Convenient room-temperature synthesis of sulfur and nitrogen co-doped NiCo-LDH coupled with CNTs on NiCo foam as battery-type electrode for high performance hybrid supercapacitor

The convenient synthesis of the composite electrode with high supercapacitance performance plays an important role in practical application but is ***, the carbon nanotubes（CNTs） coupled with lowcrystalline sulfur and nitrogen co-doped Ni Co-LDH（denoted as SN-Ni Co-LDH） nanosheets array are grown on Ni Co foam（NCF） substrate by two convenient steps of metal induced self-assembly and corrosion engineering,which present the advantages of operating at roomtemperature and low preparation costs. Benefiting from the S–N co-doping and low-crystallinity of Ni Co-LDH, the prepared SN-Ni Co-LDH@CNTs@NCF electrode presents a topping charge capacity of 2470 C·g-1(4.94 C·cm-2) at 5 m A·cm-2. Furthermore, the fabricated asymmetry supercapacitor（ASC） achieves an extraordinary energy density of 77 Wh·kg-1(0.617 m Wh·cm-2) at a power density of 438 W·kg-1(3.5 m W·cm-2) and outstanding stability(91% capacity retention after 5000 cycles at20 m A·cm-2). Impressively, the structure evolution of Ni Co-LDH during the charge/discharge processes has been thoroughly elucidated by in-situ Raman spectra. Therefore,this work verifies a powerful strategy and practical value for preparing composite electrodes with high supercapacitance performance, and also provides guidance for the rational design of the smart electrodes.

Several autonomous navigation methods have been studied to reduce reliance on the ground stations. Geomagnetic navigation, gravity gradient navigation, and celestial navigation using optical sensors are typical autonomous navigation methods. Geomagnetic and gravity gradient navigation have low navigation accuracy (1301 m [1] and 235 m [2], respectively) due to the poor accuracy of the geomagnetic and gravity gradient maps.

General anesthetic agents induce neurotoxicity through astrocytes

Neuroscientists have recognized the importance of astrocytes in regulating neurological function and their influence on the release of glial transmitters. Few studies, however, have focused on the effects of general anesthetic agents on neuroglia or astrocytes. Astrocytes can also be an important target of general anesthetic agents as they exert not only sedative, analgesic, and amnesic effects but also mediate general anesthetic-induced neurotoxicity and postoperative cognitive dysfunction. Here, we analyzed recent advances in understanding the mechanism of general anesthetic agents on astrocytes, and found that exposure to general anesthetic agents will destroy the morphology and proliferation of astrocytes, in addition to acting on the receptors on their surface, which not only affect Ca2+signaling, inhibit the release of brain-derived neurotrophic factor and lactate from astrocytes, but are even involved in the regulation of the pro-and anti-inflammatory processes of astrocytes. These would obviously affect the communication between astrocytes as well as between astrocytes and neighboring neurons, other neuroglia, and vascular cells. In this review, we summarize how general anesthetic agents act on neurons via astrocytes, and explore potential mechanisms of action of general anesthetic agents on the nervous system. We hope that this review will provide a new direction for mitigating the neurotoxicity of general anesthetic agents.

The mW5.5 earthquake on August 6,2023,in Pingyuan,Shandong,China:A rupture on a buried fault

