In this paper,the authors consider the local well-posedness for the derivative Schrödinger equation in higher dimension ut-iΔu+|u|^(2)(→γ·▽u)+u^(2)(→λ·▽-u)=0,(x,t)∈R^(n)×R,→γ,→λ∈R^(n);n≥2 It is shown that the Cauchy problem of the derivative Schrödinger equation in higher dimension is locally well-posed in H^(s)(R^(n))(s>n/2)for any large initial *** this result can compare with that in one dimension except for the endpoint space H^(n/2).

Cobalt-rich ferromanganese is an important seafloor mineral and is abundantly present in the seamount crusts. Such crusts form potential hotspots for biogeochemical activity and microbial diversity, yet our understanding of their microbial communities is lacking. In this study, a cultivation-independent approach was used to recover genomic information and derive ecological functions of the microbes in a sediment sample collected from the cobalt-rich ferromanganese crust of a seamount region in the central Pacific. A total of 78 distinct clones were obtained by fosmid library screening with a 16S rRNA based PCR method. Proteobacteria and MGI Thaumarch-aeota dominated the bacterial and archaeal 16S rRNA gene sequence results in the microbial community. Nine fosmid clones were sequenced and annotated. Numerous genes encoding proteins involved in metabolic functions and heavy metal resistance were identified, suggesting alternative metabolic pathways and stress responses that are essential for microbial survival in the cobalt-rich ferromanganese crust. In addition, genes that participate in the synthesis of organic acids and exoploymers were discovered. Reconstruction of the metabolic pathways revealed that the nitrogen cycle is an important biogeochemical process in the cobalt-rich ferromanganese crust. In addition, horizontal gene transfer （HGT） events have been observed, and most of them came from bacteria, with some occurring in archaea and plants. Clone W4-93a, belonging to MGI Thaumarch-aeota, contained a region of gene synteny. Comparative analyses suggested that a high frequency of HGT events as well as genomic divergence play important roles in the microbial adaption to the deep-sea environment.

We are interested in the classical solutions to the Cauchy problem of relativistic Burgers equations evolving in Friedmann-Lemat?tre-Robertson-Walker(FLRW)space-times,which are spatially homogeneous,isotropic expanding or contracting *** such kind of space-times,we first derive the relativistic Burgers equations from the relativistic Euler equations by letting the pressure be *** we can show the global existence of the classical solution to the derived equation in the accelerated expanding space-times with small initial data by the method of characteristics when the spacial dimension n=1 and the energy estimate when n 2,***,we can also show the lifespan of the classical solution by similar methods when the expansion rate of the space-times is not so fast.

γ-MnO2 nanorod-assembled hierarchical micro-spheres with abundant oxygen defects are synthesized by a simple thermal treatment approach as oxygen reduction electrocatalysts for Al(aluminum)-air batteries. The rich oxygen vacancies on the surface of γ-MnO2 are verified by morphology, structure,electron paramagnetic resonance(EPR) and X-ray photoelectron spectroscopy(XPS) results. The oxygen reduction reaction(ORR) electrocatalytic activity of γ-MnO2 is significantly improved by the incoming oxygen vacancies. The γ-MnO2 nanorod-assembled hierarchical micro-spheres calcined under 300 °C in Ar atmosphere show the best ORR performance. The primary Al-air batteries using γ-MnO2 catalysts as the cathode, which demonstrates excellent peal power density of 318 m W cm^(-2) when applying theγ-MnO2 catalysts with optimal amount of oxygen vacancies.

As an important branch of biomedical engineering, respiratory mechanics helps to understand the physiology of the respiratory system and provides fundamental data for developing such clinical technologies as ventilators. To solve different clinical problems, researchers have developed numerous models at various scales that describe biological and mechanical properties of the respiratory system. During the past decade, benefiting from the continuous accumulation of clinical data and the dramatic progress of biomedical technologies （e.g. biomedical imaging）, the theoretical modeling of respiratory mechanics has made remarkable progress regarding the macroscopic properties of the respiratory process, complexities of the respiratory system, gas exchange within the lungs, and the coupling interaction between lung and heart. The present paper reviews the advances in the above fields and proposes potential future projects.

Cell adhesion and migration are basic physiolog- ical processes in living organisms. Cells can actively probe their mechanical micro-environment and respond to the ex- ternal stimuli through cell adhesion. Cells need to move to the targeting place to perform function via cell migration. For adherent cells, cell migration is mediated by cell-matrix adhesion and cell-cell adhesion. Experimental approaches, especially at early stage of investigation, are indispensable to studies of cell mechanics when even qualitative behaviors of cell as well as fundamental factors in cell behaviors are unclear. Currently, there is increasingly accumulation of ex- perimental data of measurement, thus a quantitative formula- tion of cell behaviors and the relationship among these fun- damental factors are highly needed. This quantitative under- standing should be crucial to tissue engineering and biomed- ical engineering when people want to accurately regulate or control cell behaviors from single cell level to tissue level. In this review, we will elaborate recent advances in the ex- perimental and theoretical studies on cell adhesion and mi- gration, with particular focuses laid on recent advances in experimental techniques and theoretical modeling, through which challenging problems in the cell mechanics are sug- gested.
