Cyanea nozakii,a common jellyfish distributed in offshore China,has a complex trophic relationship with other zooplankton ***,few studies have reported the predation rates and prey selection patterns of *** medusae on different prey *** is also lacking on the intraguild predation of Aurelia coerulea(another common bloom jellyfish in offshore China)by *** address the knowledge gaps,the clearance rates of *** for different prey items,including copepods(smallm and large>1000μm),fish larvae,and gelatinous prey(hydromedusae,*** ephyrae,and chaetognaths),were *** influence of predator size on the clearance rate was also ***,we examined the intraguild predation of *** on *** *** clearance rates of *** varied widely with prey organisms,being independent of prey *** organisms,except for chaetognaths,were captured with considerably high efficiency,followed by fish larvae and copepods,indicating the preferential prey selection of gelatinous organisms by *** clearance rate increased linearly with the cross-sectional area of *** size in medusae may,to some extents,underpin their capacity to capture more prey by increasing the encounter rate and capture success through *** preyed voraciously on *** in high feeding efficiency,but the clearance rate decreased with increasing ***(as prey)*** phenomenon of intraguild predation suggests a speculative hypothesis of potential population regulation of *** by *** information regarding the feeding ecology of *** reported in this study is important for understanding plankton dynamics in marine ecosystems with extensive occurrences of this jellyfish.

Sequence-Controlled Synthesis of Alternating Poly(ester amide)s using Water as Control Agent in One-Pot

Poly(ester amide)s(PEAs)attract much attention as a new kind of biodegradable ***,the synthesis of PEAs with sequence-regulated chain structures is still complicated due to the multistep polymerization,high monomer purity,as well as the usage of organic solvents,which greatly inhibits its development and ***,a one-pot strategy without solvent was developed to synthesize the alternating PEA fromα,ω-amino alcohol and dicarboxylic acid by sequential polycondensation,where water was used as the controlling agent for amidation and ***,the amidation and esterification were controlled to proceed in turn by adding or removing water,realizing the one-pot preparation of alternating *** resultant PEA is characterized by^1H-and^(13)C-NmR,and its chain structure is confirmed to be highly quasi-alternating similar to alternating PEAs prepared by classical methods The evaluations from DSC and DmA demonstrate that the properties of quasi-alternating PEA(T_(m)=102℃,ΔH_(m)=30J·g^(-1))are far superior to those of random PEA(T_(m)=72℃,ΔH_(m)<1 J·g^(-1)).

Bacterial community network complexity and role of stochasticity decrease during primary succession

In microbial ecology,there is limited understanding of the mechanisms governing patterns in community structure across space and ***,we studied the changes of bacterial co-occurrence network structure over four primary successional soils after glacier retreat,including a sand dune system and three glacier foreland series,varying in timescale from centuries to *** found that in all series,network structure was most complex in the earliest stages of succession,and became simpler over *** and abundance of keystone species and network stability also declined over *** appears that with less productive,nutrient poor and physiologically extreme conditions of early succession,closer interactions among bacterial species are ecologically selected *** may take the form of consortia(with positive interactions)or stronger niche exclusion(with negative interactions).Additionally,we quantified the relative roles of different structuring processes on bacterial community using a bin-based null model analysis(iCAmP).With each successional series,community composition was initially governed by stochasticity,but as succession proceeded there was a progressive increase in deterministic selection over time,correlated with decreasing ***,our results show a consistency among the four series in long-term processes of community succession,with more integrated networks and greater stochasticity in early stages.

