The saproxylic beetle assemblage associated with different host trees in Southwest China

Dead wood is a habitat for many insects and other small animals, some of which may be rare or endangered and in need of effective protection. In this paper, saproxylic beetle assemblages associated with different host trees in the subtropical forests in southwestern China were investigated. A total of 277 species （1 439 specimens） in 36 beetle families were collected from 117 dead wood samples, of which 101 samples were identified and respectively belonged to 12 tree genera. The number of saproxylic beetle species varied greatly among logs of different tree genera, with the highest diversity on logs of Juglans. Generally, broad-leaved trees had a higher richness and abundance of saproxylic species than coniferous trees. Cluster analysis revealed that assemblages from broad-leaved tree genera were generally similar （except for Betula） and assemblages from coniferous trees formed another distinct cluster. The subsequent indicator analysis proposed that there are different characteristic species for different cluster groups of host tree genera. In our study, log diameter has no positive influence on beetle species density. Conversely, comparisons of individual-based rarefaction curves suggested that beetle species richness was highest in the small diameter class both in coniferous and broad-leaved tree genera. With increased wood decay, proportion of habitat specialists （saproxylic beetles living on one tree genus） decreased, whereas proportion of habitat generalists （living on more than three tree genera） increased. The beetle species density was found to be higher in early stages, and decreased in later stages as well. A negative influence of altitude on saproxylic beetle species richness and abundance was detected. It was indicated that different tree genera and altitudes possibly display cross effects in modulating the altitudinal distribution and host preference of the beetles.

Photoactive complexes of nonprecious transition metals, mainly including those in the first-row and partially the second-row of the Periodic table of elements, have received increasing attention in view of their low cost and long-term sustainability. They are recognized as promising alternatives to noble transition metal complex congeners that have been extensively studied in optoelectronic devices, artificial photosynthesis, photocatalysis, biodiagnostics, and therapeutics, etc. This review is devoted to a comprehensive summary on the classical and recent advances on photoactive nonprecious transition metal complexes, including photoactive Zr, V, Cr, Mo, and W complexes, Mn complexes and hybrids, Fe, Co, Ni, and Cu complexes, and Zn and Cd complexes and hybrids. A particular focus is given on the molecular design, modulation of photophysical and photochemical properties, and applications of the representative and lately-developed nonprecious metal complexes. In addition, a perspective on the future development in this field is provided at the end of this review.

Liquid leakage of pipeline networks not only results in considerableresource wastage but also leads to environmental pollution and ecological *** response to this global issue, a bioinspired superhydrophobic thermoplastic polyurethane/carbon nanotubes/graphene nanosheets flexible strain sensor (TCGS) hasbeen developed using a combination of micro-extrusion compression molding andsurface modification for real-time wireless detection of liquid leakage. The TCGSutilizes the synergistic effects of Archimedean spiral crack arrays and micropores,which are inspired by the remarkable sensory capabilities of scorpions. This designachieves a sensitivity of 218.13 at a strain of 2%, which is an increase of 4300%. Additionally, it demonstrates exceptional durability bywithstanding over 5000 usage cycles. The robust superhydrophobicity of the TCGS significantly enhances sensitivity and stability indetecting small-scale liquid leakage, enabling precise monitoring of liquid leakage across a wide range of sizes, velocities, and compositionswhile issuing prompt alerts. This provides critical early warnings for both industrial pipelines and potential liquid leakage scenariosin everyday life. The development and utilization of bioinspired ultrasensitive flexible strain sensors offer an innovative and effectivesolution for the early wireless detection of liquid leakage.

Modeling Garment Seam from a Single Image

We propose an automatic garment seam modeling framework to create a garment model with the seam structure from a single image. In order to achieve this, a marked seam image database and parametric seam models have been set up. Given a real seam image, we first identify the type of the seam image based on our marked semn image database and the seam parameters are parsed automatically by our sewing thread estimation method. Second the seam initial model is generated through the pre-defined parametric seam models. A garment model with the seam structure is finally obtained based on the seam position infrmation which users have marked on the garment. Moreover. we verify the effectiveness of our method with numerous experiments.

Microstructure and texture evolution of cold-rolled deep-drawing steel sheet during annealing

In accordance with experimental results about the annealing microstructure and texture of cold-rolled deep- drawing sheet based on the compact strip production （CSP） process, a two-dimensional cellular automation simulation model, considering real space and time scale, was established to simulate recrystallization and grain growth during the actual batch annealing process. The simulation results show that pancaked grains form during recrystallization. （111} advantageous texture components become the main parts of the recrystallization texture. After grain growth, the pancaked grains coarsen gradually. The content of （111} advantageous texture components in the annealing texture increases from 55vo1% to 65vo1%; meanwhile, the contents of {112}〈110〉 and {100}〈110〉 texture components decrease by 4% and 8%, respectively, compared with the recrystallization texture. The simulation results of microstructure and texture evolution are also consistent with the experimental ones, proving the accuracy and usefulness of the model.

