Chinese yam(Dioscorea opposita Thunb.),as one of the medicinal and edible homologous plants,is rich in various nutrients and functional *** this study,Chinese yam fermented by Saccharomyces boulardii was performed to investigate its bioactive components and metabolic *** then,the main bioactive components and biological activities of fermented Chinese yam ethanol extract(FCYE)were *** showed that there were 49 up-regulated metabolites and 52 down-regulated metabolites in fermented Chinese yam compared to unfermented Chinese ***,corresponding metabolic pathways analysis initially revealed that the distribution of bioactive substances was concentrated on alcoholsoluble small molecular ***,the total polyphenol content and the total flavonoid content in FCYE were significantly increased,and the corresponding antioxidant and immunomodulatory activities in vitro were also significantly *** study provided a new reference for the comprehensive utilization of Chinese yam and laid a theoretical foundation for the development and application of natural probiotic-fermented products.

It is well known that exposure to environmental stresses could enhance the adaptability of bacteria and up-regulate the expression of a variety of oxidative stress-related genes and antioxidant *** is unclear whether the adaptability of microorganisms formed naturally in special environments could transfer to other *** study aimed to evaluate the effects of untreated and ethanol-induced Lactococcus lactis intracellular extracts(U-IE and E-IE)on alcohol metabolism in *** positive effects of E-IE on alcohol metabolism in mice were revealed by the enhanced latency of loss of righting reflex(LORR),the reduced duration of LORR,the decrease of blood alcohol concentration,as well as the elevation of alcohol dehydrogenase(ADH)activities in the stomach and liver ***,the potential benefits of E-IE on the liver were evaluated by biochemical parameters including the activities of serum transaminase,the levels of antioxidant enzymes,and the pathological changes of liver *** present work put forward a new point that appropriate ethanol stress could enhance the intracellular ADH activity of ***,and its intracellular extracts could continue to enhance alcohol metabolism in mice.

Sulfate reducing bacteria(SRB)are widely present in oil and gas industry,causing pitting corrosion on pipeline *** corrosion cracking(SCC)often occurs in the presence of mechanical stress before pit-ting perforation failure,leading to economic losses and even catastrophic *** this study,stress distribution simulation using the finite element method(FEM),corrosion analysis techniques and elec-trochemical corrosion measurements were employed to investigate the SCC mechanism of X80 pipeline steel caused by Desulfovibrio vulgaris,which is a common SRB strain used in microbiologically influenced corrosion(MIC)*** was found that *** MIC caused sharp microcracks on an X80 U-bend coupon after only 2 weeks of immersion at 37℃in the deoxygenated ATCC 1249 culture medium inocu-lated with *** X80 U-bend coupon’s weight loss-based uniform corrosion rate for the 12 cm^(2)surface was 60%of that for the unstressed flat square coupon(2.3 mg cm^(−2)vs.3.8 mg cm^(−2)).This was likely because the square coupon had wide MIC pits,providing a larger effective surface area for more sessile cells(4.2×10^(8)cells cm^(−2)on square coupon vs.2.4×10^(8)cells cm^(−2)on U-bend coupon)to attach and harvest more *** SCC failure occurred on an X80 U-bend pre-cracked at the outer bottom after a 6-week immersion in the *** *** from MIC damage,this could also be because *** metabolism increased the availability hydrogen atoms on the steel surface,and promoted the diffusion of hydrogen atoms into the metal lattice,thus increasing the brittleness of the steel.

Modifi cation of wheat bran insoluble and soluble dietary fibers with snail enzyme

Insoluble dietary fiber(IDF)and soluble dietary fiber(SDF)extracted from wheat bran were modifi ed by snail enzyme and their physicochemical properties(water retention capacity and oil retention capacity),functional properties(cholesterol adsorption capacity,glucose adsorption capacity and antioxidant activity)and structural characterizations were *** results showed that snail enzyme modification led to the significant increase in oil retention capacity of IDF,glucose adsorption capacity and cholesterol adsorption capacity of IDF and *** modification also markedly improved the DPPH radical scavenging capacity and reducing power of IDF and ***,scanning electron microscopy(SEM)analysis indicated the microstructures of IDF and SDF powders were signifi cantly *** transfer-infrared spectrometry(FT-IR)showed that snail enzyme modifi cation could degrade the part of cellulose and hemicellulose of IDF and *** these improved physicochemical and functional properties of IDF and SDF might depend on their structural *** suggested that snail enzyme modifi cation could effectively improve physicochemical and functional properties of IDF and SDF from wheat bran.

