Motivated by the excellent performance of proportional–integral–derivative controllers(PIDs)in the field of control,the authors injected the philosophy of PID into optimi-sation and introduced two types of novel PID optimisers from a continuous-time view,which benefit from the idea that discrete-time optimisation algorithm can be modelled as a continuous dynamical system/controlled system.For centralised optimisation,the au-thors discuss the idea of the first-order PID optimiser and the second-order accelerated PID optimiser.Furthermore,this framework is extended into distributed optimisation settings,and a distributed PID optimiser is proposed.Finally,some numerical examples are given to verify our ideas.

WO_(3)(H_(2)O)_(0.333)/CdS(WS)nanocomposites are obtained via a rapid microwave hydrothermal method,and they are served as visible light-driven photocatalysts for the H2 generation.By using Pt as the cocatalyst,the WS nanocomposite with 70 wt.%CdS reaches the H2 evolution rate of 10.32 mmol$g-1$h-1,much quicker than those of WO_(3)(H_(2)O)_(0.333)and CdS.The cycling test reveals the good photocatalytic stability of the WS nanocomposite.The carrier transfer mechanism of WS nanocomposites can be explained by the Z-scheme mechanism.The existence of the Z-scheme heterojunction greatly helps to separate photogenerated carriers and thus improves the photocatalytic activity.The present work provides a rapid synthesis method for preparing Z-scheme heterojunction photocatalysts,and may be helpful for the green production of hydrogen.

Bacterial keratitis is the most common corneal infection which may lead to blindness,and seriously threatened the human visual health worldwide.Clinical treatment with antibiotic eye drops formulation usually falls in low bioavailability and poor therapeutic efficiency.Hydrogel has gained much attention as ophthalmic formulation recently due to the prolonged drug retention on ocular surface.In this study,we proposed a type of all-small-molecule supramolecular hydrogel assembled from guanosine-5′-monophosphate disodium salt and tobramycin for the treatment of bacterial keratitis.Guanosine-5′-monophosphate disodium salt assembled into guanosine-quartet nanofibers via hydrogen bonding andπ-πstacking,and tobramycin with five primary amine groups further crosslinked the nanofibers bearing multiple phosphate moieties into gel networks via ionic interactions.The supramolecular gel showed shear thinning and thixotropic properties,good biocompatibility,and antibacterial activity.The gel treatment significantly ameliorated P.aeruginosa induced bacterial keratitis,and showed higher therapeutic efficacy compared to tobramycin eye drop.This study provides a facile and efficient antibiotic gel formulation for clinical treatment of bacterial keratitis.

Neuropeptide Y and leptin receptor expression in the hypothalamus of rats with chronic immobilization stress

In this study, Sprague-Dawley rats were immobilized to a frame for 3 hours a day for 21 days to establish a model of chronic immobilization stress. The body weight and food intake of rats subjected to chronic immobilization stress were significantly decreased compared with the control group. Dual-labeling immunofluorescence revealed that the expression of leptin receptor and the co-localization coeffient in these leptic receptor neurons in the arcuate nucleus of the hypothalamus were both upregulated, while the number of neuropeptide Y neurons was decreased. Chronic immobilization stress induced high expression of leptin receptor in the arcuate nucleus and suppressed the synthesis and secretion of neuropeptide Y, thereby disrupting the pathways in the arcuate nucleus that regulate feeding behavior, resulting in diminished food intake and reduced body weight.