On August 6,2023,a magnitude mW5.5 earthquake struck Pingyuan County,Dezhou City,Shandong Province,*** event was significant as no large earthquakes had been recorded in the region for over a century,and no active fault had been previously *** study collects 1309 P-wave arrival times and 866 S-wave arrival times from 74 seismic stations less than 200 km to the epicenter to constrain the spatial distribution of the mainshock and its 125 early aftershocks by the double difference earthquake relocation method,and selects 864 P-waveforms from 288 stations located within 800 km of the epicenter to constrain the focal mechanism solution of the mainshock through centroid moment tensor *** relocation and the inversion indicate,the Pingyuan mW5.5 earthquake was caused by a rupture on a buried fault,likely an extensive segment of the Gaotang *** buried fault exhibited a dip of approximately 75°to the northwest,with a strike of 222°,similar to the Gaotang *** rupture initiated at the depth of 18.6 km and propagated upward and ***,the ground surface was not *** total duration of the rupture was~6.0 s,releasing the scalar moment of 2.5895×1017 N·m,equivalent to *** moment rate reached the maximum only 1.4 seconds after the rupture initiation,and the 90%scalar moment was released in the first 4.6 *** the first 1.4 seconds of the rupture process,the rupture velocity was estimated to be 2.6 km/s,slower than the local S-wave *** the rupture neared its end,the rupture velocity decreased *** study provides valuable insights into the seismic characteristics of the Pingyuan mW5.5 earthquake,shedding light on the previously unidentified buried fault responsible for the seismic activity in the *** the behavior of such faults is crucial for assessing seismic hazards and enhancing earthquake preparedness in the future.

Light–matter interactions in two-dimensional(2D)materials have been the focus of research since the discovery of *** light–matter interaction length in 2D materials is,however,much shorter than that in bulk materials owing to the atomic nature of 2D *** nanostructures are usually integrated with 2D materials to enhance the light–matter interactions,offering great opportunities for both fundamental research and technological ***-on-mirror(NPo m)structures with extremely confined optical fields are highly desired in this *** addition,2D materials provide a good platform for the study of plasmonic fields with subnanometer resolution and quantum plasmonics down to the characteristic length scale of a single atom.A focused and up-to-date review article is highly desired for a timely summary of the progress in this rapidly growing field and to encourage more research efforts in this *** this review,we will first introduce the basic concepts of plasmonic modes in NPo m *** between plasmons and quasi-particles in 2D materials,e.g.,excitons and phonons,from weak to strong coupling and potential applications will then be described in *** phenomena in subnanometer metallic gaps separated by 2D materials,such as quantum tunneling,will also be *** will finally discuss phenomena and physical processes that have not been understood clearly and provide an outlook for future *** believe that the hybrid systems of2D materials and NPo m structures will be a promising research field in the future.

Photonic neuromorphic architecture for tens-of-task lifelong learning

Scalable,high-capacity,and low-power computing architecture is the primary assurance for increasingly manifold and large-scale machine learning *** electronic artificial agents by conventional power-hungry processors have faced the issues of energy and scaling walls,hindering them from the sustainable performance improvement and iterative multi-task *** to another modality of light,photonic computing has been progressively applied in high-efficient neuromorphic ***,we innovate a reconfigurable lifelong-learning optical neural network(L2 ONN),for highly-integrated tens-of-task machine intelligence with elaborated algorithm-hardware *** from the inherent sparsity and parallelism in massive photonic connections,L2 ONN learns each single task by adaptively activating sparse photonic neuron connections in the coherent light field,while incrementally acquiring expertise on various tasks by gradually enlarging the *** multi-task optical features are parallelly processed by multi-spectrum representations allocated with different *** evaluations on freespace and on-chip architectures confirm that for the first time,L2 ONN avoided the catastrophic forgetting issue of photonic computing,owning versatile skills on challenging tens-of-tasks(vision classification,voice recognition,medical diagnosis,etc.)with a single ***,L2 ONN achieves more than an order of magnitude higher efficiency than the representative electronic artificial neural networks,and 14×larger capacity than existing optical neural networks while maintaining competitive performance on each individual *** proposed photonic neuromorphic architecture points out a new form of lifelong learning scheme,permitting terminal/edge AI systems with light-speed efficiency and unprecedented scalability.