The topological Hall effect(THE) as a powerful probe for the experimental observation of topological spin textures, such as magnetic skyrmions, has been observed in a wide variety of distinct material systems. However, limited experimental observations have been reported for antiferromagnetic(AFM) materials. Here, the THE signals in the AFM state were observed in compensated ferrimagnetic thin films interfaced with heavy metals at the magnetization compensation temperature(TM).Ferrimagnetic CoTb thin films grown on Pt thin films were used in the experiments. The Co Tb films exhibited a magnetization compensation point at which the moments of Co and Tb sublattices canceled each other, giving rise to the AFM state. The temperature(T)-dependent Hall measurements showed anomalous Hall effect(AHE) and THE responses at T≠T_(M) but pure THE responses at T=T_(M). Control measurements and analyses suggest that the THE responses are associated with interfacial Dzyaloshinskii-Moriya interaction(DMI) rather than the overlapping of different AHE signals in the structure. This work presents the first-ever observation of interfacial DMI-induced THE in AFM metal trilayered systems and demonstrates a new approach for electrical reading of chiral spin textures in AFM thin film-based heterostructures.

We report the discovery of a peculiar X-ray transient,EP240408a,by Einstein Probe （EP） and follow-up studies made with EP,Swift,NICER,GROND,ATCA and other ground-based multiwavelength *** new transient was first detected with Wide-field X-ray Telescope （WXT） on board EP on April 8th,2024,manifested in an intense yet brief X-ray flare lasting for *** flare reached a peak flux of 3.9×10-9erg cm-2s-1in 0.5-4 ke V,～300 times brighter than the underlying X-ray emission detected throughout the *** and more precise follow-up observations by EP/FXT,Swift and NICER confirmed the finding of this new *** X-ray spectrum is non-thermal in 0.5-10 ke V,with a power-law photon index varying *** X-ray light curve shows a plateau lasting for ～4 d,followed by a steep decay till becoming undetectable ～10 d after the initial *** on its temporal property and constraints from previous EP observations,an unusual timescale in the range of 7-23 d is found for EP240408a,which is intermediate between the commonly found fast and long-term *** counterparts have been found in optical and near-infrared,with the earliest observation at 17 h after the initial X-ray detection,suggestive of intrinsically weak emission in these *** demonstrate that the remarkable properties of EP240408a are inconsistent with any of the transient types known so far,by comparison with,in particular,jetted tidal disruption events,gamma-ray bursts,X-ray binaries and fast blue optical *** nature of EP240408a thus remains an *** suggest that EP240408a may represent a new type of transients with intermediate timescales of the order of～10 *** detection and follow-ups of more of such objects are essential for revealing their origin.

Improving light-harvesting efficiency and suppressing interfacial charge recombination are of paramount importance to the development of Cu(Ⅱ/Ⅰ)redox shuttle-based dye-sensitized solar cells(DSSCs).Here,we present a rational molecular engineering on D-A-π-A organic sensitizers featuring with fluorenyl-substituted bulky donor(HY57,HY60,and HY61)for Cu(Ⅱ/Ⅰ)mediated *** gradually enhancing conjugation and rigidity of theπ-spacer and auxiliary acceptor moieties,the light-harvesting and electron-injection efficiencies can be simultaneously *** large size of fluorenyl-substituted arylamine donor together with abundant alkyl chains decorated on the molecular structures assist dense assembly of dye monolayer at surface of nanocrystalline TiO2,which largely suppress interfacial charge recombination *** applied in Cu(Ⅱ/Ⅰ)mediated DSSCs,the combination of an auxiliary acceptor of phenanthrene-fused-quinoxaline(PFQ)and aπ-spacer of cyclopentadithiophene(CPDT)in dye HY61 results in a simultaneous enhancement in short-circuit current(JSC)and open-circuit voltage(VOC),thus improving the power conversion efficiency(PCE)from 7.3%for reference dye HY59 to 10.3%for *** study demonstrates that rigid and fused building block is promising towards constructing highly efficient organic sensitizers.

Synthesis, Luminescence and Electrochemical Properties of Two Phenothiazine Derivatives

The synthesis, luminescence and electrochemical properties of two novel phenothiazine derivatives were presented, which exhibit good one-photon fluorescence emission. The quantum yields and solvent effects of them were studied in detail. Compound 3,7-bis（2-4＇-imidazolylbenzylidenehydrazonoethyl）-（0-ethylphenothiazine）（5） was used as an effective initiator, of which two-photon fluorescence spectra were investigated under 800 nm fs laser pulse and the measured two-photon absorption cross-section was 18 × 10^-50 cm^4·s per photon. Two-photon initiated polymerization microfabrication experiments were carried out. X-ray diffraction analyses revealed that the shape of the compound 3,7-bis（2-pyrid-4＇-ylmethylidenehydrazonoethyl）-（0-ethylphenothiazine）（4） looks like a butterfly with nearly planar wings. The dihedral angle of the two benzene rings is 37.6° and there is an obvious π-π stacking interaction between the molecules in the crystal.

Synthesis and electrochemical properties of spherically shaped LiVPO_(4)F/C cathode material by a spray drying-roasting method

LiVPO_(4) F has attracted increasing research interest in the field of Li-ion batteries due to its high working voltage platform and high theoretical energy ***,the construction of stable LiVPO_(4) F cathode material with excellent electrochemical properties is still a major ***,we successfully synthesized spherically shaped LiVPO_(4) F/C via a spray dryingroasting method.X-ray diffraction(XRD)and scanning electron microscopy(SEM)results indicate that the well crystallized LiVPO_(4) F/C with triclinic structure shows spherical morphology with an average diameter of 1-3μ*** spherically shaped LiVPO_(4) F/C delivers a discharge capacity of 137.9 mAh·g^(-1) at 0.1 C rate in the range of3.0-4.5 V and remains 91.4%capacity retention of its initial discharge capacity after 50 *** results reveal that spray drying-roasting method is a promising approach to synthesize spherically shaped LiVPO_(4) F/C cathode material with stable crystal structure and excellent performance.