Background:The theory of pulse diagnosis is to assess the physiological condition of the human body using radial pulse.However,pulses can vary markedly from person to person.Further,pulse diagnosis is difficult to learn and requires one-on-one teaching.Methods:To address this problem,we built a home-made pulse diagnoser and measured human pulses for studying the standardization of pulse diagnosis.Our pulse diagnoser was composed of a piezoelectric transducer,differential amplifier,data acquisition instrument,and a Matlab analysis program.The measured pulses were converted into electronic signals by a piezoelectric transducer and saved on a computer.The digitalized data were then refined and analyzed by fast Fourier transform for frequency analysis.Simulations were performed to assess the factors that affected the pulse,including phase shifts of reflected pulse waves (generate sub-peaks in pulses),inconsistent heart rates (deform pulse waves),the vessel stiffness (alter harmonic frequencies of the pulses),and the wave amplitudes (determined by the pulse strength).Results:By comparing a published report and our simulation findings,we characterized the pulse types and the effects of various factors,and then applied the findings to study actual pulses in patients.Three types of pulses were determined from the frequency spectrumchoppy pulse (Se mai) without apparent harmonic peaks,the harmonic frequencies of wiry pulse (Xian mai) that are non-integer multiples of the fundamental frequency,and surging pulse (Hong mai) that exhibit strong amplitudes in the spectrum of frequency.A normal pulse and a slippery pulse were differentiated by a phase shift,but not by assessing the frequency spectrum.Conclusion:These findings confirm that frequency domain analysis can avoid ambiguity arising in assessing the three types of pulses in the time domain.Further studies of other pulses in the frequency domain are required to develop a precise electronic pulse diagnoser.

本文对WRF模式中两种常用的雨滴双参数微物理方案,即Thompson方案和WDM6方案在华北地区‘7.20’暴雨中暖云粒子谱和雨滴源汇项的模拟差异,以及上述差异如何影响降水模拟进行了详细的分析。结果表明:WDM6方案模拟的云滴数浓度比Thompson方案中给定的云滴数浓度概量小1-3个量级,云滴谱较宽。云雨自动转换过程和雪、霰融化过程的共同导致WDM6方案雨滴粒子数浓度较大,平均尺度较小。本文着眼于微物理方案间的暖云粒子谱模拟差异,是以往研究关注较少的领域,有助于更好地理解微物理方案的模拟特征。

暖云粒子数浓度及粒子谱对微物理过程的模拟有着重要影响,不同于许多微物理方案,WDM6方案显示预报云滴数浓度。为评估其模拟效果,本文对比了WDM6方案与Thompson方案、Morrison方案在一次飞机观测试验中的模拟结果。结果表明:相比于观测结果,WDM6方案模拟云(雨)滴数浓度偏小(大),云滴谱较宽,特别是对于层状云中上部的模拟偏差较大。尽管Thompson方案和Morrison方案将云滴数浓度设置为常数,但这两种方案的云滴数浓度及云滴谱却更接近于观测。对于WDM6方案初始云凝结核数目(CCN0)的敏感性试验表明,改变CCN0能够改进WDM6方案对于对流云的模拟,但对于层状云的模拟结果影响较小。

Human babesiosis is an infection caused by intraerythrocytic protozoa of the genus Babesia and is a worldwide emerging tick-borne disease(1).Babesia is mainly parasitized in erythrocytes of human or other vertebrates and transmitted by the bite of ticks,blood transfusion,or organ transplantation(1).Humans are generally susceptible to Babesia,especially those who are immunocompromised with conditions such as splenectomy or splenic dysfunction,as well as those of old age,with infirmity,or with other severe diseases.

The relationship between chronic psychological stress and tumorigenesis has been well defined in epidemiological studies;however, the underlying mechanism remains underexplored. In this study, we discovered that impaired macrophage phagocytosis contributed to the psychological stressevoked tumor susceptibility, and the stress hormone glucocorticoid(GC) was identified as a principal detrimental factor. Mechanistically, GC disturbed the balance of the "eat me" signal receptor(low-density lipoprotein receptor-related protein-1, LRP1) and the "don’t eat me" signal receptor(signal regulatory protein alpha, SIRPa). Further analysis revealed that GC led to a direct, glucocorticoid receptor(GR)-dependent trans-repression of LRP1 expression, and the repressed LRP1, in turn, resulted in the elevatedgene level of SIRPa by down-regulating mi RNA-4695-3 p. These data collectively demonstrate that stress induces the imbalance of the LRP1/SIRPa axis and entails the disturbance of tumor cell clearance by macrophages. Our findings provide the mechanistic insight into psychological stress-evoked tumor susceptibility and indicate that the balance of LRP1/SIRPa axis may serve as a potential therapeutic strategy for tumor treatment.
