Improved Prediction of Slope Stability under Static and Dynamic Conditions Using Tree-BasedModels

Slope stability prediction plays a significant role in landslide disaster prevention and mitigation.This paper’s reduced error pruning(REP)tree and random tree(RT)models are developed for slope stability evaluation and meeting the high precision and rapidity requirements in slope engineering.The data set of this study includes five parameters,namely slope height,slope angle,cohesion,internal friction angle,and peak ground acceleration.The available data is split into two categories:training(75%)and test(25%)sets.The output of the RT and REP tree models is evaluated using performance measures including accuracy(Acc),Matthews correlation coefficient(Mcc),precision(Prec),recall(Rec),and F-score.The applications of the aforementionedmethods for predicting slope stability are compared to one another and recently established soft computing models in the literature.The analysis of the Acc together with Mcc,and F-score for the slope stability in the test set demonstrates that the RT achieved a better prediction performance with(Acc=97.1429%,Mcc=0.935,F-score for stable class=0.979 and for unstable case F-score=0.935)succeeded by the REP tree model with(Acc=95.4286%,Mcc=0.896,F-score stable class=0.967 and for unstable class F-score=0.923)for the slope stability dataset The analysis of performance measures for the slope stability dataset reveals that the RT model attains comparatively better and reliable results and thus should be encouraged in further research.

Liquefaction is one of the most destructive phenomena caused by earthquakes,which has been studied in the issues of potential,triggering and hazard analysis.The strain energy approach is a common method to investigate liquefaction potential.In this study,two Artificial Neural Network(ANN)models were developed to estimate the liquefaction resistance of sandy soil based on the capacity strain energy concept(W)by using laboratory test data.A large database was collected from the literature.One group of the dataset was utilized for validating the process in order to prevent overtraining the presented model.To investigate the complex influence of fine content(FC)on liquefaction resistance,according to previous studies,the second database was arranged by samples with FC of less than 28%and was used to train the second ANN model.Then,two presented ANN models in this study,in addition to four extra available models,were applied to an additional 20 new samples for comparing their results to show the capability and accuracy of the presented models herein.Furthermore,a parametric sensitivity analysis was performed through Monte Carlo Simulation(MCS)to evaluate the effects of parameters and their uncertainties on the liquefaction resistance of soils.According to the results,the developed models provide a higher accuracy prediction performance than the previously publishedmodels.The sensitivity analysis illustrated that the uncertainties of grading parameters significantly affect the liquefaction resistance of soils.

应力强度因子是预测荷载作用下结构中裂纹产生和扩展的重要参数。半解析的比例边界有限元法结合了有限元和边界元法的优势,在裂纹尖端或存在奇异应力的区域不需要局部网格细化,可以直接提取应力强度因子。在比例边界有限元法计算应力强度因子的框架下,引入随机参数进行蒙特卡罗模拟(Monte Carlo simulation, MCS),并提出一种新颖的基于MCS的不确定量化分析。与直接的MCS不同,采用奇异值分解构造低阶的子空间,降低系统的自由度,并使用径向基函数对子空间进行近似,通过子空间的线性组合获得新的结构响应,实现基于MCS的快速不确定量化分析。考虑不同荷载状况下,结构形状参数和材料属性参数对应力强度因子的影响,使用改进的MCS计算应力强度因子的统计特征,量化不确定参数对结构的影响。最后通过若干算例验证了该算法的准确性和有效性。

高海拔低压低氧环境威胁着急进和久居高原汉族人群的身体健康,预防因低压低氧引起的急慢性高原病是高原医学研究的重点方向。姜黄素是中药姜黄根茎中提取出的主要有效成分,具有广泛的药理作用。已有大量细胞与动物研究显示,姜黄素在低压低氧环境下对组织器官和细胞损伤发挥保护作用,但其在高原低压低氧环境下对人体各系统器官的保护作用及机制尚不明确。本文综述了低压低氧环境下姜黄素对呼吸系统、神经系统、心血管系统、骨骼肌系统的保护作用和可能机制,为其进一步在极端地区实验/试验和未来在健康食品、药品方向的研发提供有益的参考及一定的理论依据。