The oxidation behavior of a novel Ni-based single-crystal 4774DD1 superalloy for industrial gas turbine applications was investigated by the isothermal oxidation at 980℃ and discontinuous oxidation weight gain *** phase constitution and morphology of surface oxides and the characteristics of the crosssection oxide film were analyzed by XRD,SEm and *** show that the oxidation kinetics of the 4774DD1 superalloy follows the cubic law,indicating its weak oxidation resistance at this *** the oxidation time increases,the composition of the oxide film evolves as following:One layer consisting of a bottom Al_(2)O_(3)sublayer and an upper(Al_(2)O_(3)+NiO)mixture sublayer after oxidized for 25 ***,two layers composed of an outermost small NiO discontinuous grain layer and an internal layer for 75 *** internal layer is consisted of the bottom Al_(2)O_(3)sublayer,an intermediate narrow CrTaO_(4)sublayer,and an upper(Al_(2)O_(3)+NiO)mixture *** two layers comprising an outermost relative continuous NiO layer with large grain size and an internal layer as the oxidation time increases to 125 *** internal layer is composed of the upper(Al_(2)O_(3)+NiO)mixture sublayer,an intermediate continuous(CrTaO_(4)+NiWO_(4))mixture sublayer,and a bottom Al_(2)O_(3)***,three layers consisting of an outermost(NiAl2O_(4)+NiCr2O_(4))mixture layer,an intermediate(CrTaO_(4)+NiWO_(4))mixture layer,and a bottom Al_(2)O_(3)layer for 200 h.

metal-organic framework-derived porous carbon for the advanced aqueous zinc-ion hybrid capacitor

Aqueous zinc ion hybrid capacitors(ZIHCs)are considered one of the most promising electrochemical energy storage systems due to their high safety,environmental friendliness,low cost,and high power ***,the low energy density and the lack of sustainable design strategies for the cathodes hinder the practical application of ***,we design the N and O co-doped porous carbon cathode by annealing metal-organic framework(ZIF-8).ZIF-8 retains the original dodecahedral structure with a high specific surface(2814.67 m^(2)/g)and I_(G)/I_(D) ratio of 1.0 during carbonization and achieves self-doping of N and O *** defect sites are introduced into the porous carbon to provide additional active sites for ion adsorption after the activation of carbonized ZIF-8 by KOH *** ZIHCs assembled with modified ZIF-8 as the cathode and commercial zinc foil as the anode show an energy density of 125 W∙h/kg and a power density of 79 W/*** addition,this ZIHCs device achieves capacity retention of 77.8%after 9000 electrochemical cycles,which is attributed to the diverse pore structure and plentiful defect sites of ZIF-8-800(KOH).The proposed strategy may be useful in developing high-performance metal-ion hybrid capacitors for large-scale energy storage.

Conceptual design of a 714-mHz RFQ for compact proton injectors and development of a new tuning algorithm on its aluminium prototype

Radio frequency quadrupoles(RFQs),which are crucial components of proton injectors,significantly affect the performance of proton accelerator *** RFQ with a high frequency of 714 mHz dedicated to compact proton injectors for medi-cal applications is designed in this *** RFQ is designed to accelerate proton beams from 50 keV to 4 meV within a short length of 2 m and can be matched closely with the downstream drift tube linac to capture more particles through a preliminary *** develop an advanced RFQ,challenging techniques,including fabrication and tuning method,must be evaluated and verified using a *** aluminium prototype is derived from the conceptual design of the RFQ and then redesigned to confirm the radio frequency performance,fabrication procedure,and feasibility of the tuning ***,a new tuning algorithm based on the response matrix and least-squares method is developed,which yields favorable results based on the prototype,i.e.,the errors of the dipole and quadrupole components reduced to a low level after several tuning *** from the conceptual design and techniques obtained from the prototype,the formal mechanical design of the 2-m RFQ is ready for the next manufacturing step.

Experimental Investigation and X-Ray Computed microtomography Simulation on Thermal Physical Properties of Foundation materials after molten Salt Leakage in the Storage Tank

This paper studied the thermal physical properties of foundation materials in the molten salt tank of thermal energy storage system after molten salt leakage by Transient plane source experiment and X-ray computed microtomography simulation *** microstructure,thermal properties and pressure resistance with different particle diameters were *** measured heat conductivities from Transient plane source experiment for three cases are 0.49 W/(m·K),0.48 W/(m·K),and 0.51 W/(m·K),and the porosity is 30.1%,30.7%,and 31.2% *** heat conductivity simulating results of three cases are 0.471 W/(m·K),0.482W/(m·K),and 0.513 W/(m·K).The ratio of difference between the results of simulation and Transient plane source measurement is as low as 1.2%,verifying the reliability of experimental and simulation results to a certain *** with the heat conductivity of 0.097-0.129 W/(m·K) and porosity of 71.6%-78.9% without leaking salt,the porosity is reduced by more than 50% while the heat conductivity increased by 4 to 5 times after molten salt *** significant increase in heat conductivity has a great impact on security operation,structure design,and modeling of the tank foundation for solar power plants.

