In seropositive rheumatoid arthritis(RA),the onset of clinically apparent inflammatory arthritis(IA)is typically preceded by a prolonged period of autoimmunity manifest by the presence of circulating autoantibodies that can include antibodies to citrullinated protein antigens(ACPA)and rheumatoid *** period before clinical IA can be designated preclinical RA in those individuals who have progressed to a clinical diagnosis of RA,and an“at‐risk”status in those who have not developed IA but exhibit predictive biomarkers of future clinical *** the goal of developing RA prevention strategies,studies have characterized immune phenotypes of preclinical RA/at-risk *** these studies,a model has emerged wherein mucosal inflammation and dysbiosis may lead first to local autoantibody production,which should normally be transient,but instead is followed by a systemic spread of the autoimmunity as manifested by serum autoantibody elevations,ultimately driving the development of clinically identified joint *** model can be envisioned as the progression of disease development through serial“checkpoints”that in principle should constrain or resolve autoimmunity;however,instead,the checkpoints“fail”and clinical RA *** we review the immune processes that are likely to be present at each step and the potential therapeutic strategies that could be envisioned to delay,diminish,halt,or even reverse the progression to clinical ***,these prevention strategies could utilize existing therapies approved for clinical RA,therapies approved for other diseases that target relevant pathways in the preclinical/at-risk state,or approaches that target novel pathways.

Treating refractory depression in Parkinson’s disease:a meta-analysis of transcranial magnetic stimulation

Background:Parkinson’s disease(PD)is often accompanied by clinically identified *** effective pharmacotherapies that concomitantly treat both motor and psychological symptoms can pose a challenge to *** this reason,alternatives to standard anti-depressant treatments,such as repetitive transcranial magnetic stimulation(rTMS),have been evaluated within the Parkinson’s ***:A literature search was conducted on the PubMed database for all studies that evaluated rTMS as a treatment in patients with both depression and PD.A meta-analysis was performed on all studies that reported mean pre-and post-rTMS depression inventory *** used depression inventories included both self-report and clinician-administered *** size for individual study groups and across all studies was ***:Six of 7 studies meeting inclusion criteria reported significantly improved depression scores,large effect sizes,and significant *** weighted average effect size was calculated at 1.32 across all study groups that applied ***:Across all but one study,rTMS appears to effectively reduce depression scores among self-reported and clinician administered *** total weight average effect size showed that,when considering study sample sizes and degree of findings,this form of neurostimulation can relieve PD patients of their depressive ***,rTMS is a promising alternative to traditional anti-depressant therapies when treating refractory depression in patients with PD.

Validating Academic Training versus Organizational Training： An Analysis in the Enterprise Resource Planning （ERP） Field

ERP (enterprise resource planning) systems are packaged software applications that support most of an organization"s informational needs within and across functional areas of the organization. Modern ERP systems serve as the foundation for a wide range of e-business models within one company, as well as throughout the value chain. This study explored industry ERP training of employees new to ERP, and compared this latter group to college students prepared with ERP skills from a college ERP class. The students remotely accessed the ERP systems featured here for class requirements. University and industry collaborations allow for a hands-on experience in the classroom that replicates industry applications by using real world tools. This synergistic relationship provides opportunities for students to acquire knowledge using a tangible tool that imitates what is utilized in the industry. The study noted that schools supported by several ERP vendor initiatives are increasingly integrating enterprise systems in their curricula. The resultant data identifies pertinent information that businesses consider valuable in their employees" ERP training. This noteworthy correlation, between college prepared students and employees new to ERP who have gone through ERP training, examined case studies of students who are now in the workforce. This study exposes these students" distinct advantage because of their ERP learning experience, and compares it to companies" ERP training practices. The intent, as in any educational environment, is not only to help students attain an understanding of the material, but to also master that material in the environment in which they will be required to use it.
