of each experiment,(b)the behavioral means among populations,and(c)the behavioral repeatability,*** found that(a)boldness and exploring were most repeatable and represent a good experimental setup,(b)the aggressive population was bolder and more explorative and risk-prone than the peaceful population,(c)boldness and exploring behaviors were highly repeatable in both populations,thus corroborating our *** results suggest that boldness,exploring,and risk-taking but not foraging are presumably coupled with aggression and indicate the presence of behavioral syndromes in this *** specific ecological conditions,aggression may be coupled with other behaviors and important for finding *** is probably adaptive in ***,possibly indicating that selection favors aggression at least partially,which may counteract the complete loss of intraspecific aggression.

At a time when there is a growing public interest in animal welfare,it is critical to have objective means to assess the way that an animal experiences a *** is critical to ensure appropriate animal welfare *** behavioural,physiological,and neurobiological indicators that are used to assess animal welfare can verify the absence of extremely negative *** welfare is more than an absence of negative outcomes and an appropriate indicator should reflect the full spectrum of experience of an animal,from negative to *** this review,we draw from the knowledge of human biomedical science to propose a list of candidate biological markers(biomarkers)that should reflect the experiential state of non-human *** proposed biomarkers can be classified on their main function as endocrine,oxidative stress,non-coding molecular,and thermobiological *** also discuss practical challenges that must be addressed before any of these biomarkers can become useful to assess the experience of an animal in real-life.

R&D Effort at NSCL with the Off-line ECR Ion Source ARTEmIS-B

This paper reviews recent experimental work done with the off line source ARTEmIS-B at the *** source was built during the year 2005 and provides opportunities for off line development that can benefit the Coupled Cyclotron Facility(CCF)operation while minimizing the time taken away from the nuclear experimental *** Artemis-B setup includes many beam diagnostics and a detailed description of the emittance scanner(Allison)and emittance measurement method is presented.A first beam dynamics study indicates that the analysis magnet has strong field aberrations and that the beam size in the dipole must be small in order to avoid significant beam brightness degradation.A second study compares beam brightness for different focusing systems between the ECR ion source and the analyzing *** electrostatic devices:a quadrupole triplet and a double quadrupole doublet have been tested successively and compared to a magnetic focusing *** experimental results tend to indicate a better beam brightness at smaller emittance for the electrostatic devices,although emittances measured for each focusing element were for a large part dependant on the tuning procedure developed to minimize the effects of the analyzing magnet.

Beam Dynamics Studies of ECR Injections for the Coupled Cyclotron Facility at NSCL

The Coupled Cyclotron Facility (CCF) has been operating at the NSCL since 2001,providing up to 160meV/u heavy ion beams for nuclear physics *** steps,particularly the improvement of the ECR-to-K500 injection line,were taken to improve the CCF *** that purpose an off-line ECR source,ARTEmIS-B,was built and used to investigate the impact on beam brightness under various source operating conditions,different initial focusing systems and current analysis *** dynamics simulations including space-charge and 3D electrostatic field effects were performed and beam diagnostics including emittance scanner were used,leading to a better understanding of the CCF beam injection process. New initial electrostatic focusing elements such as a large-bore quadrupole triplet and a quadrupole double- doublet with compensating octupole were tested,and a new beam tuning procedure was established to improve the beam brightness for the *** these efforts,a significant increase of primary beam power out of the CCF has been achieved.

传统的干线交流传动车辆大多在牵引电路中带有牵引变压器,牵引变压器体积大、成本高且损耗大,尤其是在15kV/16.7Hz电网供电条件下。本文介绍的是可减少牵引电路的重量和尺寸、提高效率的一种全新的无变压器结构。在网侧,串联连接的电压型变流器通过平波电抗器直接与电网相连。这导致直流环节有不同的电位,因此需要引入一种新的电动机概念。采用了带有3个独立三相绕组的3星型异步电动机,其三相绕组由接在不同电位的3个三相逆变器供电,这就需要用这种3星型异步电动机的新型控制结构。