Clinical application of the endometrial microbiota test combined with personalized treatment in patients with repeated implantation failure

Objective: The objective of this study was to investigate the clinical value of the endometrial microbiota test (EmT) combined with personalized treatment in patients with repeated implantation failure (RIF).methods: From march 2019 to August 2022, the clinical data of patients with RIF at the Reproductive medicine Research Center of the Sixth Affiliated Hospital of Sun Yat-sen University were retrospectively analyzed. A total of 356 patients underwent the EmT using 16S rRNA sequencing and were included in the EmT group. The SPSS statistical software propensity score was set at 1:1 to match the age, anti-müllerian hormone (AmH), antral follicle count (AFC), years of infertility, and body mass index (BmI) of the women who had not undergone the EmT; subsequently, 354 patients were classified in the non-EmT group. We compared the clinical characteristics of the two groups and analyzed the clinical pregnancy outcomes after personalized ***: The clinical pregnancy rate (CPR) of the EmT group was significantly higher than that of the non-EmT group (47.81%vs. 13.38%,P mong 356 patients who underwent the EmT, 55 patients (15.45%) in group A with normal endometrial microbiota composition did not test positive for the pathogenic bacteria causing chronic endometritis, 34 patients (9.55%) in group B with abnormal endometrial microbiota composition did not test positive for the pathogenic bacteria causing chronic endometritis, 35 patients (9.83%) in group C with normal endometrial microbiota composition tested positive for the pathogenic bacteria causing chronic endometritis, and 232 patients (65.17%) in group D with abnormal endometrial microbiota composition tested positive for the pathogenic bacteria causing chronic endometritis. After administration of probiotics or antibiotic plus probiotics treatment, the pregnancy rates of groups C and D were higher than those of group A (44.00%vs. 20.00% and 55.03%vs. 20.00%, respectively; bothP <0.05).Conclusion:

Synchronous deprotonation–protonation for mechanically robust chitin/aramid nanofibers conductive aerogel with excellent pressure sensing, thermal management, and electromagnetic interference shielding

Aerogels with regularly porous structure and uniformly distributed conductive networks have received extensive attention in wearable electronic sensors,electromagnetic shielding,and so ***,the poor mechanical properties of the emerging nanofibers-based aerogels are limited in practical *** this work,we developed a synchronous deprotonation–protonation method in the KOH/dimethyl sulfoxide(DmSO)system at room temperature for achieving chitin cross-linked aramid nanofibers(CANFs)rather than chitin nanofibers(ChNFs)and aramid nanofibers(ANFs)separately by using chitin and aramid pulp as raw *** freeze-drying process,the cross-linked chitin/aramid nanofibers(CA)aerogel exhibited the synergetic properties of ChNF and ANF by the dual-nanofiber compensation *** mechanical stress of CA aerogel was 170 kPa at 80%compressive strain,increased by 750%compared with pure ChNF ***,the compressibility of CA aerogel was somewhat improved compared to ANF *** enhancement verified that the crosslinking reaction between ANF and ChNF during the synchronous deprotonation process was ***,the conductive aerogels with uniform porous structure(CA-m)were successfully obtained by vacuum impregnating CA aerogels in Ti_(3)C_(2)T_(x) mXene solution,displaying low thermal conductivity(0.01 W/(m·K)),high electromagnetic interference(EmI)shielding effectiveness(SE)(75 dB),flame retardant,and heat ***,the as-obtained CA-m aerogels were also applied as a pressure sensor with excellent compression cycle stability and superior human motion monitoring *** a result,the dual-nanofiber based conductive aerogels have great potentials in flexible/wearable electronics,EmI shielding,flame retardant,and heat insulation.