Purpose:The most popular surgical approach to manage Lisfranc fracture-dislocations is the double-incision approach,which frequently causes a variety of complications,such as skin necrosis,rotational malreduction of the first tarsometatarsal joint(TMTJ)and lateral column dorsoplantar malreduction of the *** introduce a three-incision approach to treat Lisfranc fracture-dislocations with only minor postoperative complications and good foot ***:We prospectively selected 30 previously healthy patients,ranging from 18 to 60 years of age,but only 23 patients completed the follow-up and thus were finally included,with an average age of 38.1±12.9 *** patients have sustained Lisfranc fracture-dislocations involving all three-column;13.0%(3/23)were Myerson classification type A(medial),47.8%(11/23)were type A(lateral),and 39.1%(9/23)were type *** patients were treated via a three-incision approach:a long incision made along the lateral border of the second ray was used as a working incision to visualize and reduce the first three TMTJs,as well as to apply internal fixation instrumentation;a 2 cm medial incision was made at the medial side of the first TMTJ as an inspecting incision,ensuring good reduction of the first TMTJ in medial and plantar view;another 1 cm inspecting incision was made at the dorsal side of the fourth/fifth TMTJ to prevent sagittal subluxation of the lateral ***±SD was used for quantitative data such as operation time,follow-up time and foot function *** complications were documented,and foot function was evaluated using the American orthopaedic foot&ankle society score,foot function index and Maryland foot score at *** foot function of the injured foot and contralateral foot of the same patient was at the end of follow-up,and independent samplet-test was used for statistical ***:The median operation time was 117.9±14.6 min(range 93-142 min).All complications occurred within three

In order to overcome hypoxia induced sickness, a stable source of anti-hypoxia functional agents, Sehizophyllum commune fermented broth has been developed in this study. Animal experiments were conducted to examine its anti-hypoxia activities and possible mechanisms involved. The acute hypoxic experiment showed that Sehizophyllum commune fermented broth could significantly prolong the survival time of mice. The underlying mechanisms were associated with improved energy metabolism based on a study carried out in rats exposed to a low pressure chamber simulating the low pressure environment of 8 000 m altitude. It was concluded that the Schizophyllum commune fermented broth was an effective anti-hypoxia functional agent and could be greatly bene- ficial to those living and working at high altitudes, such as people who reside in the reconstruction regions of Yushu.

目的探讨水中平板步行训练在脊髓损伤（SCI）大鼠康复中的作用及其与脊髓可塑性的关系.方法将40只成年雄性Sprague-Dawley大鼠分为假模组、模型对照组、水疗训练组、减重平板训练组及水中平板训练组,每组8只.建立大鼠脊髓挫伤模型,各训练组于术后1周开始进行8周的康复训练.采用BBB评分、爬网格试验评定大鼠后肢功能的恢复,采用免疫组织化学方法检测大鼠脊髓中脑源性神经营养因子（BDNF）、神经营养素-3（NT-3）的表达.结果水中平板训练组大鼠后肢运动功能较其他组明显改善（P＜0.05）.3个训练组大鼠脊髓前角神经元BDNF及NT-3的表达与模型对照组相比均显著增加（P＜0.05）.BDNF的表达在3个训练组之间两两比较,差异均无统计学意义（P＞0.05）.水中平板训练组NT-3的表达明显高于减重平板训练组（P＜0.05）;而水中平板训练组与水疗训练组相比,差异无统计学意义（P＞0.05）.结论水中平板训练可能通过影响BDNF及NT-3的表达增强脊髓损伤大鼠脊髓可塑性,促进后肢运动功能的恢复.

Purification and characterization of schizophyllan from Schizophyllum commune

The schizophyllan from Schizophyllum commune was purified and characterized. The crude schizo-phyllan was obtained from Schizophyllum commune fermentation broth by decoloration with activated carbon,followed by deproteinization with Sevag method and ethanol precipitation. The pure schizophyllan was obtained by gel filtration chromatography with Sephacryl S-500,and its molecular characteristics were examined. The result showed that the molecular weight was 3.8×104 ,and the schizophyllan consisted of glucose with β-(1→6)-glucosidic linkages.

The escalating utilization of nuclear energy and nuclear medicine raises concerns about the environmental impact of radioactive iodine, necessitating the development of effective iodine adsorbents, especially under a real-world scenario with extremely low iodine concentration and elevated temperature. Herein, we have presented the construction of a nitrogen-abundant two-dimensional（2D） halogen-bonded organic framework, XOF-TNP, characterized by exceptional crystallinity, thermal stability, and nitrogen-rich structures. XOF-TNP exhibits strong binding to iodine, thanks to the fact that iodine can be pre-enriched into the framework through N···I interactions. The nitrogen-rich framework and I+synergistically have extremely high binding force to iodine, enabling the rapid and efficient capture of iodine in both vapor and solution phases, with significant recyclability. Further flow-through adsorption experiments using an XOF-TNP-packed column achieve 99% iodine removal from hexane and aqueous solutions, surpassing traditional activated carbon. This highlights its potential for environmental remediation. XOFTNP enables the development of a novel rewritable security paper, utilizing its iodine adsorption properties to encrypt and decrypt QR codes. This research expands the application scope of halogen-bonded organic frameworks, providing insights into the design of materials for environmental remediation and security applications.

The non-edible crude rice bran oil was extracted from white rice bran, and then was catalyzed by immobilized lipase for biodiesel production in this study. The effects of water content, oil/methanol molar ratio, temperature, enzyme amount, solvent,number of methanol added times and two-step methanolysis by using Candida sp. 99-125 as catalyst were investigated. The optimal conditions for processing 1 g rice bran oil were: 0.2 g immobilized lipase, 2 ml n-hexane as solvent, 20% water based on the rice bran oil mass, temperature of 40 °C and two-step addition of methanol. As a result, the fatty acid methyl esters yield was 87.4%. The immobilized lipase was proved to be stable when it was used repeatedly for 7 cycles.
