Glycosylation is a process that involves the addition of sugar moieties or glycans to different types of molecules,including proteins,lipids,and nucleic *** these,protein glycosylation is one of the most prevalent forms of post-translational modification,playing a crucial role in biological *** more than ten monosaccharides identified within mammalian brain cells and more than 1×1012 possible combinations,the heterogeneity of glycosylation is extensive(Conroy et al.,2021).The diversity of glycans and the complexity of their structures allow for a wide range of protein functions.n-glycans are one of the most abundant forms of glycans and are involved in various cellular functions.n-glycans can be added to proteins at specific sequons,Asn-X-Ser/Thr,and are classified into three main types in mature glycoproteins:high mannose,complex,and *** mannose n-glycans consist of 5-9 mannose residues linked to a chitobiose core and undergo processing into complex or hybrid forms in the Golgi apparatus(Varki et al.,2017).Complex n-glycans are more diverse and contain various branched structures such as antennae with fucose,galactose,and sialic acid *** n-glycans contain one or more complex branches in conjunction with an oligomannose branch(Fisher and Ungar,2016).Understanding the specific functions of these different types of n-glycans in protein regulation,folding,and function is an active area of research in the life sciences,including glycobiology.

Antimony-doped tin oxide(ATO) nanoparticles with an average size of ～ 6 nm were prepared by co-precipitation and subsequent heat treatment. Graphitic carbon nitride(g-Cn)/ATO hybrid nanocomposite was designed by the combination of thermally synthesized g-Cn and ATO nanoparticles by ultrasonication. The materials were characterized using n2 adsorption/desorption(BET), X-ray diffraction(XRD), scanning electron microscopy(SEM), energy dispersive spectroscopy(EDS), transmission electron microscopy(TEM) and Fourier transform infrared spectroscopy(FTIR). A mixture of five volatile organic compounds(VOCs, chloroform, benzene, toluene, xylene and styrene) was used to compare the adsorption capacity of the samples. The adsorption capacity of ATO nanoparticles was improved by the addition of g-Cn. Experimental data showed that, among the five VOCs,chloroform was the least adsorbed, regardless of the samples. The g-Cn/ATO showed nearly three times greater adsorption capacity for the VOC mixture than pure ATO. The unchanged efficiency of VOC adsorption during cyclic use demonstrated the completely reversible adsorption and desorption behavior of the nanocomposite at room conditions. This economically and environmentally friendly material can be a practical solution for outdoor and indoor VOC removal.

Dear Editor, The introduction of intracytoplasmic sperm injection （ICSI） technology has revolutionised the treatment of patients with severe oligozoospermia and azoospermia. A patient is usually considered oligozoospermic if his sperm concentration is less than 20 million mL^-1. A patient is labelled azoospermic according to the World Health Organisation guideline , if, on two different occasions, no spermatozoa can be detected by high-power microscopy after the seminal fluid has been centrifuged for 15 min at a centrifugation force of 3 000 × g or greater.

One of the primary features of nano-indentation technique is that the contact area induced by an indenter is indirectly measured by a relationship between the penetration depth and the known geometry of the ***,this indirect measurement occasionally leads to inaccurate properties of the indented *** objective of this study is to investigate the effects of E/σr and the strain hardening exponents n of materials on the behaviors of pile-up and sink-in in nano-indentation and to predict n values of materials from the residual indentation *** relations between the residual indentation profile and n value of the indented material were identified by dimensional ***,they were numerically formulated using FE analysis of nano-indentation for 140 different combinations of elastic-plastic parameters such as E,σy and *** parameters of hrp/hm,herp/hm,Rr/hm and HO&P/Hreal were introduced as various dimensionless parameters to represent and quantify the residual indentation profile after *** were subsequently characterized as dimensionless functions using n and E/σr ***,the validity of these functions was verified through 3D FE analysis of nano-indentation for Al 6061-T6 and AISI 1010 materials.

Gastric cancer is one of the most common and fatal cancers. The importance of accurate staging for gastric cancer has become more critical due to the recent introduction of less invasive treatment options, such as endoscopic mucosal resection or laparoscopic surgery. The tumor-node-metastasis staging system is the generally accepted staging system for predicting the prognosis of patients with gastric cancer. Multidetector row computed tomography (MDCT) is a widely accepted imaging modality for the preoperative staging of gastric cancer that can simultaneously assess locoregional staging, including the gastric mass, regional lymph nodes, and distant metastasis. The diagnostic performance of MDCT for T- and n-staging has been improved by the technical development of isotropic imaging and 3D reformation. Although magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) was not previously used to evaluate gastric cancer due to the modality’s limitations, the development of high-speed sequences has made MRI a feasible tool for the staging of gastric cancer.

Patients who had undergone Kasai operations for biliary atresia were selected for the Kasai group, and patients with normal livers and spleens were selected for the control group. Two-dimensional spin-echo echoplanar MRE acquisition centered on the liver, with a pneumatic driver at 60 Hz and a low amplitude, was performed to obtain hepatic and splenic stiffness values. Laboratory results for aspartate aminotransferase to platelet ratio index(APRI) were evaluated within six months of MRE, and the normalized spleen size ratio was determined with the upper normal size limit.
