Electrochemical reaction mechanism of porous Zn_(2)Ti_(3)O_(8)as a high-performance pseudocapacitive anode for li-ion batteries

Zn_(2)Ti_(3)O_(8),as a new type of anode material for lithium-ion batteries,is attracting enormous attention because of its low cost and excellent safety.Though decent capacities have been reported,the electrochemical reaction mechanism of Zn_(2)Ti_(3)O_(8)has rarely been studied.In this work,a porous Zn_(2)Ti_(3)O_(8)anode with considerably high capacity(421 mAh/g at 100 mA/g and 209 mAh/g at 5000 mA/g after 1500 cycles)was reported,which is even higher than ever reported titanium-based anodes materials including li_(4)Ti_(5)O_(12),TiO_(2)and li_(2)ZnTi_(3)O_(8).Here,for the first time,the accurate theoretical capacity of Zn_(2)Ti_(3)O_(8)was confirmed to be 266.4 mAh/g.It was also found that both intercalation reaction and pseudocapacitance contribute to the actual capacity of Zn_(2)Ti_(3)O_(8),making it possibly higher than the theoretical value.Most importantly,the porous structure of Zn_(2)Ti_(3)O_(8)not only promotes the intercalation reaction,but also induces high pseudocapacitance capacity(225.4 mAh/g),which boosts the reversible capacity.Therefore,it is the outstanding pseudocapacitance capacity of porous Zn_(2)Ti_(3)O_(8)that accounts for high actual capacity exceeding the theoretical one.This work elucidates the superiorities of porous structure and provides an example in designing high-performance electrodes for lithium-ion batteries.

Moment-Based Multi-Resolution HWENO Scheme for Hyperbolic Conservation Laws

In this paper,a high-order moment-based multi-resolution Hermite weighted essentially non-oscillatory(HWENO)scheme is designed for hyperbolic conservation laws.The main idea of this scheme is derived from our previous work[J.Comput.Phys.,446(2021)110653],in which the integral averages of the function and its first order derivative are used to reconstruct both the function and its first order derivative values at the boundaries.However,in this paper,only the function values at the Gauss-Lobatto points in the one or two dimensional case need to be reconstructed by using the information of the zeroth and first order moments.In addition,an extra modification procedure is used to modify those first order moments in the troubledcells,which leads to an improvement of stability and an enhancement of resolution near discontinuities.To obtain the same order of accuracy,the size of the stencil required by this moment-based multi-resolution HWENO scheme is still the same as the general HWENO scheme and is more compact than the generalWENO scheme.Moreover,the linear weights are not unique and are independent of the node position,and the CFL number can still be 0.6whether for the one or two dimensional case,which has to be 0.2 in the two dimensional case for other HWENO schemes.Extensive numerical examples are given to demonstrate the stability and resolution of such moment-based multi-resolution HWENO scheme.

A review of gas-phase chemical mechanisms commonly used in atmospheric chemistry modelling

The atmospheric chemical mechanism is an essential component of airshed models used for investigating the chemical behaviors and impacts of species.Since the first tropospheric chemical mechanism was proposed in the 1960s,various mechanisms including Master Chemical Mechanism(MCM),Carbon Bond Mechanism(CBM),Statewide Air Pollution Research Center(SAPRC)and Regional Atmospheric Chemistry Mechanism(RACM)have been developed for different research purposes.This work summarizes the development and applications of these mechanisms,introduces their compositions and lumping methods,and compares the ways the mechanisms treat radicals with box model simulations.CBM can reproduce urban pollution events with relatively low cost compared to SAPRC and RACM,whereas the chemical behaviors of radicals and the photochemical production of ozone are described in detail in RACM.The photolysis rates of some oxygenated compounds are low in SAPRC07,which may result in underestimation of radical levels.As an explicit chemical mechanism,MCM describes the chemical processes of primary pollutants and their oxidation products in detail.MCM can be used to investigate certain chemical processes;however,due to its large size,it is rarely used in regional model simulations.A box model case study showed that the chemical behavior of OH and HO_(2)radicals and the production of ozone were well described by all mechanisms.CBM and SAPRC underestimated the radical levels for different chemical treatments,leading to low ozone production values in both cases.MCM and RACM are widely used in box model studies,while CBM and SAPRC are often selected in regional simulations.

Utilization of quantitative electroencephalogram in China:an online questionnaire survey

Background:Quantitative electroencephalogram(QEEG)is a tool that uses a computer to analyze brain activity monitored by electroencephalogram(EEG)according to measurements such as frequency,amplitude,and slope.The purpose of this study was to understand the current situation of QEEG utilization in China and further compare the situations among different regions and different levels of hospitals.Methods:An online questionnaire comprising 14 questions was designed.Statistical description and analysis were made for the results of the questionnaire survey.Results:A total of 158 people from 134 medical institutions participated in the survey.The participants came from 21 provinces,accounting for 61.76%(21/34)of the 34 provincial administrative regions in China.The Eastern China region accounted for 66.42%(89/134)of all the medical institutions that participated in this survey.Among the institutions surveyed,QEEG was routinely used in only 23.88%(32/134)of them.Among the medical institutions in which QEEG was routinely used,87.50%(28/32)of them were 3A-grade hospitals.Among the institutions with routine use of QEEG,56.25%(18/32)were affiliated hospitals of medical schools.There was a significant difference in the utilization of QEEG between the 3A-grade and non-3A-grade hospitals(P=0.040)and between the hospitals affiliated to medical schools and those non-affiliated to medical schools(P=0.020).Conclusions:The utilization of QEEG is still limited in China.There are differences in the use of QEEG among different hospitals and regions.