截断墙法能减小地震过程中因地基液化导致的地下结构上浮,但难以防止地震结束后由超孔压消散引起的结构上浮。此外,已有研究未考虑竖向地震对抗上浮效果的影响。因此,在截断墙的基础上增设抗拔梁与碎石土层,采用有限元-有限差分耦合方法,分析了改进截断墙的最优参数设计及在双向地震下的响应规律。结果表明:设置碎石土层在震后的抗浮效果明显,抗拔梁的搭接长度为1.5 m时足以防止结构上浮;强震下截断墙法只能在一定程度上抑制结构上浮,在震后的上浮量也较大,而改进的截断墙法在震中能有效地抑制结构上浮,在震后结构基本不上浮;设置改进的截断墙能在一定程度上减轻地震过程中车站结构所受的内力。

Influencing Factors on Cardiovascular Health in China

The Annual Report on Cardiovascular Health and Diseases in China(2022)intricate landscape of cardiovascular health in China.This is the first section of the report,which dissects influential factors across diverse domains.The investigation identifies tobacco use as a paramount concern,portraying China as the global epicenter of tobacco consumption.Cigarette smoking,exacerbated by second-hand smoke exposure,emerges as a critical and preventable risk factor,contributing to a surge in attributable deaths over the past three decades.In the realm of dietary nutrition,the study discerns an overall improvement,yet discerns worrisome deviations,notably an escalating fat intake surpassing recommended guidelines.The shifting dietary structure reveals diminished consumption of cereals and vegetables juxtaposed with an uptick in animal foods,while excessive intake of cooking oil and salt persists,straying substantially from endorsed levels.The exploration of physical activity patterns unfolds a nuanced narrative.Varied trends are observed among students,with concerns arising from sedentary behaviors and inadequate adherence to recommended guidelines.The analysis spans a trajectory of declining physical activity in Chinese adults,coupled with an alarming surge in sedentary leisure time,ultimately linking these factors to heightened risks of cardiovascular diseases and increased adiposity.An examination of overweight and obesity trends uncovers a relentless upward trajectory,projecting substantial prevalence by 2030.Noteworthy prevalence rates underscore the imperative for targeted interventions to curtail this burgeoning health crisis,with the anticipated prevalence extending to nearly two-thirds of the adult population.Psychological factors,notably depression,constitute an integral facet of cardiovascular health.Prevalence rates among patients with coronary artery disease and acute myocardial infarction underscore the intricate interplay between mental health and cardiovascular outcomes.Additionally,persistent depressive sym

Unusual Single Electron Transfer Reactions between Alkenes and Iodine Electrophiles

The electrophilic addition to an alkene with an electrophile has been widely studied and applied in organic synthesis.The organic chemistry textbook describes the classical reaction between an alkene and an iodine electrophile(such as elemental iodine and N-iodosuccinimide(NIS))as a typical ionic reaction,in which an iodonium ion is formed and then attacked by a nucleophile.However,in this article,we report a new and unusual reaction mode between an alkene and NIS;that is,a single electron transfer(SET)process occurs between these two reactants by forming an electron-donor acceptor complex.Not only does this unusual single electron transfer reaction between an alkene and NIS add fundamentally important knowledge to organic chemistry,it also provides a valuable synthetic method as the new SET reaction mode with opposite regioselectivity as compared with the traditional ionic mode.

The triboelectric nanogenerator(TENG)can effectively collect energy based on contact electrification(CE)at diverse interfaces,including solid–solid,liquid–solid,liquid–liquid,gas–solid,and gas–liquid.This enables energy harvesting from sources such as water,wind,and sound.In this review,we provide an overview of the coexistence of electron and ion transfer in the CE process.We elucidate the diverse dominant mechanisms observed at different interfaces and emphasize the interconnectedness and complementary nature of interface studies.The review also offers a comprehensive summary of the factors influencing charge transfer and the advancements in interfacial modification techniques.Additionally,we highlight the wide range of applications stemming from the distinctive characteristics of charge transfer at various interfaces.Finally,this review elucidates the future opportunities and challenges that interface CE may encounter.We anticipate that this review can offer valuable insights for future research on interface CE and facilitate the continued development and industrialization of TENG.
