Computed tomography enterography-based radiomics for assessing mucosal healing in patients with small bowel Crohn's disease

Performance Analysis and Improvement of Flat Torque Converters Using DOE Method

Automotive torque converters have recently been designed with an increasingly narrower profile for the purpose of achieving a smaller axial size and reducing weight. Design of experiment(DOE) and computational fluid dynamics(CFD) techniques are applied to improve the performance of a flat torque converter. Four torque converters with different flatness ratios(0.204, 0.186, 0.172, and 0.158) are designed and simulated first to investigate the effects of flatness ratio on their overall performance, including efficiency, torque ratio, and impeller torque factor. The simulation results show that the overall performance tends to deteriorate as the flatness ratio decreases. Then a parametric study covering six geometric parameters, namely, inlet and outlet angles of impeller, turbine, and stator is carried out. The results demonstrate that the inlet and outlet angles play an important role in determining the performance characteristics of a torque converter. Furthermore, the relative importance of the six design parameters is investigated using DOE method for each response(stall torque ratio and peak efficiency). The turbine outlet angle is found to exert the greatest influence on both responses. After DOE analysis, an optimized design for the flat torque converter geometry is obtained. Compared to the conventional product, the width of the optimized flat torque converter torus is reduced by about 20% while the values of stall torque ratio and peak efficiency are only decreased by 0.4% and 1.7%, *** proposed new optimization strategy based on DOE method together with desirability function approach can be used for performance enhancement in the design process of flat torque converters.

Coupling potential and viscous flow models with domain decomposition for wave propagations

Comparison of time optimal control for two level quantum systems

The time optimal problem for a two level quantum sys-tem is studied. We compare two different control strategies of bang-bang control and the geometric control, respectively, es-pecial y in the case of minimizing the time of steering the state from North Pole to South Pole on the Bloch sphere with bounded control. The time performances are compared for different param-eters by the individual numerical simulation experiments, and the experimental results are analyzed. The results show that the ge-ometric control spends less time than the bang-bang control does.

Class imbalance is a common characteristic of industrial data that adversely affects industrial data mining because it leads to the biased training of machine learning *** address this issue,the augmentation of samples in minority classes based on generative adversarial networks(GANs)has been demonstrated as an effective *** study proposes a novel GAN-based minority class augmentation approach named classifier-aided minority augmentation generative adversarial network(CMAGAN).In the CMAGAN framework,an outlier elimination strategy is first applied to each class to minimize the negative impacts of ***,a newly designed boundary-strengthening learning GAN(BSLGAN)is employed to generate additional samples for minority *** incorporating a supplementary classifier and innovative training mechanisms,the BSLGAN focuses on learning the distribution of samples near classification ***,it can fully capture the characteristics of the target class and generate highly realistic samples with clear ***,the new samples are filtered based on the Mahalanobis distance to ensure that they are within the desired *** evaluate the effectiveness of the proposed approach,CMAGAN was used to solve the class imbalance problem in eight real-world fault-prediction *** performance of CMAGAN was compared with that of seven other algorithms,including state-of-the-art GAN-based methods,and the results indicated that CMAGAN could provide higher-quality augmented results.

Amorphous phase stability of NbTiAlSiNx high-entropy films

In this study, high-entropy films with the compo- sition of NbTiA1SiNx were prepared by a reactive direct current （DC） magnetron sputtering technique, with different nitrogen flow rates （0, 4 and 8 ***^-1）. The microstructures and properties were characterized by X-ray diffraction （XRD）, scanning electron microscopy （SEM）, high-resolution transmission electron microscopy （HRTEM）, nano-indenter and spectrophotometer. All of the as-deposited NbTiA1SiNx films are shown to have an amorphous structure, and the films exhibit high thermal stability up to 700℃. The maximum hardness and modulus values of the films reach 20.5 GPa （4 ***-1） and 206.8 GPa （0 ***^-l）, respectively. The films exhibit high absorption of the solar energy in the wavelength of 0.3-2.5 pm, which indicates that NbTiA1SiNx nitride film is a potential candidate solar selective absorbing coating for high-temperature photo-thermal conversion in the concentrated solar power project.

Synthesis of hierarchical porous carbon with high surface area by chemical activation of(NH_(4))_(2)C_(2)O_(4) modified hydrochar for chlorobenzene adsorption

In this work,hydrothermal technique combined with KOH activation were employed to develop a series of porous carbons (NPCK-x) using tobacco stem as a low-cost carbon source and (NH_(4))_(2)C_(2)O_(4)as a novel nitrogen-doping *** properties of NPCK-x were characterized by Brunauer-Emmett-Teller,field emission scanning electron microscopy,X-ray diffraction,Raman microscope,elemental analysis,and X-ray photoelectron *** showed that the NPCK-x samples possessed large surface areas (maximum:2875 m^(2)/g),hierarchical porous structures,and high degree of disorder.N-containing functional groups decomposed during activation process,which could be the dominant reason for appearance of abundant mesopores and well-developed pore *** chlorobenzene adsorption experiments demonstrated that carbon materials with(NH_(4))_(2)C_(2)O_(4)modification exhibited higher adsorption capacity (maximum:1053 mg/g) than those without modification (maximum:723 mg/g).The reusability studies of chlorobenzene indicated that the desorption efficiency of (NH_(4))_(2)C_(2)O_(4)modified porous carbon reached90.40%after thermal desorption at 100℃ under *** model fitting results exhibited that the existence of mesopores accelerated the diffusion rate of chlorobenzene in porous ***,Grand Canonical Monte Carlo simulation was conducted to verify that micropores with pore sizes of 1.2–2 nm of the optimized porous carbon were the best adsorption sites for chlorobenzene and mesopores with pore sizes of 2–5 nm were also highly active sites for chlorobenzene adsorption.
