Severe immunosuppression is a hallmark of colorectal cancer(CRC).Myeloid-derived suppressor cells(MDSCs),one of the most abundant components of the tumor stroma,play an important role in the invasion,metastasis,and immune escape of *** create an immunosuppressive microenvironment by inhibiting the proliferation and activation of immunoreactive cells,including T and natural killer cells,as well as by inducing the proliferation of immunosuppressive cells,such as regulatory T cells and tumor-associated macrophages,which,in turn,promote the growth of cancer ***,MDSCs are key contributors to the emergence of an immunosup-pressive microenvironment in CRC and play an important role in the breakdown of antitumor *** this narrative review,we explore the mechanisms through which MDSCs contribute to the immunosuppressive microenvironment,the current therapeutic approaches and technologies targeting MDSCs,and the therapeutic potential of modulating MDSCs in CRC *** study provides ideas and methods to enhance survival rates in patients with CRC.

Thermal recovery techniques for producing oil sands have substantial environmental impacts. Surfactants can efficiently improve thermal bitumen recovery and reduce the required amount of steam. Such a technique requires solid knowledge about the interaction mechanism between surfactants, bitumen,water, and rock at the nanoscale level. In particular, oil sands ores have extremely complex mineralogy as they contain many clay minerals(montmorillonite, illite, kaolinite). In this study, molecular dynamics simulation is carried out to elucidate the unclear mechanisms of clay minerals contributing to the bitumen recovery under a steam-anionic surfactant co-injection process. We found that the clay content significantly influenced an oil detachment process from hydrophobic quartz surfaces. Results reveal that the presence of montmorillonite, illite, and the siloxane surface of kaolinite in nanopores can enhance the oil detachment process from the hydrophobic surfaces because surfactant molecules have a stronger tendency to interact with bitumen and quartz. Conversely, the gibbsite surfaces of kaolinite curb the oil detachment process. Through interaction energy analysis, the siloxane surfaces of kaolinite result in the most straightforward oil detachment process. In addition, we found that the clay type presented in nanopores affected the wettability of the quartz surfaces. The quartz surfaces associated with the gibbsite surfaces of kaolinite show the strongest hydrophilicity. By comparing previous experimental findings with the results of molecular dynamics(MD) simulations, we observed consistent wetting characteristics. This alignment serves to validate the reliability of the simulation outcomes. The outcome of this paper makes up for the lack of knowledge of a surfactant-assisted bitumen recovery process and provides insights for further in-situ bitumen production engineering designs.

QoS-Aware Computation Offloading in LEO Satellite Edge Computing for IoT:A Game-Theoretical Approach

Liquid-liquid phase separation(LLPS) is an important mechanism of how cells rapidly and reversibly compartmentalize their components into membraneless organelles to mediate diverse biological *** studies have revealed a critical role of phase separation in the condensation of misfolded and ubiquitin-positive proteins and their degradation by ***,how phase separation participates in autophagy of dysfunctional mitochondria(mitophagy)remains *** previously discovered that nuclear receptor Nur77(also called TR3,NGFI-B,or NR4 A1) translocates from the nucleus to mitochondria to mediate celastrol-induced mitophagy through interaction with p62/***,we found that Nur77 underwent phase separation in nucleus,which was dependent on the N-terminal intrinsically disordered region(IDR).Celastrol,as the ligand of Nur77,promotes the phase separation of Nur77 through ubiquitin modification in the ligand binding domain(LBD) in the *** ubiquitinated Nur77 recruits p62/SQSTM1 to mitochondria,forming membrane-less condensates capable of sequestrating damaged ***,tethering clustered mitochondria to the autophagosomal membrane requires an additional interaction from the N-terminal intrinsically disordered region(IDR) of Nur77 with the N-terminal PB1 domain of p62/SQSTM1,which confers Nur77-p62/SQSTM1 condensates with the magnitude and *** results demonstrate how composite phase separations of Nur77 and p62/SQSTM1 coordinate to sequester damaged mitochondria and to connect targeted cargo to the autophagic machinery,providing mechanistic insight into mitophagy.

Low earth orbit(LEO) satellite edge computing can overcome communication difficulties in harsh environments, which lack the support of terrestrial communication infrastructure. It is an indispensable option for achieving worldwide wireless communication coverage in the future. To improve the quality-of-service(QoS) for Internet-of-things(IoT) devices, we combine LEO satellite edge computing and ground communication systems to provide network services for IoT devices in harsh environments. We study the QoS-aware computation offloading(QCO) problem for IoT devices in LEO satellite edge computing. Then we investigate the computation offloading strategy for IoT devices that can minimize the total QoS cost of all devices while satisfying multiple constraints, such as the computing resource constraint, delay constraint, and energy consumption constraint. We formulate the QoSaware computation offloading problem as a game model named QCO game based on the non-cooperative competition game among IoT devices. We analyze the finite improvement property of the QCO game and prove that there is a Nash equilibrium for the QCO game. We propose a distributed QoS-aware computation offloading(DQCO) algorithm for the QCO game. Experimental results show that the DQCO algorithm can effectively reduce the total QoS cost of IoT devices.

Achieving high‐precision extraction of sea islands from high‐resolution satellite remote sensing images is crucial for effective resource development and sustainable ***,achieving such accuracy for sea island extraction presents significant challenges due to the presence of extensive background interference.A more widely applicable noise‐tolerant matched filter(NTMF)scheme is proposed for sea island extraction based on the MF *** NTMF scheme effectively suppresses the background interference,leading to more accurate and robust sea island *** further enhance the accuracy and robustness of the NTMF scheme,a neural dynamics algorithm is supplemented that adds an error integration feedback term to counter noise interference during internal computer operations in practical *** comparative experiments were conducted on various remote sensing images of sea islands under different noisy working conditions to demonstrate the superiority of the proposed neural dynamics algorithm‐assisted NTMF *** experiments confirm the ad-vantages of using the NTMF scheme for sea island extraction with the assistance of neural dynamics algorithm.