In Situ Synthesis of Core-Shell li4Ti5O(12) @ Polyaniline Composites with Enhanced Rate Performance for lithium-ion Battery Anodes

The core-shell li4Ti5O（12） @ polyaniline composites（LP） have been synthesized via an in situ synthesis with different mole ratios（25：1, 50：1 and 100：1, aniline：LTO）. As an anode material of lithium-ion batteries,the LP-2 electrodes（50：1） exhibit a high initial reversible capacity of 205 mAh g^（-1）with an initial coulombic efficiency of 97.6% at 0.1 C. Even at a high current density of 10 C, the reversible capacity of the LP-2 electrodes still remains at 102 mAh g^（-1）. Moreover, the LP-2 electrodes retain an impressive high capacity of 161 mAh g^（-1）after 100 cycles at 1 C, with 0.11% capacity fading per cycle. The promising electrochemical performance may be attributed to the significantly decreasing charge-transfer impedance of the LP composite and reductive polarity difference between the cathode and the electrolyte.

干燥方式对铁棍山药片挥发性风味成分的影响

采用顶空固相微萃取结合气相色谱-质谱联用技术(HS-SPME-GC-MS)和电子鼻,分别测定热风干燥、微波干燥、真空干燥、真空冷冻干燥、联合干燥5种干燥方式加工的铁棍山药片的挥发性风味成分,并结合主成分分析,研究干燥过程中山药片风味的变化。结果表明,在5种干燥方式制得的山药片中,共检出95种挥发性成分,主要包括烃类、醛类、酮类、醇类、酯类、苯类和杂环化合物等。壬醛、癸醛、2,6,10-三甲基十四烷、香叶基丙酮是山药片中的主要风味物质。热风干燥、真空干燥、微波干燥所得山药片的主要挥发性物质有烃类、苯类和醛类;真空冷冻干燥、联合干燥所得山药片的主要挥发性物质有烃类、醛类和酮类。电子鼻检测结果表明,5种干燥方式制得的山药片风味存在一定差异,其中热风干燥和真空干燥所得山药片的风味在醇、部分芳香族化合物上具有相似性,真空冷冻干燥山药片与其它干燥方式山药片的风味差异主要是含氮化合物、含硫化合物。这与GC-MS分析结果一致。根据主成分分析法建立了山药片香气品质评价模型,得出联合干燥方式制得的山药片综合得分最高,香气品质最好,其次为真空冷冻干燥、微波干燥、热风干燥、真空干燥。

Microwave assisted hydrothermal synthesis of tin niobates nanosheets with high cycle stability as lithium-ion battery anodes

In this study, SnNb_2O_6 and Sn_2Nb_2O_7 nanosheets are synthetized via microwave assisted hydrothermal method, and innovatively employed as anode materials for lithium-ion battery. The SnNb_2O_6 electrode exhibits high reversible capacity and excellent cycling stability(498 mAh/g at 0.1 A/g after 100 cycles),which is superior to that of Sn_2Nb_2O_7 electrode(173 mAh/g at 0.1 A/g after 100 cycles). Even increasing the current density to 2.0 A/g, the SnNb_2O_6 electrode still delivers a reversible capacity up to 306 mAh/g.The rate performance of the SnNb_2O_6 electrode is also better than that of Sn_2 Nb_2O_7 electrode at different current densities from 0.1 A/g to 2.0 A/g. The enhanced electrochemical performance of SnNb_2O_6 nanosheets can be attributed to the unique layered structure, which is conducive to the diffusion of the lithium ions and the migration of electrons during discharge/charge.

Transplanting human neural progenitor cells is a promising method of replenishing the lost neurons after spinal cord injury (SCI), but differentiating neural progenitor cells into the diverse types of mature functional spinal cord neurons in vivo is challenging. In this study, engineered human embryonic spinal cord-like tissues with dorsal and ventral neuronal characters (DV-SC) were generated by inducing human neural progenitor cells (hscNPCs) to differentiate into various types of dorsal and ventral neuronal cells on collagen scaffold in vitro. Transplantation of DV-SC into complete SCI models in rats and monkeys showed better therapeutic effects than undifferentiated hscNPCs, including pronounced cell survival and maturation. DV-SC formed a targeted connection with the host’s ascending and descending axons, partially restored interrupted neural circuits, and improved motor evoked potentials and the hindlimb function of animals with SCI. This suggests that the transplantation of pre-differentiated hscNPCs with spinal cord dorsal and ventral neuronal characteristics could be a promising strategy for SCI repair.
