RNA-binding proteins(RBPs)-RNA networks have contributed to cancer *** RNAs(circRNAs)are considered as protein recruiters;nevertheless,the patterns of circRNA-protein interactions in colorectal cancer(CRC)are still *** bodies(PBs)formed through liquid-liquid phase separation(LLPS)are membrane-less organelles(MLOs)consisting of RBPs and *** evidence suggests a connection between PBs dynamics and cancer *** the increasingly acknowledged crucial role of RBPs and RNA in the accumulation and maintenance of MLOs,there remains a lack of specific research on the interactions between PBs-related RBPs and circRNAs in ***,we identify that MEX-3 RNA binding family member A(MEX3A),frequently upregulated in CRC tissues,predicts poorer patient *** MEX3A accelerates malignance and inhibits autophagy of CRC ***,MEX3A undergoes intrinsically disordered regions(IDRs)-dependent LLPS in the ***,circMPP6 acts as a scaffold to facilitate the interaction between MEX3A and PBs *** MEX3A/circMPP6 complex modulates PBs dynamic and promotes UPF-mediated phosphodiesterase 5A(PDE5A)mRNA degradation,consequently leading to the aggressive properties of CRC ***,CRC patients exhibiting high MEX3A expression and low PDE5A expression have the poorest overall *** findings reveal a collaboration between MEX3A and circMPP6 in the regulation of mRNA decay through triggering the PBs aggregation,which provides prognostic markers and/or therapeutic targets for CRC.

Clinical characteristics and risk factors of post-operative intestinal flora disorder following laparoscopic colonic surgery:A propensityscore-matching analysis

Efficacy of scleral-fixated 3-looped haptics intraocular lens implantation for surgical management of microspherophakia

AIM:To evaluate the safety and efficacy of scleral-fixated 3-looped haptics intraocular lens(IOL)implantation for surgical management of ***:A retrospective case series include 10 microspherophakic patients(15 eyes)who underwent lens removal plus a modified surgical treatment of scleral-fixated 3-looped haptics IOL *** primary outcomes involved visual acuity,intraocular pressure(IOP).Secondary outcomes were spherical equivalent(SE),anterior chamber depth(ACD),corneal endothelial cell density and postoperative ***:After a postoperative follow-up of 17.60±15.44mo,improved visual outcomes can be *** uncorrected distance visual acuity(UCVA)log MAR improved from 1.54±0.59 preoperatively to 0.51±0.35 postoperatively(P=0.001),and best corrected visual acuity(BCVA)log MAR improved from 0.97±0.91 preoperatively to 0.24±0.23 postoperatively(P=0.003).Moreover,the SE decreased from-9.58±7.47D preoperatively to-0.65±2.21 D postoperatively(P<0.001).In terms of safety profile,the average IOP decreased from 21.10±12.94 mm Hg preoperatively to 14.03±3.57 mm Hg postoperatively(P=0.044),and the previously elevated IOP of three eyes decreased to the normal *** ACD increased from 2.25±1.45 mm preoperatively to 3.35±0.39 mm postoperatively(P=0.017).The density of corneal endothelial cells did not change significantly after surgery(P=0.140).The posterior chamber IOLs were well centered and no severe complications were ***:Lens removal plus the modified surgical treatment of scleral-fixated 3-looped haptics IOL implantation can help in improvement of visual acuity,which can be regarded as a relative safe method for the surgical management of microspherophakia.

Construct a 3D microsphere of HMX/B/Al/PTFE to obtain the high energy and combustion reactivity