A methodology for Assessing Axial Compressor Stability with Inlet Temperature Ramp Distortion

Based on a small perturbation stability model for periodic flow,the effects of inlet total temperature ramp distortion on the axial compressor are investigated and the compressor stability is quantitatively *** the beginning,a small perturbation stability model for the periodic flow in compressors is proposed,referring to the governing equations of the Harmonic Balance *** stability model is validated on a single-stage low-speed compressor TA36 with uniform inlet ***,the unsteady flow of TA36 with different inlet total temperature ramps and constant back pressure is simulated based on the Harmonic Balance *** on these simulations,the compressor stability is analyzed using the proposed small perturbation ***,the Dynamic mode Decomposition method is employed to accurately extract pressure *** two parameters of the temperature ramp,ramp rate and Strouhal number,are discussed in this *** results indicate the occurrence and extension of hysteresis loops in the rows,and a decrease in compressor stability with increasing ramp *** performance is divided into two phases,stable and limit,based on the ramp ***,the model predictions suggest that a decrease in period length and an increase in Strouhal number lead to improved compressor *** DmD results imply that for compressors with inlet temperature ramp distortion,the increase of high-order modes and oscillations at the rotor tip is always the signal of decreasing stability.

Thermally Conductive,Healable Glass Fiber Cloth Reinforced Polymer Composite based onβ-Hydroxyester Bonds Crosslinked Epoxy with Improved Heat Resistance

To simultaneously endow thermal conductivity,high glass transition temperature(Tg)and healing capability to glass fiber/epoxy(GFREP)composite,dynamic crosslinked epoxy resin bearing reversibleβ-hydroxyl ester bonds was reinforced with boron nitride nanosheets modified glass fiber cloth(GFC@BNNSs).The in-plane heat conduction paths were constructed by electrostatic self-assembly of polyacrylic acid treated GFC and polyethyleneimine decorated ***,the GFC@BNNSs were impregnated with the mixture of lower concentration(3-glycidyloxypropyl)trimethoxysilane grafted BN micron sheets,3,4-epoxycyclohexylmethyl 3,4-epoxycyclohexanecarboxylate and hexahydro-4-methylphthalic anhydride,which accounted for establishing the through-plane heat transport pathways and avoiding serious deterioration of mechanical *** resultant GFREP composite containing less boron nitride particles(17.6 wt%)exhibited superior in-plane(3.29 W·m^(-1)·K^(-1))and through-plane(1.16 W·m^(-1)·K^(-1))thermal conductivities,as well as high Tg of 204℃(Tg of the unfilled epoxy=177℃).The reversible transesterification reaction enabled closure of interlaminar cracks within the composite,achieving decent healing efficiencies estimated by means of tensile strength(71.2%),electrical breakdown strength(83.6%)and thermal conductivity(69.1%).The present work overcame the disadvantages of conventional thermally conductive composites,and provided an efficient approach to prolong the life span of thermally conductive GFREP laminate for high-temperature resistant integrated circuit application.

Improving flangeability of multiphase steel by increasing microstructural homogeneity

multiphase microstructure significantly increases the strength,usually at the expense of flangeability because of lacking microstructure *** further improve the strength-flangeability of multiphase steel,the microstructural homogeneity was advanced by adjusting the hard martensite/austenite(m/A)*** strength-flangeability was measured via uniaxial tensile tests and hole expansion *** microstructures were characterized using a scanning electron microscope equipped with an electron backscatter diffraction detector and a transmission electron *** tests were supplementally used to quantitatively reveal the microstructural homogeneity of the *** show that the adjusted multiphase steel achieves an excellent ultimate tensile strength(~800 mPa)and flangeability(~135%hole expansion ratio).A promising homogeneous multiphase microstructure was obtained by controlling undercooled austenite transformed at about 600℃.This microstructure consists of soft polygonal ferrite,blocky bainitic ferrite,and hard m/A *** volume fraction of m/A islands is around 5%,and the average size is less than l *** nanoindentation analysis indicated that the participation of m/A islands impressively influenced the microstructural *** strain partition and better mechanical compatibility were present in the adjusted multiphase steel since the plasticity initiation started late,which resulted in a positive ***,avoiding m/A islands distributed in the chain along the rolling direction on the matrix hindered the possibility of voids coalescing into cracks and stabilized the flanging performance.