Metal(aluminum and boron)based energetic materials have been wildly applied in various fields including aerospace,explosives and micro-devices due to their high energy ***,the low combustion efficiency and reactivity of metal fuels,especially boron(B),severely limit their practical ***,multi-component 3D microspheres of HMX/B/Al/PTFE(HBA)have been designed and successfully prepared by emulsion and solvent evaporation method to achieve superior energy and combustion *** reactivity and energy output of HBA are systematically measured by ignitionburning test,constant-volume explosion vessel system and bomb *** to the increased interfacial contact and reaction area,HBA shows higher flame propagation rate,faster pressurization rate and larger combustion heat of 29.95 cm/s,1077 kPa/s,and 6164.43 J/g,which is 1.5 times,3.5 times,and 1.03 times of the physical mixed counterpart(HBA-P).Meanwhile,HBA also shows enhanced energy output and reactivity than 3D microspheres of HMX/B/PTFE(HB)resulting from the high reactivity of *** reaction mechanism of 3D microspheres is comprehensively investigated through combustion emission spectral and thermal analysis(TG-DSC-MS).The superior reactivity and energy of HBA originate from the surface etching of fluorine to the inert shell(Al_(2)O_(3) and B_(2)O_(3))and the initiation effect of Al to *** work offers a promising approach to design and prepare high-performance energetic materials for the practical applications.

pH-sensitive KHA/CMC-Fe^(3+)@CS hydrogel loading and the drug release properties of riboflavin

To improve drug utilization,reduce the drug administration frequency,increase the release time,and reduce the drug side effects in the human body,we prepared(KHA/CMC-Fe^(3+))@CS hydrogel spheres using green and natural potassium humate(KHA),carboxymethyl cellulose(CMC),and chitosan(CS)as raw materials and Fe3+as a crosslinking agent,and loaded them with riboflavin for drug sustainedrelease study using the drop ball *** tests with FTIR,SEM,TG,and X-ray diffractometer showed that the coordination among KHA,CMC,and Fe^(3+)formed a three-dimensional network structure,where cs was encapsulated on the surface of the hydrogel spheres via noncovalent bonding,resulting in good thermal *** stability,drug loading,swelling,and in vitro release of the(KHA/CMC-Fe^(3+))@CS hydrogel spheres were *** results showed that the hydrogel spheres were significantly pH-sensitive,with 11.16 g/g higher swelling in an alkaline environment(pH=7.4)than that in an acidic environment(pH=1.2).The swelling and drug release process of the hydrogel spheres were analyzed using mathematical models,concluding that the hydrogel swelling follows Schott second-order swelling kinetics,and the drug release mechanism was Fickian delivery mode.

The genome-wide meiotic recombination landscape in ciliates and its implications for crossover regulation and genome evolution

Meiotic recombination is essential for sexual reproduction and its regulation has been extensively studied in many ***,genome-wide recombination landscape has not been reported in ciliates and it remains unknown how it is affected by the unique features of ciliates:the synaptonemal complex(SC)-independent meiosis and the nuclear ***,we show the recombination landscape in the model ciliate Tetrahymena thermophila by analyzing single-nucleotide polymorphism datasets from 38 hybrid *** detect 1021 crossover(CO)events(35.8 per meiosis),corresponding to an overall CO rate of 9.9 cM/***,gene conversion by non-crossover is rare(1.03 per meiosis)and not biased towards G or C *** with the reported roles of SC in CO interference,we find no obvious sign of CO *** tends to occur within germ-soma common genomic regions and many of the 44 identified CO hotspots localize at the centromeric or subtelomeric *** ontology analyses show that CO hotspots are strongly associated with genes responding to environmental *** discuss these results with respect to how nuclear dimorphism has potentially driven the formation of the observed recombination landscape to facilitate environmental adaptation and the sharing of machinery among meiotic and somatic recombination.

Infrared microspectroscopy beamline BL06B at SSRF

The infrared microspectroscopy beamline(BL06B) is a phase Ⅱ beamline project at the Shanghai Synchrotron Radiation Facility(SSRF). The construction and optical alignment of BL06B were completed by the end of 2020. By 2021, it became accessible to users. The synchrotron radiation infrared(SRIR) source included edge radiation(ER) and bending magnet radiation(BMR). The extracted angles in the horizontal and vertical directions were 40 and 20 mrad, respectively. The photon flux, spectral resolution, and focused spot size were measured at the BL06B endstation, and the experimental results were consistent with theoretical calculations. SRIR light has a small divergence angle, high brightness, and a wide wavelength range. As a source of IR microscopy, it can easily focus on a diffraction-limited spatial resolution with a high signal-to-noise ratio(SNR). The BL06B endstation can be applied in a wide range of research fields, including materials, chemistry, biology, geophysics, and pharmacology.
